Aircraft Carrier

Not too many years ago many Americans were complaining that the French were not doing enough to combat Islamic terrorists.  This has changed and they are now operating air strikes against ISIS.  They are using their aircraft carrier to carry out these attacks.

Once again the value of the modern aircraft carrier is displayed.  Only by having the ability to move significant numbers of aircraft to a position to strike the enemy can France hope to play an important role in the war on ISIS.

This is a lesson the the United States as well.  We used to operate scores of aircraft carriers in World War Two.  We operated nearly 20 during much of the Cold War.  Now we are talking about continued cuts in our budget and more cuts to our fleet.  We have fewer ships than we did at the time of the Pearl Harbor attack.  We need to revitalize our economy and increase ship construction, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Not Just Ten Good Ideas

Do you believe in the God of the Bible?  If so, do you do what God commands you to do?  The Ten Commandments are not suggestions.  The very title imply s a relationship to God. He is the Commander who issues Commandments.

We are His servants who are expected to obey His Commands.  Jesus said, in John 14:15 "If ye love me, keep my commandments."  Jesus expects us to do as he has told us to do.  These are not suggestions, they are not optional possibilities.

How much better would our world be if we "did no murder?"  Imagine a world without people doing violence, one against another.  We are told not to steal.  No theft, no embezzlement, no taking of things that don't belong to another.  If our society would only follow the Ten Commandments, the vast majority of our problems would be resolved; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

SGT Bergdahl

US Army Sgt Bowe Bergdahl says he was tortured by those who held him captive in Afghanistan.  He thinks it was so bad that he should not stand trial for desertion and misconduct.  If he deserted in combat, he deserves the death penalty.

How many US soldiers were killed or injured looking for him?  Not knowing if he deserted or was captured?  How many innocent civilians and US troops will die at the hands of the five terrorists President Obama released to get Bergdahl back?  Someone who deserts to the enemy deserves the death penalty.

He wants investigators to take into account his claim that he was tortured by the enemy.  He could receive life in prison for what they have charged him with.  I don't think that's enough.  We have had too many of these criminals, Snowden, Manning, who have failed to do their duty to their nation in recent years.  We need to start making them pay the full price for their crimes; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Kill the Innocent

The day after abortion birth control pill takes innocent lives.  Abortion takes innocent lives.  Assisted suicide takes innocent lives.  Euthanasia of the elderly takes innocent lives.  Euthanasia of people in a vegetative state takes innocent lives.  Euthanasia of the disabled takes innocent lives.

Secular, humanist, liberals seem very interesting in killing people who have done nothing wrong.  They want to kill people who don't seem to live up to their expectation of what life should be about.  Children, old people, and the disabled are just a burden and deserve to die.

Mass murderers, torturers, and kidnappers and rapists, however, deserve to live.  They should never be killed, no matter what the evidence against them.  They should not suffer one minute for the evil deeds they have done.  Secular, humanist, liberals want the guilty to live and the innocent to die; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Thursday, March 26, 2015

Liberals want to kill old people.  They call it mercy killing.  They don't want to see people suffer.  They say it is merciful to kill people who have a poor quality of life.  They say old people are a drain on the economy and they just take medical care that could be used for younger people.

We are created in the image of God.  We are God's children.  It is the lot of man to suffer.  We learn from our sufferings and we can learn from the sufferings of others.  It teaches us compassion.  It drives us to find cures for diseases, and to grow more food for those who hunger.

Suffering is only temporary, like life itself.  We cannot predict the future, so if we kill someone today to end their suffering and a cure is found tomorrow, who have we helped?  Suffering at the end of life is an opportunity for us to prepare to leave this life.  We don't decide when we were born, we should not decide when we should die; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

American Indian School Names

Democrats in the Colorado state legislature want local schools to drop mascots who are based on American Indians.  They think the mascots are racist and want them eliminated from the state.  They want to fine schools that continue to use such mascots.

Local schools should be controlled by local school districts.  The state legislature should mind their own business.  Big government trying to take away the freedom of local school districts to name their schools whatever they want to name them.

Is Colorado so wonderful that the legislature has nothing to do but worry about naming schools?  Are their schools educating children so well that they don't have any child who does not go to college?  This is typical of liberals who want to micromanage the lives of everyone, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Red Light Cameras

The State of Tennessee is considering a bill to ban red light cameras.  I am very glad they are doing this action.  Red light cameras are un-American surveillance on our citizens.  It is an infringement on our liberties.  It places citizens at the whim of robot cameras, not people.

If a police officer pulls you over for speeding, the officer may decide that you don't need to receive a ticket.  Red light cameras always give you a ticket, no matter the circumstances.  Red light cameras penalize those responsible citizens who register their cars and keep a current address on file with the department of motor vehicles.  Scofflaws who don't register their cars can't receive the tickets in the mail.

Some cities have tinkered with the cameras, the yellow light duration and other factors to insure the maximum monetary return.  These cameras are only installed to make money under the guise of traffic safety.  Every state should make them illegal; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

No one should hold any political office for more than two terms.  No one should be allowed to run for office if they already hold an elected office, except to run for re-election one time.  So a Congressman should not be permitted to run for Senate until his term has expired.  He should not be permitted to resign from the House to run for the Senate.

A Senator should not be permitted to run for President until his present term of office has expired.  In private industry we don't pay someone to work for one company while they spend full time looking for a job with another company.  We should not do that in the public sector either.

Public office should be a public service, not a way to get rich, not a way to have a lifetime career, not a way to avoid having to obey the law.  We are being ruled by a pair of oligarchies, one liberal, and one conservative.  We should not be alternating between a Bush or a Clinton in the White House.  We should not have people serving in the Senate for 50 years; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Congressional Reform

Our Congress needs to be overhauled.  They need to know what life is like for most of us in the USA.  They need to prioritize what is important and what is not important.  I have a few proposals:  Pay Congress minimum wage.  Congressmen should not get rich off the job.  It should not be a lifetime occupation, making laws, it should be a temporary condition.  It should be a public service.

Put Congress on Social Security.  That should be their only retirement income, just like most Americans.  They should not get a huge retirement just because they served one term of office, it should be a temporary condition that interrupts their regular private sector career.

Make Congress obey all the laws the rest of us have to obey.  They are exempt from laws on discrimination, and harassment.  If it's a good idea for General Motors not to discriminate on the basis of race, sex, age or whatever, then it should be the same for Congress.  If they have to live under some of these laws then maybe they will see how onerous they can be to business; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

It has been nearly a year since Boko Harem kidnapped 200 girls in Nigeria.  Radical Muslims kidnapped 200 Christian girls because they were going to school.  Radical Muslims don't like girls to go to school.  Radical Muslims don't like Christians either.

This photo of Michelle Obama is what passes for international diplomacy in the Obama White House.  Hold up a little sign while making a pouty face.  This was a useless public relations gesture.  A way to pretend to do something about the situation, without actually doing anything.  In today's world it's more important to pretend you care about an issue than it is to actually do anything effective about solving the problem.

So because President Obmama and Mrs. Obama care so much about the kidnapped girls it does not matter if what they do actually brings back any of these young women to their families.  That's why the media has dropped the issue.  That's why over 100 of these women have been forced to convert to Islam, get married to Muslim men, or be sold into slavery.  Yes, 150 years after the end of the American Civil War and Black women are being sold into slavery, now in the 21st Century.  President Obama wants to make America feel guilty for slavery 150 years ago, but takes no action when slavery happens today.  I guess if the slavers are Black and Muslims they get a pass; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Bradley Manning was a private in the US Army who was convicted of releasing secret information.  He has been sentenced to 35 years in prison; but I think he should have been executed for his terrible crimes.

Now the Army has been foolishly been working towards Manning receiving gender reassignment.  Criminals should not have the luxury of gender reassignment for several reasons.  First, all it does is plays into their mental illness, rather than provide any real medical treatment.  Second, taxpayers should not have to pay for these expensive, elective surgeries.

Our society has lost all common sense.  We have become unable to defend our nation from traitors.  We have put mentally ill in positions of authority and responsibility that they would never have been given decades ago.  We have judges who have lost all common sense and good judgement; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Next Time, Use Bunting

Veteran's baby photo called desecration of US flag -

In recent years it seems to be a trend to allow members of the military services to do whatever they like without criticism.  Certainly, I support the troops and I have even been a member of our armed forces.

In this photo a sailor is holding a baby who is using an American flag as a kind of hammock.  There are many who have criticized the sailor as desecrating the flag.  There are others who claim that it is not a desecration of the flag.

In this photo I don't believe the sailor intended to desecrate the flag. Still, intention is not the same as result.  The flag code says "The flag should never be used as a receptacle for receiving, holding, carrying, or delivering anything."  The flag is holding and carrying a baby.  Clearly a violation of the flag code; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

This blog is made in the USA.  It is all natural and organic.  It only used ingredients that are locally sourced, and cruelty free.  It is sustainable and biodegradable.  It contains no MSG, no trans fats, and is gluten free.

It contains no peanuts, or tree nut products, no soy, no artificial flavorings or ingredients, and is caffeine free.  There are no GMO products and no artificial flavors, colors, or ingredients.  It is dolphin free and made without rBGH.

It is never sugar coated and it's not written in a gun free zone; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Death Penalty

In 1996 a man murdered a 29 year old police officer for no reason.  His lawyers and his family tried to claim that he was mentally incompetent and that he suffered violent outbursts due to a brain injury he suffered.  Of course, this was only a problem after he was accused of murder.  If he was so bad off, why was he allowed to run free with a gun!

His lawyers complain that he got dementia because he has waited so long for his execution.  One more reason for executions to be done in a timely manner.  I don't believe that trials and death penalties should take more than two or three years to adjudicate and to implement.  Delays only punish the victims and their families further by making them wait.

People who claim to have a mental disorder that prevents them from controlling their angry outbursts are a danger to other people.  They need to be locked up until and unless they can be cured.  I don't believe those lawyers who constantly use diminished capacity as a defense, I think we need to swear in the lawyers too, so they can't lie, and cheat to win their cases; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

President Obama wants to sign an agreement with Iran over nuclear weapons.  I think it would be a great idea to sign an agreement with Iran, if I was positive it would stop Iran from building nuclear weapons, and from building intermediate and long range missiles.

I don't believe that this agreement will do anything positive for the United States.  I suspect it will only serve to buy time for Iran to further develop both missiles to deliver nuclear weapons, and the warheads for those missiles.

It will also take away the sanctions from Iran, so they will have a happier and more prosperous nation.  I believe Iran when they say they want to destroy Israel and the United States.  I think that we cannot make a mistake in dealing with them, and I believe this agreement is a mistake; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

In the 21st Century there is no excuse for human trafficking.  We need to take strong steps to eliminate this kind of criminal behavior.  Most human trafficking is for domestic help, factory labor, and sex slaves.

This is an intolerable, and disgraceful crime.  We need to have strict laws against human trafficking.  First time offenders should be in prison for a minimum of five years, and I think a unique sentencing would be appropriate.  Put the traffickers in prison for as long as the prisoners they hold have been slaves.  If they had five slaves for two years each, then add ten additional years to their sentences.

This is one further symptom of our failure to control our borders.  Slaves are brought into this country and their immigration status is seldom brought into question.  Better control of our borders would be another way we can reduce the incidence of this crime, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Gun Free Zone

Many places in our nation are "gun free" zones.  Many individual stores, shopping malls, theaters, schools and many other places are gun free zones, either by law or by their own individual choice.  I support the choice of private property owners to make their property a gun free zone.  With that right comes a responsibility.

If a business makes their location a gun free zone, then they have a duty to provide protection against criminals or terrorists who may enter the location with a gun.  That means they need to have a secure environment, not unlike those found in airports.

Nearly every major active shooter incident in the United States has occurred in a gun free zone.  A little sign, or the threat of a fine will not deter someone from mass murder.  Only careful screening of everyone who enters the venue can prevent a gun free zone from being a major crime scene; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Death Penalty

"If anyone takes a human life, that person's life will also be taken by human hands. For God made human beings in his own image."  Genesis 9:6 from the Bible instructs us that murder is punishable by death.  Murder is the killing of innocent people for no good reason.

Murder should be punishable by death because there is nothing you can do with a murderer that does not endanger other people.  If murderers are housed with other prisoners, how do you keep them from killing the other prisoners?  What additional punishment can you do to them if you won't execute them?

What about murderers who kill guards?  Or murderers who assault guards?  Is it okay to allow guards to be placed in danger for decades because they are guarding murderers?  Giving prisoners fewer and fewer privileges as they attack and kill others?  What kind of life would you force them to lead?  No contact with people?  How do they eat or get medical treatment?  The death penalty should be used on the worst criminals because it's actually more humane for other prisoners, the guards and ultimately for the condemned prisoners; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Death Penalty

Utah is considering adding the firing squad to it's methods of execution.  Right now they only have lethal injection as a method.  The problem is that European nations that don't support the death penalty won't sell the drugs in the United States so that states cannot execute prisoners.

Lethal injection is wrong.  It should not be used to execute prisoners.  Doctors should have the job of saving lives, not taking lives.  Therefore medical procedures should never be a source of execution.  I do believe in the death penalty.  Many murderers deserve the death penalty.  I think those who commit sex crimes should also be executed on the third conviction.

There are fewer than a dozen on death row in Utah.  This in a state with an average of 45 murders per year.  In ten years that's 450 murders, yet few than a dozen on death row.  I think they should be executing many more prisoners; first degree murder should almost always bring a death sentence; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Water Safety

How can we prevent accidental drownings of children?  Teach your kids how to swim.  Even babies can learn to swim.  I think every elementary school in the nation should have a swimming pool and should teach every child how to swim.

Put barriers around the swimming pool.  Pools without a fence are much more dangerous for children.  Always supervise kids when they are swimming.  Supervision means sit next to the pool and watch them in the water.  Don't use the phone, or play a video game or text.  Watch them.

Don't use water toys as flotation devices.  Have the proper tools to conduct a rescue.  A long pole to pull people out of the pool without getting into the water.  Learn CPR so you can perform rescue breathing on anyone who drowns.  Water safety is critical if we really want to save the children; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Accidental Deaths of Children

When a child is accidentally killed with a firearm it's national news.  Certainly the death of a child is a terrible tragedy.  If there is a major cause of death for children we need to be aware of it and prevent those deaths.  Accidental firearms deaths are at their lowest level in over 100 years.

There are several accidental causes of death for children that are much more common for children.  Children are 18 times more likely to drown than to be killed by an accidental gunshot.  They are 22 times more likely to suffocate than to be killed by an accidental gunshot.

Yet we almost never hear about children who drown in the family swimming pool.  Having a swimming pool is much more dangerous than having a gun in the house.  Black children are even more likely to die of drowning than white children.  If we care about the children, if we want to relieve the suffering of minorities, then think more about swimming pool safety rather than gun safety; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Pass the Conservative Agenda

The Republicans are in control of the House and the Senate.  Now is the time to play hardball.  Too often the Republicans have been in charge and they soft pedal their ideas.  The propose a compromise position and then compromise even further in committee.

They need to change the rules to give themselves all the power.  They need to play the political game the way the Democrats have played it.  They need to pass bills with the hard right, conservative position.  Right to life legislation, pro-gun legislation, balanced budget, cut welfare, and open our markets up to free and fair trade.

President Obama has been a disaster for this nation.  The Republicans need to show they are different.  They need to stop compromising and get their agenda passed.  They should not put immigration reform on the bill for DHS, they need to put it on the bill for the EPA or something else that President Obama wants and no one else cares about, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Laws Against Everything

We need to downsize the government.  We need to change our paradigm.  The government does not have to do everything.  Just because something is a good idea does not mean they should make it a law.

There is a woman suing her former employer because she says the company discriminated against her because she is a woman.  She says they don't have enough women in her industry.  Who decides how many is enough?  Why do we care if there are female professional basketball players, or judges, or ditch diggers?

If woman are interested in a certain profession, or if they show an aptitude then let them do the job.  If women are particularly good at it then the companies that do that kind of work will hire them, prosper, and be an example to others who can emulate their ideas.  If women are not good at it, then they won't get hired and can do something else.  We don't need to sue companies to enforce someone's idea of fairness, or equity.  It only serves to make us a less competitive market and jobs will go overseas; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Religious Freedom

What standard do we use for morality?  Does this nation even use a standard for morality?  Does morality even matter.  This nation has traditionally used the God of the Christian Bible as the standard of morality.  Separation of Church and State does not appear in the Constitution, it is not a law and was never intended as necessary by the founders.  It is from a letter by Thomas Jefferson, written many years later.

The founders of this nation were mostly Christians and a few Jews.  There were no atheists, no Muslims, no Hindus.  They looked to provide the greatest amount of freedom to people the world had ever known.  Certainly they were not perfect, they allowed slavery and they did not grant full rights to women.  But they laid the basis to permit rights for women and for freedmen in the future.

There was freedom of religion granted to everyone.  In England at the time membership in the Church of England was generally required, or at least membership in a recognized religion.  Freedom of religion and no recognition of an establishment of religion did not mean no religion in public life.  It only meant that people did not have to follow a particular religion to enjoy the same rights as other citizens.  This was a huge step forward in freedom, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Right now it's not a crime to be homeless.  Who is being served by that?  The homeless people are not being served, they are abused and neglected.  The other citizens are forced to run a gauntlet of homeless people when they try and go to work, or go shopping.

They can be treated for illnesses, fed, cleaned up, clothed.  They could receive counseling and employment opportunities.  They could be give access to all sorts of public and private assistance to help them recover from their problems.

People who are not ill, but just find themselves homeless can be hooked up with social services and released very soon.  People with long term illnesses can be treated for as long as needed.  People should not fall through the cracks.  We can do a better job of helping the homeless; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Thursday, March 5, 2015

Homeless people wander the streets of every large town in America.  They are everywhere.  Shuffling along, pushing a shopping car, mumbling to themselves.  They are disheveled, dirty and smelly.  They often live by doing petty crimes or on charity.  They urinate and defaecate in public.

The homeless are often victimized.  Other homeless people are the largest perpetrators of crimes against the homeless.  They steal from each other.  They fight one another.  They commit sexual crimes against the women and young people.  They suffer from cold, and heat, disease and wind and rain.

It's not a crime to be homeless, but what if it was?  Perhaps being homeless should be a low level crime.  It would give police an opportunity to take people into custody and send them to a minimum security facility, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Homosexuals in the Military

I am opposed to gays in the military.  Homosexuals have high rates of suicide.  It's very dangerous to soldier with a suicidal soldier.  Homosexuals have high rates of AIDS.  Do you want to be the medic caring for gunshot and artillery wound victims with AIDS?  Do you want your squad mate to have a high rate of AIDS, while you live in close quarters?

They have high sexual harassment rates too.  About a year ago they released the sexual harassment complaints in the military.  The liberals were outraged that there were 25,000 complaints of men sexually harassing other soldiers.  It was a big deal in the news for about a week until people started reading the report and found it was mostly gay male soldiers harassing straight soldiers, then it went away.

There is no reason to allow homosexuals to serve openly in the military.  They have never served openly in the US military and not a single general has come forward to say this if only we had homosexuals in the service our military would be more effective at defending the nation.  We should go back to screening homosexuals out of the service, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Woman in Combat

It's immoral to send women into combat.  It's foolish to sent women to Ranger school.  Women are not men and should not be treated like men. Our nation has become a nation of cowards that are willing to hide behind a woman's skirts.

I don't care if the woman is able to pass the tests and be the best Ranger ever, women should be protected by men, not the other way around.  This is all part of the liberal idea that everyone is equal, but were are only spiritual equal, not physically equal.

Having been in the military I know how this will go, eventually Ranger School will be told the women will pass and they will lower the standards or retest them indefinitely and eventually just sign them off as passed not matter how good or bad they are.  The same thing happened with the first female fighter pilot who never properly landed on a carrier and she got out to the fleet and crashed her plane on a carrier.  Woman in combat is a bad idea; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Juvenile Crimes

A teen age driver ran over an killed a four year old child.  He had many previous arrests and convictions for serious crimes, some of which were driving related.  Why is this teenager still out and loose?

Why are teenagers given only tiny sentences for life changing crimes?  If a teen kills someone, that victim is deprived of his life.  If a teen commits a rape, that victim will be scarred for life.  Yet that teen might only serve as little as four years in prison.

The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior.  Yet juvenile criminals get the records expunged and their previous crimes don't count against them if the offend again as adults.  Why does this make sense?  Everyone should be held responsible for their actions, and juvenile offenses should be considered with adult crimes; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

The United States is making air strikes in the Middle East against ISIS.  We are making two or three airstrikes per day.  In World War Two the United States would send a thousand bombers and a thousand fighter planes against a single city in Germany.

Now the US Air Force is such a pitiful shell of what it used to be that we can't sustain a war against a small group of terrorists.  We used to be able to darken the skies with aircraft, we had massive numbers of planes.  In most of the post World War Two era, the United States tried to have enough military might to be able to fight a small war in the Middle East and a large war in both Europe and Asia.

Now our military has declined to the point were we can't even fight a small war in the Middle East.  As Ronald Reagan said, no war has come about because American was too strong.  We have few warships now then we did before the attack on Pearl Harbor.  The United States needs to rebuild it's industrial base, our electronics and computer industry, and increase defense spending, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.
