Japan

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-02-05/china-targeted-japanese-naval-vessel-with-radar-nhk-reports.html?cid=nlc-dailybrief-daily_news_brief-link9-20130205

Communist China continues to escalate the cold war between them and Japan.  Japan is trying to defend islands that belong to them from Chinese encroachment.  The Communists always try and nibble away at their borders trying to take over neighboring nations.  The Soviet Union did that during World War II.  They took over most of pre-war Poland and moved the Polish border into German lands.  The Communist Chinese are no different.  They claim islands that have never been theirs.

Modern warfare uses radar to direct both missiles and gunfire.  Before the missiles are launched or the guns fired radars are pointed at the potential target.  The utilization of these fire control radars is an offensive act.  Only the push of a button separates the target and the victim.

Rather than stand by our ally, President Obama has been staying aloof from the problem.  We should be taking a leadership role to resolve this problem, and resolve it in favor of Japan.  The United States is not acting like a superpower.  We are acting like a weak and incompetent nation.  The Obama Administration is a poor ally, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

No Women in Combat

No one wants war. No one wants a draft. But if we put women in combat units then when we need to draft soldiers, we will have to draft women. Women are only exempted from the draft because they are not used in combat units and therefore are not needed in as great a number as men are needed.

The military establishment is carrying out the orders of the Commander in Chief who has said we will have women in combat. Not one of those generals has said this will increase our combat effectiveness. There is much evidence to the contrary.

The military is not about equal opportunity, it's about keeping us free and destroying our enemies. The vast majority of women are too small and too physically weak to attend to combat duties, that's why no other nation has ever put women in combat in regular military units. Resistance fighters are not regular military units and if their homeland is occupied they certainly are living under an extra ordinary circumstance. In that instance putting women in combat could be justified because the only alternative is to live under an oppressive occupation, and freedom is worth fighting for when necessary.  I stand by my statement that men who support putting women in combat are cowards and are hiding behind women's skirts.  Women should only serve in combat in the most dire emergency, and we are not in a dire emergency; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Self Driving Car

 http://biertijd.com/mediaplayer/?itemid=39089

Audi has a video that shows a new car technology that allows a car to park itself.  The driver exits the vehicle and the car looks for a parking place and then goes and parks itself.  The car then returns to the drop off point to pick up the driver when she returns from shopping.

Self driving cars can cut down on traffic collisions.  I think the diamond lanes should be reserved for self driving cars rather than for low emission vehicles.  When the technology is mature everyone will want to drive a low emission vehicles and we don't need special lanes to encourage them.  Self driving cars will reduce traffic collisions and save lives.

I want a flying car.  Flying cars should have this type of technology so that we all don't have to become airplane pilots.  Flying cars would cut on congestion in urban areas.  Some places now have traffic so heavy that it's rush hour nearly all the time.  If we can operate military drones we should be able to operate flying cars; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Sex Scandal

I am not Roman Catholic, but if you look closely at the Roman Catholic church sexual abuse scandals you will find some very interesting facts that the media fails to report or glosses over. Keep in mind the media does not like the Roman Catholic Church because they oppose abortion, and homosexual marriage so they seldom get good press.
Many of the reports are 30, 40 and even 50 years old. If someone reported your grandfather had sex with them 50 years ago, how would they be able to defend against that charge? Do you know where you were 50 years ago and could round up witnesses to that effect against a false charge? Many of the charges were made against priests who have died before the charges were made; how do you defend against that?  A few priests are responsible for the majority of the complaints, out of hundreds of thousands of priests who served in the USA since the 1950's.
Decades ago it was not unusual for anyone accused of child abuse to be shunned rather than prosecuted. Families or organizations did not want the embarrassment and so they did not report the incident to the police; the Church was no different. If the priest said he was penitent he would be transferred and he would hopefully not do it again. A foolish hope in many cases, but not an unusual method of handling the problem. Ask any teacher about "spoiled teachers," they are teachers who have molested children and rather than get arrested get transferred.
Catholic priests rate of child molestation is lower that than of most clergy and lower than that of the general population and lower than that of teachers. The media like the big government unionized teachers so they don't often complain about them molesting children. In fact, with gay studies, sex education and similar subjects taught in schools now they are one step away from abuse by just following the lesson plan.
Our civil court system is so messed up that it is often cheaper to just pay the money than to defend the lawsuit.  In many instances the Catholic Church hierarchy did fail to live up to their responsibility but it was not common and they have taken many steps to correct their problems; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

What Happened?

Americans had over 300,000 abortions last year.

Americans were told by liberals that when birth control was readily available there would be no unwanted pregnancies.

What happened?

Americans were told by liberals that when there was sex education in the schools all the way down to kindergarten there would be no unwanted pregnancies.

What happened?

Americans were told by MRS Clinton that abortion should be safe and legal but rare.

What happened?

If you don't want a baby, don't have sex, don't have sex without using birth control, don't keep the baby, give it up for adoption.  Humans have a soul and are made in the image of God.  They do not derive their worth by being wanted by a third party; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Missile Target

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/02/04/us/broad-powers-seen-for-obama-in-cyberstrikes.html?_r=0

President Obama has broad powers to use drones to kill Americans.  If Americans have taken up arms against the United States then they lose some of their rights to due process.  Just as Americans who challenge the police and threaten imminent danger to the police, the police have the right to shoot them in self defense.

In the asymmetrical warfare of the War on Terror the danger may not be instant, but can be real none the less.  An American planning a bomb attack is not an immediate danger to anyone until the bomb is done and maybe even planted.  If the person is training in a terrorist training camp he is not an immediate danger, but he certainly is there for the purpose of being able to kill Americans.

I think that in most cases if we would legally kill a foreign national we generally would have the right to kill an American in the same circumstances.  Americans who are working for foreign terrorist organizations need to know that their passport will not protect them from a Hellfire missile; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Communist Pakistan

http://www.military.com/daily-news/2013/02/02/china-poised-to-control-strategic-pakistani-port.html?ESRC=eb.nl

Communist China is planning on operating a port in Pakistan.  The Chinese are using their money from exports to America to buy influence in Pakistan.  They are buying the rights to operate the port, and build a road from there to China.  It will place a Chinese port near the Middle East and allow oil and gas exports to flow more easily to China.

It will also allow Chinese naval ships to have an anchorage far from the Chinese coast.  It will enable the Communists to have ships on both sides on India and closer to the Middle East than ever before.  The Communists have long looked for ports in this area.  China is using money to conquer where guns were ineffective before.

The US balance of trade with China is so far in favor of China that they are using the money in many ways that are not beneficial to the United States.  They are improving their military technology.  They are increasing the size of their military and adding aircraft carriers and other weapons they never had before now.  They are using money as a way to buy their way into Pakistan, the USA and Africa and even Panama to control places they would not be able to conquer.  None of that is good for the USA and we are letting it happen without protest; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

No Women, No Girlie Men

http://www.military.com/daily-news/2013/02/01/marines-release-survey-results-on-womens-role.html?ESRC=eb.nl

Seventeen percent of the Marines surveyed said they would leave the Marine Corps if women were allowed to serve in combat units.  Men who hide behind the skirts of women are cowards and do not deserve the freedom we enjoy today in the United States.  President Obama is a cad and does not deserve to be the president for what he is allowing to happen to our military.  He never served and does not understand the requirements of service at best or at worst does not care about the reduction in combat efficiency that will result with these actions.

No civilized military force has ever integrated men and women into military units.  There are many reasons for that.  Women are generally physically weaker than men.  The military will cut standards and employ lower standards for women so they can make the cut in training.  The military will require that men never criticize women soldiers for their lack of ability.  Those who do criticize women will be given poor efficiency ratings and denied promotions and eventually removed from service.

Since the United States has not fought extended serious combat in over thirty years people think that we can have social engineering and allow women to serve in combat units and openly homosexual people serve in all units in the military.  Those people are wrong, it will have a bad effect on good order and discipline and will decrease our fighting abilities.  It will get people killed and could cause us to lose battles and even wars.  Homosexuals should not be permitted to serve in the nations military services and women should be assigned to support roles only; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Indian Arms

http://www.defencetalk.com/modernization-of-the-indian-air-force-46599/

The Indian Air Force is now 80 years old and the fourth largest air force in the world.  Not only are they they fourth largest but they are becoming one of the most capable air forces as well.  When you call on the telephone for technical support for your computer you may get some guy on the line from India.  That means there are many people there with tremendous technical skills.  The Indian Air Force is making use of those skills.

While President Obama is rightly proud of the USA selling a dozen transport planes to India; Russia, Ukraine, France and others are selling billions and billions of dollars to aircraft, upgrades and support gear to India. When we are looking to increase our foreign trade, we need to consider the value of selling American arms to potential allies.  It keeps American assembly lines open, it helps our balance of payments, it gives good jobs to Americans and gives us influence with the buying nation.

India is an important nation to counterbalance China as a natural enemy of theirs.  India is also an excellent ally against certain Islamic nations in the region that are both unstable and often shaky allies.  India fought on the side of the Allies in WWII and is the worlds largest democracy.  We would do well to consider more arms deals with India; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Religious Freedom

An American pastor was sentenced to eight years in jail for preaching the word of God.  Iran makes it illegal to preach Christ, to witness about how Christ has changed your life, to hold a church service or to convert to Christianity.  Radical Islam knows that they are a lie and that Christ is the truth.  So they do everything they can to keep Christ from being preached or believed in the nations they control.

President Bush and President Obama both made a mistake in allowing Iraq and Afghanistan to become Islamic republics after we defeated them in war.  We should have insisted the new government permit freedom of religion.  Freedom of religion is a basic human right and should not be denied by any government.

Iran should immediately release this pastor and all other Christian converts they hold in prison.  President Obama is doing nothing effective to obtain his release.  The main stream media is generally ignoring this issue as well.  Freedom of religion is a basic human right; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Nuclear Power

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/01/24/business/global/japan-reports-a-78-billion-trade-deficit-for-2012.html?_r=1&

Japan is having trade and economic woes just as we are in the United States. They are throwing money at the problem as we have done and I don't see that helping them much more than it did us. The Japanese are paying huge amounts for imported oil, just like we are doing.

Energy is a driver of economic activity. President Obama has promised to start our economy but as we are in the fifth year of his presidency we still have record unemployment and a economy that is stagnant. We need to do many things to restart our economy.

We need nuclear energy to power our economy. We have not built a nuclear plant in decades. We can build safe and clean nuclear plants. The problem of nuclear waste has been solved. We need to build nuclear plants, cut regulations, stop lawsuits and power our economy; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Personal Defense Weapon

The Federal Government defines “Personal Defense Weapon,” and they think these weapons are appropriate for civilian law enforcement but not for your personal ownership.  I think any weapon the police can own should be legal for other civilians to own.

From the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Personal Defense Weapons Solicitation. Solicitation Number HSCEMS-12-R-00011

This Department of Homeland Security request for proposals, specifically defines a Personal Defense Weapon as a 5.56x45mm NATO, select-fire firearm. The proposal includes clauses that further define a "Personal Defense Weapon", which directly contradict Feinstein’s SB 150 that would severely restrict civilian access to less capable non-automatic-fire firearms.
3.9.2 – The action shall be select-fire (capable of semi-automatic and automatic fire).

3.9.10 – The action shall be capable of accepting all standard NATO STANAG 20 and 30 round M16 magazines (NSN 1005-00-921-5004) and Magpul 30 round PMAG (NSN 1005-01-576-5159). The magazine well shall be designed to allow easy insertion of a magazine.
3.10.1 - The fire control selector shall have three positions; safe, semi-automatic, and automatic.

3.12.1 – The overall length of the firearm shall not exceed 30 inches with the stock fully extended.
3.12.2 – The overall length of the firearm shall not exceed 20 inches with the stock fully retracted and/or folded.

3.14.3 – The barrel shall be equipped with a flash suppressor and/or muzzle brake. The muzzle device will be rated on its ability to reduce muzzle signature. It is desired that the muzzle device effectively reduces muzzle rise during firing.
3.16.1 – The pistol grip shall be a fixed, vertical pistol grip constructed of a durable material.

3.21.1 - Magazines shall be compatible with standard NATO STANAG M16 design.
3.21.2 – The magazine shall have a capacity to hold thirty (30) 5.56x45mm NATO rounds.

If police need this type of weapon to defend your community.  Then you should be able to own these weapons to defend yourself and your family; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

No Guns for You

http://www.policeone.com/media-relations/articles/6103568-Vt-police-barred-from-gun-range/

A city in Vermont banned assault rifles and high capacity magazines in their town.  A local gun range is concerned because they anticipate that it will hurt their business.  In retaliation for that, they have banned the local police from using their range while on duty to train.

Actions have consequences and when foolish legislators make foolish laws they have to live with those consequences.  Police need to train.  They need patrol rifles and they need high capacity magazines for those rifles.  By banning those weapons they will become harder to get and more expensive.

Barrett manufactures .50 caliber rifles.  These are very expensive sniper rifles that are virtually never used in crimes.  One person in California has been killed by one.  Despite having never been a significant crime problem the California government banned these rifles for sale in California to civilians.  Barrett then stopped selling them here to anyone.  I agree with their marketing decision, government can't destroy business and then expect business as usual; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Power to the Chinese People

http://freebeacon.com/advanced-american-technology-set-to-transfer-to-china/

Batteries power the high technology revolution of the 21st Century.  Now the Communist Chinese are planning on buying one of the best high technology battery makers in the world and the American government is willing to just sit on their hands and do nothing.

If it was 1938 and Nazi Germany wanted to buy an American electronics company, would we have permitted that to happen?  If it was 1958 during the height of the Cold War and the Soviet Union wanted to buy a radar company, would we let that happen?

We need to be more proactive about keeping American businesses owned and operated by Americans.  We need to keep jobs here, we need to keep technology here and we need to be concerned about our national security; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Guns

Millions of people call 911 and police respond to the vast majority of those calls and handle them professionally and well.  Like anything else people do, the 911 system is not perfect. People give the wrong address, the address is not in the 911 system, dispatchers radio the wrong information or the officers have trouble finding the location or even go to the wrong address. As someone who has 37 years in public and private law enforcement I have seen all these things; still they are rare.
My agency gets to most calls in under 3 minutes and most emergency calls in less than one minute.  60 seconds of being in a fist fight, knife fight or gun fight is an eternity.  Civilians having guns to protect themselves is an important part of civilian law and order.  In times of major incidents, riots, fires, floods, police shootings, response times can be much longer than normal.  I have been to calls that were waiting for over 24 hours due to police back logs caused by extreme conditions.
In Southern California the National Guard have been deployed here at least four times in my lifetime because rioting had gotten so far out of control local law enforcement were unable to control the streets.  Just like a fire extinguisher, a privately owned gun can save lives when deployed by someone who is trained and willing to use it on the rare occasion when such a device is necessary.  I have had occasion to pull a gun and to spray a fire extinguisher more than once in my lifetime; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Air Force

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/01/19/us-air-force-finds-pornography_n_2508241.html?icid=maing-grid7%7Cmaing6%7Cdl4%7Csec1_lnk3%26pLid%3D259390

The Air Force did a force wide sweep for inappropriate materials and discovered thousands of inappropriate documents, magazines and posters because female airmen complained.  This is exactly why we don't need more than a minimum number of females in the military.  The military is a manly pursuit.  It is male bonding of men doing manly jobs in a manly and manful manner.  Women generally have no place in that environment.

Male to male non-sexual bonding is a powerful tool.  By having an all male environment the interpersonal dynamic is different than when women are introduced.  It is not about discrimination, it's about biology and the make up of male / female relations.  No regulation or social experimentation can change that.

The Air Force found Maxim magazine in some offices.  They don't have nudity in Maxim magazine.  There is nothing in one of those magazines that won't be posted on billboards and other outdoor advertising.  If someone can be offended by the content of a magazine, that is no different than an outdoor billboard, how can they be tough enough to protect our nation in a shooting war.  Maxim is sold on Air Force bases, yet it's too offensive to have in your desk drawer?  Our Air Force should be maximized towards destroying our enemies and defending our nation, not sensitivity to women's issues; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Wages

http://www.manufacturingnews.com/news/manufacturingwages01015131.html

The wages of manufacturing workers in the United States is not keeping pace.  At one time our workers were the best paid in the world, but no longer.  There are many reasons for this problem.  The trade with Mexico and Communist China have dramatically undercut the need for American jobs.  Workers ask for and accept smaller raises because they don't want their jobs to be outsourced overseas.

Uncontrolled immigration depresses wages.  Illegal aliens are willing to work for far less money than Americans, so they depress wages.  Legal aliens also drive down wages as a surplus of workers keeps wages low.

Increased government regulation causes companies to move out of state and ultimately to move out of the country.  High paying jobs go overseas where labor is cheaper.  Companies have no national pride so they don't hesitate to move jobs out of the country.  We need a multidisciplinary approach to increase American wages; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Japan vs China

The Communist Chinese and the Japanese claim the same islands.  The Chinese sent a recon plane over the islands.  The Japanese responded with two fighter planes.  The Chinese responded to that by sending two more fighter planes.

The next time maybe the Chinese will send four fighter planes.  Maybe the Chinese will start sending fighter planes to escort the recon airplane.  Perhaps the Chinese will place ships there all the time.  Maybe those ships will operate aircraft.  The vertical take off and landing technology means you can put aircraft on almost any ship type with enough flat space.

Perhaps the time after that the Japanese will send eight planes, or ten, or fifty.  Maybe one pilot will crash, or shoot or collide with another plane.  That could cause an international incident.  Or a war.  A shooting war between Japan and Communist China.  Two of our largest trading partners and an important ally, potentially in a shooting war with each other.  Most of the media is ignoring the whole thing, and that's not a good idea; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Spy

http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/01/14/us-china-usa-satellites-idUSBRE90D08620130114

Technology is not the answer to every problem.  This is true in intelligence gathering too.  The US determined years ago that spies are unsavory and sometimes deal with people who are not moral.  So in order to avoid immoral people we started relying more and more on listening devices and satellites.  Those are good things, but they can't tell you everything.

A satellite photo can tell you there is a warehouse, it can't tell you what's inside the warehouse.  A satellite photo can tell you there are tanks at the border, but they can't tell you if they are going to cross the border.  The Communist Chinese are working on ways to destroy our satellites.  Satellites that we depend on for our intelligence gathering.

Since we voluntarily mostly got out of the spy business and now the Communist Chinese are working to destroy our satellites.  We dropped most of our long range spy planes in favor of spy satellites.  All our intelligence eggs are in one basket.  We need to defend our satellites, and develop more methods of spying on potential enemies; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

NRA

Every gun owner in the nation should join the NRA. Then join a second 2nd Amendment organization too.  The NRA has power because they are the largest and best funded firearms group and have been around for almost 150 years.  The more members they have, the more clout they have. The NRA will always strive to get us the best deal possible, sometimes that means compromise. When we don't elect enough pro-Second Amendment politicians to Congress we can count on losing some of our gun rights.

We should make a maximum effort to stop any new laws that restrict our gun rights, and by joining the NRA that will make them better able to fight off the anti-gun politicians. By being a member they will better reflect your views on the subject.  By joining another pro-gun group you help to keep the pressure on the NRA to stay the course of gun freedoms and only compromise on issues that we can't win.

My personal opinion is that the Second Amendment protects all our rights by being able to fight invasion or tyranny. I don't believe any registration of military style small arms is constitutional and certainly don't think there is a right to confiscate so called "assault rifles." They are exactly the weapons needed to protect against invasion or tyranny. Gen. Washington did not use his 1st amendment right to discuss things with the British, he used his 2nd amendment rights to shoot them; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Freedom, Not Regulation

I am for freedom, the 1964 Civil Rights Act originally was intended to provide equal protection for all citizens from government, but the Democrats changed it to public and private facilities. So now every time someone fails to get hired or promoted or gets written up they claim it's discrimination because they are Black, female, gay, tall, fat, old, short, thin, male, Hispanic, or some other reason unrelated to their job performance. The jobs belong to the employers and they should have the freedom to hire and fire and promote whoever they want for whatever reason they want. When they get too many of these lawsuits they go out of business or they go out of the country.
We need to build infrastructure. Did you know that California has a High Speed Rail Authority? In over ten years they have managed to spend tens of millions of dollars and so far have not built one inch of high speed rail. In the same time China has connected the whole country with high speed rail. California is still "studying" the problem. Simple, using existing right of ways, build high speed rail from San Diego to Los Angeles. Then Los Angeles to Las Vegas. Then Las Vegas to San Francisco. Then finally San Francisco to LA. Those are the places people want to go, it does not take a rocket scientist to figure that out.
As a Republican I know the only way to get the nation moving again is to cut regulations, cut taxes and give people jobs. We have to get people working on private sector jobs and stop spending so much on welfare, unemployment and other non-productive uses. Growing the economy helps poor people and rich people; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Cat & Mouse

http://www.businessinsider.com/japan-scrambles-jets-to-head-off-chinese-military-planes--again-2013-1

Japan has had to scramble military jets to warn off the intrusion of Communist Chinese aircraft over some small Japanese islands that the Communists also claim.  This is typical Communist behavior.  Probe the defenses to find out information on the resolve of their enemy.  If the Japanese send up planes it tells the Chinese they care about the islands.

When they send up the planes tells the Chinese how far away the Japanese can detect their aircraft and how rapidly the Japanese can decided to scramble jets and how long it takes for those jets to arrive over the islands.  This information tells the Communists how much time they have over the islands before Japanese air support arrives.

All of this information is important if you plan an invasion.  It also keeps the Japanese on alert all the time.  It makes their pilots and rader technicians jumpy and wears out their equipment.  It causes operational accidents and increases the cost of the islands to the Japanese.  Japanese costs are much higher than Chinese costs and the Japanese military much smaller.  This could go on for decades, or weeks and the price of a mistake could be war; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Incest

The leftists who press forward with the destruction of the family continue their downward spiral.  They push for divorce without reasons.  They demand abortion on demand, even for the youngest mothers.  They require sexual training of even the youngest in society.  The next lower level they have selected is incest.

The University of Missouri has offered a class in sibling incest.  Naturally the training will be non-judgemental.  There will be no input from traditional Christian religion.  There will be no dissenting voices telling how immoral and unnatural the subject matter is to most of society.

For decades I have warned that the sexual immorality of society will continue to decline.  There is no bottom to that well.  We as a society accepted homosexual behavior and now we are being forced to accept homosexual unions as if they were real marriages.  Next will be incest and pedophilia.  This class will be one of the first attempts to continue the decline of our civilization; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Keep and Bear Arms

The bill of rights was written to enumerate the inalienable rights of the people.  Those are rights that are not presented to the population by the government but rather rights all citizens enjoy because they are given by God.  Since only God can give them, only God can take them away.

The right to keep and bear arms is an inalienable right.  We can't have that right taken away by the government.  God gives every creature the ability and the right to defend itself.  Even a rabbit will defend itself if it is attacked and cornered.

Every few years liberals determine that the right to keep and bear arms needs to be restricted.  Small handguns are too concealable and used in crimes.  Large guns are too powerful.  Bolt action rifles are sniper rifles.  Semi-automatic rifles are assault rifles and for the military only.  Background checks, waiting periods, storage requirements, age requirements, are all needed.  What part of this counts as "infringed" or not?  I think most of it does, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Batteries

The United States has allowed a Communist Chinese company to buy and American battery maker.  Batteries are one of the most important technologies in the world today.  The nation that leads the others in making batteries has a huge advantage over others.

Think about the portable computers, telephones, and other data devices, they all use batteries.  Radios used by police and the military, flashlights and even lasers all use batteries.  The size and weight of these devices is often primarily a function of their battery.  Energy weapons are all but useless today because we can't yet make a battery to power them.  Electric cars are expensive toys of the rich because of a lack of good batteries.

This is one of those acquisitions by the Communist Chinese that they hope to use to increase the power of their military and their space program.  The United States is fast losing our advantage in space under the Obama Administration, this is just another example of that; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Aircraft Carrier

http://ca.reuters.com/article/topNews/idCABRE90005D20130101

US weapons makers may be about to do well.  With nations around the Pacific Rim nervous about the Communist Chinese and the North Koreans, weapons will be in great demand.  If the Obama Administration were smart, and they show little sign of that, the United States would be leading the coalitions in the region to defend against aggression by Communists nations, pirates and Muslim extremists.

The United States should be selling weapons to India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Thailand, South Korea, Japan, the Philippines and many others.  The United States should be extending credit to these nations if needed to get them to buy American weapons.  Weapons are expensive and if larger numbers are made, then the cost per unit goes down.

Perhaps we could interest Japan in an aircraft carrier, or maybe India?  Perhaps we could sell them our old ones, rather than scrape them.  Maybe we could interest a multi-national organization to buy an aircraft carrier together.  Perhaps Australia and New Zealand together could operate large helicopter carriers?  Maybe Taiwan and the Philippines could operate anti-submarine forces together?  We need a more flexible and creative and aggressively American diplomacy in the Pacific Rim; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Non-Rocket Launchers

http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Journalism/2013/01/05/Fake-News-L-A-Cops-Media-Tout-Rocket-Launcher-Seizure-That-Wasn-t

The Los Angeles Police Department recently ran a gun buy back program.  It was considered a complete success by the Department and media.  They even purchased two rocket launchers.  The citizens of Los Angeles are so much safer now that these rocket launchers are off the streets.  Or are they?

One of them was an AT-4 training system.  That is, it was the device used to train soldiers to fire the AT-4 rocket launcher.  It was not a rocket launcher.  I cannot actually fire rockets.  It is not dangerous.  It was never dangerous.  It contains no rocket, no rocket fuel, no explosive.  It's like turning in a PSP with a first person shooter game on it.

The second one was an expended AT-4 rocket launcher.  The AT-4 is a dangerous military anti-tank missile launcher.  This one had been fired.  It's like having a fire extinguisher that is empty.  It no longer functions.  It can't be reloaded.  They are simply a fiberglass tube of no more danger than a piece of plumbing pipe.  They are sold on eBay and are readily available because they look cool and are not dangerous at all.  So LAPD purchased two completely safe fiberglass tubes and claimed to protect us from rocket launchers.  Either they are ignorant or they are lying; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.
