Minimum Wage

Unions are trying to organize the fast food industry employees and are claiming they want $15 per hour as the minimum wage.  If you double the cost of employee wages, can companies then double the cost of the products they sell?  With taxes, insurance and other expenses a $15 per hour employee costs about $20 per hour.

With ten employees on duty at any given time, that's $200 per hour in wages a fast food store would have to pay under this new plan.  I agree that it is nearly impossible to live in California on a paycheck that is less than $15 per hour.  There are many reasons for that and there are things that can be done.

Many employees who work in the fast food industry are not worth more than minimum wage.  They are typically  young people or recent immigrants who have few if any job skills and little or no job history.  Most fast food workers only stay on the job for a few months and then move on to something else.  Many jobs in fast food are being taken over by machines.  Many stores have self-serve drink dispensers so the employees don't have to fill drink cups.  It should not be too difficult to automate much of the process and eliminate more employees.  As the cost of labor increases, the value of robotic employees increases.  If a $15 dollar per hour minimum wage is a good idea, then why not make it $50 per hour; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Syrian Attack

President Obama has said that the use of chemical weapons in Syria is a red line and if it is crossed he will take action against Syria.  Now it seems that chemical weapons have been used there, probably by the Syrian government.  Pundits are claiming that the US may fire cruise missiles against Syrian command and control centers, and air defenses.  The intent is to punish Syria but not to take sides in the war or to bring down the regime.

If two sides are fighting and you strike one of the sides, you have taken sides.  It's that simple.  If we are concerned about Syrian use of chemical weapons then we should be targeting chemical weapons facilities, not command centers.  President Obama wants to fight the easy way.  Launch a few missiles, spend a billion dollars, destroy a couple empty bunkers and then say how tough we are against the Syrians.  This would be a useless gesture as the Syrians would see us as weak and it would not degrade their ability to strike again with chemical weapons.  It would also alienate us against the Russians who are allied with Syria, and who have warships off the shore of Syria.  Do we need to have a confrontation with Russia over Syria?  Especially since the administration says any attack would not be designed to achieve regime change?

If the United States wants to do something about the use of chemical weapons then we should send in thousands of troops, capture Syrian chemical weapons depots and destroy or remove those weapons.  President Obama won't do this because he is too afraid of American casualties.  War is dirty business and people get killed.  Launching a few missiles from afar is a useless exercise.  But then form over substance has been the hallmark of this administration since the beginning, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Charlie Brown is an Affront to Islam

A radical Islamic cleric has issued a fatwa against watching cartoons.  Some radical Muslims claim that animation infringes on the right of god to creation because the artists are creating a world and characters.

While I am not always happy about the content of many of todays cartoons, Ren and Stimpy and South Park in particular come to mind as particularly disgusting, it is the stories and specific images and characters that I object to, not animation as such.  I love animation.  Both drawn and computer animation is wonderful and as a child I grew up with Saturday morning cartoons.

Even today I enjoy Johnny Quest, many Disney movies and many science fiction and historical movies with computer animation.  There is nothing wrong with animation.  There is nothing wrong with humans using their God given ability to create.  Like all gifts from God they must be used responsibly.  Still, it looks like no Charlie Brown Christmas in Iran this year; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Communist China

The Communist Chinese government officials are starting to think about a crack down on their people.  As people get economic freedom they begin to aspire to more than that.  They want political, religious freedom, they want freedom of assembly, freedom of speech and a free press.  The Communists don't want any of those things in their people because they know it means the end of Communism.

The Communist Chinese have always been Communists, all through the changes in their system, the key thing that did not change is the totalitarian nature of their government.  They won't permit people to stray too far.  They don't want people to have political power.  Power is still retained by the Communists.  They will begin the crack down on those who have strayed too far.  They are not afraid of world opinion.  They are not afraid to kill thousands, even millions of their own people; they have before.

The Communist Chinese have not given up their plans for world domination, they have simply changed their methods.  They had an economy that could not build world class weapons and no money to buy them.  They relaxed the economic reigns a bit and now they have billions of dollars and have started to feel strong enough to threaten their neighbors.  This is a great opportunity for President Obama to pressure China to allow press freedom, religious freedom, and other simple freedoms we all aspire to, but he won't; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

A man was sent to prison for burglary.  He later escaped, and shot a sheriff's deputy.  The criminal then entered a house in a rural area and took a 71 year old man and his wife hostage.  The couple were held prisoner for four hours.  The man finally got his shotgun, fired one round and killed the criminal, ending the crisis.

This is an excellent example of why people have and need the right to keep and bear arms.  Just because the police were aware of the presence of an escaped criminal, does not mean they could keep everyone safe.  This old man was able to do what the sheriff's department could not do, he stopped a criminal with a single shot.

The right to keep and bear arms is important.  The Obama Administration has been doing all it can to take away that right.  His minions in the main stream media constantly speak of "gun violence" as if it were a disease or as if all violence is bad.  This old man used "gun violence" to protect himself and his wife.  That was not a bad thing; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

USA vs Russia

Roman Catholic doctrine says that homosexuality is a "strong tendency ordered toward an intrinsic moral evil," according to this article by Pat Buchanan.  Mr. Buchanan goes on to compare the traditional Christian and American view that homosexual behavior is immoral and has been considered that way during the entire history of the Republic, as far back as the Revolutionary War.  Things have gotten so bad in the United States that even Russia under President Putin is starting to look good; a terrible admission for an old Cold Warrior.

Only during the last few decades and especially during this Administration homosexual behavior has achieved rights they never had before anywhere in the United States.  In my opinion, the Obama Administration has violated the law and President Obama should be impeached for his failure to conform to the Defense of Marriage Act.  If he did not want the Federal government to oppose homosexual marriage then he should have gone to Congress and got the law repealed.

Rather, President Obama has permitted homosexuals to serve openly in the US military.  Now the military is recognizing homosexual "marriages" and providing "dependents" with medical care and other benefits.  The military is also using military bases to perform same sex marriages, and I suspect that chaplains will be required to perform them soon.  President Obama is destroying our military and our nation by his devotion to a perverse, immoral, and un-American lifestyle; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Fight For Victory

In Egypt they know what Radical Islam is all about.  Christians, secular people and moderate Muslims know that once Radical Islam takes over and gains control, there is no going back.  Radical Islam is the most totalitarian system in the world. Their governments control every aspect of your life and the life of the nation.

A fair portion of the people in Egypt elected Radical Muslims to government last year.  As their grip on the nation increased, people began to realize that they would not be content with being just another political party.  They began the steps to create an Islamic republic.  In Egypt the tourist industry and the Suez Canal run the economy.  No one wants to visit an Islamic Republic as a tourist destination.

The Taliban took the one tourist attraction in Afghanistan and blew it into a million pieces because it was a Buddhist statue.  One wonders how long it would have been before Radical Muslims would have been closing museums and tearing down the ancient Egyptian statues, paintings and other artworks. The Egyptian Army has taken an important step in the fight against Radical Islam, I hope they don't hold back and that they are victorious; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Christian Persecution

All over the Middle East people have been working against the established governments and overthrowing them or bringing about civil war in an attempt to bring those governments down.  All of those governments are oppressive, and evil regimes and they deserve to be toppled.  Yet, in many cases the new governments are little better or even worse than the old government.

In Egypt an elected Islamic extremist government has been toppled by a secular military coup.  In a counter to the coup, the radical Muslims have attacked not only the government but have attacked Christians and their churches and schools.  Here in Western nations Christians are generally safe from such attacks, but attacks of a more subtle nature go on all the time.

A city in Texas has passed a law that prohibits people who speak out against homosexual behavior from working as city employees.  Several judges recently have forced Christian businesses to serve homosexuals, despite homosexual behavior being against their Christian beliefs.  Christians are being forced to violate their conscience in America by assisting or paying for abortions.  God's people are under attack in one form or another almost everywhere.  Pray for your fellow Christians and pray for the conversion of our enemies; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Worst President

President Obama is the worst president in the history of the nation.  He is leading us to ruin, not because he wants to do that, but because he is incompetent and does not realize the damage he is doing.  Like many liberals, he does not understand the value of every free man owning firearms for his protection and the protection of the nation.  I have no doubt that he will disregard the experience of Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York and ban as many firearms as he can.  If he needs to go to the UN to do that, I know he will with the small arms treaty or others.

He has failed to keep most of his election campaign promises.  He has failed to bring down unemployment.  The sequestration continues and the media essentially ignores the dangers it brings to the military, the war, and our national security.  He has failed to protect our information, with various criminals and traitors leaking information to our enemies.

President Obama has increased the racial divide in this nation.  He has spoken on the Zimmerman Case, a local crime, and stirred up sympathy for a criminal who was killed by his victim.  He has failed to do anything to stop the out of control Black on Black violence in our big cities and the Black on White violence that has happened since the not guilty verdict of Mr. Zimmerman.  President Obama told us he would be our president, and he needs to solve our problems, he rhetoric is only making them worse; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Mr. Christ

Jesus says, And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12, ESV)  Yet despite this and many other clear teachings, many claim that the Jesus of the Bible and the Jesus of traditional Christianity is not the real Jesus.

Today people try to claim that Jesus was just a man.  How can he be just a man when he claims time and again to be the Son of God?  Who would proclaim himself the Son of God unless he is a madman, a charlatan or the Son of God?  If he was a madman, why would anyone follow him?  If he was a charlatan, why did all his early followers follow him in torture and often death?  Surely they would have known his miracles were false and not died to preserve a lie they knew to be false.

Recently, I heard of a church where the priest was an openly homosexual wizard, and another church that was celebrating a clown mass.  The Bible tells us that homosexuality is an abomination to the Lord and that we are not to suffer a witch to live.  He also tells us that he will not be mocked.  What is more mocking than priests who publically acknowledge and celebrate their sin?  What is more mocking than clowns at the altar?  When the salt loses it's savor it is useless, many of our churches have become so; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Child Molester

A 38 year old male teacher was convicted of sexual encounters with a 13 year old boy.  He plead guilty.  There is no doubt about his guilt.  He had oral sex with a 13 year old boy, at his home, at least ten time.  He has been sentenced to serve 15 to 30 years in prison. In my opinion, he should have been executed for his terrible crimes.  The boy victim will remember those incidents for the rest of his life, the criminal should have paid with his life for his crimes.  When he gets out of prison at age 60 the first thing he is likely to do is look for other little boys to molest.

One of the most revolting aspects of this crime is that other teachers have rallied to his defense.  They asked the judge in writing, for leniency for this criminal.  They said he is not a predator.  What defines a predator, if not preying on the helpless and weak?  They said it was an isolated incident, but ten times is not an isolated incident.

They claimed he made a mistake.  A mistake is an error, unintentional and unplanned.  He invited the child to his home and had oral sex.  That is not a mistake, nor an error in judgment.  That is an immoral choice made by someone who can never again be trusted to be with children.  The people who wrote those letters of support are either so naïve they should not be trusted with any responsibility, so willful ignorant that they cannot be trusted, or they are fellow travelers who are sympathetic to one of their own who got caught; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Tuesday, August 20, 2013

One of the ideas of freedom is the right to do what you want to do with your own property.  If you want to sell your home, you should be able to sell it to whoever wants to buy it.  If you don't want to sell your home to a particular person or group, that should be your right.  The government should not be able to force you to sell your home.

Now the Obama Administration is using the Housing Department to try and compel diversity in neighborhoods.  I always thought if people want to live together or live separately, that should be their right, based on their economic ability to pay.  The Federal Government should not be wasting their time forcing people to live in some variety that has been decided by a low level functionary in Washington.

At a time when the government is failing on so many levels, is this something government should bother doing at all?  The Department of Housing should be spending it's time on doing things that will improve the quality of life for all Americans.  Creating new technologies that make homes cheaper, more fire and termite resistant, might be of some value, but forcing people to live where they may not want to live, or forcing people to "diversify" against their will is not a valid function of government; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Lower Standards

Women in combat is a terrible idea.  Woman should only serve in combat under extreme conditions when their options are to fight or to die.  In the old days when Indians would attack the fort, women and children would stay inside, in protected areas.  If they were not in a fort, but inside a small house, a husband and wife might both fight, because the options for the woman was to fight and win, or to not fight and probable die or at least be captured and held as a captive forever.

Already the Pentagon has realized that women cannot serve in combat on an equal basis with men.  So they are beginning the process of making the standards lower so that woman can achieve them.  This will not make actual combat any easier, only the standards to be in a combat unit will be lower.  What that will mean is that in peacetime or for units not actually in combat, women will make up some percentage of the staffing of that unit and will be considered fully qualified.  Once the unit is assigned to actual combat, those units will be less capable and will receive more casualties, achieve fewer objectives and lose more battles than all male units.

The United States has not fought a prolonged war against a large and powerful enemy since the Korean War.  While there have been tough battles in Viet Nam, and other places since then, they have not been the norm.  Americans have had air supremacy, been the only ones to employ quality tanks in large numbers and dominated the battlefield with our intelligence and our firepower.  Fighting an enemy such as North Korea, Communist China or other totalitarian, militaristic state might be far too much for American units forced to accept women in combat roles; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Russian Spy Planes in the USA

Open skies treaty?  When did that seem like a good idea?  The Russians are flying Russian military aircraft from American bases to American bases and monitoring our military.  The USA has spent billions of dollars on spy satellites and we allow the Russians to just come here and check things out for themselves?

We prosecute people to reveal secrets but we allow the Russians to just come here and fly around as they want to?  This seems a very bad idea to me on so many levels.  Nations should not be allowing other countries to violate their sovereignty by permitting rivals to fly over them.

While I was upset when the Soviet Union shot down Gary Powers and his U2 spyplane, I never had a problem with the legality of the shooting.  I think space should be free, but I don't think we should be allowing the Russians, or anyone else to send spyplanes over our nation.  I support closer relationships with Russia, but this is a bad idea; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

New Bomber

The United States has three bombers.  The B52 is so old it is being flown by the grandchildren of men who flew them originally.  Would you expect an airliner built today would be in service in 2060?  Now they are talking about keeping the B52 for another 20 or 30 years.  Should we rely on a 50, 60, 100 year old bomber plane for our national security?

The other two bombers are also very old.  How old is your car?  The B1 bomber is almost 30 years old.  How well will your car be doing in 30 more years?  Will it be state of the art?  Will you trust your life to it?  Will you trust the national security to a fleet of aircraft that are 30 years old?

How about your computer?  How old is it?  The B2 bomber is the most advanced bomber in our fleet, and it is 20 years old.  The avionics are some of the most important parts of an aircraft.  Sure they update them, but is that as good as building a new one?  How long can you update your computer before it's not worth it anymore?  How long do you expect pilots to fly planes that are constantly being updated?  Airlines don't update their planes for 50 years, they by new planes every few years.  The US Air Force should too; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Christian Persecution

Christian Copts pray in their church the morning after it was burned.  Here in the United States, Hobby Lobby, a Christian business, is taking the Obama Administration to court because they don't believe they should have to pay for abortion services.  They say it violates their rights as a Christian business.
In North Korea, Christians are in prison because the government does not want people preaching the gospel.  In Iran, Christians are subject to being stoned to death if they spread the word of God to Muslims.  In Pakistan, Christians are attacked, whole villages are subject to rampages by radical Muslims.  In Egypt and Syria, Christians are murdered, priests are killed, and churches are burned.

Most people think that Christian persecution ended with the Roman Empire.  Since Christians are no longer fed to the lions in the coliseum, there must not be a problem anymore.  Christians are being murdered, tortured, their churches burned down, priests abducted and murdered, all over the world, for their religion.  Keep them in mind, and keep them in your prayers; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Cyber Attack

The Communist Chinese are preparing for cyber war.  One of the things the Communist Chinese have learned is that the US Military is too powerful in conventional weapons and nuclear weapons to take on directly.  If they could find a weakness in our military, they might have a chance to beat us in a war, or their allies could beat us in a war too.

The US military depends on the Internet, and on computers.  If there could be a way to infect computers with a virus, or to take over a computer the Chinese would have a distinct advantage.  Imagine American fighter planes that can't get their radars to work, or missiles that won't lock onto their target.  That is what the Chinese are hoping to be able to do with their cyberwarfare.

The US uses a lot of drones, imagine our drones being taken over by an enemy.  Then our weapons become the enemies weapons.  It degrades our ability and enhances their ability at the same time.  Even just the ability to disrupt a military email system could create chaos.  Think about systems that can't pay soldiers or give them orders.  This is a terrible ability and one we need to consider; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Death Penalty

The death penalty works like this in California.  If you are convicted of a crime and sentenced to death it is automatically appealed to the State Supreme Court.  The legislature is mostly Democrats who are anti-death penalty. They know the death penalty is very popular in California.  It has won referendums in California many times and always by huge margins. So they know they can't repeal it, and they know that is one huge reason Rose Byrd and two other Supreme Court Judges were recalled.
So they play a game with it that the anti-death penalty media won't tell anyone about.  They simply don't fund the process to move a death penalty case through the court system.  Most of those on death row have a state attorney, so they don't fund them.  No attorney, so their case does not progress through the system.  There are over 700 inmates on death row in California and every year a dozen or so die of old age or murder or suicide.
The anti-death penalty politicians simply use the lack of drugs or other excuses to avoid having to execute anyone, while pretending we have a death penalty.  Then they try and claim the death penalty is too expensive and ineffective. Well, if you stopped the endless appeals process and started executing people it would not be too expensive.  Besides, how much should justice cost?  Justice is priceless; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Not Really Free Trade

Americans are out of work, underemployed, or on the edge of economic disaster.  The USA has negotiated free trade agreements with many nations.  We are told they will mean more jobs for the USA and then after a few years, the result is the same.  The foreign nation has taken American jobs and our exports come no where near the imports from our trading partner.

We too often have made agreements with nations that won't play fair with us.  These are not free trade agreements.  American companies build factories just across the border in Mexico and ship the products back to the United States.  Those Mexican have taken jobs from Americans, because they are willing to work for less money.  The Mexicans don't buy much from Americans, because they can't afford American goods.

Communist Chinese businesses build factories in partnership with American companies and steal our technology.  Then they build their own factory and take our markets away from us, using our technical knowhow.  Those are American jobs that are lost, again, and American technology.  Americans continue to lose out to foreign workers who are willing to work all day for what an American needs for an hours work.  Chinese don't buy American good because the Chinese can't afford them and their laws keep American goods out.  Our nation is being destroyed by politicians and greedy businessmen who only care for their own power and money and don't care about their nation; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Atheist Chaplain

"I am aware there are many who would be reticent or militant against that," he said. "But at the end of the day, my job is not to inculcate my viewpoints onto other people. My job as a chaplain is to be a facilitator, someone who cares for people, someone who is a sounding board."

This guy wants to be a military chaplain.  If you re-define the job to fit what you want it to be, then anyone can be a chaplain.  A military chaplain is there first of all to provide spiritual guidance to the soldiers in his charge.  Being a facilitator, or sounding board is nice, but not part of the essential function.

A dishwashing machine is designed to clean dishes.  If you re-define the job of a dishwasher to function as a counter-top, it can do the job, but it's not what a dishwasher is intended to be used for in the average kitchen.  This is the typical liberal foolishness, define away religion, no matter how ridiculous the new definition may be; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Who Am I to Judge?

The Pope recently made a statement where he asked, who is he to judge them.  When you read the context it is clear the Pope is treating being homosexual like any other sin.  The homosexual activists in the media is treating his remarks as if he cleared the way for homosexuality to be treated as normal and for same sex marriage in the Roman Catholic Church.  Nothing could be farther from the truth.
He says Who Am I to Judge?  But he also says they have to repent and sin no more, just like anyone who does any other sin.  Just as Jesus is often quoted as saying  ..."And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go..."  But they too often leave off the rest of the statement: "...and sin no more."  She is not simply told to go, but told to stop sinning as well.
I think the problem too many Christians that get involved with homosexuals is we try and treat homosexuality different from other sexual sinful behaviors.  A man who cheats on his wife or a man who has sex with little boys is a sinner.  Both require repentance and amendment of life.  The same is true of homosexual behavior, sin in thought, word or deed.  It requires repentance and amendment of life.  The only difference is our secular society is trying to force the Christian to believe that homosexuality is not a sin and is instead an acceptable "lifestyle."  It is not; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

No Slavery Please

Radical Islam is a dangerous and evil religion.  Moderate conservative Islam is not very nice either based on the actions of several people who are connected to the Saudi Arabian government.  In several states recently and even right here in Orange County, CA there have been allegations of Saudi Arabian royalty abusing their employees and keeping them as slaves.

We have not had slavery here in the USA for nearly 150 years.  California was never a slave state.  We should not have slavery here now.  This should be national news and on the airways every night that Muslims from Saudi Arabia come to America and practice slavery.

The practice of slavery should be stamped out everywhere in the world.  There is no excuse for it anywhere.  Radical Islam has been spreading slavery, and it exists again not only in the Middle East but in Black Africa too.  In parts of Sudan, Christians are captured and used as slaves by the Muslims there.  Republican President Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves, but under Democrat President Barack Obama they seem to be making a comeback.  Slavery is an evil thing and should be stopped, everywhere and forever; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Bear Attack?

Russia is sending out bombers to rattle the cages of South Korea and Japan.  This at a time when they are worried about North Korean nuclear missiles and Communist Chinese attempts to seize Korean and Japanese territory.

The Russians and the Americans should be working closer to stop North Korea and to stop Islamic terrorists.  Rather we have been engaged in Cold War provocations and consistent failures to engage them diplomatically.

We should be moving closer to Russia.  They are threatened by Communist China and by Islamic terrorists as are we.  A shrewd president would be working with them to protect our mutual interests in the world, rather President Obama is bungling every opportunity.  Now the Russians are giving asylum to Snowden and threatening our allies.  Another failure of the Obama Administration; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

EU Defense

The European Union is considering uniting their defense industries.  In times of economic hardship defense is often one of the areas cut first.  They are looking to cut defense by making better use of their defense industries.

I suspect this will cause more problems than it solves.  They will combine some industries, and people will be laid off, which means people will lose jobs.  That means less economic activity.  They will trade secrets with each other.  What happens will the nations that are good at keeping secrets will give secret information to other countries that are not so good at keeping secrets.

Companies that are good at innovation be don't have the political influence will lose contracts and jobs.  Companies that keep prices down will get more work, but their quality may not be the best.  I think they would be better off by using the free market to choose their defense needs.  If they put out a specification for a tank, or airplane, shovel or canteen, let the company with the best and least expensive canteen win the award, for all the EU nations.  They won't do it and they will suffer for it.  I think in the long run this might work out okay, but in the short run Europe will probably not gain very much, if anything; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

War is Unpleasant

A US Marine urinated on the body of a dead Taliban fighter.  The Marine was charged by the Marines along with eight other Marines who were involved.  He was fined $500.00 and demoted.  He said that he did it to show contempt for our enemy and because when a Radical Muslim has contact with an infidel that he thinks he won't go to heaven.

I agree the Marines should have been disciplined.  They should have been fined $25 each and not received a demotion.  The Taliban is the enemy.  We should hate the enemy.  If the enemy is not worthy of hate, then the are not worthy of being the enemy.

We train young men to go out and risk their lives in service to their nation.  We ask them to kill the enemy.  Then we act surprised that some of them perform a minor infraction of the rules of warfare.  In WWII US troops did far worse to the Japanese bodies they found.  There are photos of soldiers with the skulls of Japanese troops on the front of their Jeeps.  I don't condone such behavior, but I don't worry about it either; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Communist China

Communist China is at war with the United States, only the United States does not recognize it.  By having cheap labor they take our jobs.  That weakens our economy, because Americans cannot compete with cheap labor.  $1 day for skilled labor to make computers, televisions and soon Cadillac automobiles just is too low for the United States to keep up with.  Detroit is bankrupt and the Federal Government under President Obama bailed out GM to keep them in business.  They paid us back by building a brand new state of the art vehicle production factory in Communist China to make Cadillac automobiles.  Then the US government takes off all import duties so American workers are not protected.
China then uses these American dollars they get from selling us stuff to buy weapons and technology from other nations, like the former Soviet Union.  China is making two more carriers and after that will probably make standard carriers like our Nimitz class.  They have not announced that, but it is the logical progression.
In the meantime the US economy is being sunk by China and free trade and millions of American are out of work or underemployed.  So the US can't invest in new weapons systems.  We are even considering cutting the F-35 program, our only new fighter plane in 30 years.  You don't want to fly in an airliner that's 30, 40, or 50 years old, but flying a B-52 into combat is fine, because it's been upgraded.  It's still 50 years old no matter how many upgrades it's had.
Japan is building aircraft carriers that can carry jump jets.  They have been for a long time.  They will probably begin building real carriers if the USA does not get off the dime and start mobilizing our economy and our military.  I hope that President Obama does not so destroy this nation that we can't recover, but he has certainly taken us a long way down that road.  I am sure that's not his intention, but it is the logical conclusion of his policies; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

The COE Welcomes Satan to Church

The Church of England continues it's downfall and it's movement away from traditional, and historic faith in Jesus Christ.  The Church is reaching out to pagans and trying to create a church that will be more in tune with the environment and also will be more in tune with it's feminine side.  That way we can have female priests and homosexual marriages.

The Church of England has moved away from the Gospel, from prayers, and supplications to the One True God and is instead looking to market a product.  They are more interested in filling pews than filling hearts with the truth of who Jesus is and our relationship with Him.

As the Church of England continues to say sin is not sin, and evil is not evil they will continue to become less and less important in the world.  Hundreds of millions of Christians came to Christ as a result of the Church of England when they were a Bible believing, Bible preaching, God fearing, male oriented church that was not afraid to call sin evil and to boldly proclaim the ideal of Romans 16:17-20.

"17 I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. 18 For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naïve people. 19 Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I am full of joy over you; but I want you to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil. 20 The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you."  That's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

In God We Trust

America was founded on Christian principles.  Our motto is "In God We Trust."  We have had historically high rates of church attendance, and God has blessed our great nation.  Until recently.

Now we scoff at God at every opportunity.  Freedom of religion has been mutated into freedom from religion.  The St Louis Cardinals baseball team has had a Christian symbol etched into the pitchers mound before games.  Now that symbol is being removed because one atheist complained.

We used the be the land of the free and the home of the brave.  Now we are oppressed because we are no longer brave.  We worry about offending one person, who is an atheist, but don't fear offending Christians.  This atheist has the gall to demand the removal of a Christian symbol from a privately owned stadium and the cowards who run the stadium gave into his request.  The American flag still flies over the stadium, but I suppose that's because no foreigner has complained about it yet; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Canal Zones

Russia is visiting Nicaragua a lot in recent years.  In my lifetime the United States successfully defeated Communist attempts to take over Nicaragua and join the Evil Empire of the Soviet Union.  Now Russian designs have taken over where Communist designs left off.
One small foothold in the New World to further the power of our potential adversaries.  The Nicaraguans have long desired to build a canal from the Pacific Ocean to the Caribbean Sea.  As the Panama Canal ages, as ships become too large to transit the canal, the need for a new canal becomes more an more obvious.
President Carter gave away the Canal Zone and gave up massive American power.  The United States was able to keep our enemies from using the Canal in World War Two.  Now with the prospect of Nicaragua building a new canal with Russian help, that may not be the case in the future.  The Communist Chinese have taken over running much of the Panama Canal, another example of potential enemies taking over American power and replacing it with their own.  President Obama needs to pay more attention to retaining and enhancing American power around the world; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

The Russian Navy will add three dozen ships to their navy this year, that a record since the fall of the Soviet Union.  By contrast the American Navy is cutting, and cutting and delaying and stopping ship building, ship design and naval aircraft.  Our rivals get larger and stronger while we get weaker and smaller.

The Obama Administration has failed to win either the War in Iraq or the War in Afghanistan or the War on Terror in general.  Yet, they still keep cutting defense as they look for other military adventures for us to get involved in, such as Syria.

The United States is the worlds only superpower, but it comes with a price.  That price is spending money on our defense.  Not just on veterans benefits or on salaries for our servicemen.  We have to develop and build new weapons systems to say current.  If your desktop computer has to be replaced every three or four years to stay current, how frequently does the military have to replace weapons control systems to stay up to date?  Military procurement planning has to look years, even decades into the future at potential enemies; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

No Private Interpretations

Individuals should not interpret the Bible alone.  That's what we have a church for, to aid us in our interpretation.  I am a traditional Anglican.  So was George Washington and many other people much smarter than me.  Any interpretation of the Bible should not be done by the individual alone, but should conform to what Christians have always said about it.

That's why I believe in the creeds, they don't change from time to time or place to place.  You also have to take the Bible as a whole and in context.  Simply taking one line or phrase out of context does not make for good Bible interpretation.
Also, in the Bible and elsewhere people often speak or write in generalities which don't always apply to the specific.  People should repent and believe.  They should be baptized.  They should go to church and take communion.  The thief on the cross certainly did not do many of these, but the Lord said he would be with Him in paradise.  The thief was unable to do all those things that a Christian should do, but God is all powerful and just, He can make exceptions when He knows it's the right thing to do; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.
