Election 2016

For a time I got behind on my blogging on Hysterical Right Wing.  My intention is to make up for some of that time.

I liked Rick Santorum in the Republican Primary election, but he lost out very quickly.  I also had hopes for Ben Carson, although I thought he needed more experience as an executive; still I liked his strong pro-life stance.

Eventually, I determined the Donald Trump was the candidate that I needed to support.  One thing about politics is that your candidate has to win to be effective.  No one listens to number two the day after the election; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Make Up Time

For a time I got behind on my blogging on Hysterical Right Wing.  My intention is to make up for some of that time.  This posting and going forward for the next several "months" were actually written a long time after the date indicated.  So this posting is being written in early August, 2016.

Copyright

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l94v4YOqxOc

In the last couple years I have been watching movies and TV shows that are based on the Star Trek franchise.  These are not from Paramount, they are from fans of the various Star Trek universes.  They are being made without the intention of making money.

Since they are made freely available, their contention is that Paramount has no basis to take copyright action against the makers of these fan films.  Paramount can't claim these fans are making money, so Paramount can't claim they are losing money.

I think some of these films are terrible, and some of them are great.  Overall, I think these films are filling a need that copyright law has prevented until now.  Limiting these franchises to Paramount only, essentially forever, is a bad idea for society.  Copyright is too long and should be greatly shortened, particularly when the public is not receiving a benefit from the copyright; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

No Thanks Mitt

http://www.aol.com/article/2016/03/03/mitt-romney-is-frying-donald-trump-in-an-epic-speech/21322312/

http://www.caintv.com/rmney-2012-trump-shows-an-extr

Mitt Romney is a typical RINO Republican.  In 2013 he told Americans how wonderful Mr. Trump was and how happy he was that Trump endorsed him. He told us that Trump has created jobs and called out Communist China for cheating on trade agreements.

Now Mitt Romney is complaining about Trump.  He is calling Trump a phony and a fraud.  So which of these two is a phony and a fraud?  If Romney thinks Trump is a phony and a fraud, why was he so happy with his endorsement a few years ago?  The real opponent of Republicans is Hillary, not Trump.

This is simply more of the Republican establishment running to the defense of the status quo.  This is what I have been hoping would happen for a long time.  The power of the Republican power brokers is being broken by the people.  The same establishment that gave us Dole and McCain, and Romney; a list of losers who could not get the White House.  Now they are worried about someone getting the presidency that did not go through their process, someone who is not a career politician who is tied to their machine.  RINOs care less about the nation then about their political power; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Election Advice

Ben Carson has all but dropped out of the race for President.  He has still provided some excellent guidance to the remaining active candidates.  He says they need to stop bickering among themselves and start working to defeat the Democrats.

President Reagan used to say, "Thou shalt not speak ill of other Republicans."  He was correct in that just as Dr. Carson is correct now.  The opponent is Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders.  Each Republican candidate must unite in the goal of defeating a Democrat for president.

When Donald Trump first starting running for president he made a pledge that he would support the nominee, even if it was someone else.  Now other Republicans are making noises that they won't support Trump if he is the nominee and would even vote for Hillary.  This is one of the reasons Trump is doing well, Washington insiders want one of their own to win, no matter the party; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

President

Politics is the art of the possible.  It's nice to have a presidential candidate who is perfect, but that's not possible.  As Republicans and Democrats we have both been given candidates who are far less than perfect for most of us.

Trump said early in the campaign that he might run as a third party candidate and the Republican party went ballistic; they were concerned he would split the party and guarantee a Democrat would win.  Now that it looks like Trump might actually win the nomination, many Republicans are saying they may vote third party, or dis-avow a Trump nomination.

When you go to the shop to get your brakes fixed, the most important thing is that the repair guy is good at fixing brakes.  It does not matter if he has had three marriages and four bankruptcies.   We are looking to hire a new president.  No one in the field of major candidates is perfect.  Still, Trump is running as a Republican and will be better than any Democrat.  We need a Republican president; Carson, Trump, Rubio, Cruz, anyone buy Hillary or Sanders; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Political Campaigns

In the ideal political campaign the politician should never say anything bad about his opponent.  He should only say what his positions are on the issues.  The job of the candidate is to sell his product, himself, to the voters.

In the ideal political campaign the politician should never send his minions to disrupt the opponents rallies.  In the free market of ideas we should be free to compare ideas without the distraction of people shouting and protesting.

In the ideal political campaign every dime contributed to the candidate would be made public.  The name and city of the donor and the amount they have given should be public knowledge.  There should be no limit on how much money an individual can give.  All money should be given by individuals, not unions, businesses, or other organizations; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Police Deaths

Eleven police have been killed in the line of duty so far this year.  Last year it was March before the first officer was killed in the line of duty.  The President sends representatives to the funeral of thugs who get killed attacking police.

The FBI investigates local police departments, even when there is no evidence that they did anything wrong; despite local and state investigations already in progress.  The media ignores attacks on police or downplays them.

This weekend a young police woman was sworn in on Friday.  She worked her first shift on Saturday, and was killed before the shift was over.  The President did not speak to the nation about it, and the celebrity who won an Oscar spoke about global warming.  Another sign our nation is in decline; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Scare the RINOs

Donald Trump keeps winning elections and caucuses.  The establishment and RINO Republican politicians finally seem to be interested in working together to fight a common foe; Donald Trump.  They can't fight radical Islam, but they can fight an outsider.

I don't know if Donald Trump would be a very good president, I have many concerns about his social agenda.  I don't think he cares about abortion, and stopping the homosexual agenda among other things.

I do believe he may be good for the economy.  I think he may be able to stop some of the inbreeding and corruption in Washington.  There are too many insider deals and special privileges given to elected officials and their friends.  I hope the establishment gets scared enough of Trump to change their ways, but I doubt it; that's that view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Hillary Investigation

Recently on Facebook I have seen an anti-Hillary Clinton meme that says "those who are under criminal investigation should not be allowed to run for office until they are cleared of all charges."  This seems very appealing because Hillary Clinton is an unsympathetic character and most conservatives don't want her to run for election.

If an unscrupulous person were running a law enforcement agency, they could come up with a reason to investigate almost anyone.   That would give them a veto over almost anyone running for office.  Any state or local police organization could prevent someone from running for president, governor or other office, just by opening an obviously unfounded, politically motivated investigation.

Even if it were only for Federal crimes, that means the FBI could be used as a political tool to falsely accuse people of crimes, only to clear them just after the election.   I loath Hillary and I think she is guilty, but we are innocent until proven guilty and our rights should not be taken until we are proven guilty.  We lose our rights to run for office, vote, or own guns only when convicted, not accused; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

RINO vs Trump

Recently, Donald Trump has been winning elections.  I am now reading articles that Carson and others need to drop out of the race.  They are not being told to drop out because they have no chance of winning.

They are being told to drop out for the good of the party.  They are being told that Trump is bad for the Republican party.  The party elites like to control who runs and what they do when they are office.

That's exactly why people like Carson and Trump are running in the first place.  That's why Trump in particular is doing well.  Conservatives, both Republican and independent are glad to see Trump run because he is not part of the Republican in Name Only power struggle.  I am not convinced Trump will be the best choice for president, but I am glad he is a wake up call to the Republican establishment to stop taking conservatives for granted; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Insiders

Jeb Bush has dropped out of the race for President.  I think this is a good thing.  We should not select presidents from a tiny group of Washington insiders.  His father and brother were already president and that plenty for any family.

Hillary Clinton should also drop out of the race for President.  It's bad for the nation to have a husband and wife as president.  We have 300 million people in the nation, certainly we can find someone from a family that has never been president.

Too often we have been electing Washington insiders as President.  We need people with experience in the real world.  People who served in the military, people who owned and built businesses.  We need people who have had to live under the laws created by Washington; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Autopsy

I had a conversation with some people about Justice Scalias' death.  Many of them are complaining that there was no autopsy.  They are concerned that a 79 year old man with high blood pressure and a heart condition has died in his sleep.  They claim there is come conspiracy to murder him so that President Obama can stack the court.

These same people, if there was a autopsy would claim it was faked.  They would say it was all part of the conspiracy.  They would say that Obama's minions were able to murder the justice and then fake his autopsy.

There was no murder.  There is no conspiracy.  Our nation has many problems, and many of them are directly the result of President Obama and his terrible policies; both foreign and domestic.  There is no way to keep a conspiracy of that magnitude under wraps for very long and anyone would be foolish to try such a thing; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Communist Stock Exchange

http://www.bloombergview.com/articles/2016-02-17/congress-is-wary-of-chinese-deal-for-chicago-stock-exchange

A company that is partially owned by the Communist government of China is planning on buying the Chicago Stock Exchange.  They want to gain greater access to American markets and get high technology for Chinese companies.

Neither of those goals is good for the United States or for American companies.  This is typical of the deals that are signed with Chinese firms.  The Communist government owns some small portion of nearly every Chinese company.

That allows them to know everything that goes on in the company.  The Communist government than can help other companies, because they own parts of them.  The Communists can also use the company and their information and skills to further their political agenda; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

RIP Justice Scalia

 http://www.aol.com/article/2016/02/13/supreme-court-justice-antonin-scalia-has-died-at-the-age-of-79/21312334/?icid=maing-grid7|main5|dl1|sec1_lnk2%26pLid%3D68372240

Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia has died suddenly.  He was a constitutional conservative appointed by President Reagan.  He has stood by his conservative principles and not legislated from the bench.

This is a test for the Republicans who control the Senate.  Are you a Republican or a RINO?  Can conservatives count on the Republicans standing firm in their principles or not?  We don't need anymore progressive, liberal, far left judges on the court.

They need to block ANY nomination by Obama until after the election.  Period.  It's time to play hardball or get out of the game.  Any Republican who votes for an Obama nominee should be kicked out of the party; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Obey The Law

 http://www.policeone.com/social-media-for-cops/articles/74369006-Police-refute-claim-Princeton-professor-was-arrested-due-to-race

If you don't believe the police should arrest people in obedience to an arrest warrant, when should they make an arrest?   If you don't believe arrest warrants should be issued for parking tickets, then have the state legislature change the law.

The professor had nothing happen to her that does not happen to most people in similar circumstances who get arrested for a minor crime.  Obey the law or pay the fine or suffer the consequences.

Police are reactive, and only get involved when people violate the law.  Enforcing minor laws is all part of their job, what is the alternative?  Maybe she should slow down a bit so she does not get stopped for speeding, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Victory

President Obama keeps telling us he is going to  "degrade and destroy" ISIS.  Somehow that does not seem inspirational.  Degrade them sounds like we are going to make fun of them, or perhaps we are going to gradually wear them down.

It is good to here that he intends to destroy the enemy, but he does not seem to know who the enemy is in this war.  He claims they are not Muslims.  ISIS says they are Muslims.  If you are not sure who the enemy is, how can you destroy them?

"In war there is no substitute for victory," said General Douglas MacArthur.  Degradation does not seem like victory.  Even a pledge to destroy ISIS does not actually sound like victory.  Where is the victory?  What will victory look like?  What are our goals in the war against Radical Islam?  How will we know when we have won, when we don't even know who we are fighting or what our victory conditions are?  Degrade and destroy is no substitute for victory; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Gasoline

The summer blend of gasoline used in California is supposed to burn cleaner.  It also costs more so the state gets more sales tax, since sales taxes are based on total price. There is also a separate tax per gallon, and we pay the sales tax on the per gallon tax too; tax on tax.

No one else uses this blend. We have only one refinery in Southern California and they won't let us build more refineries here in California due to over-regulation. So companies build refineries in other states and then truck or pipe the gasoline here, to further increase the cost.

The liberal Democrats don't want you to have a car, they want you to ride in a public bus.  A public bus driven by a union bus driver, so they can control where you go and when you go there.  We need to drop the summer blend and use the same gasoline as everyone else; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Responsibility

President Obama had two years of Democrats in control of the Congress.  He did not stop the wars, close Guantanamo, or do much else for those two years.  Democrat President Harry Truman used to say, "The buck stops here."

Part of being a leader is to take responsibility and to set the example.  President Obama has failed to do that in his presidency.  President Obama simply tries to pass off blame onto President Bush.  Even it if was Bush's fault, it's Obama's responsibility once he took the oath.  If he could not get the job done, then he should not have run for a second term.

I believe that President Obama has failed to do much of what he promised to do in either of his runs for office.  Our nation is worse off in almost every measure.  We still have major wars in the Middle East, our economy is very slow, more people are on food stamps than ever, and vast numbers of people have given up even looking for work.  Jimmy Carter is now the second worst president we ever had; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Japanese Jesus

https://churchpop.com/2016/02/02/japanese-christian-art/

Since we don't have a description of Jesus we cannot know what he or the Apostles looked like other than speculation. I actually like that different cultures interpret Jesus in their own style, culture and race because it makes Him more the Savior of all Mankind, rather than just one type of people.

So when I get a Christmas card that shows a Black Baby Jesus, or a Hispanic one, or some other type of Christ Child, I am pleased that all people can celebrate Him together; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Fences and Jobs

To build a wall with Mexico we put a tax on every transaction that sends money out of the country. Mexican illegal aliens send about $20 billion to Mexico each year. A 10% tax would bring in $2 billion per year. That buys a lot of fencing.

Many American factories closed and were shipped to Communist China, and Americans lost their jobs. US companies did that because the Chinese hourly labor costs were less, fewer regulations on almost everything, and much lower taxes. If we cut taxes, decrease regulations and put a 10% tax on everything imported from China, then many of those jobs will come back to the USA. Nothing is free. Do teachers and doctors work for free? How do you pay them if health care and college is free? You take money from other people in the form of taxes. That causes more people to stop working or take jobs overseas. It also increases prices because costs are increased by increasing taxes.

What jobs will all these college educated people be doing? How will your degree in gender studies translate into a nation with more jobs? Bernie Sanders has never worked for anyone in his life nor has he ever run a business. I have done both of those things and know how business works. Higher taxes kills jobs; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Homeless

Once convicted of homelessness, I would not put the homeless in regular jails.  I would create a new system of low security housing, based on the old open bay barracks of the military.  The inmates would be required to do all the maintenance themselves.

The guards would monitor everything by camera and could respond whenever someone is in distress or in a fight.  The inmates would do all the food preparation and dish washing.  The longer they are there, the more training they would receive to maintain the facility.

They are there because we treat stray dogs better than we treat the homeless.  People who are so mentally ill they can't make it in society should not be tossed away like trash.  They need to be cared for and helped along their path; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Jail the Homeless

Being homeless should be illegal.  It should be illegal because many homeless people are addicted to drugs or alcohol.  Many homeless people are mentally ill.  A fair portion of them are addicted and mentally ill.

If they are arrested, then they are put in jail.  In jail they get a clean, dry, warm bed.  They get free meals, three times a day.  They get free medical care for whatever illness they have.  They get free clothing and they get to bathe.

People arrested for being homeless should be tried like anyone else accused of a crime.  They should then be sentenced, depending on the number of previous convictions of homelessness and drug abuse status.  A first offense should bring only a couple days and night in jail.  Just enough to get cleaned up a bit.  A second offense, should get a month in jail.  Third offense, three months, and a fourth and subsequent offense a year; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Debates

Donald Trump is staying out of tonight's Republican presidential debates.  I have not been happy with the debates from any of the networks.  Rather than be an opportunity for the electorate to see the various candidates present their views and policies, they have become opportunities for the media to abuse the candidates.

The moderators make speeches, and try to get the candidates to argue with one another.  They are more interested in pressing a liberal agenda and making the candidates look bad then they are about informing the people.

I think the Republican party should host the debates.  They should select whoever they want to ask the questions.  They should have all the Republican candidates in the debates, even if they are low in the polls.  As long as a candidate makes it to the ballot he should be able to debate.  The party should host the debate and then allow the networks to show it, unedited and live, and rotate through them; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Hunting

Why is shooting an animal worse than killing a cow in a slaughterhouse?  Traditionally, animals killed by hunters are eaten, and all the various parts used for leather, etc.   Hunting licenses also are used to pay for rangers, habitat preservation and wildlife management.

There are more deer in North America now than when Columbus landed because of fees paid for by hunters.  Hunting a male lion permit costs $25,000.00 plus all the various fees for the safari, etc, typically $1,000 per day.

How do you expect the poor people of Africa to make a living without hunting?  Farming destroys wild animal habitat.  Poaching pays a lot, and wastes animals.  How many non-hunters do you know who have donated $26,000+ for African wildlife preservation?  Hunting is actually good for animals; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Student Loans

Colleges are making lots of money off of student loans.  The government uses taxpayer dollars to loan money to students that they spend on college tuition.  The colleges then employ staff and make a profit on the deal.

The students are then stuck with large loans and in a soft job market have little incentive or ability to pay them back.  Many students get the loan payments deferred so they are not paying on the loans at all, often for years and sometimes never pay them back.

The colleges should loan the students the money from their own funds.  As it is now, the schools have no stake in the outcome of the students lives.  If the student never graduates, the school has their money.  If the student never gets a job in their field of study, the school still has their money.  If the student never pays back their loan, the school still has their money.  The only one in the system who  has no risk is the school; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Terrorists

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-34814203

France has very strict gun controls.  Of course, bombs and grenades are outlawed for civilian use.  Despite this a group of Islamic radical terrorists murdered at least 130 people and injured over 350 more people.

Some of them had traveled to Syria and back again.  They had been identified as possible terrorist suspects, but this was useless information to sit in a file rather than stop their behavior.  They had been posting on social media that they believed in jihad.

The people of Paris were innocent civilians going about their business.  No different from the people in the Charlie Hebdo attacks.  The West has worried too much about humanitarian concerns when we should be worrying about victory in the war; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

No Serious Debate

Every election cycle the main stream media will always do several things.  The Communist Party, USA will endorse the Democrat nominee.  The main stream media will report it once and then ignore it.  The KKK and Nazi's will endorse the Republican nominee.  The main stream media will play this up and ask the candidate about it, over and over again; hoping the nominee will make a mistake in his response.

The Republican nominee will be depicted as unintelligent.  Rather than debate his ideas, the media will interview people who will tell us he is "stupid," and an "idiot."  It's easier to call people names than it is to debate their ideas.  Labeling them as ignorant means they don't need to be debated.

The media will complain that the Republican nominee hates women.  They will talk about how the nominee disrespects women, does not pay them enough money, and generally dismissed women as unequal to men.  Again, they won't debate particular policies, they will simply try to give the impression that Republicans are racist, ignorant, women haters.  They have done this at least since the Reagan Administration; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Covet Not

You shall not covet.  Don't lust after things that are not yours.  Don't long to have that which is not for you to have.  Longing and lusting often result in actions.  Lust for a woman can lead to adultery.  Longing for things often leads to theft.

There has been a whole political campaign of late, based on covetousness.  Give us free college.  Give us free healthcare.  The government cannot give anything that it has not first taken from someone else.

Free exchange of material possessions is freedom.  God asks that we be good stewards of the gifts he gives us, but he asks, not forces us to help others.  Charity that is forced is not charity.  Charity must come out of the goodwill of the giver; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Navy

http://news.usni.org/2015/07/09/navy-studying-implications-of-distributed-lethality-in-wargames-series

The American Navy is too small.  Our navy is smaller than it was before Pearl Harbor was attacked by Japan, in 1941.  As recently as the Reagen Administration we had a 600 ship navy.  Since that time we have whittled away at it as the need for a large navy has increased.

As a result of this tiny navy, they are looking at ways to make the navy do more with fewer ships.  They are adding weapons to ships to make more ships able to defeat enemy ships and planes.  Ships designed for specific purposes are now intended for more general combat.

For over a decade we have been at war.  We fail to use the force needed to end the war.  We neglect our navy so we can't fight a conventional war.  Russia and Communist China are moving into deep water again and we not ready; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Truth

You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.  Everything from perjury to gossip is rife in our nation today.  Even a recent president perjured himself in a court hearing.  Whole websites are devoted to gossip.

By bearing false witness you destroy a reputation.  By speaking things that you don't know to be true you destroy what can take a lifetime to build, an honest person trying to live an honest life.  Perjury is so common now that it is seldom even prosecuted in courts any longer.  It is expected the accused will lie to avoid conviction.

Truth is from God, and when we lie we move farther and farther from truth and from God with each lie.  It is important to tell the true.  We not only risk damage to other people's reputation, but also damage to our own soul; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Say No to Castro

President Obama has recognized the government of Cuba.  He wants to normalize relations with them.  He is exchanging ambassadors and opening our embassy.  He is hoping to normalize trade with them and do other things that will help the economy of Cuba.

He has done this without any concessions from Cuba.  The sanctions were put in place because Cuba is run by a brutal dictator, Fidel Castro and his brother.  They have murdered people and put thousands of people in prison.  Cuba is so bad people risk their lives to get here for freedom.

The sanctions should have stayed in place until the Castro brothers died.  Then we should have done our best to force political change in Cuba.  The Cuban people deserve freedom, not continued Communist oppression.  President Obama has done the people of Cuba a dis-service by recognizing the Castro government; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Theft

You shall not steal.  It is not right to take things that don't belong to you.  That's very simple, very straight forward and clear.  Yet often people try and justify theft.  There is no justification for taking from other people.

What if I steal bread from the baker to feed my starving children?  What happens to the bakers children?  Will they starve if their fathers food is stolen?  What happens when your children are hungry again tomorrow?  Will you steal again?

What if the baker resists having his bread stolen?  Will you harm him to get it?  Will you break another commandment and murder him?  Every situation is different, but the rules are the same, don't steal; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

No Adultery

You shall not commit adultery.  Don't have sexual relations with anyone unless you are married to them in the eyes of the church.  This would eliminate all homosexual sexual relationships.  It eliminates all incest, and rape.

Think of all the unwed mothers who would no longer be either unwed or mothers.  That alone would solve so many problems in our society.  Think about the marriages that would be saved if people did not have affairs.

Think about all the domestic violence and even murders that would not happen if people stayed faithful to this commandment.  The ten commandments were written for our instruction and learning.  They are written to make stable societies, happy families, and good people; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

No Murder

You shall not murder.  The word is murder, not kill.  Sometimes it gets translated as kill, but that is incorrect.  God commands us to kill to enact justice, as in the execution of a murderer.  He also commanded the Israelite's to make war and David was inspired to kill Goliath.

Murder is the destruction of an innocent person; a person who is made in the image of God.  This is why abortion is morally wrong, it is the killing of an innocent person.  Jesus says we are to love our neighbor as ourselves.

It is immoral to murder our neighbor and immoral to murder ourselves, that is to commit suicide.  We should never kill unless it is morally justified.  Hating someone who is innocent is also a form of murder, it kills there personality as an individual.  Violence should only be used when other methods have failed to resolve a problem and the issue is one of life and death; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Honor Your Father and Mother

Honor your father and your mother.  Ask a group of thirteen year olds if they do this all day every day.  I suspect if they told they truth they would all say they do not honor their parents.  Children are being told in the media and even in the schools to think for themselves and do what they want.

If we ask older people, if they honor their father and mother, we might also get another answer.  Do you take care of your older parents?  Do you listen to them when they talk to you, or do you disregard what they say?

Do you think you know more than they do because they can't operate the latest computer, or maybe can't drive any longer?  Our parents deserve respect and honor.  Our society has failed to do that, to the point were we now simply consider them a bother.  They get put in a "home" or even sent for euthanasia.  That's not honorable; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Monkey Business

There are a million and a half abortions in the USA every year.  Many of those are late term, even full term abortions.  Some of those result in the death of the woman.  The US government spends a billion dollars on abortions every two years.

While humans are being thrown out into the trash, lawyers are working hard to give human rights to chimpanzees.  Great apes are not human.  Great apes are animals.  Great apes are not made in the image of God.

Animals rights people say things like chimps have 95% of the DNA of people.  Of course they do.  Most mammals are very similar life forms.  With millions of pieces of DNA it only takes a small percentage to make a huge difference.  Chimps are not people.  Chimps don't get human rights; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Sabbath

Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.  One day a week should be set aside to worship the Lord.  We should go to church so that we can be with other Christians.  The people are the church, not the building, so be with other Christians, doing Christian things.

God has given us our whole lives, if we are grateful we should give a small part of it back to Him.  Read His word, worship in his church and spend some time in thought, thinking about Him.  In general, we should not work on the Sabbath.

It is important to spend time with God.  If you love someone, you spend time with them.  You need to be there to be reminded of how important God is to your life.   When we set aside one day, we are able to focus on the most important thing in our life; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

#3

You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.  Words and names have power.  Taking the name of the Lord God in vain is a powerful expression of your thoughts towards the Lord.  Casual swear words cheapen our relationship with other people and with God.

When you know someones name you have a relationship with them.  It is important that your relationship with God be a good relationship.  Using the name of the Lord as a swear word is a poor way to have a good relationship.

God should be respected.  God should be worshiped, not used as a bad word.  God should be the focus of our lives, not the focus of a bad relationship.  We are created in the image of God and God loves us.  It is important that we respect the Lord; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Graven Images

You shall not make idols.  Do not make graven images that you worship.  Don't make your own gods.  There is already a God of the universe.  We don't need to make another.  Too many people in the past worshiped statues of carved wood or stone.

Today people worship other things.  They often worship their own bodies.  They watch every morsel they eat, they worry over every chemical or vitamin they eat.  They go to the gym every day and never miss an opportunity to look in the mirror or take their own picture.

It is important to take care of ourselves.  But we should not worship our bodies.  We need to worship the Lord God.  We need to insure that in our desire to stay healthy we also keep spiritually healthy.  We need to keep our focus on God, not just on ourselves; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

#1

You shall have no other gods before Me.  The first commandment.  Don't worship the false gods of fame or fortune.  Many Americans try to become famous.  Sometimes they even try doing things that are evil, just for the attention.

A girl with a purple hairstyle is saying "Look at me."  She worships the god of fame.  She wants to be noticed, to be famous, even if it is just for purple hair.  She has given up the worship of the Lord God and instead longs for the transitory delights of fame.

A man works hard to earn money.  He works day and night.  He works at work, and during his commute.  He works holidays and weekends.  He has given up worshiping the Lord God and instead longs for the false security of fortune.  There is nothing wrong with wanting to be liked by other people.  There is nothing wrong with taking care of your family and obligations.  Neither of these should be the focus of our lives; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

New Years Resolutions

January first is a new year and often seen as a time of new beginnings.  How about we try and do just ten resolutions this year.

  1. You shall have no other gods before Me.
  2. You shall not make idols.
  3. You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.
  4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
  5. Honor your father and your mother.
  6. You shall not murder.
  7. You shall not commit adultery.
  8. You shall not steal.
  9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
  10. You shall not covet.
If we all only did these ten things, our lives would be greatly improved; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.
