Epiphany is a time of discovery. We discover that the Christ is come. God made man has come to Earth to redeem all mankind. He is the Savior of not just John the Baptist, and of Saul, but of Pontus Pilate, and Herod, and everyone. The Three Wise Men, they are not Jews, but they come to Bethlehem to worship the newborn King. He is not the King of the Jews as Herod fears or as Pilate proclaims. They know his kingdom is not of this world, that is, it is not limited to this world. He is the King of all Creation.
Epiphany; that which was hidden is now revealed. A star shines in the east and it guides shepherds and Magi. It guides us today. The light shone in the darkness and the darkness comprehended it not.
Epiphany, now the darkness comprehends the light. The light is the light of men, our Lord has come, and we now recognize him for who he is and what he has done for us as our Savior.
Epiphany; everything is going to be different now. The scales have fallen from our eyes. We are able to see the light as we never saw it before. The whole universe is new, as we are to be redeemed by our Savior. The little baby in the manger has come and we know our lives have been changed, we have had an epiphany.
