Oligarchy

No one should hold any political office for more than two terms.  No one should be allowed to run for office if they already hold an elected office, except to run for re-election one time.  So a Congressman should not be permitted to run for Senate until his term has expired.  He should not be permitted to resign from the House to run for the Senate.

A Senator should not be permitted to run for President until his present term of office has expired.  In private industry we don't pay someone to work for one company while they spend full time looking for a job with another company.  We should not do that in the public sector either.

Public office should be a public service, not a way to get rich, not a way to have a lifetime career, not a way to avoid having to obey the law.  We are being ruled by a pair of oligarchies, one liberal, and one conservative.  We should not be alternating between a Bush or a Clinton in the White House.  We should not have people serving in the Senate for 50 years; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.
