Most Federal firearms laws should be repealed.  The states should be left to regulate firearms in accordance with the Second Amendment.  We have tens of thousands of firearms laws and they have failed to make us any safer.

One Federal law that needs to be passed is a reciprocity law that allows residents of one state with a concealed weapons permit to carry a gun in another state.  Your driver license and your marriage license are good in all fifty states, even though each state has different criteria for issuing them.

I do believe that the permits should only be issued to residents of that state, so a resident of California should not get an Iowa CCW permit.  I also think the permit should have a limited shelf live out of state, say a month.  These rules are in keeping with most driver license laws and I think they are reasonable; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.
