Death Penalty

In 1996 a man murdered a 29 year old police officer for no reason.  His lawyers and his family tried to claim that he was mentally incompetent and that he suffered violent outbursts due to a brain injury he suffered.  Of course, this was only a problem after he was accused of murder.  If he was so bad off, why was he allowed to run free with a gun!

His lawyers complain that he got dementia because he has waited so long for his execution.  One more reason for executions to be done in a timely manner.  I don't believe that trials and death penalties should take more than two or three years to adjudicate and to implement.  Delays only punish the victims and their families further by making them wait.

People who claim to have a mental disorder that prevents them from controlling their angry outbursts are a danger to other people.  They need to be locked up until and unless they can be cured.  I don't believe those lawyers who constantly use diminished capacity as a defense, I think we need to swear in the lawyers too, so they can't lie, and cheat to win their cases; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.
