Freedom, Not Regulation
I am for freedom, the 1964 Civil Rights Act originally was intended to provide equal protection for all citizens from government, but the Democrats changed it to public and private facilities. So now every time someone fails to get hired or promoted or gets written up they claim it's discrimination because they are Black, female, gay, tall, fat, old, short, thin, male, Hispanic, or some other reason unrelated to their job performance. The jobs belong to the employers and they should have the freedom to hire and fire and promote whoever they want for whatever reason they want. When they get too many of these lawsuits they go out of business or they go out of the country.
We need to build infrastructure. Did you know that California has a High Speed Rail Authority? In over ten years they have managed to spend tens of millions of dollars and so far have not built one inch of high speed rail. In the same time China has connected the whole country with high speed rail. California is still "studying" the problem. Simple, using existing right of ways, build high speed rail from San Diego to Los Angeles. Then Los Angeles to Las Vegas. Then Las Vegas to San Francisco. Then finally San Francisco to LA. Those are the places people want to go, it does not take a rocket scientist to figure that out.
As a Republican I know the only way to get the nation moving again is to cut regulations, cut taxes and give people jobs. We have to get people working on private sector jobs and stop spending so much on welfare, unemployment and other non-productive uses. Growing the economy helps poor people and rich people; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.
