Why is shooting an animal worse than killing a cow in a slaughterhouse?  Traditionally, animals killed by hunters are eaten, and all the various parts used for leather, etc.   Hunting licenses also are used to pay for rangers, habitat preservation and wildlife management.

There are more deer in North America now than when Columbus landed because of fees paid for by hunters.  Hunting a male lion permit costs $25,000.00 plus all the various fees for the safari, etc, typically $1,000 per day.

How do you expect the poor people of Africa to make a living without hunting?  Farming destroys wild animal habitat.  Poaching pays a lot, and wastes animals.  How many non-hunters do you know who have donated $26,000+ for African wildlife preservation?  Hunting is actually good for animals; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.
