Beef & Chicken & Pork & Bambi

There is a popular tee shirt out there that says “Meat is Murder.” The human mouth has teeth in it that are designed for cutting and tearing meat. The human body is very able to process meat and meat provides a good source of vitamins, minerals and protein that the body needs. That says to me that the human was designed to eat meat.

Part of the American diet has been both domestic and wild animals since before the founding of the Republic. It is important to our standard of living that we continue to insure that ranching says a profitable and desirable occupation. One of ways to do that is to insure that we don’t use too much of our farmland to grow crops that should go for animal feed as fuel.

Corn has been grown for animal feed for centuries but in recent years farmers have been lured into growing corn for fuel. Making fuel from growing things is a good idea but it should not be at the expense of increased prices for food. Waste greens and plants grown in areas not presently under cultivation for food are what should be using rather than human and animal food crops; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Gun Control

Many people don’t like guns. Guns are a dangerous instrument. Guns don’t harm anyone unless a human being intervenes. Guns are far less dangerous than many tools that we use in our daily lives. Automobiles are very dangerous. Tens of thousands of people are killed every year in automobile accidents and hundreds of thousands more are injured too.

Guns are a tool. When used properly they are a tool that can do a lot of good. Several million times a year in the US private citizens use firearms to protect themselves, their families and their property from criminals. Many people use firearms to protect themselves and their livestock from predators using guns.

Firearms are also used for many sporting purposes. Hunting provides both sport and food for millions of Americans. The proper management of game resources is good for the environment, made possible by the fees paid by hunters. Many other people do target shooting and even several Olympic shooting events. Guns are a tool, neither evil nor good. It is men and their actions that give the firearm a moral role; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Freedom of Speech

Our Constitution gives us freedom of speech. There have traditionally been a few restrictions on that freedom but generally those restrictions have been very limited. Now as political correctness works its way from a concept into law, the freedom to speak has been trimmed, cut and nibbled away. Some of these restrictions may seem like a good idea at first glance, but in reality society has not been better off with these laws.

When someone makes a statement that indicates they disapprove of other persons sexual practices, then they are tarred with being homophobic. That person is then often required to undergo re-education until they profess a change in their beliefs and morality. If someone makes a statement that is critical of someone of another race, the truth of the statement is often ignored and the person who made the statement is branded a racist.

When these statements are coupled with criminal behavior then the person making the utterances is said to have committed a “hate” crime and is in need of additional punishment. If additional punishment is effective in reducing a criminal act against some people, then why don’t we increase that punishment across the board for all people? It seems to me to be a violation of the concept of equal protection under the law if some people are more protected than others. Every murder victim deserves the same consideration. Every murder is wrong. Every murder takes a life and demands another life in compensation; no matter the race, orientation, age or gender of the victim; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Spend My Money For Me

Do we need the government to run Social Security for us? While I favor mandatory savings accounts for people to use for both disability and retirement, I don’t think they need to be run by the Federal government. I think that each person should have an individual retirement account with a disability retirement insurance component. If it were both mandatory and had government oversight like a public utility I think we would be much better off then we are now.

The Federal government has run Social Security like a Ponzi scheme. The Social Security system has required existing benefits to be paid out of existing income from the beginning. It is not fair for people to pay into the system their whole life and then die and leave nothing to their heirs. It is not fair for young people to be burdened with paying for old people who paid into a system that did not save their money for them.

It is not fair for taxpayers to pay into a system that pays benefits to legal aliens who never paid into the system but move here and are either old or disabled and get benefits right away. People who don’t pay into the system should not benefit from the system. If the benefits were personal, managed by individuals, but mandatory with government oversight I think we could provide greater benefits, at less cost without government interference. I think the reason the Congress does not want Social Security reform is that they have been spending the money and don’t want to give up that power; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

High Taxes

Oil companies make profits that typically are less than 5% of their gross revenue. In California the government taxes gasoline sales at about 30% the gross sales price of fuel. When I read that the government complaining about excessive profits from the oil industry I have to compare that to the cost of gasoline taxes. Why is a profit of 6% to 10% excessive but a tax rate of 30% fully proper?

Our government schools have done a poor job of teaching people how business works. They also don’t seem to have much idea about how the government works and especially how the government finances its operations. Much of the taxation that the government does is not there simply to raise revenue. It is there to change behavior. That type of taxation is part of the often destructive power the government wields.

The government taxes oil products to intentionally make them more expensive. Their intent is that the consumers will use less oil to save money if the price is high. So oil products are highly taxed, not only to raise revenue but to change behavior. The people who suffer the most for this are the poor who have to spend a higher percentage of their income to pay these high taxes on gasoline. Taxes should be generally designed to raise revenue to pay for the government, not to change behavior; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Libya Falls to Rebels

The people of Libya have defeated the conventional forces of Gadhafi. The people rising up with their own small arms and some air support from NATO managed to obtain their freedom from an evil dictator. This is a clear example to those who would deny the people the right to keep and bear arms. This is exactly the reason the people were granted the 2nd Amendment to the Bill of Rights to the Constitution.

When their government becomes oppressive and there are not other options, the people can take up arms against their oppressors. As we look at the collapse of government services in Libya it is important for the people to have weapons to protect themselves from the criminal element that will prey on those weaker than themselves, now that police services have stopped. All of this is a good example as to why free people should be permitted to keep and bear arms.

Guns and ammunition are expensive. It takes practice to stay proficient with firearms. People need to be able to obtain weapons and ammunition when they are free. They need to have the ability to obtain, carry and practice with their firearms when the nation is free and there is no hint of oppression. When the nation starts to slip into oppression it’s too late to start gathering weapons, ammunition and practicing with them. Guard our firearms freedom rights, that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Iran Nuclear Weapons

http://thinkprogress.org/security/2011/06/07/238238/rand-report-iran/

A recent report indicates that Iran is very close to developing nuclear weapons. What issue in the Middle East will be improved by that development? Will anyone feel safer knowing that the radical Muslims who run Iran have missiles and nuclear weapons? Will Western and Central Europe step up and try to fix this problem or will they cower in fear that this enemy of freedom and democracy and Western principles has developed nuclear weapons?

Candidate for President Obama said he would meet with the leaders of Iran anytime, without pre-conditions and discuss the elimination of their nuclear weapons program. How’s that working out? President Obama must be too busy trying to gut our national defense programs than to meet with Iran. The US and our Allies need to be putting tremendous pressure on Iran to drop their nuclear weapons program. We should even be using covert and overt methods to stop the program.

Iran has ties with terrorist groups and has been trying to destabilize our efforts in Iran. They are also an implacable foe of Israel, our greatest ally in the Middle East. The US needs to put a halt to these dangerous nations like Iran and North Korea developing nuclear weapons. What will we do if they choose to give or sell them to Cuba or Venezuela? We ran a blockade on Cuba when the Soviet Union tried to place nuclear weapons there before. Would we do that again? We won’t have to if we stop it before they are fully developed; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Don’t Be Fooled

http://vigilantcitizen.com/latestnews/the-25-rules-of-disinformation/

There are techniques the media and the Democrats and even some Republicans use to manipulate the flow of information to the people. They seldom criticize liberals but attack conservatives for the smallest flaw, even try to invent flaws if they are not apparent. The recent attacks on Michelle Bachmann with the media asking about her psychological firm providing services to homosexuals who want to become straight is a good example.

Often the media make charges with no evidence and make ad hominem attacks on conservative rather than discuss their actual position on issues and the relative merit of those positions. Calling conservatives extreme right wing or outside the mainstream of America, particularly when they speak on abortion or other social issues. Racist is one of the words liberals like to use, particularly when it comes to immigration issues. If you are not in favor of open borders then you are racists. Once that name is applied then there is no reason to list to any of the reasonable or logical argument about your position.

Liberals often demand instant and complete solutions and since some problems can take years to develop they often take years to resolve. Liberals often use the rare exception to paint a broad brush or they look at the problem and draw the wrong conclusions. The danger of back street abortion is not solved by abortion on demand. That problem is solved by people limiting their sexual relations to the marriage bed. Our borders have been open for decades; it could take two or three years to solve that problem. Disinformation does not serve the people in a democratic system. Openness, truth and careful, thoughtful discussion and analysis serve the people; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Blue is Beautiful

The Smurfs Are Racist, Anti-Semites, Antoine Buéno Suggests In 'Le Petit Livre Bleu'

Some people can look at anything and find offense. The Smurfs are not unlike most cartoons shown in the United States. They are bland and project liberal, secular values. Even this analysis of the Smurfs has a liberal bias. The author accuses the Smurfs of being racists but never actually provides evidence of racist behavior on the part of the Smurfs. The author cites two examples of Smurf racism but they are both from the same episode and are both an interpretation by the author rather than overt racism on the part of the Smurfs.

The Smurfs defer to Papa Smurf who seems to rule them as a dictator. My interpretation was always that they were all part of the same family and he was the head of the household, rather than a political leader. In a traditional family the eldest male is often one that the younger members will defer to for direction. It’s not like a totalitarian system with giant statues and posters of Papa Smurf all over their village.

Like most totalitarian systems the Smurfs also don’t practice an open religion. They are not overtly Christian and the concept of god generally goes unnoticed in their world, the author of the article about the Smurfs does not mention this. It’s common in cartoons, however and little should be read into that omission. The Smurfs have been just a rather bland cartoon that does not project much either good or bad; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Drill, Pump & Refine

http://www.newswithviews.com/DeWeese/tom197.htm

The US government has locked up oil and coal in the Gulf Region, the Western states, the California coast, and Alaska. We have massive oil and coal reserves, yet we don’t want to extract them. We are so afraid of an oil spill, water pollution or other crisis that we don’t do anything. Instead of trying to build windmills that only provide power when the wind blows, and provide power that’s expensive and noisy to generate, we should look at techniques that are safer to extract oil and coal from the places we know it exists.

We need to build off shore oil platforms in shallow water. It is very difficult to drill for oil in deep water and if a blow out happens it is harder to fix than a shallow water well. The US has not built a new oil refinery since the 1970’s. We need to build new more efficient oil refineries. We need to realize that wind and solar energy are not going to solve our energy problems in the next 50 years.

It takes years to build oil refineries and to develop new oilfields. We need to act now to develop new energy sources and that includes drilling for more oil here in America. We need to build new refineries. We need to develop more coal fields. We need more nuclear energy, new nuclear plants are safe. New nuclear technology is not the same as that used in Chernobyl or in Japan. They don’t melt down and the nuclear waste problem has been solved. I don’t want to drive a roller skate car, I don’t want to live in a dinky apartment, with electricity for four hours a day. We need to provide a great living for our people, and cheap and abundant energy is the key to that future; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Gadhafi in NATO Sights

Admiral Locklear Quoted: NATO Trying to Kill Gadhafi

A NATO representative has said they are trying to kill Khadafy in Libya. If this is not true then I ask, why not? When dealing with a totalitarian government it is the dictator you need to defeat, not his followers. In the First Gulf War we defeated the Iraqi people but not the Iraqi dictator. Saddam Hussain continued to order resistance long after it was proved to be futile. Once we stopped the fighting he was able to rebuild his nation and continue his outrageous behavior.

In the Second Gulf War once Saddam Hussain was captured and executed his party and their resistance collapsed. The cult of the personality is very important. Once that personality is gone the government will collapse. Libya is the same way; once Khadafy is gone the government will fall apart. No one is ready to step into his shoes. Totalitarian governments seldom make very good succession plans.

North Korea spent years building up the dictators’ son as his heir. Even then there were some questions about his ability to rule. If Khadafy can be located he should be targeted. He is a legitimate military target as the head of his nation’s armed forces. As the head of government he should also be considered to be a legitimate target. It is better to kill one person and end the war with victory then to have it plow on for years sending thousands through a meat grinder until the NATO and the rebels achieve victory or stalemate. Cut off the head of the snake and end the threat; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

It’s Jihad Not Insanity

http://townhall.com/columnists/dianawest/2011/05/25/senseless_seems_easier_than_saying_jihad/page/full/

While the main stream media struggles to understand mass murder in America it’s clear they simply don’t get it. The Western World has been at war with radical Islam for over a thousand years. Islam has not been spread by Islamic missionaries going to other nations and convincing people that it was a true religion. It has spread by immigration or more commonly by warfare. It has only been overcome by warfare or by the word of Christ.

The main stream media does not or will not understand these facts. When faced with a mass murder event they look for any reason to explain why it happened and they look for places to put the blame. They generally overlook the obvious. Often the simplest answer is the best answer. If a killer says he is doing murder in the name of Islam, then his motivation is probably radical Islam.

Certainly all kinds of people commit murder. Christians, Jews, Muslims, agnostics and atheists all murder people for their own personal reasons or because they are insane. Only radical Muslims murder others because they and many of their leaders tell them that mass murder is an appropriate expression of their dedication to God. People who are part of a group that validates murder as a legitimate form of religious expression can be dangerous and should be subject to extra scrutiny by the media. If someone belongs to such a group and commits mass murder, then perhaps we don’t have to look far for a reason to explain their actions; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Buy Guns

http://www.alphecca.com/?p=1820

The militia has long formed an important part of the defense of the United States. In the event of invasion or civil unrest the militia has been ready for the protection of their communities. While some try to claim the militia is the National Guard, this is not true. The militia is all the people who can bear arms. Traditionally the militia is all able bodied men in the community.

This tradition lives on under the theory of posse comitatus. The local police can compel individuals to assist them and even confer police powers upon them. While this does not happen very often in big cities, it does happen sometimes in small town were there are few police. It also happens in major emergencies when the police are stretched beyond their ability to handle the problem.

In World War Two the California State Militia was formed as a specific adjunct to the National Guard since most of them were out of the state fighting the war. This was an organized militia, but those adult men who are physically fit are still part of the unorganized militia. Those who will not maintain arms for the defense of their community are shirking a part of their duty as citizens of the nation. Those arms need to be arms suitable for use in military circumstances. That has been an American tradition since we were English colonies; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Book Burning?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErzxOz3Dzv8&feature=player_embedded#at=194

The US is at war against Islamic radicals. One of the best possible weapons against a repressive ideology is a better ideology. The best ideology to use is the Word of Christ. Rather than provide religious freedom to Iraq and Afghanistan we have installed governments that are officially Islamic nations. They continue to deny religious freedom to their people.

I don’t mind if a nation wants to base their laws on a specific religious belief system. All I ask is that minority religions have the freedom to believe, practice and promote their religious beliefs without government harassment and enjoy the protection of their government. Rather than instill that type of system of government in Iraq and Afghanistan, we have permitted their old governments to be replaced by new ones that oppress religious minorities, even to the point of prison.

As a result, American troops who on their own time have spoken of their love for Christ to local people have been disciplined by the US military. The soldiers have even had their private property seized so that they would not have Bibles to give to local people. The military has then burned those Bibles. The US Military should not take part in religious oppression of its citizens, its military members or even third party nationals. Radical Islam is the danger and the enemy, not the Bible; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Somalia & The West

There are people all over the world who need help from others to survive. South Sudan is a newly independent nation that has secured it’s freedom after a long civil war with the Islamic northern Sudan. People in Iraq and Afghanistan need Western aid to continue to develop into stable governments, free of radical Islam.

The nation of Japan has suffered from a terrible earthquake, and South Korea is having massive flooding. Many in Indonesia have not recovered from their massive tsunami from a few years ago. Haiti is still a disaster after war and natural disasters. The United States has had it’s own disasters to deal with, flooding, extreme heat, and tornados. The massive need means that nations and NGOs need to prioritize their giving; the Western nations alone cannot save everyone. It’s time to let other nations and NGOs spend some of their money and resources on saving some of those who need help.

Somalia is an Islamic nation controlled by war lords and even groups affiliated with Al Qaeda. These enemies of the West are in great need due to on going war and famine. Several times in recent memory the US and the West sent in aid and eventually troops and each time it did not end well for either the troops or the people of Somalia. Even Jesus did not force himself on people, in Matthew 10:23 Jesus said “But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.” There are plenty of other places where people want our help, the West should not force it’s aid on Somalia, that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Flying Cars

http://www.terrafugia.com/faq.html

It appears there is now a commercially available flying car. The first ones can already be reserved and deliveries should begin sometime next year. This is great news. The concept they have taken is to try and create a light plane that is street legal as a car. They can be operated with only a driver’s license and a short period of aviation instruction and licensing.

This vehicle only carries two passengers and its total lift ability is not great so the cargo they can bring is limited. There are many restrictions on this vehicle. Since they only carry two people, families can use to travel together. Since the range is limited to about 500 miles very long trips will require several stops. The slow speed, about 100 miles per hour is not a huge advantage over ground transportation.

The vehicle will be a huge plus for flying around large metropolitan areas, like Los Angeles and Southern California. Landing at a small airport is seldom busy and being able to simply drive away is a great idea. The real plus for this aircraft is the potential. Once the concept is in daily use with thousands of vehicles in the air, the idea of the flying car will be proved and other companies will enter the business. We just have to prevent the lawyers and Communist Chinese from stealing it from America; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

No Compromise

The main stream media acts as if compromise is a goal in and of itself. Negotiation and compromise is important only if you can move closer to your primary goals. Too often recently the media is trying to move conservatives to compromise when compromise is simply a surrender of their basic principles.

If you believe that marriage is ordained by God to be between one adult man and one unrelated adult woman then there is no compromise to that position. Allowing homosexuals to marry is not a compromise because it preserves the ban on marrying children, relatives and multiple partners.

Some things are simply not open to compromise. Ethical, moral principles should never be compromised. Compromise a bit this year and then next year and then next year and never get anything in return. Eventually, you have lost everything and gained nothing. The homosexual lobby has been doing that for decades. Make homosexual activity legal. Give homosexual domestic partnerships. Give homosexuals anti-discrimination laws for employment, then housing, then pass hate-crime legislation giving them special privileges. Finally, give homosexuals same sex marriage. Compromise at the beginning, don’t stop compromising and finally you have lost everything; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

HOV Lanes

The plan was that the Federal Government would provide the states with money to build High Occupancy Vehicle lanes. These lanes would be used for vehicles with two or more people in the car and traffic congestion would be lessoned. Since two or three people would be in each car instead of one, they could theoretically take thousands of commuters off the road at the time the road needs relief.

These HOV lanes were being underutilized so the government permitted certain alternate fuel vehicles were permitted to use these lanes too. Although they would not take other vehicles off the highway, their lower emissions and higher mileage would benefit society so much that we could reward these drivers with permission to use the HOV lanes.

Despite these promises, the HOV lanes have been a failure. They always seem to be either empty or just as jammed as the other lanes. The HOV lanes are dangerous, despite warnings and special lines on the street people still cross into the HOV lanes at places where they should not. The HOV lanes are also not fulfilling their primary purpose; they are not cutting commute times. The HOV lanes need to be eliminated and returned to full service use. The American highway transportation system needs to have the money spent on gasoline taxes used to repair and widen existing roads, not put into the general fund. That will solve our highway gridlock not HOV gimmicks, that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Space Race

Communist China has announced plans to build their own space station and put a man on the moon by 2020. This the same month President Obama has ended our Space Shuttle program. Now the United States has no ability to send humans into space, but the Communist Chinese are using American money to build their own manned space program. Our own foolish trade policy has financed Communist Chinese space aspirations.

The United States used to be the premier space power in the world. The US has reaped great political, economic and military benefits by being first in space. It is irresponsible for President Obama to end the Space Shuttle program without a viable operational system to replace it. While I fully support private industry working to move people and payloads into space, they are not ready yet.

If China is going to the Moon by 2020 the USA should go there by 2017. We should have a permanent Moon base by 2020 and we should be on Mars by that time. Space provides huge spin offs from the technology from space flight. Space can provide even more benefits if we will simply use it more than we do now; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Lockerbie Bomber

The Lockerbie Bomber was released by the Scottish authorities two years ago because he only had three months to live. A few days ago he appeared at a pro-Kaddafi rally. So much for the he only has a few months to live and he needs to be released from prison so he can die at home. Once again the West has had their laws used to violate their very principles.

This dangerous terrorist and criminal was released from prison so he could return to Libya and receive a hero’s welcome. Then, if that was not bad enough he did not die after the three months as he was supposed to happen.

The West must be firmer in it’s dealings with radical Islam and dictators. They only respect strength and failing to be strong only encourages them to take further advantage of us. Kaddafi and his government ran an operation to murder hundreds of Americans and it resulted in the death of hundreds of people in Lockerbie and eventually the bankruptcy of Pan Am. For years, Kaddafi denied Libyan involvement in the bombing. Once pressure mounted on his government only then did he permit the extradition of the bomber. This long term trail of death and lies are simply more reasons to support the Libyan rebels and oust Kaddafi, that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

A Few Dollars Short

$125,000,000,000.00 short each month to run the Federal Government. We have to borrow that much every month to run the Federal Government, according to CNN. What did the Federal Government do for you today that was essential? How much did Federal Government employees get paid today? The Federal Government must look to the states for some solutions.

Wisconsin has stopped collective bargaining for state employees. As a result they are making big savings in benefits and wages, with only limited effects on the individual employee. The Federal government should eliminate some of the unionization of Federal employees. Federal employees should get Social Security, just like all non-government employees, why should their pension systems be better than those of the people they serve?

California is freezing hiring and is giving most employees furloughs. They get one or two days off per month without pay. This allows the employee to retain their job but does not cost as much as having them work full time. What should really happen is the employees should simply receive a pay cut. The Federal government should cut the pay of all employees, including the President, Congress, the military. Everyone who gets a Federal check should receive a cut, military retirees, congressional retirees, Social Security recipients, everyone. It’s better to cut everyone five or ten percent than to collapse the government and economy. We must do whatever it takes to stop the endless cycle of tax, spend, borrow and spend more; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

War in Libya

President Obama does not take seriously the need to make war in a proper manner. He has totally bungled the War in Libya. Rather than build a broad base coalition and get approval from the Congress, President Obama has used American power to get us involved in a war with few allies and no one is willing to commit enough military force to bring victory.

This is an easy war for the Americans and NATO to win. It is a conventional war fought against a conventional enemy. Had the Allies set up an airfield in the desert of Libya, staff it with attack helicopters, and kept them supplied with American air transport, they could operate 24/7 against the forces of Kaddafi. The main advantage Kaddafi has is his armored vehicles. Armored vehicles without air support are highly vulnerable to destruction by attack helicopters.

President Obama also may a huge tactical error early on in the campaign. He told the world and the enemy, that we would not put troops on the ground. Instead President Obama should have said that we will do whatever is necessary to depose Kaddafi and his regime. Then he should park US Marines in ships off shore. That would cause the Kaddafi regime to have to keep large numbers of troops and artillery tied up waiting for an invasion that would never come. People who don’t understand basic military principles should not be president, that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Congress

Congress needs to take action fast to save the nation. We need to pass some laws and repeal some laws. The right to life amendment to the Constitution needs to be revived and passed. We must protect the most innocent and helpless in our society and unborn children certainly fit that description. Pass the defense of marriage act as a Constitutional amendment. Marriage is between one adult man and one adult woman who are not otherwise related to one another. We have to stop the homosexuals, the pedophiles and the polygamists from further destruction of traditional marriage.

The 1968 Gun Control Act sections that require a firearm to have a "sporting purpose" test should be repealed. The points system should also be repealed for firearms imports. The section that bans interstate mail order of firearms should also be repealed. These sections of the law provide no reasonable public safety purpose and simply restrict law abiding citizens from owning weapons for personal protection, creating higher consumer prices by restricting competition.

The Congress needs to eliminate the Department of Energy and the Department of Education. We have no real national energy policy and most of their real duties can be performed by the Department of Defense. The Department of Education is performing a job that is better done by the states. We should eliminate this department which has done little to improve education. Rather than continue to pretend that our energy and education problems will be solved by Federal intervention we need to just eliminate these departments and save the money; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

800K

Some now estimate that 800,000 homes may be foreclosed this year. The number would be much higher but there are so many home owners who are behind on their payments that the banks can’t process all the foreclosures fast enough. GM gets a bail out and Wall Street gets a bail out but average Americans will still lose their homes. The phrase “too big to fail” certainly does describe the Obama Administrations approach to helping people in these times of economic crisis. If you are a large donor or employ union workers you get help from the Federal Government. If you are an ordinary taxpayer, you are on your own.

Rather than spend $800 billion dollars to stimulate the economy by giving money to car companies and banks, the government could have spent money to improve our infrastructure. We could have then employed millions of Americans for years and then they would have had money to pay their mortgages. Hard working Americans who have been forced out of work through no fault of their own are having to subsidize incompetents and crooks in Detroit and Wall Street.

We could also regulate the banking industry so that the people don’t have to pay usurious interest rates on their debt. The government is taxing us too much, the banks are keeping interest rates too high and the middle class is being destroyed. Credit cards have interest rates of as much as 20%, home mortgages are at three times the rate of inflation, and student loans have no upper limit on their interest charges. College students are leaving school with no job prospects and enough student loan debt to keep them tied up for decades. Cut taxes, cut regulations, stop usury and save the middle class, that’s the View from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Too Many Taxes

We pay enough taxes. I don’t want to pay more taxes. I want to pay less tax than I pay now at every level, local, state and Federal. I don’t want to raise anyone else’s taxes either. The government is too big and does too much. We give too much money to other countries that are not our friends.

The government should eliminate about half of the gun control laws. They can then cut the BATF since they will have less to do. The Federal government has no business in education, that’s a state and local function. They can eliminate the Department of Education. The President and First Lady have massive staffs of unprecedented size, they could be cut by at least half and still provide the support they need for their legitimate functions.

The Department of Energy could be eliminated and most of their critical functions can be taken over by the Department of Defense. Most laws about private discrimination should be repealed, private persons and private companies should be allowed to hire, fire, promote, sell to or be with anyone they want to without government interference. That would save millions more in enforcement and lawsuits. There is much to cut, not everything that is a good idea needs to be a law, and I am tired of paying for it all, that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Polygamy

Beginning in the 1950’s our society has degraded the concept of marriage. The concept of one man and one woman joined together by God forever has been steadily nibbled away. At first our society made no fault divorce easy to obtain. No longer did husband and wife have to go before a judge and give good reasons for a divorce. They only had to say they did not want to be married, pay a few dollars to attorneys, and they are divorced. Over time what was once rare, is now commonplace, people would marry, divorce, marry, and divorce and so on. In the past that cycle would be cut by intervention of the legal system to stop the easy divorce.

Over time, so many people fit this category that it diminished the perceived value of marriage. So starting in the 1960’s we embraced those who did not bother to get married. People would simply live together without the benefit of marriage. Over time states and companies would provide benefits for those who live together as a couple, even without marriage. Again, the value and exclusiveness of marriage is reduced.

In the last few decades, people have been pressing for the legalization of homosexual couples to get married. Despite repeated attempts to pass this it has failed over three dozen times in referendums, demonstrating limited public support. Despite this, activist judges and pro-homosexual lawmakers have forced homosexual marriage on several states; further reducing the uniqueness of traditional marriage. Now as part of the next level of decline, the main stream media is campaigning for both child marriage and multiple marriages. “Reality” shows and media events are running propagandizing in favor of the next deviant downgrading of traditional marriage. We must defend traditional marriage because it is the basic building block of our society; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Teachers Cheating

Teachers, principals, and school district administrators have been caught cheating. Atlanta schools have made impressive gains in recent years and now those gains have been called into question because of this cheating scandal. Hundreds out of thousands of teachers have been caught and apparently most of them will be terminated and maybe banned from teaching.

Erroll B. Davis the Acting Superintendent of Public Schools has called into question the leadership of the schools that would create an environment that would see cheating on test scores as an option. He has said, rightly that the consequences for students failing to achieve their academic goals should be far less than the consequences for being caught cheating. He is exactly correct that this scandal is a moral failing.

We have taken prayer, morality and God out of the schools and we act surprised when teachers and administrators act in their own interest instead of doing what is right, even when it is difficult. This is an excellent reason why we need to distribute school vouchers to everyone and allow each parent to select what school they want for their child to attend. When the public schools are the only choice, corruption is sure to follow, that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Bachmann Clinic

ABC News has reported the Bachmann Clinic is treating homosexual behavior. The claim is that someone who is homosexual can change their orientation if they are willing to change. This was a very common procedure not too long ago. Many clinics perform such treatments; the fact that the Bachmann Clinic performs this treatment is not news.

What this is really is an opportunity for the main stream media to pretend that Republican Presidential Candidate Michelle Bachmann is intolerant and homophobic. Homosexual behavior is not normal. It is not the behavior a society should encourage. In many states it is even illegal. If someone wants to seek clinical help to modify their behavior to one that is more socially acceptable then they should have that help available.

I applaud the Bachmann Clinic for trying to help people to escape a lifestyle that is unnatural and sinful. Homosexuals face higher rates of suicide, and are at greater risk for HIV/AIDS than the general population. Any reasonable thing that can be done that can help in bring people back into the mainstream is worthwhile; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Circumcision, the Unkindest Cut of All?

For the last 5,000 years Jews have been circumcising young boys as part of their religious heritage. Many other people believe that circumcision is a more healthful way of living. In either case it has been a private matter between the parents of the child and their doctor or religious practitioner. There have been no reported deaths due to circumcision in the United States in the last ten years or more.

Suddenly in the city of San Francisco, California there has become a circumcision crisis. They have placed a resolution on the ballot for next year to make circumcision illegal. The same liberal mindset that says abortion is fine right up to the moment of birth say that you can’t circumcise your child.

Circumcision is a tradition and a medical practice that has not been shown to cause any harm to the child. The pain is minimal and the recover is very swift. It is less a traumatic injury than cutting the umbilical cord. Small boys heal quickly and the risk of infection is minimal. We already have too many stupid laws in California and we don’t need another one, that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Disaster Looming

Under the American Constitution citizens of the United States are given certain rights and guaranteed other rights that are given not by law but by The Creator. Persons who are not citizens but are in the United States are generally protected by most of those rights as well. Prisoners of war from lawful combatants are also given rights by treaty and international agreement. Unlawful combatants who are not US citizens have almost no rights at all under American law, especially if they are not on American soil.

This is why it is so important to keep Guantanamo Base open and the detention center running. By keeping unlawful combatants who are not US citizens there we don’t have to grant them many rights. Apart from a few basic human rights, such as food, water and shelter we don’t owe them much of anything. We have used enhanced interrogation techniques on some prisoners and it has helped us to gain their cooperation. Certainly the best methods of interrogation are not enhanced, but when those fail and they sometimes will, we need to have methods at our disposal that do no permanent damage, do not endanger the lives of the prisoner but will greatly increase the psychological pressure on them to cooperate with our interrogators.

President Obama foolishly not only ended these practices, but he made much of them public, so that our enemies could see how mild they really were. Often the fear of enhanced interrogation was enough to gain the cooperation of prisoners without having to use it on them. Gathering human intelligence is sometimes a unseemly and distasteful business, just as war itself. War involves the willful destruction of property and the intentional injuring and killing of other people. I place American and Allied lives above those of the unlawful combatants who we are fighting. We need to use every reasonable method to gather information to keep our people safe; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Illegal and Immoral Immigration

http://youtu.be/YMaNa1K8lJo

Going where you are neither invited nor wanted in at best rude and at worst immoral and illegal. There is a flood of people entering the United States without going through the process that is legally required to come here legally. It is important for every nation to control their border. It is a fundamental part of being a sovereign nation to say who may enter and who may leave a country.

People who circumvent the system and enter this nation illegally are a huge problem. First we don’t now who they are, so they could be criminals or even terrorists. That poses a great danger to us all. They could be carrying diseases. People who enter legally have to pass a background check and have to be checked to see they don’t bring disease into this nation.

People who enter illegally generally don’t have jobs waiting for them or sponsors, unlike those who come here within the system. That means they have a great likelihood of being a burden to society. They turn to crime. They go on welfare or they work in substandard conditions and for substandard pay. That drives down wages and decreases job opportunities for citizens and those legally here. Or if they take a decent job at a fair wage, then they are almost certainly taking a job from an American citizen who is presently out of work. We must work harder to control our border, prevent those here illegally from receiving any type of government services and stop them from working here; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.
