Gang Violence|main5|dl2|sec3_lnk3%26pLid%3D-1879686411

The headline says that a 12 year old boy was struck by a stray bullet.  That's not true.  A 12 year old boy was killed in a gang crossfire.  The bullet is not to blame.  The bullet is not the problem.  The problem is gangsters that think it's okay to shoot at each other in broad daylight.

The problem is a criminal justice system that puts gangsters back on the street.  The problem is penalties that are too light for the nature of the crime.  Gangsters usually bring drugs.  Many gangsters get convicted of non-violent drug related offenses.

Now that California has cut the penalties for many drug offenses, these criminals are back on the streets.  Being a member of a gang used to be a crime.  It should be a crime again and it should bring a long prison sentence; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.
