British Invasion

I read an article recently that said Great Britain had invaded every nation on Earth apart from only 22 out of way more than a hundred.  What the article did not say was why those nations were invaded.  They did not say how many were invaded more than once.  Most important is they did not say how many are better off today for having been invaded?

The United States occupied Japan, invaded them if you will, as a result of their surrender at the end of World War Two.  I would suggest the fact that Japan is a prosperous, democratic, peaceful nation is a direct result of that invasion.

Is France better off now then they were in 1944 before the British invaded them?  How about Germany, are they better off now than in 1945?  India is a large nation with many problems but I think the legacy of a common language, a common legal system and a democracy are all benefits that the British left behind them after their invasion.  I think there are a few nations that would have been better off had the British invaded them and stayed longer.  I think there are a few nations that need the British to return; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.
