Lost in Space

Hollywood remade the television series Lost in Space as a movie.  This is typical Hollywood. Let's make a movie and call it Lost in Space and we will get millions of Lost in Space fans to come and see it. Then let's re-imagine the movie to get other people who will find it relevant for today's movie goer. The problem is the two groups are mutually exclusive.

What made Lost in Space great was the family who loved one another and who stood together, including DR Smith, the Robot and Don against a universe of troubles. They even stood together when the problem was caused by one of their own. The movie was a dysfunctional family of rebellious children and throw in the time travel element to fix everything that went wrong so there are no consequences for your actions and the whole thing just fell apart. It was a marginal science fiction movie on it's own and a terrible Lost in Space movie.

Hollywood does this because so many of them are dysfunctional.  They think being divorced, homosexual, disrespectful to authority are the norm in society.  So they make movies about people who are on the fringes of society, we get anti-heroes an not heroes.  America needs heroes, and Hollywood needs to get on board with real America; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.
