Gun Rights

http://www.informationdissemination.net/2015/04/the-fork-in-road-at-lexington-green.html

The American Revolution started at the end of April when the American militia and the British army traded shots at Lexington and Concord.  The British were there to seize and destroy American weapons and ammunition.

The individual right to keep and bear arms was the touchstone of the American Revolution.  The British were requiring gun registration.  They were then seizing guns that had been registered.  They were preventing Americans from having guns.

One of the first things an oppressive government will do is take guns away from their citizens.  The intention is to prevent citizens from rising against the government.  It also prevents citizens from defending themselves from criminals; which forces people to rely on the government.  The Second Amendment to the Constitution protects all the other rights; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Catholic Marriage

http://www.catholicdoors.com/misc/marriage/matri.htm

Roman Catholics represent the largest single group of Christians in the world.  What do they teach about marriage?

2392 "Love is the fundamental and innate vocation of every human being".

2393 By creating the human being man and woman, God gives personal dignity equally to the one and the other. Each of them, man and woman, should acknowledge and accept his sexual identity.
2394 Christ is the model of chastity. Every baptized person is called to lead a chaste life, each according to his particular state of life.
2395 Chastity means the integration of sexuality within the person. It includes an apprenticeship in self-mastery.
2396 Among the sins gravely contrary to chastity are masturbation, fornication, pornography, and homosexual practices.
2397 The covenant which spouses have freely entered into entails faithful love. It imposes on them the obligation to keep their marriage indissoluble.
2398 Fecundity is a good, a gift and an end of marriage. By giving life, spouses participate in God's fatherhood.
2399 The regulation of births represents one of the aspects of responsible fatherhood and motherhood. Legitimate intentions on the part of the spouses do not justify recourse to morally unacceptable means (for example, direct sterilization or contraception).
2400 Adultery, divorce, polygamy, and free union are grave offenses against the dignity of marriage.
That's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Women in Combat

 http://www.military.com/daily-news/2013/11/14/pt-standards-in-question-for-women-in-combat.html

The USMC said they would never reduce standards for those who want to be combat Marines.  Now the Marines have been unable to get any women through their courses and are talking about reducing the standards to make that happen.

They will say the standard is being "changed" or "revised" not reduced.  They will say the standard will reflect the new realities of the battlefield of today.  One technique is to drop the standard that is a problem.  If women can't climb an 8 foot high fence, then just eliminate fence climbing for everyone.  That way they can claim the standard has not been lowered.

The other thing that happens is the command says to pass these recruits.  And by some miracle, everyone will pass.  What constitutes a push up?  Perhaps climbing the high fence can be done with a little push from below.  If the politicians command it, our Marines will make it happen, no matter the deleterious effect on national security; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Baltimore Problems

 https://www.facebook.com/blakprophetz

A video was posted of the problems in Baltimore, Maryland.  It shows protesters confronting a line of police officers.  The protesters are throwing items, and yelling.  They walk right up to the officers, who stand impassive in a line.

What other member of society is expected to stand by without moving or speaking when people violate their personal space, wave signs in their face, thrust their hands into their face, all the while threatening and throwing things a them?

Would you do this to your neighbor?  Your doctor?  Your waiter or waitress?  Your passerby on the street?  I recognize the right to protest, but I also think in a civil society we should not forget common courtesy, even when protesting; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Baking a Cake

If I own a bakery and I am Jewish, I should not be forced by law to make a cake for Hitler's birthday.  If I am homosexual, and I own a bakery and I don't want to bake a cake that celebrates natural marriage, I should not have to do that.

If I am Christian and I own a bakery, I should not be forced by law to make a cake celebrating a homosexual marriage.  If I am Black and I own a bakery, I should not be forced to bake a cake for the KKK.

If I am the owner of any private company and I don't want to provide services to anyone or any group, I should not be compelled by the government to provide those services.  I should only be required to provide services if they are of a life saving nature and then only until the patient is stable and could be transported to another facility.  Baking a cake, or taking wedding pictures are not life saving procedures; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Dogma

“...one who accepts all Catholic dogmas in their Catholic meaning and lives the life involved, is thus protected practically from permanent or fatal error in the rest of the Faith.”  Hall

Religion must be accepted, and then practiced in order to be effective.  Many Christians are baptized as babies and then never go to church again.  What benefit do they expect to receive from that practice?

Many Christians don't know what the dogmas of their faith are, so when they are challenged by non-Christians, they don't know how to respond.  Knowledge is power and knowledge of the Bible and the tenants of the faith are critical to defend against the world, the flesh and the devil.

If we have faith, repent of our sins and endeavor to live a sober and godly life we will be saved by Jesus Christ and live forever with him in heaven.  Our churches must stop trying to be fashionable and trendy and instead stand for Biblical truth; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Mentally Ill People vs Police

http://www.aol.com/article/2015/03/23/supreme-court-considers-impact-of-disability-law-on-police/21156315/?icid=maing-grid7|htmlws-main-bb|dl1|sec1_lnk3%26pLid%3D631833

The Supreme Court is trying to figure out of the Americans With Disabilities Act applies to police officers who are trying to arrest mentally ill people.  There are advocates who say that the police should make a reasonable accommodation for those with mental illness.  They say that police should use less force when dealing with mentally ill people.

This argument is absurd on it's face.  First, police can't reasonably know if someone is mentally ill, on drugs, or willfully misbehaving.  Police can't be expected to endanger themselves and the public in order to accommodate mentally ill people.

What we really need is better care for the mentally ill.  Many of them need to be locked up.  Many need to have medications that last longer than one day.  Many need to be off the street, rather than wandering homeless; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

9:11 a.m.

Every day I blog the blog entry posts at 9:11 in the morning.  I do this as a reminder of the 9/11 attacks on the United States.  I do this as a reminder that since the beginning radical Islam has been spread by the sword.

The whole Middle East used to be pagan and later, Christian.  When we read about the cities in the New Testament, they are mostly in the Middle East.  They were filled with vibrant Christian churches.  Now most of those Christians are gone. They did not willingly convert to another religion.

Just like today they were driven out or killed, because they are Christian.  In the free market of religious ideas, Christianity always wins out.  That's why in Islamic nations it is illegal to preach Christ, to convert to Christ, and often to be a Christian.  Remember that radical Islam as been at war against the United States from the beginning of the nation with the Barbary Pirates hijacking ships, and murdering and kidnapping Americans, an activity that continues to this day; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Weapons

http://defense-update.com/20150206_alasa.html?utm_source=Subscribers&utm_campaign=55b3a5ff70-Daily_News10_5_2014&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_3e00b99948-55b3a5ff70-165211545#.VNfKpTgtFes

The Russians and the Communist Chinese have been working on space weapons and the US Air Force is looking for ways to launch micro satellites into orbit.  Space weapons are difficult to deploy and hard to get them to works.

Launching micro satellites is a great way to overwhelm them or to replace satellites that have been destroyed or otherwise failed.  Micro satellites are also a great way to be able to deploy a capability that was not needed until an emergency required a satellite for that particular orbit.

Space is the high ground and in war the high ground is important.  It allows communication and reconnaissance.   The US needs to continue to develop our advanced weapons because it is the only advantage we have over our potential enemies; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

What The People Want

In a democracy the people are supposed to vote for representatives who then carry out the wishes of the people.  The judges insure the laws meet the standards of laws in the constitution and that the agencies of the government follow the laws.  The executive administers the laws and does the people's business.

Yet, in recent years, the government has not followed the will of the people.  The courts have made laws rather than interpret laws.  The majority of the people wanted prayer in the public schools.  Yet the courts took that right away.

The majority of the people don't want welfare to be a lifetime career and an inter-generational program, yet that's happened and we still have the poor.  The people wanted jobs, not jobs shipped overseas, yet the executive keeps bringing more free trade agreements.  Our government needs to do a better job of doing what the people want, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

War

“Battles are not won by arms alone. There must exist above all else a spiritual impulse-a will to victory. In war there can be no substitute for victory.”  Gen. MacArthur

The United States won the First World War and the Second World War.  We fought very hard and we mobilized the whole nation towards the goal of destroying the enemy and achieving victory.  We did not stop the war part way through because it got hard to win.

We did not stop the war because we lost a lot of men or because we had killed a lot of the enemy.  We kept going until the enemy came to us and asked to surrender.  That is how a war is supposed to be prosecuted.

If you can't or won't mobilize the nation in a drive to victory, then you should not go to war.  If you are unsure of your goals in the war, then don't go to war.  The President must be able to articulate the need for war, explain it to Congress and request a declaration of war; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Moral Decline

General Douglas MacArthur warned in a speech to the Salvation Army, December 12, 1951, stating: “History fails to record a single precedent in which nations subject to moral decay have not passed into political and economic decline.  There has been either a spiritual awakening to overcome the moral lapse, or a progressive deterioration leading to ultimate national disaster.”

Since that warning the United States has enacted no fault divorce and our rate of divorce has skyrocketed.  The US has made the birth control pill legal and yet, unwanted pregnancy has skyrocketed.

The US has legalized the morning after abortion birth control pill and yet, unwanted pregnancy has continued to rise.  The US has legalized abortion and yet, the numbers of abortions have increased to over a million per year.

The US has legalized same sex marriage and now people are advocating for polygamy and pedophilia to be legalized.  Our nation has suffered moral decline, moral decay and is still under attack by the perverse among us; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Allies

http://thediplomat.com/2015/03/japans-new-helicopter-carrier-bad-news-for-chinese-subs/

All over the world America's allies are re-arming.  They are building up their military forces because the United States has allowed it's military forces to dwindle down to pitiful levels not seen since before World War Two.

The United States also been an unreliable ally in the past few years.  Iraq has been overrun by enemies and we have done little to prevent it.  Afghanistan is also under grave attack, but we are doing little to help save them too.

Russia invaded Ukraine, despite assurances from both the US and Russia that Ukraine would be respected.  The US has done essentially nothing.  The Baltic states are worried about Russia too.  The US has been a poor ally of late; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Kill the Innocent, Save the Guilty

There are over 700 convicted murderers on death row in California.  Our state legislature can't figure out how to execute them.  The gas chamber, electric chair, and firing squad are all too painful, too horrible to contemplate.

They are unable to find a reliable source for the mix of drugs they need to execute murderers.  The people have voted over and over again in favor of the death penalty, yet they just can't figure out how to implement it.  Inmates languish on death row for decades until they die of old age.

Yet, there are a quarter of a million of abortions in California.  Somehow the state figures out how to kill the innocent, but can't figure out how to kill the guilty.  Now they have introduced a bill to kill the elderly and the infirm.  They want to make euthanasia legal in California.  They can find more ways to kill the innocent, but cannot figure out how to kill the guilty.  Another dereliction of duty by our legislature; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Kill the Old People Act of 2015

 http://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billNavClient.xhtml?bill_id=201520160SB128

SB128 would make assisted suicide legal in California.  It would have doctors kill people.  The job of doctors is to heal people.  It is the job of doctors to fight against death, not to give in to death.

Even the pagan ancient Greeks understood the duty of doctors is to help people.  First, do no harm.  We have forgotten that in medicine today.  We have doctors perform executions, abortions and now assisted suicide.

The insurance company and the government health plans will pay for assisted suicide.  They will save money be not having to pay for expensive treatments and palliative care.  I suspect they will stop covering many treatments so that assisted suicide becomes an even more attractive option for people.  Honor thy father and thy mother.  You don't honor them by killing them; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Climate Change

http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/the-brontosaurus-is-back1/

Climate change believers tell us that 98% of the paper published support the theory of global warming being caused by mankind's actions on the Earth.  They say that we must change our whole lifestyle to prevent disaster.

Climate change believers tell us that the science is settled.  They say there is no reason to continue the research on climate.  They tell us that those who deny climate change are to be censored.  The science is settled, there is no more reason for disagreement or argument.

100 years ago there was a dinosaur called the Brontosaurus and another one called Apatosaurus.  At the time a scientist declared that the Brontosaurus was really an Apatosaurus, and others piled onto that theory.  It became accepted as fact, the science was settled, Apatosaurus deniers were ridiculed.  Recently, scientists using new technology discovered that the Apatosaurus and the Brontosaurus really were two different animals.  Think about that when you hear that the science is settled; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

US Navy

http://www.defensenews.com/story/defense/show-daily/sea-air-space/2015/04/12/submarine-virginia-class-ohio-class-replacement/25537589/

In the Second World War the US Navy had over 200 submarines built for it.  Today in the next 15 years the Navy is contracting for the construction of a few dozen submarines.  People will argue that submarines today are more capable then they were in WWII and they would be right.

Still, numbers have a value that transcends technology.  You can't have submarines in three places if you only have one submarine.  Certainly, nuclear missiles mean that submarines can destroy cities almost anywhere in the world.

Cruise missiles can help support the land war and take out enemies who are not close to shore.  Yet, it is proximity that is important for many of these weapons.  Venezuela, North Korea, China, the Middle East, the Baltic's, the Mediterranean Sea are all places where US Navy submarines might be needed.  We need a larger navy; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

ACA Statement on Marriage

From A Christian Declaration on Marriage

This statement is endorsed by the ACA

We believe that marriage is a holy union of one man and one woman in which they commit, with God's help, to build a loving, life-giving, faithful relationship that will last for a lifetime. God has established the married state, in the order of creation and redemption, for spouses to grow in love of one another and for the procreation, nurture, formation, and education of children.

The Scriptural basis for the above statement has been accepted for centuries and need not be reviewed here, but recent civil actions and court rulings reveal a fundamental lack of understanding of the nature of marriage in our time.

The Creator of all things established the marital partnership as the foundation of human society. Accordingly, marriage is by divine ordinance and by its very nature a constituent and a sacrament of community, and the basis of a sound society. This bond, then, which is essential for the good of the married parties, of their children, and of society itself, does not depend upon the "private choice" of the partners alone, but is inherently social and communal. It is for this reason that human societies everywhere and at all times have established institutions to promote the dignity, prosperity, peace and well-being of the family.

By their very nature, marriage and married love are ordained for the procreation and subsequent nurture of children, as well as for mutual comfort and support. Thus marriage can exist only between one man and one woman in an exclusive, lifelong union. Other relationships can and do exist - some innocent and some blameworthy - but whatever they are, they are not marriage.

Municipalities, states, countries and other political entities can choose to enact statutes attempting to contradict these truths. To do so can establish only their legal autonomy, not their rectitude or their wise policy. To defy nature and truth will always carry a price over time. When one jumps off a high structure, nothing very bad happens for a number of seconds - just enough time for the unwise to revel in soaring with the birds. What our society needs now is the wisdom and humility to abandon our childish willfulness, and to submit to what our Maker has ordained for us.

The issue is much more than a conflict between God-based and purely secular definitions of marriage. Even many who take no position on the sinfulness of the recent perversion of marriage recognize it as problematic.

Highly recommended reading: Same-Sex 'Marriage' and the Persecution of Civil Society, by Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, author of Love and Economics: It Takes a Family to Raise a Village.

This is also the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Marriage

Genesis 23 & 24
"The man said, "This is now bone of my bones, And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.  For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh."

God commands us to love one another.  He does not command us to have sex with everyone we love.  God wants us to be happy with one husband or one wife.  He wants us to live as one man and one woman, together forever.

That message is plain all through the scriptures.  It is no coincidence that the creation of woman follows soon after the creation of man, because it is not good for a man to be alone.  It is also no coincidence that Jesus performs his first miracle at a wedding.

There is no Christian basis for uniting two people of the same sex in holy matrimony.  No matter what state legislatures may decide, no matter what people may vote for, no matter what the courts may say, marriage is between one man and one woman, who have reached the age of majority, have consented to the marriage and are outside the limits of consanguinity; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton has announced she is running for president.  Jeb Bush is considering running for president too.  I believe that we should not have an oligarchy running the nation.  I think it was wrong for the second George Bush to run for president.

I think that we need new people in Washington.  We don't need the same tired old faces rotating in and out of the White House.  We don't need to select from a tiny click of people, and particularly select from people in the same family.

I think it is particularly egregious for Hillary Clinton to run for president.  As a former First Lady she should have devoted her offices to public service performing some greater good. Certainly their could have been a homeless shelter, or research into a dreaded disease that could have benefited from her assistance in fund raising and administration.  By running for senate, by being Secretary of State and now by running for President again I think she is simply demonstrating her arrogance, her pride and her desire for power; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Rich Got Richer

The richest American saw their incomes increase last year, the bottom 80% saw their incomes decline.  It is good news that the rich are getting richer.  It is bad news that the poor and middle class are suffering.

The government needs to work on job creation.  That does not mean government jobs or government subsidized jobs.  It means creating real jobs that create real wealth.  Rather than require transfer payments, encourage the rich to invest their money.  Encourage them to buy airplanes, yachts, new houses and fancy cars.

Middle class people can then be employed flying airplanes, making yachts, selling houses, customizing cars and doing other good paying jobs.  We need to move away from the politics of envy, and covetousness.  We need to encourage the rich to employ people, to give to legitimate charities, and to bring jobs back from Communist China; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Jobs

http://cnsnews.com/news/article/ali-meyer/americans-not-labor-force-exceed-93-million-first-time-627-labor-force

The percentage of the American labor force that is not working is over 60%.  There are over 90 million American adults who are not only not working, but they are not even looking for work.  Some of that can be explained by Americans getting older and so they are retired.

The greatest explanation is that Americans have stopped looking for work because there is no work to be found.  Unemployment has remained high and most of the reason it has been falling in the last few years is that people are giving up looking for work.

The US needs to bring back jobs from overseas. We need to develop new technologies and keep their manufacturing here by cutting taxes, cutting regulations, and giving every possible incentive to create jobs.  We need to turn on our economy, create millions of jobs, deport illegal aliens so those jobs go to Americans and get people working again; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Liberal Media

Over the last few years of watching television with my wife I have told her about the liberal media slant that is shown in so many television shows and movies.  One show we like is Bones.  It's a crime drama about a woman forensic scientist who works with her husband an FBI agent to solve murders.

He is depicted as a conservative Roman Catholic and she is a dispassionate, atheist.  When the show started there was a bit of give and take between them and sometimes one or the other would make a point in their favor.Over the years the show has drifted and the true colors of the liberal media have shown through.

The FBI agent lived with a woman without benefit of clergy.  He had sex and even a child with the woman without them being married.  Now their witty repartee has been reduced to the atheist lecturing the Roman Catholic on the logic and benefits of atheism and the foolishness of Christianity.  The FBI agent is reduced to replying with little more than a shrug and a grunt.  The liberal media makes everything political; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Pro-Life

http://www.lifenews.com/2015/04/06/pro-abortion-obama-attorney-general-nominee-loretta-lynch-gets-republican-support/

President Obama is trying to get a pro-abortion nominee for Attorney General through the Senate for confirmation.  The Republican party platform has an anti-abortion plank in it.  The majority of Senators are Republican.  It would seem she is doomed.

But wait.  At least five Republicans have come forward and said they are willing to vote for her nomination.  Why is that?  This has been the problem with Republicans for the last 40 years.  They don't follow their own stated principles.  This is way people say there is no difference between the two parties.

Those Republicans who vote for her should face strong challenges in the primary and should not get national Republican money in their re-election.  The Republican leadership needs to discipline their members and get them on board with the platform.  We voted Republican because we are pro-life, having them vote pro-abortion is a betrayal of that vote; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Women in Combat

http://www.military.com/daily-news/2015/04/05/surveys-special-operations-troops-doubt-women-can-do-the-job.html?comp=1198882887570&rank=2

Surveys show that American special operations troops doubt that women can do the job as well as men can.  They are also concerned that the standards will be lowered so that women can qualify for the job.  The military already uses a multi-tiered physical fitness standard with lower standards for women and older soldiers.

Of course they will lower standards.  Gays serving openly in the military and women in combat has nothing to do with combat effectiveness.  It has to do with political correctness.  It has to do with getting women and gays into positions of power that they have been denied.  No general ever said we would have won a particular battle if only we had more women or homosexuals in our units.

I have seen them pass women who were not qualified only because they were women.  They will officially or unofficially lower the standards until they get the number of women they want in these units no matter what the cost in readiness; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Brontosaurus

http://www.popularmechanics.com/science/animals/a14948/the-brontosaurus-is-back/?src=TrueAnth_POPMECHANICS_TW&utm_campaign=trueAnthem%3A+Trending+Content&utm_content=5523c87704d3015452000001&utm_medium=trueAnthem&utm_source=twitter

The science is settled.  There is no reason to discuss the issue any longer.  Anyone who does not view these facts the way we do is simply denying the truth.  The people who think that way should be censored and their views not published.  I have heard all this about global warming.

People who support global warming don't seem to know how science works.  You create a hypothesis, make predictions based on the hypothesis and then collect data to compare to the prediction.  Then you refine your hypothesis.  It is a continuous process.

We see this today with Brontosaurus.  He was found to be an Apatosaurus.  The science was settled, everyone knew Brontosaurus was defunct.  Until scientists looked closer at the data and found that maybe he is a real dinosaur after all, and not an Apatosaurus.  Maybe science should look at global warming again too, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Term Limits

Pay every elected official minimum wage.  If you want to serve the nation as an elected official you should not become rich as a result.  Public service is just that, a service you perform for others, not for yourself.

Millions of Americans volunteer as firemen, police, crossing guards, candy stripers, and for their church and for homeless shelters.  I see no reason to pay elected officials hundreds of thousands of dollars per year.

Elected officials should get two terms per life.  They should be allowed to run for re-election one time.  If they are appointed and serve a partial term, that still counts as one term.  They should not be allowed to run for any other elected office as long as their present term of office has not expired.  No more sitting senators running for president.  No more governors taking time off the job to run for senate.  If you want the job, do it until your term is finished; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

California Drought

I am ashamed that California has not built a new reservoir in over 30 years, despite population growth. I am ashamed we have three million illegal aliens here drinking our water. I am ashamed that we live next to the largest ocean in the world and don't desalinate water.

California is in a desert.  We have cyclical droughts, the present drought is not an anomaly.  Droughts like this have happened before and they will happen again.  Despite this our government fails to plan for them.

We rarely use gray water for irrigation.  We keep trying to take water from other states, but do little to improve our own water storage  ability.  We don't do much to prevent rain water from flowing into the ocean, rather than soaking into the ground.  We need to do a better job of managing our water; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

NATO

Much of Eastern Europe has joined NATO after being freed from Soviet domination for 50 or more years.  Now Russia is attempting to regain the lands they lost or gave up when the Soviet Union fell.  First it was Georgia, and they fought a war that resulted in the loss of territory to Russia.

Ukraine has been invaded and large parts of their sovereign territory have been taken by Russia.  Russia continues to take Ukrainian land and support so called insurgents.  The whole Crimea has been incorporated into Russia by force.

Now Russia is threatening the Baltic States and Poland.  The question is, what will NATO do about it?  NATO did all but nothing to help Georgia.  Ukraine received very little help from the West and no weapons because the West did not want to make Russia mad!  Will Germany defend Poland?  Will France defend the Baltic States?  Will the USA send troops to fight a high intensity war in Europe?  I worry that our present president may not; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Nothing To See Here, Move Along

I clicked through the news today and there was nothing in the headlines about the war in Ukraine.  Nothing about the build up of Russian troops and weapons along the border with the Baltic Nations.  Nothing about the new missiles facing the Polish nation.  Nothing about the recent flights by Russian aircraft near NATO airspace.

There was nothing about the girls kidnapped by Boko Harem.  Nothing about the War in Iraq.  Nothing about the civil war in Syria.  There were no stories about the Communist Chinese building an artificial island in the South China Sea to extend their territorial waters.

There was nothing about Iranian troops in Iraq.  Nothing about the civil war in Yemen.  Nothing about the on going war against Muslim extremists in the Philippines.  Nothing to write about concerning the North Koreans on going nuclear weapons research.  Nothing at all that might make Americans worry about our declining national defense posture or that might make President Obama look bad; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.
