"Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his servant, nor his maid, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is his." I don't care that someone else has a billion dollars. The real questions are, how did they get the money, what are they doing with it? Are other people free enough to get that money too?
Many of those on these lists are not Americans. They are foreigners who got rich from telecom and from mining and oil. If you provide a service to several hundred millin people and take a couple pennies per dollar off the top, you will be a billionaire within a couple years, nothing wrong with that.
The wealth of the world is not a fixed pie. If I get a big piece, you don't have to have a small piece. The whole world is richer now than ever before. Almost no one dies of famine caused by a lack of food, famine is caused by radical Islam and Communism mostly. If you take aid trucks to Africa to distribute food, radical Muslims will attack you and steal everything for themselves. North Korea won't let food aid in because they would rather build nuclear weapons.
Most of the 85 richest people were not rich 30 years ago. They have worked hard and become rich. In 30 years, some other group of people will be rich. I don't care if someone else is rich, I care only that my family and I have enough. Only in America do we complain that we have cable tv, an apartment, running water, flush toilets, electricity, refrigeration and a plasma tv and a car and claim to be poor. Compare that to 150 years ago where no one had that in America or anywhere else in the world. Oxfam simply wants to steal money from the rich and give it to the poor, with a slight handling fee; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.
