Robots have a lot of value in the civilian world.  I think that disabled people who use wheelchairs, or crutches would be much better off if they could be carried by a robot.  Robots can go up and down stairs and can go places wheeled vehicles can never go.

Imagine if every person who uses a wheelchair could have a robot pair of legs to replace their damaged legs.  It would mean the end of ramps, elevators and other expensive architectural modifications.  It would mean billions of dollars in work, manufacturing robots as aids to people who have mobility problems.

This technology needs to be developed in the United States, and it needs to stay in the United States.  We need to keep it from Red Chinese military and industrial espionage.  We need to insure it is manufactured here, and not in other countries.  The benefits need to be for Americans, since Americans are paying for the development of the technology; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.
