Gun Violence

 http://www.aol.com/article/2015/10/11/gun-violence-researchers-becoming-an-endangered-species/21247776/?icid=maing-grid7|main5|dl2|sec3_lnk4%26pLid%3D-1374900072

This story is bemoaning the lack of researchers in "gun violence."  This supposes that violence perpetrated by a gun is substantially different from violence done with a knife or other weapon, or even without a weapon.

"Some believe there's little hope Congress will do anything substantive to reduce gun violence, regardless of what scientists find."  This quotation shows the bias of the writer.  As if bringing Congress to action is the goal of gun research.

Shouldn't the goal be to reduce inappropriate violence and maximize appropriate violence? A gangster killing a bystander is bad violence.  A police officer shooting a bank robber who is holding hostages is not bad if he can save the hostages.  The main stream media hates guns and they don't want you to have one; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.
