Victory

President Obama keeps telling us he is going to  "degrade and destroy" ISIS.  Somehow that does not seem inspirational.  Degrade them sounds like we are going to make fun of them, or perhaps we are going to gradually wear them down.

It is good to here that he intends to destroy the enemy, but he does not seem to know who the enemy is in this war.  He claims they are not Muslims.  ISIS says they are Muslims.  If you are not sure who the enemy is, how can you destroy them?

"In war there is no substitute for victory," said General Douglas MacArthur.  Degradation does not seem like victory.  Even a pledge to destroy ISIS does not actually sound like victory.  Where is the victory?  What will victory look like?  What are our goals in the war against Radical Islam?  How will we know when we have won, when we don't even know who we are fighting or what our victory conditions are?  Degrade and destroy is no substitute for victory; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.
