Polls and Unions

It's only a few more days before the election and the election is being called as "too close to call."   I am not a pollster and I think most polling is a waste of time.  I consider it made up news.  The main stream media does not want to tell you where the candidates stand on particular issues because that would be difficult so they just give a poll.

We talked to a few people and most of them said they would vote for this guy or that guy.  Then tomorrow we will talk to some other people and they will tell us who they will vote for in the election.  It's all a waste of time.  Tell me where the candidates stand.  Tell me about the issues, tell me about state and local races too.

In California the state is locked up by powerful government employee unions who rake in millions of dollars and use them to lobby for special exemptions from the law and special privileges that non-union people don't get.  Once again there are people trying to break those unions but they try to frame the argument that you are against teachers, firefighters and police if you don't back their unions.  I am all for police, firefighters and teachers but that does not mean I think they should be allowed to bankrupt the state; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

No Nanny State


 
Here in California we hear a lot of talk about how guns need to be locked up so that kids can't get to them.  We read all the time about how important it is to keep guns unloaded and locked separately from the ammunition because children will find those guns and kill themselves or their friends.  As usual, this liberal foolishness is the law and yet we allow gas ranges and kitchen knives and rat poison to sit there unattended, surrounded by children.
 
This little girl in Oklahoma was only twelve years old when a burglar entered her home.  Following her mother's advise she hid in the closet with a gun and called the police.  Despite being notified the police did not arrive instantly.  It takes a few minutes for dispatch to obtain the information and for police to arrive even if they are only a couple blocks away.
 
While waiting for help the little girl was able to shoot through the closet door and hit her attacker.  The burglar left the home and was captured later.  This is an excellent example of how private citizens can made decisions based on their own children's intelligence and maturity and allow them the ability to defend themselves.  We don't need a nanny state, that only creates unarmed victims. We need responsible parents to take good care of their kids; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Increased Defense Spending

Communist China has continued to increase their military spending.  Their neighbors are continuing to become nervous about that spending.  As a result, many of them are increasing their military spending also.  This at a time when the world economy is down and all nations are trying to cut spending.  There has to be a real credible threat when Third World nations are increasing military spending when times are this hard.

The other result of this Chinese spending is other nations are combining into new alliances and strengthening old alliances.  China keeps trying to use a strategy of divide and conquer.  They want to be able to bully each of their neighboring nations one by one so they can devote their full strength against their much smaller and much weaker neighbors.

The United States has sent US Marines to Australia as a show of our commitment to the region.  This has been a very poor response in my opinion.  They sent very few Marines and of course, they can be pulled away for any number of other contingencies.  The presence of a few Marines won't stop a Communist Chinese aircraft carrier; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Prayer


Sometimes at church I get to lead Morning Prayer services.  As part of that service I get to select from a number of optional prayers or I can simply use the standard prayers alone.  I remember back in the George Bush Administration, President Bush used to commend Americans for praying for him and thanking them for the strength it gave him to execute the duties of his office.

In my opinion, President Obama has done a terrible job as president.  I am saddened by his continued support for abortion.  The safest place in the world should be in your mother’s womb, but that is not the case for far too many babies in the Obama Administration.  I am appalled at his support for the homosexual lobby and his making up rights that never existed in the history of this nation or even in most of the world in all of history.  Homosexual marriage is an oxymoron and having open homosexuals serve in the military has been a continuing disaster.

President Obama claims to be a Christian and so as Christians it is our duty to give him the benefit of the doubt and pray for him.  Our nation is at war against Radical Islam.  Radical Islam is the enemy, the Democrats are political opponents, but they are not the enemy.  For a civil society to exist we must remember the difference; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

President Obama


The United States is coming up with an election very soon.  I do not intend to vote for President Obama for re-election.  He has done a few good things since he has been in office.  He has kept the Guantanamo Bay prison open.  He did this despite his promise to close it when he ran for election the first time, but I give him credit for not closing it.  President Obama gave the green light to the Navy SEALS to kill Somali pirates who were holding a ship’s captain and to the Osama bin Laden operation.  I commend him for both of those decisions.

He has not pushed any major gun control laws.  This despite the fact that he is anti-gun and has said he would like to ban “assault rifles” and cheap handguns.  I suspect he will try and do that in his second term, if re-elected. 

President Obama has continued to wage war in Afghanistan and continues to fight the War on Radical Islamic Terrorists worldwide.  I think his conduct of the war has been very poor and I don’t think he has any idea how to win the war.  He had us simply walk away in Iraq, rather than achieve victory.  There is no reason to wage war unless you intend to win it and as President it is up to him to provide the leadership and parameters of victory.  President Obama has failed to do enough good to warrant his re-election; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Growth




Too many people in government think that private industry and "the rich" are simply a bottomless pit of money and they can dig up more gold whenever they want it. Every business is in competition against someone else. The local dry cleaners is in competition against the other local dry cleaners. Both local dry cleaners are in competition with people who simply do their laundry at home or don't take clothing to the dry cleaners except when they absolutely have to do so.

 Business is the engine that runs the nation.  We need a national and state business strategy that will bring America out of this long term malaise we have been in for so long.  Even with a war on we still are not having an economic stimulus.  Even with trillions of dollars of spending by the Federal government we are still facing high unemployment.
 
We need good jobs to put people back to work.  We need to cut taxes and cut regulation and get business moving.  We need tax laws that are simple and direct and stop using the tax code to direct all kinds of behavior.  We need to allow people the freedom to do what they want with their own business and their own money.  If we grow the economy we can put people back to work and pay down our debt; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Cyber War


Nations as well as non-government entities are making cyber attacks on each other now. The Communist Chinese and the Iranians are two nations that often are suspected of making cyber attacks against the West. Israel and the United States are also supposed to have significant cyber abilities. I suspect many other nations are working on this type of attack.

There needs to be clearer lines of what constitutes and attack and what the consequences will be if an attack takes place. The destruction of a billion dollars of software can be as dangerous or deadly as the destruction of a billion dollars of physical property. If an attack cuts off a water supply or deletes years worth of data or simply shuts down elevators can have a horribly disruptive effect on a nation.

Imagine New York City with all the high rise buildings and no elevators. How hard would it be to conduct business as usual and how much would be lost in productivity? Think about a research and development project with all the data wiped out. We need to start thinking about cyber attacks as more than just the cute pranks of a few youthful tricksters. These are real attacks with real losses and they should bring real consequences; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Tax and Regulate


When the UK had very high tax rates even John Lennon fled to America and became an American citizen during the Vietnam War to get a tax break.  Very high tax rates don't work, as you increase rates the rich only hide the money or stop working or move the jobs overseas. Imagine a nurse and a dentist who are married, they could easily have an joint income of over $250,000 per year. If you take half of that in taxes, then the nurse stops working and the doctor cuts down on the number of patients he sees until their income is $80,000 per year and their lifestyle is unchanged, and you lose $100,000 in potential tax revenue.

President Kennedy and President Reagan knew that if you decrease tax rates in most cases you can actually increase tax revenue. People get to keep a higher percentage of their income so they are willing to work harder. You also can cut tax deductions leaving only a few that can be taken by most taxpayers and make the tax system simpler. If you have a large income it makes sense to spend a lot on tax preparation because your tax guy will save you money when rates are high. If rates are low and their are few deductions then there is no reason to spend lots of money on tax attorneys, money that is not actually productive.

In a free market, companies don't get subsidies and if government stops so much of this regulation then politicians can't use regulations to favor one company over another. President Obama with all his billions for clean energy companies has simply failed to provide significant numbers of new jobs and many of the jobs and companies that were created went to Communist China.  High taxes and high regulations are the two main reasons companies go to other countries. Unless we address both of those we will have continued high unemployment and large deficits. California is an excellent example, we have more regulation and higher taxes than most states and our unemployment rate is higher than the national average with no sign of improvement. The Democrats in Sacramento think the solution is higher taxes and more government regulation, they are wrong; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Nothing Gay About It

 
A member of a university staff signed a petition at her church.  She wanted the state she lives in to put homosexual marriage to a vote.  Every time homosexual marriage has been voted on by the people in the United States, it has failed, even in liberal states like California.  Naturally, the homosexual lobby does not want these types of votes to take place, they want to obtain homosexual marriage by the courts or legislature, since they can't win in the ballot box.
 
Now the university she works for has suspended her because of her "intolerant" position.  The liberal view is that you must toe the homosexual line or your are against them.  They don't want simply homosexual marriage, they want total and complete acceptance as if they were as normal as everyone else.  They want to file tax returns, adopt children and be fully accepted in homosexual relationships as if they were indistinguishable from heterosexual marriages.
 
Marriage is a sacrament of the church.  Marriage is between one man and one woman.  It has always been between a man and a woman, there is no biological or societal necessity to have marriage between same sex partners.  Genesis 2:24, "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh," that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

There is a photo going around the Internet that shows a photo of the Red Bull Stratos program.  It says that awkward moment when you realize an energy drink has a better space program than your nation.  President Obama destroyed the American manned space program.  For this reason alone he should not be re-elected this November.

Manned space programs are important for the future of the nation.  All great nations have space programs.  Superpowers are supposed to have manned space programs.  "We choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard, because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to win, and the others, too."

Now our President says that manned space flight can be contracted out to the Russians.  We don't need manned spaceflight because some day private companies may have that ability.  A great nation should not depend on one of it's rivals for space transportation.  A great nation should not be hoping that some day we might be able to do something; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Gun Control

President Obama wants to ban machine guns, rifles and pistols.  That's all, he supports the Second Amendment.  Machine guns are so heavily regulated that they are all but illegal.  They have required a Federal license since the 1930's that costs hundreds of dollars.  They have not been manufactured for civilian use since the 1980's.  They typically cost thousands, usually tens of thousands of dollars.  There has never been a murder committed using a Federally registered machine gun.  Still, he wants to ban them.

So called assault weapons were illegal for about ten years.  Study after study showed banning them had no effect on crime rates, and in fact they are rarely used in crimes.  Again, assault weapons are expensive, and are very large, they are not generally suitable for most crimes of robbery and rape and other crimes where concealing the gun is important.

Cheap handguns are simply guns that are inexpensive.  Does that mean that poor people should not own guns?  Does that mean that a $2,000 gun is okay but a $200 dollar gun is evil?  Teaching people right from wrong and having swift, appropriate punishment for those who do wrong works to reduce crime.  Gun control has never been shown to reduce crime; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Dishes


Paul Ryan went to a soup kitchen and now the media is having a fit because the dishes he was photographed washing were already clean.  The point was not for him to wash 367 dishes. The point was to tell how important such things are to our society. St Vincent de Paul is a Roman Catholic charity and Ryan is Roman Catholic. No one really expects them to do any real work on those visits.
It's a photo op, like when they show up with the soldiers and hold a gun. No one expects them to go on patrol and shoot some Taliban. With 50 people there it's easy to find one who will say something bad about the visit. They do this stuff all the time on campaign, you walk into a shop and put on the apron and pretend to wait on customers or flip burgers or wash dishes. You do that for 5 or 10 minutes and move on to the next block and do it again.
It's a way to address the concerns of the common people, small business, or soup kitchens or whatever.   If you care about coal miners you visit a coal mine. When President Obama visited auto plants he did not really build any cars.  This is typical of the main stream media to focus on things that are of no importance and ignore the real problems.  Gasoline prices are at an all time high.  Unemployment is as high now as it was when President Obama was elected, despite his promises to work on jobs.  The media likes to distract us from the problems President Obama failed to solve and instead focus on non-problems; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Syria

The US Ambassador to Libya was murdered by Islamic extremists. What the media failed to cover was the OTHER militia groups who marched on the militia headquarters, burned it down and killed several of those who attacked the embassy. We do have friends in Libya.

If we sit on our hands in Syria we have no influence. If we take a role then we have influence in the post Assad era. We can support those who want peace and stability or leave it to the Russians and Iraq to have influence there. We don't have to send in ground troops and I would oppose that. But air support is what we do the best and it can be done with a minimum of risk. Great powers don't stay great powers by acting like they are small powers.  Syria is rumored to be the repository of many of the Iraqi weapons of mass destruction.  How can we prove or disprove those rumors if we are not involved?

Cuba and Argentina and Finland will not intervene in Syria because they are not great powers. Should we join them on the sidelines of world events?  The United States needs to try and influence the pro-democracy, pro-western militias because if we don't it is unlikely that anyone else will do so.  We need a foreign policy that says we will support democracy, religious and economic freedom anywhere in the world.  It is in our own long term interest to do that; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Sex vs Love

Pedophiles are the next group to try and obtain the right to marriage and other benefits once the homosexual lobby has completed their radical agenda of destroying traditional morality. There is also a substantial overlap between the two groups.

Most of the pro-homosexual arguments also apply to child molesters as well.
They claim they are persecuted because they "love" differently, and its all about the love. They define love purely as a sexual act and not about a permanent bond between a man and a woman dedicated to building a family in a lifetime commitment to one another. It's consensual behavior they claim, they will even dare to claim that toddlers and even babies are able to give consent. It's not anyone else's business what happens in the bedroom, which is a lie. It is the business of society to determine what people do and how they do it, in any location. We don't allow murder, rape or even tax fraud, just because it's done in the privacy of a bedroom.

You can't legislate morality is perhaps their biggest lie, of course you can legislate morality, that's why we have laws. They are there to regulate behavior of all kinds. We don't permit murder or robbery because it's immoral. We don't permit incest, because it's immoral. We don't permit men to have five wives because it's immoral. Christian morality is the basis for most of the basic laws in our society; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Obama Phones

The Federal Government has a program where they provide free telephones to people.  Poor people who can't afford a phone can get one for use in an emergency, or to help them get jobs or simply stay in touch with friends and relatives.  It is paid for by an extra fee the rest of us pay on our phone bills.  It is essentially a tax on having a phone.

The company that runs this program is owned by a Mexican billionaire.  If we are going to do this program, why are we doing it with a company owned by Mexicans?  Why not an American company?  Why not keep the money here.  I have no problem with a rich man getting richer.  I am middle class and I would like to get richer.  I don't begrudge the rich from getting more money.

My real concern is why do we have this program at all?  The poor should get their own phones.  They should pay for them out of their own money.  If the poor are given a voucher they could get a phone of their choice, and the money would go to the company providing the best value.  I think this program should simply be eliminated.  This is essentially a regressive tax on every working family with a phone.  Being poor should be a temporary condition for people, we should strive to get jobs to everyone and bring everyone into the working class or middle class; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Iraq War

The United States has spent 1.6 trillion dollars on the war in Iraq and we still don't have a victory.  We started with a conventional war against the convention army of Saddam Hussein.  We won that war hands down with almost no casualties and in a dramatic manner.  Conventional American and allied military might is unstoppable.  We failed to win the guerrilla war that has been waged ever since then.  We did not learn our lessons from Viet Nam.

The United States knows how to win a guerrilla war as the occupying power and we need to learn those lessons, not from Viet Nam, but rather from the Indian Wars.  First, we made a mistake by setting up an Iraqi government by given them their sovereignty back.  We did not do that with Germany or Japan until the war was over and the peace was assured.  We should not have done that in Iraq or Afghanistan.

In the Indian Wars we pitted one tribe against the next.  We rounded up everyone and physically moved them and their possessions to secure areas we called reservations.  We destroyed their culture and converted them to Western ways of thinking.  This is the only way to win these types of guerrilla warfare.  Other softer techniques have been tried but they have rarely worked.  We should have declared war, instituted the draft and flooded Iraq with troops.  We would be done by now and be home with victory; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Russian Front

The United States and Russia have a treaty where the Russians destroy chemical and nuclear weapons and the United States helps pay for the destruction and has observers on site to make sure it happens.  This has been a good deal for the USA and thousands of weapons have been destroyed.  Now Russia has decided not to renew the program.  Another foreign policy failure for the Obama Administration.

The Russians don't want the USA to continue to monitor their weapons systems.  They have been rebuilding and modernizing their facilities.  As they get their economy together after decades of Soviet era malaise they are again trying to become a great nation.  One of the ways to do that is to have a strong modern military force.

We have wasted the last four years and even some of the Bush years too.  We should have been moving closer to Russia as they have moved away from Communism.  While they have problems with crime and old Communists, we certainly should have been working with them as partners in the War on Islamic Terrorists.  They have faced the same problem in their country with terror attacks and have a lot of experience in fighting radical Islam.  Instead we have continued to alienate them and so they oppose us in areas where we should cooperate, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

North Korea

North Korea is not happy.  It seems that is it okay if North Korea has nuclear missile that can strike the United States but it's not okay if South Korea can hit North Korea with small conventional missiles and drones.  Communists don't play fair.  The highest morality to Communists is that which advances communism.

So if something is fair, then it is immoral to a Communist.  To them, it must be skewed in favor of the Communists in order to be fair.  North Korea is in a perpetual state of war with South Korea.  They have built nuclear missiles, launched artillery attacks on South Korea and torpedoed a South Korean warship with great loss of life.  South Korea has done essentially nothing to respond.  The United States has cut defense spending, plans on cutting more defense spending and has been unable to do anything about North Korean nuclear ambitions.

The only think Communists understand it brute force.  We need to remind everyone that North and South Korea are still at war.  We need to remind everyone that South Korea is under the protection of the United Nations command.  We need to blockade North Korea, put great pressure on Communist China to stop the North Koreans from developing missiles, rockets and nuclear weapons.  We need to work towards regime change in North Korea, rather than allow the Communist enemy to continue to gain an advantage against us; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Gasoline Prices

Gasoline prices are as much as $4.68 at Shell yesterday for self service regular unleaded.  That's the highest they have ever been in California.  High gasoline prices are a tax on the poor.  It makes industry pay more to move goods and services around so it causes inflation on everything else.  It is a boon to the State of California because they collect higher sales taxes, so they have no immediate short term reason to want either consumption to decrease or prices to go down.

When it was President Bush all we heard about was the $2.00 gasoline prices were the result of price gouging because Bush was in the oil industry and was paying back his friends.  Every day we got a litany from the main stream media about how terrible it was that prices are going up.  All we heard about was speculators and price gougers were running up the price.  They ignored the shortages, the lack of refinery capacity and the crisis's in the Middle East.

After four years of President Obama with no drilling off the California coast, no drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, no Brazilian oil he told us he was going to get, movements to stop fracking in the US and no pipeline from Canada to the Gulf, that oil now goes to Communist China, why don't the main stream media tell us about the gasoline price crisis that is happening right now?  We won't hear about it from them unless President Obama loses the election and they can blame high prices on President Romney; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Chinese Telecom

A Communist Chinese telecom company is planning on selling large numbers of phones and other products in the United States.  Imagine in a few years time these phones are everywhere, used by police, fire departments, the military, and millions of civilians.  Then imagine the United States warns the Communist Chinese because of provocations against Taiwan, or Japan, or problems with North Korea.  Imagine the Communist Chinese simply turn off the phones.

It is important to think about the worst case scenario.  The Communist Chinese are at best global competitors and at worse deadly enemies of the United States.  Imagine if the Nazi Germans made great radio systems in the 1930's and everyone in the USA purchased one.  When World War Two came the Nazi's turn a switch and turn off all the radios.  They could not do that back then, but today, computer chips in every device could have a back door allowing unauthorized entry.

Far too much of our technology is in the hands of foreign nations.  If it's Israel, or Britain, or Canada that's not too much of a worry, they are tied to the US in foreign affairs, but Communist China is not the UK.  We need to make more of these products in the US and more of them in allied nations if not here.  Manufacturing products can have an element of national security.  Products essential for national security, like telecommunications, computers, tanks, aircraft need to be made here; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Chinese Politics

President Obama has had four years of allowing American companies to wither and die under unfair Communist Chinese competition.  Companies who want to do business in China often are required to have Chinese partners.  These partners are frequently owned by the Chinese government.  The partners will often set up their own business using proprietary secrets gained from the American partner and eventually drive the Americans out of business.

The Communist Chinese manipulate their currency so their exports are unnaturally inexpensive.  They hide their nuclear weapons programs increases while other nations disarm.  They have failed to reign in their ally, North Korea.  They are now threatening Japan, Taiwan, and other nations over small islands in the Pacific because they want oil, gas and fishery resources they represent.

The Obama Administration has failed to reign in Communist China.  Rather, by their profligate spending they have made us a debtor nation to the Chinese, beholden to them to provide money run our government.  Tibet is still occupied by China and the Chinese are shipping people to Tibet to alter the ethnic balance there from Tibetan to Chinese.  The Obama Administration has been a foreign policy disaster when it comes to Communist China; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Firearms Safety

With great power comes great responsibility.  Here in the good old USA we have the right to keep and bear arms.  With that right comes a responsiblity to handle firearms safely.  There are many groups that provdie firearms training and firearms safety information.  The National Rifle Association presents training to tens of thousands of Americans every year, including police.

Glock has a list of basic firearms safety rules too.

1.  Handle all firearms as if they were loaded.
2.  Always keep the fiearm pointed in a safe direction.
3.  Keep your finger outside of the firarm's trigger guard and off the trigger, until you have aligned the firearms' sights on a safe target and you have made the decision to fire.
4.  Always be certain that your target and the surrounding area are safe before firing.

Following these few simple rules will prevent nearly every firearms accident.  I think that everyone who owns a gun should take a basic first aid course so they can render first aid in the event of an emergency, but I also think that should be true of everyone who drives a car!  Handle weapons safely, inspect every weapon you handle to insure it is unloaded, but continue to treat it as a loaded gun.  Use non-firing guns to practice martial arts; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

The North Koreans are trying to build nuclear missiles to attack the American Homeland.  They have launched missiles that have flown over Japan.  They claim they have missiles that can hit California.  They also claim they have tested a nuclear weapon.
 
The Obama Administration in a weak and half hearted measure have agreed to allow our ally South Korea to develop missiles that have a range long enough to hit all of North Korea and to field drones that can fly over all of North Korea.  They still maintain significant weight restrictions against them.
 
Rather, we should have permitted South Korea to purchase any missile or drone in the American inventory and put any weapon that they want on it, other than a weapon of mass destruction.  That would put South Korea on a par with North Korea without passing the nuclear threshold and stimulate American defense interests as well as working to balance our trade with South Korea.  Instead the Obama Administration has angered the North Koreans without any substantial benefit to either the United States or South Korea, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Semi-Conductors

There are essentially no companies making semi-conductors in the United States anymore.  As with so many other products we invented are now being made elsewhere.  The United States has lost its manufacturing base.  So many products we use everyday or that are essential to our national defense are no longer made here.  That places us in a terrible position.

In the event of a major war we would have to either build factories to make products here that we now import or secure our sea lanes so that we can continue to import those goods.  The problem with that is that with a smaller navy it becomes harder to both project power and secure our sea lanes.  It also is a problem is the nation we are at war with is the one that is making the products we need or has their sympathy.

If we went to war against North Korea, would Communist China continue to provide us with semi-conductors that enable our military to defeat a Communist Chinese ally?  How much would they charge for those semi-conductors?  Double, triple, ten times the going rate?  Would they sabotage the chips to aid their ally?  We need to manufacture those things that are vital to our national defense; thats' the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

War on Terror

The Obama Administration says that our embassy in Libya was attacked by a spontaneous mob, incited by a video shown of YouTube.  They were upset that a movie trailer was shown that depicted Islam in a manner not of their liking and so they felt justified in murdering innocent people who had nothing to do with the video.

The Obama Administration says that this attack and the others across the Middle East had nothing to do with the anniversary of 9/11.  Apparently they think that no one in America has a calender or remembers anything that happened in our past.  It is foolish to think that these attackers were not based on 9/11 and that these enemies of America can show up with rocket launchers and murder people just on a whim.

The United States is at war with Radical Islam.  The Obama Administration likes to pretend we are not.  They like to pretend everything is fine, because they are not interested in the war.  They don't honor our servicemen.  They impose homosexuals on the military against nearly 250 years of American tradition, even George Washington expelled them from the military.  We need a new administration; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Debate

 
Former Governor Romney apparently won the first debate with President Obama.  The President seemed very lack luster, very uninterested and quite frankly, boring and bored.  On the contrary, Governor Romney was very dynamic and engaged.
 
President Obama has done a very poor job of managing the economy.  He has done a poor job of creating export opportunities for business, he has increased regulation, he has stopped the development of oil and natural gas drilling and pipelines.  All of these have hurt the economy.  He has failed to reduce unemployment below what it was when he took office.  That was supposed to be one of his top priorities. 
 
Now he wants to raise taxes.  One of the worst things you can do in poor economic times it raise taxes because it slows investment in business.  Fewer jobs will be created and fewer companies will expand.  We need a president who understands business and capital creation and wealth creation.  Mitt Romney understands those things, and I intend to vote for him; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Coach Bag

Coach sells ladies purses.  According to a recent lawsuit they asked ladies for their name, address and phone numbers when they came into their stores and made a purchase with a credit card.  In California you can't record such information when a customer pays with a credit card.  Coach says they did nothing wrong.

Several ladies were concerned about this and so they ended up in a lawsuit against Coach.  As a settlement the ladies will get $3,000.00 each because Coach violated the law and collected their information.  The other members of the class action lawsuit will get a 30% off discount coupon to use when they buy another Coach bag.  They key here is that the attorneys will be getting hundreds of thousands of dollars for representing these plaintiffs.

No one was killed. No one was hurt.  If a law was violated why didn't the district attorney simply send Coach a letter saying stop collecting this information?  If they continued to collect it, why didn't someone go to jail?  Why do we even have a law like this?  If people don't want to give their information to Coach, let them shop someplace else or pay cash.  It's lawsuits and laws like this that are responsible for California having higher unemployment that the national average.  If I were Coach, I would simply stop selling bags in California; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Nuclear China

Years ago when the USA was far ahead of the Soviet Union in missile and nuclear weapons development, the Left demanded a nuclear freeze for the United States. Now the West and even Russia are cutting back on existing nuclear weapons and slowing or stopping nuclear research, Communist China is going full speed ahead and building and developing their nuclear arsenal.

Worse yet, the Communist Chinese are not under any restraints in what they can build and they are under no international inspection regimes. The USA and Russia have often exchanged information and even had inspectors on site to visit nuclear sites. This is essential to insure the information is correct.

The Communist Chinese do their work in secret, they build in secret, and they deploy nuclear weapons in secret. Communist China has no fear of invasion. Russia, India and the United States are their greatest competition and none of us have any intention of attacking China, except in response to a Chinese attack on them or their allies. As Communist China uses unfair trade practices to gather money, they use that ill gotten gain not to help their people achieve a Western lifestyle, but rather to build nuclear and conventional weapons; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Retire

All government retirement plans should be the same, Social Security.  They should not negotiate special plans for early retirement, or large payments just because they work in the government. There are plenty of people in the civilian and non-government economy that work until the day they die because they can't afford to retire, why should government workers get a better deal then the very people they serve?

Government disability plans should also be Social Security Disability, just like the rest of us.  Why is it that a police officer can hurt his back and retire on full pay, without restrictions on how much he can make each year, when a security guard, steel worker, cab driver, college professor, or nurse may not get anything for the same injury and have to continue to keep working at a lower paying job?

Public service is just that, service.  It is not a chance to lord over the people and should not be an opportunity to get rich.  The Congress, Judicial and Executive branches get massive retirement benefits the rest of us never even dream about.  All this must end.  It is unfair for people who have good jobs and job security to then retire not only early but with a large pension; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Fifteen Kids, Three Fathers, No Husband

A 37 year old woman has fifteen children by three different fathers and no one is caring for them.  She has never been married.  She has no job, no regular place to stay and refuses to take responsibility for her actions.  She simply wants other people to pay for her children to live, eat, and be clothed.

This woman constantly rejects assistance and consistently makes poor decisions.  People make mistakes but we should learn from those mistakes.  A young woman who gets pregnant without a father in the picture should learn from that mistake, that lapse of moral judgement and both refrain from having sexual relations and concentrate on what is best for her child.

In this case the woman was evicted.  Rather than prepare for the eviction she just let all her things be placed on the curb and walked away with her kids.  As a result all their clothing, toys, furniture, everything they own was lost.  She has relatives and three men who fathered her children, yet she has alienated them all.  She is an excellent example of what happens when we turn from God and try and do the impossible by ourselves.  She continues to be arrogant and it is her children who suffer.  She has rejected God's law and man's law and now she wants others to support her, without changing her lifestyle.  These kids will likely grow up to be career criminals, and wards of the state.  It's too bad because all of this was preventable; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Lottery

A woman on welfare won a life changing amount of money on the lottery. Despite this, her greed caused her to continue to receive food stamps and welfare until she was caught and fined. Then she died of a possible drug overdose. Her ex-boyfriend said she could not handle the money.


Gambling is not unlike drinking alcohol. In moderation as a form of adult entertainment it has it's place but it is best if you can avoid it completely. The less you are involved with it the better off you will be and if you never drink or gamble, then you are better off than the vast majority of those who do one or the other or both.

Certainly the government should not be in the business of encouraging behavior that is questionable, morally. Gambling hurts far more people than it helps. Most of the people who play the lottery can ill afford the buck for a ticket. Once one of them does win, it frequently ends up in early death or disaster as they can't handle the responsibility of a lot of money. End government sponsored lotteries, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.
