Leadership

About 25 years ago the Berlin Wall fell and Communism was defeated in Europe.  Almost 70 years ago fascism was defeated in Europe.  Peace and democracy have flourished in most of Europe since that time and there has been no general European war since WWII.

We had the courage of our convictions in those days.  We believed that representative democracy and free enterprise and American exceptionalism were important and we were willing to force our belief system on others, if necessary.  Once we defeated Germany in WWII we made them into a free and democratic nation.  Once the Berlin Wall fell, we saw West Germany make East Germany into a free and democratic nation.

Since that time we have lost the courage of our convictions.  We fought the Korean War half way and North Korea still threatens us daily.  We failed to fight the Vietnam War to conclusion and the people of Vietnam were massacred and live in Communist oppression to this day.  Now we have a president who is so timid that in Libya he said we were leading from behind.  He said we had to strategy to fight ISIS.  He said we were going to degrade ISIS with our airstrikes.  Let us remember the words of Franklin Roosevelt who said:  "We do not retreat. We are not content to stand still. As Americans, we go forward, in the service of our country, by the will of God." President Franklin D. Roosevelt - January 20, 1941.  We need leadership, not dithering; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.
