The United States 82nd Airborne Division can get thousands of some of the finest soldiers in the world, anywhere in the world within a few hours.  The President of the United States is one of perhaps two leaders who have this capability.

When headlines read, "American beheaded" here is what should happen.  The President picks up the phone and tells his generals to get the people responsible.  As much of the 82nd Airborne Division as the generals deem necessary is sent to that part of the world and they kill everyone who was involved in the death of the American, then they return to the USA.

That's how major powers used to deal with the deaths of one of their nationals.  Being British, or French or American used to mean that you were safe from local rebels.  It used to mean that your nation would protect you from people like ISIS.  We did not write sharply worded memos, we did not make speeches, or stand on line with little signs.  We did not beg, or slowly escalate and drag out the response for weeks, months, even years, without solving the problem; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.
