Baltimore Problems

A video was posted of the problems in Baltimore, Maryland.  It shows protesters confronting a line of police officers.  The protesters are throwing items, and yelling.  They walk right up to the officers, who stand impassive in a line.

What other member of society is expected to stand by without moving or speaking when people violate their personal space, wave signs in their face, thrust their hands into their face, all the while threatening and throwing things a them?

Would you do this to your neighbor?  Your doctor?  Your waiter or waitress?  Your passerby on the street?  I recognize the right to protest, but I also think in a civil society we should not forget common courtesy, even when protesting; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.
