Foreign Policy Failure

In yet another stunning foreign policy failure the Obama Administration, President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton have apparently permitted an illegal sale of restricted military technology to go to Communist China. A French company had American technology and sold that technology to the Chinese for us in their space program. The Chinese space program is run by the Communist military. It is illegal for US military technology to be transferred to the Chinese military because of the human rights violations of Communist China.

It can cost billions of dollars and take decades to develop new technologies, particularly military space technology. The two shortcuts to that are to steal it or buy it. The Communist Chinese government has been running computer hacking attacks against American companies trying to steal secrets for some time. Now the State Department has actually been blocking an investigation into the Chinese buying American technology from the French.

We need to realize the Communist Chinese are not our friends. The Communist Chinese are a one party system that oppresses its people, denies them basic human rights and will murder or imprison anyone who challenges that system. Communist China is at best an aggressive competitor and at worst a potential enemy of the United States. President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton seem to have forgotten that; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Recovery

There are several things the United States can do to bring about a recovery and make us a stronger nation. Give scholarships to students who study subjects America needs. Engineers, computer technicians, nurses, doctors, and other technical subjects are needed by the United States. Stop providing subsidies for lawyers, diversity studies, and other college subjects that only provide a drag on the economy. Turn 50% of our law schools in to medical schools, bring down the cost of medicine and cut the number of frivolous lawsuits.

Increase the size of our National Guard and military Reserves. We need a strong national defense but don’t need a huge standing army. The military can be in readiness with strong reserve forces and they are much cheaper than a large standing army. We need to loan money for businesses to expand and repeal laws the hamper expansion. In California the state requires each supervisor to have two hours of sexual harassment training every year, what a foolish waste of time and money. I suspect the Chinese and Japanese don’t require that, and they don’t have 12% unemployment either.

We need to consider a tariff on all goods imported from Communist nations and Islamic nations that deny their people freedom of religion. That is a basic human right and we should not permit that to go on without some response. Why not save some American jobs and generate revenue at the same time? We also need to develop nuclear power, it is safe and clean, new plants don’t have the meltdown problems we saw at Chernobyl or Japan. We also need to drill and refine more oil in this nation and off shore. We need to build new oil refineries too, not just continue to expand existing facilities. Many of our problems we have brought on ourselves and so many of them we can fix ourselves; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Flat & Fair Taxes

God wants you to tithe ten percent of your income no matter how much or how little you make. If you make a lot, he wants you to give more according to your ability. The Federal Government can’t decide how much you should pay. They want you to pay more or less of a percentage of your income based on how much money you make. But they want to tamper with that system so that if you invest in politically connected or politically correct investments, they will cut your tax burden and so the rich in many cases will pay less than the poor.

We need a flat tax, one where everyone pays the same amount on all their income. Rent, wages, investments, capital gains, everything should be taxed at the same rate with few or no deductions and everyone should have to pay something. The poor get the benefits of national defense, and law enforcement and they should have to pay something for it too. They will have more of a stake in how our taxes are spent if they also have to pay taxes.

I would eliminate all the deductions for just about everything. Deductions are simply a way for the government to perform social engineering by subsidizing things that are politically connected. Why should renters subsidize those who have enough money to pay for a mortgage? Why should the rich get all kinds of deductions the poor can never get? The Congress needs to radically simplify and reform our tax system, that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Internet Freedom

Knowledge is power, and the Internet provides a great amount of power to the individual. Repressive communist and Islamic governments all over the world want to censor and regulate the Internet. Other governments want to tax the Internet. They see that there are two billion people on line with a half a million more added every day.

With numbers like that, they know that even a dollar per user per year could put a lot of money in the pockets of government. Imagine having to pay a nickel for every email or a penny for every web search to the United Nations to distribute as they see fit. Think about having to pay a dime in tax every time you click on a website in Communist China and what they could do with a few hundred million dollars. Even some states like California have tried to tax Internet sales.

Television is heavily regulated all over the world because it used the public airwaves. As a result in some nations there is little or no television at all and much of it is heavily controlled by the government. Is that what we want from the Internet? Official news from official sources only and a heavy tax burden on top of that? The power to tax is the power to destroy. Government regulation of the Internet will only lesson our choices and destroy our ability to gather and exchange information; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

No Guns at the Post Office

The US Postal Service is going broke but they still have enough money left to us to infringe on your right to keep and bear arms. The US Postal Service says that you can’t carry a gun when you visit the post office, even if you have a concealed weapons permit. They say you can’t even leave your gun in the parking lot while you go inside and transact your business. That’s outrageous.

The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. Unless you go to the post office to mail a letter, pick up a package or buy some stamps. Then you need to keep your guns at home. You can’t go to the gun store, buy a gun keep it in your trunk and then stop off at the post office, because that would be wrong; according to the post office.

The Post Office has no authority to prevent you from carrying a gun to the post office, if you are carrying a concealed weapon it is no business of theirs. The whole point of the right to keep and bear arms is that you can bear them, that is, that you can carry a gun around with you in places open to the public. The post office is not a secure facility like an airport or Federal Office building where armed guards are there to protect you. It is an open facility where any criminal or crazy person could walk in and start robbing or shooting, they will disregard any little sign on the wall that prevents the carrying of firearms, leaving only the honest, law abiding people disarmed; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Timbuktu: Foreigners Kidnapped, Murdered

Kidnappers kidnapped foreigners in Timbuktu. Murderers murdered foreigners in Timbuktu. For eighteen paragraphs this article tells us how foreigners are being murdered by murderers and kidnapped by kidnappers. They spend a lot of time telling use they are harmless tourists and that they are European.

It takes them eighteen paragraphs to get around to telling us the kidnappers and murders are from Al-Qaida. They never actually indicate they are Radical Muslims. Certainly we would not want to offend Radical Muslims by writing articles that associate them with kidnapping and murder, that would be Islamophobic.

This is why so many people in the West are ill informed and don’t think we are in a war against Radical Islam. The main stream media worries too much about offending the enemy. How much did we worry about offending Hitler in WWII? We are at war with Radical Muslims. The Radical Muslims kidnap innocent tourists. Radical Muslims murder innocent tourists. This was not an accident. It was not an isolated incident. This was not because the victims did anything wrong. Packers' Walden arrested on suspicion of battery - NFL - Sporting News

A professional football player has been arrested for battery against his live in girlfriend. The league is not sure what they will do about it. I have an idea; immediate suspension, without pay until his case is adjudicated. If convicted give him a lifetime ban him from professional football in any capacity.

I have an even better idea. How about suspend him for as long as he is living in sin with his live-in girlfriend? Professional sports players used to have morality clauses in their contracts that prohibited them from doing anything immoral or embarrassing to the sport. Living with a girlfriend without benefit of clergy is immoral and should merit a suspension until 30 games after it stops. That might reduce the opportunities that players have to beat their girlfriends.

Where are the liberals on this? There is no excuse for domestic violence, so why do the main stream media tolerate it with sports stars? Did anyone believe that OJ was looking for the real killers? Certainly not, but the media continued to give him positive play until he finally went to prison. Don’t have sex with any man unless he marries you first. Workplace Religious Discrimination Complaints Double Over 10 Years

If I own a company and I hire people to work for me, it is my job. It does not belong to the employee. It does not belong to the government, it is my job. If I want to have everyone work next Tuesday then that should be up to me to determine, not the government. If I want everyone to be off on Christmas Day and work on Easter Day then that should be up to me, not some judge.

We wonder why companies move to other states or other companies. We wonder why companies won’t hire anyone even if they are sitting on a pile of cash. We wonder why businessmen say that the government interferes too much with business. Then we permit lawsuits for religious discrimination. The lawyers for these lawsuits say the issue is so complicated that each case has to be handled individually. How can the average owner of a dry cleaning business be expected to know how to avoid religious discrimination if lawyers are not even sure of the law? Yet these lawsuits and the fear of lawsuits cost companies millions of dollars wasted that could go to making them more competitive or more profitable.

If a barbershop wants to hire all Muslims to cut hair that should be their right. If a grocery store expects everyone to work Christmas Day, then they should be permitted to do that. If a company does not want women to wear a headscarf at work then that should be up to the company to set their dress code. If I don’t want my employees to wear beards then Amish need not apply. Private business is just that, private. The government should not interfere with private decisions taken by employers about who they hire, who they fire, how they schedule, who they train, that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Communist China is still a repressive state controlled nation. We forget that they don’t have freedoms we take for granted here in America. They have some economic freedom but they still have a one political party system. They still have a government owned and controlled media and they still don’t have freedom of religion.

As a result the Communist State uses organs of the State to carry out State policy. Recently the Chinese have been sending signals to America not to buy American. They don’t want to lose the economic power they have over the United States. The Chinese are now using their State owned and controlled media to attack American companies doing business in China.

Some American businesses like WalMart out-compete their Chinese rivals. As a result, the State controlled Communist Chinese media is taking minor violations of local law and blowing them up into major incidents. The United States needs to press China to continue to reform. Mary Bach, Consumer Activist, Wins Lawsuit Against Walmart -- Over 2 Cents

This is exactly why so many businesses move to other countries. A woman went to Walmart and purchased a product that scanned for a cent more than the posted price. The checker realized the error and offered her the correct price. The woman refused and rather than take her penny refund she went to court. In any rational world the judge would have tossed her a penny and told her to get out.

Rather, the judge issued her a judgment and Walmart had to pay here money. She has sued Walmart many times and won. Each time it has been over some petty trivial incident like this one. No individual, let alone a giant corporation with tens of thousands of employees and millions of products for sale can be error free. It is simply impossible. So this woman makes her living by suing companies over the most trivial mistake under the guise of being a consumer activist. Perhaps remembering that we should do unto others as we would have them do unto us would be a good idea. A little Christian charity goes a long way towards making up for a small error here or there.

The reality is that these nuisance lawsuits do not help consumers. Walmart probably spent tens of thousands of dollars on executive time and lawyers trying to defend this lawsuit. Every dime of that money means higher prices for the consumer. Every dime wasted on lawsuits over a penny mean that Walmart is pushed towards moving out of that state and moving other operations to other countries. This is simply how that woman makes a living and the media puts the happy face on it by calling her a consumer advocate. Well she does not speak for me; here at the Hysterical Right Wing.

Alabama Leads the Nation

The state of Alabama has passed a reasonable bill aimed at removing illegal aliens from the state of Alabama. Despite the claims illegal rights groups this new law will cost very little in time or money for the state and will pay back benefits many times the initial costs. Every illegal alien school child taken out of school will provide more teaching time for children who belong in this country.

Every illegal alien who is arrested and deported is one more person who will not be using the scare resources of Alabama. They won’t be using gasoline, fresh water, and government services or holding a job that should be done by a person legally residing in Alabama. At a time of over 9% unemployment, even low paying jobs are welcome and better than long term unemployment. Most of the opponents to this law play the race card and complain that it is motivated by racism. They propose no other effective solutions to the problem of illegal immigration but rather expose open borders, even reconquista and giving large tracts of land to Mexico.

The citizens of Alabama are endangered every day by criminal illegal aliens who rob, rape and murder citizens of the United States. Every one of them who is deported makes this a safer place to live. Some teachers don’t like this law because they fear that their jobs will be cut if thousands of illegal aliens are forced out of the state. Some police chiefs don’t like this law either. That’s because they worry more about the rights of people who don’t even belong here than they do about the rights of Americans to secure their borders, provide services to citizens, and for people to be safe in their communities; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

President Obama seeks to divide America. The failed presidency of President Obama wants to make up for a lack of positive initiates and successes by dividing Americans into tiny demographics and then playing them one against another. The President can’t point to anything he has done to make this a better nation for all Americans, so he will point to failures, play them as success to specific demographics that may vary from the main stream on that one point.

He will tell homosexuals that he has ended the era of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. He knows that will not sit well with mainstream Americans, or veterans. Many Black Americans don’t accept homosexual behavior. So President Obama will tell Black Americans that he is one of them and he is working hard for them in the way a white Republican president will not.

President Obama will tell liberals he has withdrawn American troops from Iraq. He can’t claim victory, because the war is ongoing. President Obama will tell the youth that he wants to spend billions of dollars on a jobs bill and tax the rich to pay for it. He will leave out that he spent hundreds of billions and failed to stimulate the economy, bailed out Wall Street and Detroit automakers. Change Without Progress

I like progress, but I don’t like change. If something is changing for the better, I am all for it, if it is just change for the sake of change, or if it is getting worse, I don’t like it. This article suggests several changes in our future and I think he is right about a number of them. The Post Office may be going away, and I am okay with that. Private companies should be allowed to carry first class mail, but they should be required to deliver Monday through Saturday and to every address in the nation as the Postal Service does now. Checks are going away, I believe this one too. I buy a lot of things on line and pay many of my bills on line. It saves the hassle of getting a stamp and all that. It’s automatic and free; those paper checks don’t write themselves.

The newspaper may go away; I think it will simply become fully electronic. I blog three blogs everyday, I don’t print them. I have readers all over the world; they would be hard pressed to get a printed copy of this every day from California in Japan, Poland, or New Zealand. Lots of newspapers already publish on line and many magazines have had paper editions go away.

Book are soon to follow, at least for most books I think this is true. Mrs. Bunkermeister has a Kindle and she loves it. As they become more capable it will be harder to avoid the electronic reader. I still love books for taking notes, and having ten of them spread out on my desk as one time but maybe someday we will all own five or ten e-readers. The land line phone is going too, I have Internet phone and the wife has a cell phone. It’s too expensive to put up more lines; many developing areas will never have land line phones.

Music, television, DVDs are all going away. I agree it will all be cloud computing. All our electronic music, movies, television shows will be seamlessly kept in the great computers in the sky. I think this will mean many in music, and television and the movies will have to take smaller salaries and smaller royalties. I also worry about big brother making specific content unavailable or altering it to appease the political correctness of the day. Just as you don’t own Kindle content, you just are licensed to read it and the license can be revoked or the content changed at any time without warning. The author of the article bemoans the loss of privacy too, but I think it is an overrated illusion anyway. Two hundred years ago we all lived in small farms and villages and everyone knew everyone and everything you did was common knowledge then. Now the village is electronic and worldwide; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Free Trade, Fair Trade

I believe in freedom. If I want to buy some consumer goods from China, I should be free to do just that. If I want to sell consumer goods in China, I should be free to do just that. If I want to make consumer goods in China and sell them in the United States, I should be free to do that. If I want to make consumer goods in the United States and sell them in China I should be free to do that.

The government should not subsidize my manufacturing of consumer goods in either country. There should not be tariffs against the importation or exportation of consumer goods from or to either country. The currency transfer, taxes and labor laws, environment laws, trademarks, copyright, trade secrets and other laws should be similar.

Just as the fifty states have somewhat different rules I would expect the US and China to have some variation in the rules too. In general they should be quite similar.

If they have a 25% tariff on an imported consumer product than we should have a similar tariff, in the say, 20% to 30% range. If they lower their tariff, we should lower ours. If they raise their tariff then we should raise ours. Free trade is a good basis in understanding between free peoples. When one side manipulates their currency, restricts imports, restricts consumer sales, violates copyrights, trade secrets and trade marks, as Communist China does to the United States, then trade is neither fair nor free. We are in a trade war with Communist China, but the American side is not fighting back. We need to develop a trade policy now to eliminate our trade deficit with China by either selling them more consumer products or reducing the importation of Chinese products to the United States; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

The Communist Chinese are raising their defense spending over 10% in the next year. Japan has been consistently cutting defense spending for the last decade. North Korea is testing new missile systems and is probably building nuclear weapons. Both Communist China and Communist North Korea have threatened Japanese interests in recent years.

The Japanese are in need of new fighter planes. President Obama should be urging them to buy American fighters to replace their aging fleet of planes. The Japanese have also been trying to upgrade their fleet as well. Perhaps they could purchase a new or even used American aircraft carrier.

Closer defense ties with Japan are essential. The United States and Japan have been traditional partners since Japan opened to international trade in the late 1800’s. Only a few years before and during World War Two have the US and Japan been at odds. We need to work harder to have closer military and trade relationships with Japan. Their interests are our interests in the new Asia; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Muslim Christmas

Muslim Christmas Celebrations Recognize Jesus In Islam

Islam tries to put on the happy face and claim that they too recognize Jesus as a prophet. They like to point out that they accept the Old and New Testaments as holy books. That’s all true, as far as it goes. The problem is they don’t accept Jesus as the Son of God here on Earth. Jesus said he was the Messiah and that he was the Son of God. Scripture also teaches that a prophet must be correct in every prophecy or he is not a prophet sent by God.

If Jesus is the Son of God then he is not just a good man or a prophet. He is God incarnate. If people say they revere Jesus as a prophet but not as the Son of God then they are denying the very nature of who Jesus said he was; he is either the Son of God or a liar or a crazy person. If he is a liar then he is no prophet. If he is no prophet then we have no reason to revere or worship him. If he was a crazy person, then he is also no prophet and we still have no reason to revere or worship him. If he is lying about who he is then we should not worship a liar.

Jesus is the Son of God. He is the Christ, one part of the Trinity. He is both man and God. If we call him less then we are denying his own teachings. A religion that says one of their prophets is a liar does not seem to me to be an internally consistent religion. Islam says many things that contradict the teachings of Christ. Islam does not worship the God of the Christians because they deny the divinity of Christ, no matter how many Christmas celebrations they have; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Christian Persecution

A Christian family with a large property has been fined twice by the City of San Juan Capistrano for holding meetings in their home that exceed fifty people. They claim the couple needs to have a conditional use permit if they are going to have ongoing meetings at their home. The family is holding a Bible study. They are not a church; they are not taking up a collection.

They meet twice a week to discuss the Bible. Christians have held meetings in private homes since the earliest days of the Christian faith. The city of San Juan Capistrano was founded by Roman Catholic priests and is the home of the oldest building in California, a Catholic chapel. It is ironic that now that city is using its power to persecute Christians for having friends over to pray and study the Word of God.

A conditional use permit does not simply entail filling out a couple forms and paying a couple hundred dollars. It requires studies; approvals and can cost tens of thousands of dollars as well as be denied by the city. They may also require structural changes in the home and property that could also cost tens of thousands of dollars. The city should not be determining who can visit a private home. Unless there is loud noise, public drinking, fighting and other criminal acts, people should be allowed to study the Bible in a private home, on a regular basis, even if a few of the neighbors don’t like it, that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

My doctor says I have to try to stay out of the sun. As a part of my sun avoidance program, Mrs. Bunkermeister and I went to a local shop to buy me a couple hats. Seeing how I am a Western lawman, I opted for a cowboy hat as my first choice. Right there on the red, white and blue little tag was “Made in the USA.” The hat was a Stetson and I purchased that for business casual use.

I also wanted a more casual hat, perhaps a boonie hat or something similar. The store had olive drab and Army camouflage boonie hats. They even had the tags as found on military issue hats for size and care instructions. Only by looking at the underside of one of the tags was it clear the hat was made in Sri Lanka. I checked out many other hats and many of them implied they were made in the USA but were in fact made in Communist China or Sri Lanka or the Dominican Republic.

One of the hats even had the name of the company and “USA” in the logo, giving the impression that this foreign made hat was American made. I think one thing we might do that would cost very little is require every product to be clearly labeled with the nation of origin in large letters near the logo of the company. I think that nations that are Communist or that enforce Sharia Law should have that on the label too. Making it easier to buy American would help us to support each other in this time of economic crisis; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

The leader of a major union gave a speech recently. During the speech he said that the people need to take their pain and suffering caused by the economic crisis to the rich people. His speech is very much like the information being put out by the Occupy Wall Street people. It is no coincidence that his union also supports OWS.

I think the OWS protests were planned months before they happened. I think they were planned to coincide with the Republican primary season. That way they can deflect the news coverage from the Republican attacks on the failed polices of President Obama. I think in some ways it has backfired because so many of the OWS are so radical they even make President Obama seem moderate. These people are generally the same anti-war, anti-business, anti-American protestors that show up at the WTO, G-20 and any other establishment meeting.

The OWS protesters have actually been few in number; they were talking about 4,000 protesting in Oakland on November 3^rd, the day of the general strike. This is the same city that gets 30,000 people to turn out for a football game. I think the OWS has been a failure in that they have not captured the imagination of the American people, they have put out a confusing message, and they have essentially accomplished nothing. With winter coming I suspect there will be few of them in place in a few weeks; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Trade Deficit

The Communist Chinese sold Americans more than $273 billion in 2010 than the Chinese bought from America. There are many reasons for this imbalance. The Chinese have a tariff on everything they import from the USA that is much higher than the tariffs on Chinese good imported to the US. We should immediately match their higher tariffs.

The Chinese steal intellectual properties and the authorities do little to prevent it. The US government needs to take a more active role in prosecuting Chinese businessmen who steal or coerce intellectual properties from American companies. The US government should also begin targeting Chinese companies for espionage by American clandestine forces.

The Chinese also don’t provide their own people with the economic freedom to buy American products. The Israeli Ambassador to the United States was invited to give a speech to a group of students at the University of California, Irvine. During the speech and group of Muslim students planned to disrupt his speech by shouting out during the event. After they implemented their plan to prevent his speech they were arrested.

Universities always like to talk a good game about freedom of expression, but when it comes to expression they don’t like then they do more than protest, they take action to prevent the speech from happening. In this case an ambassador from a foreign nation was invited to speak and he was shouted down by pro-Palestinian protestors who did not want an Israeli to speak in public.

If they wanted to protest they could have carried signs and marched in front of the venue. They could have asked pertinent but difficult questions during the planned question and answer period. They could have scheduled their own speaker to talk about events from their point of view. Rather, they choose to be rude and disruptive to a guest and one who represents a foreign nation in this country, an important ally to the United States. People who hire a hall have a right to hear the speaker they arranged to hear, without disruption from third parties; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

President Obama keeps telling us that we need to tax the rich and to increase spending. President Obama also keeps redefining what he things rich is, sometimes it’s people who make a million dollars and sometimes it’s people who make a couple hundred thousand dollars a year.

The fact is we all pay too much in taxes now. Why should we thing that the Federal Government will do a better job of spending money that rich people will? Rich people don’t just earn money and then put it under their mattress. Rich people spend money that in turn employs people. They buy a car and the car dealer makes money. They remodel their house, they buy clothing, jewelry, they throw parties and all this economic activity provides jobs for people who provide those goods and services.

If the government taxes those rich people then politicians will determine where that money goes. Do you really think they will do a better job of distributing that wealth? The government can’t give you money unless they take it from someone who has earned it. We need to create more opportunities for people to earn money in the private sector. Eliminate government regulations that make it hard for small businesses to operate. Simplify the tax laws so businesses can operate easier. If tax laws are simpler than there are fewer places for the rich to hide their money and they will pay their fair share of taxes; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

The Federal Government has claimed that Gibson has illegally imported some wood from India. They raided the Gibson guitar facility and seized a million dollars worth of wood and stopped production of guitars. The Federal Government may even consider people who have a Gibson guitar may be in violation of the law.

Gibson says the transactions were legal and the wood was imported properly. President Obama is moving about the country trying to get people to create jobs while his Justice Department is putting people out of work. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was opposed to the War in Vietnam. Two of his close advisors were members of the Communist Party, USA. The same Communist Party that took money from the Soviet Union. The same Soviet Union that was providing weapons and advice to the Vietnamese Communists.

When a monument to Dr. King was constructed, it was carved by a Chinese sculptor from granite from China. The Chinese Communists have about 240 nuclear warheads. Or they have 3,500 nuclear warheads. Or they may have some number in between those two numbers. Or they may have more than that. The numbers vary depending on who you believe. The Chinese Communists say they don’t have very many. US intelligence says they have more than that and private sources say they have more or less than any of these amounts.

The problem is that no one knows how many nuclear weapons the Chinese Communists have or how they are stored, where they are at or how they can be delivered. They may have nuclear bombs dropped from aircraft. They may have intercontinental ballistic missiles with either single or multiple warheads. They may have reloads for the short and medium range missile systems. No one is really sure.

Why is the United States exporting jobs, technology and billions upon billions of dollars to a nation that has nuclear weapons pointed at us? Why does this seem like a good idea? While the Chinese have permitted some economic freedom there is still no political or religious freedom in China. Too often we forget that China is a Communist police state that ruthlessly oppresses its people and keeps at least hundreds if not thousands of nuclear weapon ready for war against the US and our allies. Mass Transit without Union Control

Mass transit generally only works in a dense urban environment. Buses and trains are also a way for the unions and the government to control who goes where and when they go there. In California I see empty buses driven by expensive unionized workers all the time going places no one wants to go to. Cars and freedom go together.

We need a better internal combustion engine that provided better gas mileage and fewer emissions. Rather than waste so much money on subsidizing solar power for individuals and companies the government should be doing basic research into solar power and internal combustion engines. Then private companies and the free market can make use of those developments.

We need the smart highway system where cars drive themselves. We already deploy robot cars in Afghanistan and Google Maps has driven robot cars all over the streets of the USA. Robot cars drive themselves on the smart highway. The smart highway monitors traffic and keeps cars a safe distance from one another. It relies on us to own and maintain our own vehicles and the government simply maintains the infrastructure. This system allows much more traffic on the existing roads, easing pollution and making it faster to go from place to place. We need to use our technology to solve problems not just more money thrown on failed government transit programs; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

American homes are valued at about $16 trillion dollars. The national debt is over $15 trillion dollars. If we all sold our homes and used the money to pay off the national debt we could do it, today. We are losing value in our homes for years now and the national debt is growing. Tax the rich sounds like a nice slogan but they don’t have enough money to pay off our debt.

We keep hearing from the media about all the money the big corporations have, but they only have a bit over $2 trillion dollars. It would hardly make a dent in our big debt if we taxed it all away. The Obama Administration has failed to provide leadership on jobs, debt reduction, trade deficits, and anything else to do with the economy.

The unemployment rate has fallen recently from 9% to 8.5% but even that is a historically high figure. The problem is that more people did not find work; more people just stopped looking for work. As the government keeps increasing the age that people have to work in order to retire they keep the labor market full of old people. As the Obama Administration fails to enforce our immigration laws the labor market is full of illegal aliens that keep wages low. Iran: U.S. Spy Plane Reportedly Shot Down By Iran Armed Forces

Iran claims to have shot down a US spy plane. If that’s true it is a great problem for the United States. I wonder if the Obama Administration is doing anything about it. I would think that secret American military devices would have the ability to self-destruct if they fall into enemy hands. Not only are they secret but they are expensive as well. Not only will Iran study it, but they will no doubt allow other enemies and competitors to look at it as well.

Once we figured out Iran had the spy plane we should have destroyed it. We have done this in the past when a stealth fighter when down we bombed the area. Here we should have been able to send in a cruise missile and destroy it. Then we could put the destruction down to a self-destruct device.

The business of espionage is a dangerous and secretive business. It is also brutal and the stakes are very high. Iran may be close to having nuclear weapons. A collapse of either Communist North Korea or a collapse in Pakistan and an attack by Communist China are the three doomsday scenarios being played in the Pentagon these days. Any of these could spell big trouble for the United States. If Communist North Korea sees a collapse not unlike that of East Germany, then I suspect the two Koreas will unite under South Korea. The problem is, what will Communist China and the rest of the world do about it? North Korean nuclear weapons and missile technology would be valuable to most Muslim nations and other rogue states. Communist China could send in troops to restore order. I would hope the UN would send in troops to restore order with a multinational group that would withdraw once North and South Korea figured out how to consolidate their nations into one country.

Pakistan is a greater problem. There are few who can help if they fall apart. Pakistan is a reluctant ally with the United States and we have few resources there to bring to bear on the problem of securing Pakistani nuclear weapons. I would hope the US, UK and India could work together to sieze and remove all the Pakistanis nuclear weapons from the country. I would also hope they would neutralize all the nuclear scientists and technicians so they don’t end up working for Iran, Cuba, Venezuela or other rogue nation.

The most critical and perhaps the most unlikely is a naval confrontation with Communist China that could lead to World War Three. China is building new weapons systems and is looking to enforce its will its neighbors. Taiwan, Japan and the Philippines have historic ties to the United States and could well drag us into a confrontation. With China having a surplus of young males, a surplus of money and a massive new military buildup this would be the most dangerous of the three options. Communist Chinese government is getting its fleet ready for war. They are expanding at a rapid rate. They are rattling swords at their neighbors and they are making new weapons; often using stolen American technology. All of this over the possibility that oil may be lurking in the South China Sea.

Many nations are claiming various degrees of territorial waters and exclusive economic zones in the area. The stakes are high for none of these nations have enough oil to serve their growing needs. For the first time China is building a fleet to project power beyond the coastal waters of China. They are building a fleet that can project power over long distances and even challenge the diminishing American Navy. Even President Obama has become aware of the danger and is placing a few US troops in Australia. The solution to this problem is simple. Stop buying so much from Communist China so they can’t afford to build their fleet. Start building more here in the United States so we can afford a larger Navy. Place tariffs on Chinese goods to cut our trade and budget deficit and cut regulation on business to make the United States a popular place to do business again; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

While Iran may consider the Christian nation of the United States to be the Great Satan, the officially atheist nation of Communist China is a great friend of Iran. President Obama as a candidate said he would sit down without pre-conditions and meet the Iranian leaders to work out the differences between the two nations. How did that meeting work out? This shows how far government has intruded into business. Generally speaking the tax code should be written to bring in money to run the government. Instead the tax code is used to penalize companies, industries and people who do things the government does not like and to reward those the government does like.

The Senate just passed a bill to give tax credits to companies that hire veterans. I am a veteran. I like veterans, but I don’t think we should be giving tax credits to hire veterans. People should be hired for solid business reasons like this guy is the best person for the job. Holiday Tree?

It’s Christmas. Christians are putting up evergreen trees to symbolize the eternal nature of God. Even in the dead of winter when everything else seems to be dead, God is still there, and alive. Now at the end of the year, God will send his only begotten Son to save all of us from our sins. As part of our happiness at this free gift of salvation, we bring a tree into our homes or our business and decorate it with joy and hope, a Christmas tree.

This is a distinctly Christian tradition. It is not a Jewish tradition. Muslims don’t do this, nor due Buddhists. Since the vast majority of people in this nation are Christian, many companies and governments put up Christmas trees to join in the spirit of love, hope and forgiveness of Christmas.

Calling the tree a “holiday” tree is ignorant, foolish and disrespectful to Christmas. We don’t put up trees on Labor Day, Memorial Day or even on Arbor Day. We put up decorated trees for Christmas. If others want to honor their traditions in the public square, then certainly I have no problem with that if the local people want to pay for it themselves or if those doing the display use their own money for it. We should not put up a Menorah and call it a seasonal candle stick holder. We should not put up a Christmas tree and call it a holiday tree, that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Freedom Not Secrecy

The Supreme Court has said that non-profit 501(c)(4) corporations can receive as much money in contributions as people want to give them and have no obligation to report the money or the identity of the donor. They can spend this money on political campaigns as long as it is not directed in favor of specific candidates.

This is simply wrong in several ways. Money is important in political campaigns. Candidates and committees should be allowed to raise as much money as they can without any limitations on who gives the money, provided the money is given by American citizens and American businesses and American organizations. Foreign entities should never be permitted to influence the American electoral process.

My only stipulations are that the money given to political organizations must be reported by name. Every dime must be accounted for by the receiving organization. Any money not properly traced back to a legitimate donor should be forfeited to the government. All money collected for a specific election or candidate must be spent before Election Day. All left over money should be forfeited back to the government. The money should not be used to form slush funds to help other candidates, or causes. Give what you want, spend it how you want, give it up when the election is over; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

In the spirit of love that is Christmas, shoppers are sleeping on the ground in front of stores waiting until they open so they can get a good bargain on Black Friday. In keeping with the spirit of giving, stores are forcing their employees to work on Thursday to both prepare for Black Friday sales and even opening on Thursday, Thanksgiving, to get a jump on Christmas shopping.

In this time of Advent, it is good to know that shoppers are taking the time to reflect on what is most important, one woman at a Target store pepper sprayed other shoppers so she could get inside and snatch a few bargains. It is good to know that as we become a more secular nation we can still spare the time to go shopping rather than spend our time with friends and family on the Thanksgiving holiday.

As we continue to secularize the “Holiday Shopping Season” we take all the love and joy out of Christmas. We replace those emotions with greed, with envy and with anger, frustration and hate for one another. The weeks before Christmas are supposed to be a time of reflection as we prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ. We are supposed to express our joy at his coming by being good to our fellow man. In 1953 a memorial to the veterans of WWII was constructed in Flathead national Forest in Montana. It is on a 625 square feet parcel of land leased to the Knights of Columbus. It is a small concrete plinth with a statue of Jesus on the top. The US Forest Service does not want to renew the lease and wants the statue removed.

As usual a few liberals are trying to destroy the Christian religious heritage of the United States. This statue has been there for over fifty years and represents the Roman Catholic heritage of many of our World War Two veterans. There is no reason to remove this statue. It does not interfere with roadway construction, wildlife habitat, or waterway preservation. It simply sits there playing tribute to our veterans.

There are many misguided people who think that separation of church and state is in the Constitution, it is not. There are many people who disregard the fact the freedom of religion is in the Constitution. This monument should be allowed to stand where it has been for over 50 years. There is nothing wrong with a religious message being shown on public land, it has been going on since the time of the Founding Fathers and should continue to be there; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

PetSmart has a website with hundreds of references to “holiday.” They talk about the holiday and discuss what gifts are best for the holiday. They just don’t mention what holiday it is supposed to be. I wonder if they do that for any other holidays? There is a holiday in the middle of the summer. Warm weather gifts and patriotic gifts might be perfect for that holiday.

There is a holiday in the dead of winter. It is celebrated by almost all Americans. While it is a religious holiday, even most secular Americans celebrate it. In fact, despite the fact that it is a Christian holiday, even many non-Christian Americans participate in this holiday. However, apparently some companies feel that some people might find the very mention of this holiday offensive.

Apparently too many companies think it is okay to disrespect Christians and not mention Christmas at Christmas time. They would rather not offend the occasional person by running a Christmas advertisement. I don’t understand how they can run ads for all kinds of other events and religious holidays, but when it comes to Christmas, suddenly companies can’t target the largest single market in the country, people who celebrate Christmas. India has a plan to increase jobs in manufacturing by six million jobs a year with a total of 100 million new manufacturing jobs by 2025. That really makes President Obama’s plan to cut one or two percent of off our unemployment rate look pretty weak. By following the Indian plan President Obama could have had full employment by now and in fact a labor shortage in the United States.

Rather, we have unemployment stuck at 9% or more during his entire term thus far. We have millions of Americans deep in debt, millions of Americans who are working two jobs to make ends meet, millions of Americans who have not worked in years because they can’t find a job. In the meantime, India has determined what most of us have known all along, that we need good jobs in manufacturing to employ our people.

President Obama bailed out Wall Street with money we had to borrow from the Communist Chinese. Those companies should have been allowed to go bankrupt, there is no such thing as too big to fail; the market says otherwise. They did fail. President Obama bailed out the auto industry with money borrowed from the Communist Chinese and again the companies were said to be too big to fail. They should have failed and been broken up into smaller, leaner more agile companies. Public School Sex Ed Class Could Inform On Oral Sex And Bestiality (VIDEO) (POLL)

Childhood should be a time of innocence. Children should be told about human sexuality when their parents think it is time for the child to learn about it. The schools should teach the biology of puberty and reproduction at the time when most children reach puberty. Little kids should be free to be children.

Children should never be exposed to perversion or unnatural sexual acts. Children should be able to retain their innocence. Such sexual deviancy should only be taught in college level courses. It should only be taught in the context of dysfunctional sexual behavior to people who are on a professional tract and have a need to know about such activity. Teaching little kids about bestiality will not solve any of our nation’s problems.

There is no need to little kids in elementary school, junior high school or even high school to be taught anything about oral sex or bestiality. Two US Marines stood their ground and shot at a truck driven by a suicide bomber. The truck contained a ton of explosive. The continued to shoot at the driver up until the bomb exploded and killed them. Their standing and shooting the truck driver saved at least fifty other Marines.

I just saw a billboard that was advertising a movie based on vampires and werewolves. I saw an ad for an animated movie based on the adventures of a cat with a sword. There was a bus with an advertisement for a movie about penguins that sing and dance too. There are several TV shows on now about ghosts and spooky thing that go bump in the night.

There are no movies that honor our soldiers in Iraq or Afghanistan. There are no television series, movies or specials that present the American Soldier, Sailor or Marine in a positive light in the War on Terror. Hollywood it totally out of original ideas and is so far removed from regular Americans they don’t get how supporting the troops in time of war is a patriotic duty of all Americans. A little boy is being allowed to pretend that he is a girl. The boy is living the fiction that he is or may become a girl. Boys can’t become girls. Gender reassignment is one of the greatest frauds in medical science today. People can take drugs, hormones, chemicals, and get surgically modified to resemble the opposite sex. They can then pretend they have had their sex changed, but the reality is their DNA is unchanged. There is no such thing as a sex change.

As if it is not bad enough that a little boy is being permitted to live as a girl, now other little girls are being forced to live his perversion. This troubled young person wants to become a girl scout. Now the Girl Scouts has knuckled under to political correctness and perversion and are requiring his local Girl Scout troop to accept him as a member.

My daughter was a Girl Scout. I would have removed her immediately from the program if they did this when she was a member. Boys belong in the Boy Scouts. Girls belong in the Girl Scouts. People should be permitted free association and that means that groups should be permitted to segregate themselves by sex if they choose to do that. The Communist Chinese are claiming waters as much as a thousand miles from their shores. The US and other nations recognize only a limit of 12 miles for territorial waters and an economic zone to protect fisheries and undersea resources out to 200 miles. By claiming a thousand mile territorial waters limit the Chinese are trying to get off shore oil areas that are claimed by Taiwan, Vietnam and the Philippines as well as other nations.

The Chinese are hoping that by claiming these waters they will be able to stop development of these resources by other nations. Despite these claims, no one else honors these claims and both Vietnam and the Philippines have done limited oil exploration in these areas.

China is building and operating aircraft carriers. They are building new anti-ship and surface to surface missiles. They are looking at Guam as a potential target to hit to disable American ability to project power in Asia. This is not the time to cut defense, we need to maintain our Navy and our Air Force, there are defense challenges that only conventional weapons can face, that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

The people at Occupy Wall Street and others who would tax the rich and take from corporations need to look at what is happening in California. California has 12% unemployment, over 3% more than the rest of the nation. We are losing jobs to other parts of the nation and few businesses are being created here. Our taxes are very high and our regulatory burden is extreme. Our judicial system is overflowing with foolish lawsuits and we are letting real criminals out of prison to make more room.

Despite all these problem no one seems to be able to come up with any solutions apart from more laws, more taxes, higher taxes and more lawsuits. Public employee unions get compensation packages that the average private sector worker can only dream about. Their pensions are nearly bankrupting the state and yet no one is able to show any leadership apart from raising taxes again and again.

Those at the national level have to know that raising taxes only brings in so much money. The power to tax is the power to destroy. Every job you tax is in danger of being moved out of the country. Every expensive law about sexual harassment, the environment, labor protection threatens a job that could be moved overseas. Much as been written about America becoming a service economy, that’s because you can’t mow someone’s’ lawn from Mexico or paint their fingernails from China; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Catholic Bishops Prepare Religious Liberty Fight

The Roman Catholic Church and other traditional Christian churches have failed to do their duty in the last 60 years. The Constitution does not require a separation of church and state. The Constitution only requires that the Congress shall not respect an establishment of religion and that there be no religious test to hold office.

When we were an English colony the English government recognized a state religion and often required members of the government to be members to the state sponsored church. Our Constitution stopped those two practices. The Constitution does not forbid prayer in public, in public schools, in public ceremonies; indeed, the Congress itself has a chaplain paid for by the Federal government. Certainly the people who wrote the constitution would not then go on to do things that were unconstitutional. Religious groups should have no fewer rights than any other group.

If an ecology group has the right to make a public statement at a government event, than a religious group can say a prayer. If a gay and lesbian group can use school offices for a meeting then religious groups can use school offices for a meeting. I am glad the Roman Catholic Church is planning on standing up for their rights as citizens; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

The Occupy Wall Street protests continue despite the fact that they only have a vague notion of what they want to accomplish. There have been numerous complaints by people who want to use the parks for recreation, by local businesses who have been shut down and by regular folks who just want to drive to work without having to go around the protesters.

Too many of the protesters are simply complaining about things that will only make our problems worse. Tax the rich and give me their money seems to be a recurring theme. Pay off my student loans. Give me a government job. Give me free health care paid for by the government with taxes from the rich. Give me a place to live.

President John F. Kennedy was noted as being very liberal. What did he say that might have relevance to these young people? He was the youngest man ever elected as president. "Let every nation know... that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure the survival and the success of liberty." I think he would support the War on Radical Islamic Terrorism. "Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country" That does not sound like a President who wants free health care, free tuition and free housing for everyone. And finally, "...let us go forth to lead the land we love, asking His blessing and His help, but knowing that here on earth God's work must truly be our own." How long will it be before military chaplains are required to perform same sex marriages? Chaplains are supposed to provide spiritual guidance to the soldiers they serve with. Open homosexuals have been forbidden from service in the US Army since George Washington was in the service. If a homosexual soldier requests a chaplain to marry him and his boyfriend and the traditional Chaplain refuses, how long will it be before the homosexual soldier files a lawsuit against the military for discrimination? How much time will it take to find a homosexual judge who will not recues himself from the case to rule in favor of the homosexual soldier?

In California we voted in favor of Proposition 8. It required California to recognize marriage as being between one man and one woman. Naturally the homosexual lobby sued against the implementation of this law. The liberals found a judge who was a reported closeted homosexual to rule on this law. So despite the fact that the judge had a self interest in the outcome of the case his ruling still stood. The case is still under appeal years later.

I anticipate that the same thing will happen at the Federal level. A homosexual judge will rule the DOMA unconstitutional and require military chaplains to perform homosexual marriages. In the meantime the military will screen out all chaplain applicants who refuse to accept homosexual activity as normal and who refuse to perform homosexual marriages. Over time all chaplains with a traditional view of marriage will be removed from the service; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Not too many years ago it was illegal for homosexual to serve in the US military. Homosexual activity itself was illegal. We were told all they wanted was to be left alone to live their lives, quietly and without having to fear the government. So many well meaning liberals overturned the laws against homosexual behavior and eventually the military adopted the policy of not asking recruits if they were homosexual and as long as the recruit did not reveal that they were homosexual then they were okay to serve in the military.

We jump forward a few years and President Obama forcing the Gay Agenda on America eliminates the DADT policy in the middle of a war. Not long afterwards, the Marines were recruiting at gay pride events. So in only a few decades we have degenerated from homosexual activity is illegal to those who participate in homosexual activity are actively recruited by the US Marines.

Despite the law, the Defense of Marriage Act that mandates that the Federal government only recognize marriage between one man and one woman, the military is now permitting military chaplains to perform same sex marriages. Not only are they authorized them, but the military is actually permitting them on military bases. This is a clear violation of the DOMA and a usurpation of the power of Congress to change laws. If President Obama does not like this law, then he needs to get it changed, not just ignore it. Two lesbians are raising a little boy. Since he was three years old the little boy has said he wants to be a girl. He communicates by sign language. This isolated little boy who is being raised by two women says he wants to be a girl. That is not a surprise; children often want to be like their parents. A boy being raised by two women and who has difficulty interacting with other people because he can’t hear is almost certainly going to identify with the female gender.

This is the perfect reason why same sex couple should not raise children. They don’t provide the proper role models for their children to emulate. Children need both a mother and a father so they can learn the gender roles that God and society have given to us as sexual beings. When a child is raised by two parents of the same sex the child is missing an important part of their upbringing.

As a result the boy is being given drugs so he will not develop physically as a man until he is old enough to decide if he wants to be male or female. Why are these parents letting a three year old determine his gender? As parents we are supposed to guide our children along the correct path. The correct path for a boy is to become a man. In my opinion this is child abuse by confusing this child about his sexuality. He should be taught to be a boy and eventually to act like a man. Sex change operations do not change your basic nature or your DNA. This is simply an excellent example of why children need two parents, one from each sex; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Homosexual Military

The removal of the DADT policy has only just happened and yet the Marines are already attending homosexual events with recruiting booths with the intent to recruit homosexual Marine recruits. This will be simply the first of many consequences that we were not told about when DADT was removed. The military will actively recruit homosexual candidates for the services. The next step will be to have specific goals for recruitment with a goal of having a certain minimum of homosexuals in their ranks.

The next step after that will be for the services to have set asides for each rank level. They will have a requirement that at least a certain percentage of each rank level be staffed with openly homosexual service members. They will require this to make up for past discrimination.

Over time the military will be required to pay for dependant care for same sex partners. They will be force to pay for the health care for homosexuals who are in a same sex marriage with a service member. Service members will participate in openly homosexual events and bring shame and discredit upon the military. This is immoral, it will seriously degrade readiness and must be reversed; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Military & Homosexuality

The military has now announced that chaplains may perform same sex marriages. They say they are permitted to perform same sex marriages as long as the marriage is legal in the state where they perform the marriage. They also say that the chaplain does not have to perform the marriage if it violates his belief system. This is part of the continuing disaster that is the removal of the DADT policy.

Homosexual activists and President Obama will continue to force the gay agenda on the military over the next year. First chaplains will begin performing same sex marriages. Then they will perform them overseas to soldiers that are from states where same sex marriage is legal. Next they will perform them overseas where same sex marriage is legal. The Marines participate in a large exercise in Norway and so I anticipate this will be an excuse to permit homosexual Marines to marry.

Once a critical mass of homosexual service members exist who have had a same sex marriage, chaplains will begin performing such marriages without regard to their legality in the specific locality. Eventually, probably in the next year, chaplains will be required to perform homosexual marriages or will not be promoted and eventually force out of the service. Homosexual marriage is not marriage. It is a sinful twisting of the union between one man and one woman that mirrors God’s union with his people in the church; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

High Speed Rail

California is broke. We have so little money that we are giving furloughs to state employees and letting prisoners out of prison. We don’t have any money for essentials but we are spending millions of dollars to study a high speed railway corridor between Northern and Southern California. This study has gone on for years and not one foot of rail line has been built. Not a single yard of land has been purchased for the right of way. Millions of dollars sunk into the project and not one person has moved one inch by high speed rail in California.

I have been to San Francisco a few times in my life. It was a dirty city filled with homeless people. I have no particular desire to go there again. I certainly don’t need the State to spend billions of dollars we don’t have to build a high speed rail system so I can get there in only three or four times the length of time it would take to get there by plane.

This is typical of the failures we have experienced here in California in recent decades. People try to get the government to do things that private industry should do, indeed, would do if they made economic sense to accomplish. A high speed rail system would cost billions of dollars and run on deficits for the next forty years. By then the lack of maintenance and wear and tear would require the entire system to be rebuilt at a huge cost to the taxpayers. If we need high speed rail, let private companies spend their money to study it and build it; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Foreign Policy Failure

The United States under President Bush pledged to build intermediate range missile defenses to protect the United States and our allies in Europe. The concern was that Iran is building missiles that can strike most of Western Europe and since they are working on nuclear weapons the danger posed was unacceptable. Then President Bush assured Poland and other nations we would build these defenses no matter what Russia wanted. Russia was concerned about these missile defenses as they saw them as a threat to Russian missiles.

Poland stood by their new allies the United States. The President Obama enters office and pulls the rug out from under the Polish government by telling the world we will not build the missile defense system after all. In the meantime the Russians had stopped compliance with conventional weapons treaties in protest of American missile defense. The Russians and Americans were supposed to trade information and permit inspection of bases, like fools the Obama Administration continued to allow Russian inspections of American bases for three more years, while Americans were denied the ability to inspect Russian bases!

Only now after it is totally hopeless that the arms treaty can be revised are the Americans denying the Russians the ability to inspect American bases. So under President Obama we have failed to build a missile defense system for Western Europe, failed to stand by our Polish allies and failed to convince the Russians to abide by a treaty that was mutually beneficial to reduce the likelihood of conventional war. One foreign policy failure after another has been the hallmark of the Obama Administration. Yet the news media ignores these failures and continues to tell us what a great job President Obama has been doing and what a wonderful Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been. I think they have both been disastrous for American foreign policy; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Too often when conservatives call for legislation that is controversial the moderates say we don’t need a Constitutional amendment, we simply need Congress to pass a law. There are several problems with that approach. The first problem is that if Congress can pass a law to stop a problem, then a subsequent Congress can pass a law just as easily to bring the problem back again. The second problem is that judicial activists will simply declare the law unconstitutional and will invalidate the work Congress has done.

We have seen this time and again with several issues. The Congress has passed laws against the public burning of the US flag. We were told a law would be enough and it was unnecessary to pass a Constitutional Amendment to protect the flag. Naturally, judicial activists then invalidate the law, claiming that people have a First Amendment right to burn the flag.

Congress has passed numerous laws against abortion. We were told the Right To Life amendment was unnecessary. Then Congress changes and abortion is paid for by the Federal Government, again. Most recently we were told the Defense of Marriage Act was enough to protect marriage, that one man, one woman marriage was the law of the land. Instead, President Obama ignores the law, states pass their own homosexual marriage laws and now the Congress is considering the repeal of the DOMA. It is shameful that our leaders ignore existing law and fail to protect American values by permitting flag burning, abortion and homosexual marriage; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Since at least Project Horizon in 1959 the US Army has considered the possibility of placing a permanent base on the Moon. The military concept of holding the high ground is never truer when the Army is based on the Moon. There is no higher ground than a lunar base. An Army moon base has many technological, scientific, economic and political advantages as well as military advantages.

Since President Obama has failed to keep manned American space flight as an option, the Communist Chinese have been looking to fill that gap. The United States is losing valuable time by not having astronauts in space. Space is very difficult and manned space flight is probably the single most difficult thing done by human beings.

Every year that we delay having astronauts in space we lose institutional memory about space flight. Every year we don’t launch men into space we lose the ability to recapture that skill. The United States continues to lead the world in defense industries. The US Army is working on a hypersonic weapon. The concept is that a missile can be launched and hit a target anywhere in the world in less than an hour. The missile will not have a nuclear warhead and will travel at speeds of Mach 5 or more.

This will permit the US Army to support troops anywhere in the world. It will minimize the need to have airbases nearby to support US Army troops. It will reduce the need for nuclear weapons because it can attack targets with great accuracy from tremendous distances.

The US military continues to invent and develop incredible weapons for our troops to use. While a weapon of this type is of limited value in the War on Terror it is impossible to predict the nature of the enemy in five or ten years or more. Who in 1932 would have predicted we would have been at war with both Germany and Japan less than ten years later? Five or ten years from now we could be at war with Communist China, Malaysia, India or any number of other nations. We can raise taxes, but even taking everything from the rich won’t solve this debt crisis, and taxing the middle class to serve debt is never popular. Chinese Territorial Expansion

The South China Sea is claimed by Brunei, Communist China, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan, and Vietnam. They are all concerned about oil, fisheries, and trade routes. The Communist Chinese want to employ a strategy of divide and conquer. They want to negotiate with each country individually. The Communist Chinese know that they are stronger than any one nation in the region and by negotiating with each country in turn they know they are more likely to obtain a result favorable to themselves.

The United States says we will counter any Chinese aggression in the region. In fact, President Obama has said he will place US troops in northern Australia to help counter Chinese moves in the region. The US is going to have troops there as soon as next year, to include both warships and Marines.

At the same time President Obama is rattling swords against the Chinese, he is calling for massive cuts in our military spending. At the same time, the US is running huge trade deficits with China. It is these deficits that permit the Chinese the ability to continue to expand their military at a time when we are cutting ours. The Chinese see the big picture, a few thousand Marines in northing Australia is nothing compared to the cuts of hundreds of ships from our Cold War Navy of 600 vessels. The US needs to bring jobs home from China, cut or deficits with China and build up our military; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Anti-Free Speech Liberals

Chinese Aggression

Vast reserves of oil have been found in the area of the South China Sea. These reserves have been claimed by many nations including the Philippines and Taiwan as well as Vietnam and Communist China. Vietnam has been working with India to consider exploration and development of some of these oil fields.

The Communist Chinese have been projecting naval power into the area and have confronted ships from the Philippines, Vietnam and India. This is part of the reason for the massive naval buildup by the Chinese. They are buying and building aircraft carriers and one reason may be to enable their navy to operate in these waters with air support.

The Philippines and Vietnam have small coastal navies of mostly older vessels. India however has a large and capable navy and would pose a significant challenge to Communist China. The United States has pledged to support the Philippines and Taiwan in the event of a war and so this is a poor time to be cutting back on our navy. We need to be building ships not cutting our defense budget. Ship building provides excellent jobs and is a skill we can’t afford to lose in this country, that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

By using every unfair trade practice they can the Communist Chinese have made trillions of dollars from international trade. We outsource our jobs to China and buy Chinese goods, making the Chinese rich and us poor. Then the Chinese come back and buy us up at a discount. Poverty Rate

The US has one of the highest poverty rates in the whole world. We have more people living below the poverty line now then we have in the 50 years they have kept records. The poverty rate is the highest in almost 30 years. We have about 50 million people without health insurance. Unemployment has hovered at 9% for years and in some places like California, its over 12%. If President Obama wants to do something to end poverty he needs to give us incentives to work, and removed blockades to wealth.

Teach people how the free enterprise system works. Many people don’t understand the whole produce a product and sell it for more than it costs you to make and keep the rest as profit concept. Too many think high profits are bad, when in fact high profits are what keep companies in business. Teach people how to run a successful business. Eliminate barriers to small business ownership. People on welfare and unemployment have lots of time on their hands, send them to classes to learn how to find and keep a job or how to open a small business and employ others.

Make one stop shops for people who want to start a business. Reduce the red tape, the regulation needed for people to own and run a business. Too many people have no idea all the laws that even a simple business must comply with in order to operate and the number of government agencies that must sign off on your business. Health department, fire department, state income tax, state sales tax, federal income tax, Depart of Labor, Department of Homeland Security, Immigration, and on and on it goes just to run a simple ice cream parlor, fast food or corner market. Have sex at age 20 and get a venereal disease, it’s okay the government will pay for your healthcare because healthcare is a right.

A boy can get his girlfriend pregnant at age 15 because boys will be boys, you can’t expect a boy to marry the girl, they are too young. The 17 year old boy can have sex with a 27 year old man because it’s just intergenerational love and we all know love is good. The 20 year old man can have sex with another 20 year old man and still be a soldier because it’s all about diversity, not old fashioned morality. The 22 year old man can get AIDS and expect the Veterans Administration to take care of him at taxpayer expense because he is an honored veteran.

Or you can live your life in humbleness, wait until you marry a person of the opposite sex to have sex, stay in school, work hard, take care of your children and live a long, decent, honorable life. Few actually give up being Christian to become Muslim.

In Iran people who convert from Islam to Christ actually face the death penalty. People who preach the word of God also face the death penalty. In Iran, long prison sentences, real torture and the death penalty are not idle threats. Despite this persecution, people are still coming to Christ because they see that everywhere in the world where Islam in the dominant religion there is poverty, despair, torture, and a lack of freedom. Defense Jobs

Jobs created by the Department of Defense are good high paying jobs. They should be jobs that stay in America. Unless there is a major reason why we have to buy an item overseas for defense, then we need to buy it here in the USA and it should be made in the USA with American labor using American materials, and components. The first reason for this is in time of major conflict we need to insure that we can get the items to our troops. A conflict with China will mean that anything we buy for defense that is made in China will be denied to our troops, be it berets or bombs.

Having a strong economy is part of having a strong defense. That is another reason why military items need to be made in the USA as part of our having a strong economy. The manufacture of ball point pens, computers, rifles, rockets, nuclear weapons, nuclear submarines and hats, coats, shoes and books needs to be done here as they are all essential in a major war.

The companies that make these products should not be subject to additional regulations that are irrelevant to the finished product. There should not be set asides for minority businesses, businesses owned by women, businesses that practice diversity or any other regulation that does not directly result in a better or less expensive high quality product for our troops. Reducing irrelevant regulation will allow these same companies to better compete in the civilian market. It will also provide lower costs for the tax payer. Defense companies should be able to concentrate on their core competencies of making tanks, trucks and armored cars, not trying to find enough women who want to be diesel mechanics to suit some Federal regulator; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

US is Falling Behind

Under the Obama Administration the US has fallen in global competitiveness. Several reasons were cited for this, government spending is too high, and people don’t trust the government being two major reasons. Both of those I lay at the feet of our president. We need higher ethical standards for both government and industry. We need a government that will stop trying to manage industry. Unless industry is doing harm, then the government needs to leave them alone.

Too much of our tax code is designed to manipulate business behavior. The Obama Administration likes green business so people get tax credits for new windows, weather stripping and other green upgrades. If these upgrades make sense then people don’t need a tax credit to do them. This type of interference in the free market system only distorts the economy and distracts us from where we need to be, taking care of our core businesses.

The government tax system should have as its primary goal, raising money to run the government. We need to stop manipulating behavior by tax regulation. We need to eliminate most laws about discrimination so companies can hire fire, promote and demote on any factors they choose to use. We need to eliminate the Department of Energy, the Department of Education, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Most of what these agencies do can be done better by the states, other Federal agencies or not done at all. That alone could save us $100 billion dollars. Prune back the Federal Government, let industry grow, that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Keep Gitmo Prison

Another former detainee from Guantanamo Bay prison has been killed while fighting for our enemies in the War on Islamic Extremists. There have been more than sixty of these prisoners released only to have then return to the battlefield. How many American lives and how many of our Allies have been killed by these people who have been released and later returned to the battlefield?

President Obama as one of his first acts as president signed an executive order to try and close this prison within a year. That was three years ago, it was great theater and got lots of favorable news coverage. Now that we are finding these same enemies in the field conducting active resistance against the US and our Allies, suddenly the main stream media has nothing to say about that. President Obama has failed again, failed to live up to his campaign promise to close Guantanamo Bay prison and failed to keep us safe by keeping these enemy combatants locked up.

Some say we should have a Value Added Tax. If we get a VAT in the US it will work like this: Unionized companies won't have to pay the VAT because the Democrats will exempt them to spur Union membership. We will not change the income tax except to delete the interest deduction for mortgages and lower the rates, for about four years, and then we will raise the rates again. The VAT will not be revenue neutral it will dramatically increase revenue, thereby increasing the power of the Federal Government.

States will also demand a part of the VAT so the Federal Government will give it to them, along with a bunch of strings, like collective bargaining for all state employees. In the end our taxes will be higher and we will have more government control. What we really need is a 10% tariff on all good imported from any nation that does not provide freedom of religion to its people. So all Communist nations like Vietnam, Communist China, and all Islamic nations, like the ones where the oil comes from will pay the tariff. That will make American goods cheaper in comparison and help to protect American jobs, perhaps even spur religious freedom in other nations.

Then we need a flat tax with no deductions and everyone pays on all income from any source including welfare, inheritance, rent, wages, tips, capital gains, everything of 10%. You fill out a total gross income statement on a 3X5 card and drop it in the mail once a year with a check. And if you are Exxon, or a welfare mother in Detroit you can do your taxes in five minutes without help. God took 10% from the widow and everyone paid the same percentage, with no deductions. For years our federal government under President Obama has been piling up debt. There are only several ways out of this hole. Increase taxes on people and corporations. We could take everything the rich have and still not balance the budget, so that won’t work. We could cut spending. About half of the people get checks from the government so that could be political suicide until that number is reduced.

The only alternative is to create inflation. Inflation makes the cost of everything increase. It makes the value of all goods increase. If the value of real estate increases, then homeowners can borrow more money and don’t have to have their homes foreclosed. Wages will go up and so income taxes will increase from everyone because their wages will be higher. Those who owe money will see the value of their debt and the percentage of their net worth compared to their debt decrease.

The flip side is that those who have saved money will see the value of their savings disappear. People who have money will lose out. People who are in debt will gain. The government is in the greatest amount of debt and they will gain the most. Working people will make more money but wages always lag behind inflation and so will see real earnings decline, even as their wages increase. This year will see a 3% increase in Social Security spending because of inflation, that’s the first time in several years. I think inflation will only get worse and could be a huge problem in the next few years, that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Psychological activists are trying to get main stream psychologists to state that pedophilia is not a criminal act, but rather a mental orientation. First you make them a disease, and then you make it impossible to bring any moral judgment against those who have this disease. Many Americans are dismayed at the prospect of voting for a Republican or a Democrat. There are several reasons for this dissatisfaction. Both parties tend to run for office by catering to their base during the primary, then move to the center during the main election. Once elected they generally rule from left of center for the Democrats and just to the right of center for the Republicans. This leaves both the leftist Democrat base feeling betrayed and the conservative Republicans are disappointed by their elected officials too.

As a result of this dissatisfaction, many on both ends of the spectrum say they want a third party that more closely reflects their view. I think the real problem is with the parties themselves. We have too many compromise candidates, too many who are managers rather than leaders, and too many in the main stream media that only try to tear down the establishment no matter who is in office.

As a result, people feel dissatisfaction with the two parties. Adding a third party will not help. It will only split the vote and give the other side the chance to win. A conservative third party will take votes away from the Republicans and allow the Democrats to win with fewer votes. A liberal third party will only split the leftist off and allow the Republicans to win. America is really divided into thirds, left, right and center. Each end of the spectrum takes about half of that moderate center and so our elections are often a coin toss. President Obama Fails Again

As a presidential candidate, President Obama told us he would work to create a world free of nuclear weapons. How’s that working out? Seems to me it’s not working at all. Iran is still working towards building nuclear weapons. North Korea is still building nuclear weapons. President Obama address both of those nations before he was president, criticized the Bush Administration for their failure to convince those nations to stop nuclear weapons development.

Now we find out that Communist China is expanding their nuclear weapons arsenal. The Communist Chinese have been engaged in a massive conventional arms buildup for years. Now that they have aircraft carriers, anti-ship missiles and stealth fighters, they are working on improving their nuclear weapons.

As the USA continues to export jobs and billions of dollars to Communist China, the Chinese are using that expertise and money to build weapons to deploy against the USA. During the Cold War with the Soviet Union we did not intentionally finance their arms build up. The Communist Chinese government continues to build up their military. There is no end in sight to their military buildup. They are not making their military larger; they are making it more capable. The Communist Chinese keep claiming more and more of the sea near China as their economic zone and are now trying to make it into an exclusive military zone as well.

The Communists have added aircraft carriers and anti-ship missiles to their fleet. They are working towards being able to deny access to Chinese waters to American aircraft carriers. This will further isolate Taiwan and enable Communist China to put pressure on Taiwan. The United States has pledged to defend Taiwan in the event of Chinese Communist attack and by adding aircraft carriers, anti-ship missiles and stealth fighters to their military inventory the Communist Chinese made that defense much harder.

This is all happening at the same time the Americans are considering massive cuts to defense. President Obama is winding down the war in Iraq and intends to have all the troops out by the end of the year. We were told we had to cut defense because of the War in Iraq. Now that the Iraq is over, why do we still need to cut defense? Defense is one of the few tasks the Constitution requires of the Federal Government. We need to be increasing our defense budget to take on this challenge, not cutting spending; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Alabama Workers Leave State As Immigration Law Takes Effect

Liberals spread several lies about immigration. They say that illegal aliens don’t take jobs away from Americans. They say that illegal aliens don’t depress the wages of Americans. They say that enforcement of immigration laws will not really reduce the number of illegal aliens in the US. They say that the Federal Government should enforce immigration laws because it is not the duty of the states to enforce immigration laws.

Those lies have been exposed in Alabama where the state immigration law has been upheld in large part by Federal courts, so it’s not just the job of the Federal Government apparently. There have been complaints that some farmers have been unable to harvest crops because of a lack of workers. They are saying the farmers are being forced to increase wages to lure Americans to do those harvesting jobs. So those jobs were underpaying the market rate for labor and wages were depressed because those jobs were being done by illegal aliens.

Alabama schools have reported that hundreds of students, maybe more have left school. The implication is that they are leaving because their parents don’t want to be deported. I have long maintained that if local law enforcement and local governmental agencies all worked together with the Federal government to detect and deport illegal aliens they could essentially all be gone within two years time. We have a right to protect our nation from intruders. We need immigration to keep our population growing at a healthy rate. We need to make sure that those who come here intend to become good Americans, speak English, pay taxes, have jobs and act as good citizens; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Diplomatic Bungling

All the troops are coming home from Iraq. The war is over, we won and Iraq is a safe and free fully functioning democracy with a free market economy and religious freedom for all with no further need for American troops. Or not. American troops are leaving, not because there is no need for them. American troops are leaving because the Obama Administration failed to negotiate a status of forces agreement with the Iraqi government. A status of forces agreement means American troops are not subject to Iraqi laws, but American laws. Since President Obama was not able to come to that agreement, he had to withdraw the troops.

There is a huge need for US military forces in Iraq. The insurgency is not yet over. The Iraqi police and military are still in need of military assistance, particularly in the areas of training and logistics. There will be thousands of American contractors, diplomats and others there for years. We should have maintained US troops there to help protect them.

Iran keeps helping the insurgents to make weapons and to flee back across the border to Iran from Iraq. American forces along the border would prevent a significant attack on Iraq by Iran. American forces would be able to act as a trip wire to prevent an Iranian attack, just as they did in Germany for years. President Obama will try and make this the fulfillment of a campaign promise as a way to mask his inability to successfully negotiate with the Iraq government. The main stream media will ignore or blur the facts to assist his presentation of this failure as a success, that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

We often read about children in Africa being used as soldiers there in civil wars. What we have overlooked is children being used in the culture wars here in the United States. In recent days some people have said they are worried that US may start a trade war with China if we implement laws on currency regulation. The Chinese have been keeping their currency undervalued so they can export more to the US and other nations. A recent documentary done by Chinese television showed Chinese Communists Army employees waging cyberwar against organizations here in the United States. The Chinese have been stealing American technology from companies that do business in China. They infringe on patents and copyrights too.

For a long time many have complained that the Chinese have been trying to hack into American computer systems. Now we have proof that they are doing that. Not only are the Communist Chinese hacking into our systems they are doing the hacking using students at schools that are run by the Peoples Liberation Army. Official government hacking into the private computers owned by American citizens is a real cyberwar, not a potential trade war. A teacher posted their person opinion on Facebook. The post was made on his own time, on his own computer, from his own house. The teacher expressed his opinion that same sex marriage was against his moral principles and that he did not like to see pictures of two men kissing.

Someone who is not in any of the teachers classes complained and the teacher was suspended. Teachers have a right to freedom of speech, just like anyone else. As long as their opinion is written on their own time, on their own computer, what business is it of the school district?

The person who made the complaint was not a student in the teachers’ class. If the teacher is doing his job properly, then why does the school district care what he does on his own time? As long as he was not advocating anything illegal then I don’t believe the school district should do anything about his off duty web posting. He is not advocating drug use, he is not backing Islamic terrorists, he is not doing anything other than expressing an opinion that is held by the majority of Americans and billions of people worldwide. It’s none of the school districts business and the teacher should never have been suspended. Hilary Swank, and Jean-Claude Van Damme made hundreds of thousands of dollars entertaining the head of Chechnya on is birthday. So they are not averse to travelling to foreign nations, even if they have been the scene of recent wars and ongoing terrorism. They are not averse to travelling to nations where the majority of the population is Muslim.

Have they been to Iraq or even Kuwait to entertain the US troops stationed there? Or do they travel overseas only when there is a substantial amount of money to be made? Our nation has soldiers stationed all over the world. Many major stars entertained the troops overseas in other wars.

Bob Hope entertained troops in the Second World War, Korean War and the Viet Nam War. Marilyn Monroe entertained the troops in the Korean War. Ann Margaret entertained the troops in Viet Nam. I think that if Hollywood stars want to travel overseas, they should travel to places where American troops are waiting for them. Herman Cain

Herman Cain seems to be a true conservative, but his lack of political experience and his conservative nature often make it seem he believes differently than he does.

For example, gun rights and abortion. He is pro second amendment and pro life.

However,

He does not believe as a strict conservative that the Federal Government should be writing laws about civilian firearms ownership or abortion. He would return those powers to the states.

So while he would not give us in California more rights, he would give people in Tenn and Texas and other conservative states, more rights than they have now. In California our abortion laws are very liberal and our firearms rights are infringed upon every legislative session. He would not change that, but he would take away Federal restrictions that would permit states to do what they want on those issues. He would prefer more firearms freedom and no abortions, but would not impose that view on the states as president.

This is truly a conservative position. Many of us who are conservative want to do what the liberals have done, force the states to do what we want done. Rather it seems to me Herman Cain would get the Federal government out of our business, which is a good thing.

I don't have any association with his campaign, but this is my interpretation of what I have heard him say in many interviews and debates. That is why he seems to say contradictory things. He is opposed to abortion but would not stop the states from making abortion legal. He seems to me to defer to states rights on most domestic issues.

I suppose the real questions to him should be more directed towards the operation of the Federal government and not what he would allow states to do. Also I would like to know if he would support the Right to Life Amendment to the Constitution, that would eliminate abortion and not interfere with states rights. While I would prefer a more activist conservative, he certainly does generally reflect my view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

A group that represents US military chaplains has come out and said they will never perform same sex marriages under any circumstances. The Roman Catholic Church has also said they will not perform same sex marriages under any circumstances either. I am pleased that so many chaplains are taking a stand against the perversion of the sacred rite of marriage.

This will come back to haunt them in the future. At some point, now that DADT has been rescinded, homosexual groups will continue to press their agenda. They will try to get either the President or the courts to force chaplains to perform same sex marriages. If they are unable to do this, they will simply use other methods to achieve their goals.

One method they will employ is to insure that those chaplains who don’t perform same sex marriages are not permitted to either join or stay in the service. They will deny chaplains promotions, write poor evaluations of those chaplains, and will harass them for their beliefs. Active homosexual behavior is immoral. Active homosexual behavior is not compatible with service in the American military. We need to restore decency in the American military and rather than restore DADT, we should deny the right to serve to those who are open, active, homosexuals, as we have done since George Washington commanded the Army; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

When people speak in favor of abortion they generally have only a few arguments in favor of the procedure. These arguments are readily rebuttable. People should not control what I do with my own body. This is false on the face of it. We don’t let people take illegal drugs. We don’t let people commit suicide. We don’t let people take certain drugs or have operations performed except under the care of licensed professionals. We don’t let women have sex for money. The government controls a large part of what you do with your body; abortion is only an extension of that control.

People argue that illegal abortions will happen and they will put women’s lives at risk. I argue that women’s lives are at risk now with legal abortions. The government does not keep statistics on how many women are killed, maimed or left sterile after abortions. The abortion lobby prevents such reporting from happening. Many women are left with psychological scars after an abortion, even though is it legal. If abortion is illegal perhaps women will follow the law and either not have sex, use birth control to avoid getting pregnant, or give birth to the baby if they do get pregnant. There are many option to abortion, and I believe that women are likely to be good citizens and follow the law.

Some claim that women who are having an abortion are avoiding having a child that is unwanted. Just because the child is unwanted by the mother when she is a few months pregnant does not mean she will not change her mind once she holds the baby in her arms. Perhaps if our society valued children more they would not be unwanted. There is a huge shortage of babies available for adoption. To get a healthy white baby typically requires a wait of as much as four years. There are plenty of people who want to adopt children. There is also the fact that many fathers want their children to be born. Now the woman has the sole responsibility to have a child or have an abortion. The father may want the child even if the mother does not what it. Our society needs to value our children more; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Experts tell us that we are going to experience global warming. They tell us that the results will be catastrophic. We are told we must change the way we live so that fifty years from now the temperature will not have risen two or three degrees. These experts tell us we have to give up big houses, our personal cars and using fossil fuels. It’s the usual liberal litany of cut back, destroy the American lifestyle, and restrict free enterprise.

In the 1950’s we were told that America and the world would be out of oil by about 1970. We were told in the 1960’s that the population “explosion” was so severe that the Earth would be in a state of collapse by the 1980’s. I remember when I was a kid, back in the 1960’s we were told by “experts” that we were entering another ice age. We were told that we might face mass extinctions and ice could cover much of the land masses of the world and that we needed to prepare for it in the future.

I also remember that twenty years ago we were told that Japan was rising and would be a superpower soon. We were told that we might have to give up American dominance in the Far East because Japan was on the march. Japanese business knew all there was to know about business, their politicians were experts and America was in decline. Now twenty years later, none of that has happened. I don’t put much stock in long range projections by experts. Beyond a year or two, I don’t think the experts know anymore about what’s happening than the rest of us; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Iran has conspired to murder the Saudi Ambassador to the United States as well as Israelis and others here in the United States. The Iranians tried to use a drug cartel to carry out the assassination for them. This is an outrage and in my opinion is an act of war against the United States, Israel and Saudi Arabia. The fact that the plot was uncovered and foiled does not make in any less despicable.

The United States should at the very least, with the help of Saudi Arabia, Israel and any other allies who will help us, raid Iran with the intention of destroying their ability to make, use or research nuclear weapons or nuclear power. We should destroy their gasoline refineries and other power generation systems. The United States should even consider an invasion of Iran with the goal of regime change. Simply putting another strongly worded memo in their file is not enough of a response.

The US should also declare war on the Mexican drug cartels. We should form special units of the Border Patrol to deal with this clear and present danger to the safety and sovereignty of the United States. We should immediately complete the border fence between the United States and Mexico. All states should be encouraged to require their local police to deport illegal aliens, as they now do in Alabama. The United States should not simply prosecute a couple people and write a few nasty memos; that will have no effect; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.
