Taxes

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/11/26/opinion/buffett-a-minimum-tax-for-the-wealthy.html?hp&_r=2&

The United States has problems with the tax system.  Too much of the tax system is designed to control or encourage or penalize behavior rather than simply raise money to run the government.  Each of those rules make the tax system more and more complicated.

Eventually our system has become so complicated that it is contradictory and so difficult to understand that people have to have someone else do their taxes for them.  That is money that is simply wasted.  Smart, well educated people doing taxes rather than doing productive, meaningful work makes companies and the nation less competitive.

We need a simple tax system were essentially everyone pays, with few or no deductions.  A system that is so simple the vast majority of tax payers can do their own taxes with confidence that they have paid all their taxes, without missing something and without violating the law.  God only wants 10% why does the government need more?  Simplify the tax code, make nearly everyone pay; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.
