The Church That Does Not Offend

Many churches today forget that Jesus himself said that “For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three” The Gospel according to St. Luke 12:52. If a church does not sometimes offend the members then it is probably not doing its job. Jesus called the church to be in the world but not of the world. That means the church will have different values from the world.

Traditional values like the right to life for the unborn and traditional marriage are two examples of the church preaching a message different from the values of many in the world. The message of salvation that freedom from sin comes from a belief in Jesus and not from other religions is central to the church’s message. Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me’” the Gospel according to St. John 14:6. This teaching is often in conflict with the secular world of diversity and moral relevance where all religions worship the same god and all bring salvation.

The values of the church are timeless and unchanging. They stand as a rock in a world that changes frequently. The world has always been at war against the church. Jesus himself was put to death by the world; we should not be surprised that we face opposition when we preach His word; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Gangsters & LawFare

Gangs are using the criminal justice system against itself. Just as the radical Muslim terrorists use the LawFare tactic to prevent the Western nations from prosecuting them, these same tactics are being used by gangsters to escape justice. They delay their trials so that other gang members can intimidate witnesses and even prosecutors and judges. They create havoc by requesting witnesses who are not really witnesses, just to delay the proceedings.

The government does a poor job of providing swift justice to the victims of crimes. They need to remember that while respecting the rights of the individual, there needs to be protection for witnesses, and justice for victims. Accused persons take years to get their cases to trial. How is this justice if an innocent person has been accused? They have to spend years out of their lives waiting for a trial, often in jail! It also reduces the chance of a conviction and the criminals know this too. People forget what happened, they talk to other witnesses and get their story confused. Defense attorneys count on this and so they use every procedural delay they can, rather than face trial.

The criminals should not be permitted to make a mockery out of the system by that is supposed to capture, prosecute and punish offenders. Victims and the innocent accused all have a right to a speedy trial. Justice should not be delayed until the victims and their families are old or even dead. It’s hard to have closure on a murder, or rape or child molestation if years later you are still attending hearings or waiting for a death sentence to be carried out. Courts need to run six days a week and two shifts per day if that’s what it takes to clear the backlog of cases. Procedural process should not be delayed, loopholes need to be closed and judges need to step up and get trials moving; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

How & What

Recently on CNN they reported “food stamp uses is beginning to taper off.” They did not say “food stamp use continues to rise.” This is one of two methods the main stream media uses to put the happy face on bad news for President Obama. They talk about bad news by giving the best possible spin to it, even if it requires speculation or omission of important information.

The other technique they use is to simply ignore or gloss over other news. When President Bush was in office we constantly heard about the “homeless.” Now that President Obama is in office we seldom hear stories about the homeless crisis. Apparently that has been resolved. We were also bombarded with tales of military veterans who suffered from post traumatic stress disorder. Now that problem has also been handled since we no longer hear about it once Obama was elected as President.

So the main stream media will provide stories that help their liberal politician friends by minimizing bad news and maximizing good news. They will ignore problems that make liberals look bad and empathize those stories when conservatives are in power. Guantanamo is not an issue, homeless is not a problem, our War on Terror is no longer illegal, PTSD no longer happens; until we elect a conservative president; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

OBL Hideout

Osama bin Laden was hiding in a compound, surrounded by women and children. CNN has been reporting about one of his daughters who is twelve years old who witnessed the shooting of her father by US Navy SEALs. During the 9/11 attacks, Osama bin Laden killed twelve year old little girls, so I have no problem with what the SEALs did.

Many liberals complain that the US was attacked on 9/11 because we did not build enough schools, orphanages, and hospitals in Muslim nations, and radical Muslims did open schools in those places. How ironic, because OBL was living in a million dollar compound with 500 Euros in his pocket; not exactly taking from the rich or giving to the poor.

It is important for us to remember who OBL was and what he did to America. He attacked us and killed thousands of American civilians. It was only by the grace of God that thousands more were not killed on 9/11. Some people were not at work that morning and the one’s that were had practiced evacuation of the World Trade Centers and so thousands were saved. OBL is dead and justice has been served; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Bin Laden Photos

There is no need to release the photos of the body of Osama bin Laden. I am glad he is dead, I am glad he was killed by American Armed Forces. Those who are our enemies will not be convinced by a photograph that shows the body of our enemy. Those who are our friends do not need to see photos to know that we have killed our enemy. I see no practical reason to release the photos of a dead man. Right now our enemies can only speculate on the specifics of the death and burial. If the photos are released, then our enemies will only use them against us.

I think we should have historians gather all the information, and interview all those involved with the events. They should talk to President Obama, the SEAL Team members, particularly the one who shot Osama bin Laden, and those who gathered the intelligence and flew the helicopters. Anyone who was even slightly involved should discuss the event.

That information should be gathered together and a report should be generated that is unclassified and safe for release to the general public. It should include photos but there should not be any SEAL Team members personally identified in the photos and they should not show photos of Osama bin Laden in death. All the other information gathered should be collected and classified and kept secret for at least ten years. At that time we can reassess if they need to be released or not; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

California is now facing a huge budget crisis. As a result our state legislature is pressing for more gun control. More gun control? California already has the most severe gun control laws in the United States and despite this our crime rate is not any better than most states and worse than some. We have prisons that are filled to overflowing and rather than keep us safe by keeping violent criminals locked up, our governor is looking for more ways to harass honest, decent law abiding citizens with pointless gun control bills.

None of these bills will prevent a single crime from happening. Rather they will make criminals out of honest people who make a technical error because of our complicated gun control laws. Our gun control laws are so complex that most of our police don’t even know our gun laws. Laws should control the behavior of those who would violate the rights of others. These new gun control laws will not do that.

Accidental gun deaths have been declining for about a hundred years. Hunters and gun owners in general are very safe with their weapons. Criminals are always able to obtain guns. Even in Japan which all but bans firearms ownership, guns are readily available for use by criminals who want them. In Switzerland, nearly every household has a gun, a military assault rifle, and yet their crime rate is about the same as Japan, and both are far less than our crime rate. If the state really wanted to keep us safer, they would permit people to carry concealed weapons so people can defend themselves and work to prevent illegal immigration. Every year Americans, even police, are murdered by illegal aliens. The state is playing politics while people are dying; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

1.7% Solutions

A recent study shows that 1/7% of Americans are homosexual. Yet almost everyday we hear of another politician rushing to pledge allegiance to this group of people who are participating in acts that are immoral. This small group is far too powerful for their numbers. They should wield no political power in the United States.

The last virtue of a decaying society is tolerance is an old saying. It is a saying that is beginning to describe too much of the United States. Our politicians rush to show how tolerant they are of any lifestyle, any wrong, and any behavior that has traditionally been condemned by society. We permit mass murderers and political assassins to live rather than receive the death penalty they deserve.

We permit pornography to be broadcast into our homes and be sold openly in every bookstore, we celebrate those who publish it and act in it. We make excuses for gangsters who destroy our neighborhoods; we permit millions of people to violate our laws and our sovereignty to come here illegally. We allow pirates to seize our ships on the high seas with little response; we tolerate endless wars rather than press them to victory. We must return to a time when tolerance was only one of many virtues. We must become a nation that is moral, strong, and able to take a stand against our enemies. We must have courage to do what is right, even when it is not what is popular, that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

High Gas Prices

As usual the liberal President and his minions in the main stream media are blaming the big oil companies for the high price of gasoline. They complain about the record profits that the oil companies are making. It is the job of companies to make money for the stockholders. We should be glad that big oil companies are making money and lots of it. That allows them to pay high dividends, good wages and invest in more plant and production, that’s what profitable companies do with their money. If only our other industries like the computer industry, television industry and merchant marine were doing so well they would still exist in this country, rather than being outsourced to other countries where the business climate is better.

There is a lot that we can do to reduce the cost of oil. The cost of oil is increase by the high taxes on every gallon, in California we pay a sales tax computed on the price of the gasoline which gives the state more money per gallon of gasoline as the price increases. The long term solutions are to produce more oil here in the USA, get better gas mileage for vehicles; use more natural gas, geothermal power and nuclear power for electricity production. We need to drill offshore here in the USA to increase the supply. You can’t conserve yourself into prosperity.

We need to control immigration, millions of illegal immigrants use billions of dollars worth of gasoline. Various tax breaks should be cut; I prefer a flatter tax rate with fewer deductions. Tax breaks for oil companies should encourage companies in increase American production. We can’t blame big oil companies for our failure to have a national energy policy. We should not tap into the national oil reserve, that’s for an emergency in supply, not to manipulate prices. Big oil has done a great job of keeping us supplied with gasoline and we should be praising them for that, no blaming them for the failure of President Obama and his predecessors to increase our energy supplies; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Twenty-Five Percent Off

Get a new president and we will take 25% off. That is twenty-five percent off the net worth of American households is what has happened in the past two years. Not the change most Americans hoped he would bring to us. President Obama told us that unemployment would be below 9% in a few months, yet it is still above that level after over two years.

The cost of an ounce of gold is now over $1,500, the highest ever. That means the value of the dollar as measure against the cost of gold is at its lowest point ever. That means our buying power is at a historic low, our savings are worth less and our wages don’t buy as much as they used to buy. We are paying near all time highs for many commodities now. Grains, corn, oil are all very expensive, and yet there seems to be no national strategy to deal with that issue.

Liberal policies keep farm land fallow. Water rights, radical environment regulations that place the “rights” of some bug, reptile or rodent over the rights of humans, and even fuel policies that transfer grains to use as fuel all conspire to keep food prices high. We don’t drill for oil in Alaska and off the coast which keeps oil supplies low and oil prices high. There is much we could do to fix these problems, but President Obama does not seem to be showing leadership in these areas; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Space Shuttle Program Ends

As a kid I watched shows and read articles that told us about the future they told us that by the year 2000 we would have flying cars, a space station, a space shuttle, a Moon base and that we would be well on our way to a base on Mars. Now under President Obama we are cutting the Space Shuttle program out of existence. We are taking a big step backwards, away from the future.

The only reason they cut the Space Shuttle is to save money. That decision was a foolish waste of a government program that actually worked well. The space program is a source of national pride and international prestige. It was also a huge capability to deploy civilian and more importantly military payloads that were very large. We are participating in the International Space Station and yet we have no real replacement for the Shuttle. We should not have stopped the Space Shuttle system until the Orion system had demonstrated that it will work reliably.

The conquest of space is a perfect task for government. Once it becomes routine then private companies and private individuals can take over the job. Certainly we should encourage private space programs, but we should not cancel the public sector space shuttle until there is a reliable, inexpensive and safe alternative that can be used frequently. Once again, President Obama has made the wrong change for America; abandoning our role as the leading nation in space; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

California Budget

While our Governor is trying to get back a few million dollars from government employees who were overpaid the state is still $13 billion dollars over budget. He wants to raise taxes to get that money rather than cut expenditures. The State Teachers Union is running advertising claiming that cutting the budget will hurt small business and damage the state. I think that high taxes and over regulation on small business hurt them more than cutting the state budget.

California has the highest taxes in the nation in most categories and in those where we are not the highest we are right up there with the highest taxed states. The only reasons this state does as well as it does is the geography, population density and climate. Good weather attracts a lot of people and a large population is a large market for goods and services. Being on the West Coast and on the border with Mexico places us in a perfect spot for international trade. That creates a lot of jobs and tax income.

Nearly everything else here is a detriment to business. Our crime rate is still high, our prisons are full and we are letting criminals go free, our taxes are high, our property values have fallen as much as 50% but are still high compared to most of the country. Our state has off shore oil, but won’t drill for it. We have safe nuclear power plants, but won’t build more despite a terrible shortage of electricity. Our traffic is awful and we are not building new roads, or high speed rail, airports or ports. We need to cut taxes and reduce regulations to allow our state’s economy to grow; that will solve many of our problems; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

No New Safety Laws

Recently CNN was slamming Congress because a year after the BP Gulf oil spill Congress did not pass any new laws relating to the safety of off shore oil drilling. There have been new regulations since then from government agencies. CNN says the reason Congress did not pass any new safety laws is that they were too busy passing the “Bush Tax Cuts” for the rich.

Not every crisis requires new laws. Some industries like the oil industry and the firearms industry are very heavily regulated. If something bad happens then new laws are often not the answer to prevent the problem from happening again. Sometimes bad things happen because existing laws were either not obeyed or not enforced. Passing more laws does not help if the laws we already have are not being enforced.

Sometimes we simply need to modify regulations, rather than pass new laws. The existing laws may be enough, but their interpretation or enforcement may need to be tightened up. Sometimes more police, or other regulators need to be put on the job, or their priorities need to be modified so they can enforce existing laws where lax enforcement of exiting laws many have contributed to the disaster. We already have tens of thousand of laws; we probably don’t need too many more; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

No Justice

Former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger commuted the sentence of a man convicted of stabbing a college student to death. The man convicted of the crime had is sentence cut in half. Governor Schwarzenegger said he did it because he is a friend of the family and wanted to help his friend. That’s a terrible reason to commute a sentence.

The man stabbed his victim to death. Stabbing is up close, personal and bloody. It requires a very determined attack to kill someone with an edged weapon. This was an awful crime, an evil act.

A governor or president should commute a sentence or issue a pardon only under limited circumstances. If the convicted person is later found to have been wrongly convicted, then it would be proper to pardon them. If the convicted person has done some great service to humanity that might atone for their crime and shows remorse for their illegal act, then a pardon might be in order. Simply doing a favor for a friend who has a son in trouble is not a proper use of the power to reduce a lawful sentence; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Gun Free For Honest Citizens

Virginia Tech was a gun free zone. To be a gun free zone, the school posts signs around the campus to inform those who would enter the school that the campus is a gun free zone. They have policies that people are prohibited from carrying guns on campus. They threaten to have people arrested if they violate the gun free zone.

Criminals who intend to rob, rape, or murder are not likely to be deterred by a little sign on the wall that says they can’t carry a gun in the gun free zone. The penalty for those crimes is always much greater than the penalty for a violation of the gun free zone. The value of a gun to the robber is very great, robbery is much easier if the robber has a gun and the victim is unarmed. One way to insure your victim is unarmed is to rob people in gun free zones.

Rape is a crime that is easy to commit if you are armed with a gun. Simply point the gun at the victim and demand what you want. The rapist will generally be able to accomplish their intent, since the victim on a gun free campus is going to be unarmed. Allowing good people to carry guns to protect themselves is the only easy, logical, simple and economic manner. Allowing concealed carry by good people empowers women and men to take charge of their own safety; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Delaware’s Legislature Voted for Civil Unions

Civil unions are unholy unions between two people of the same sex. They are meant to be a substitute for homosexuals to use rather than to be married. They were intended to keep homosexuals from getting married but to provide them with the same legal benefits of marriage. This is actually a false choice.

Civil unions are not an end in themselves. The moment a state approves civil unions for homosexuals the homosexual lobby immediately starts working towards homosexual marriage. The homosexuals will claim that the jump from civil union is a small one and therefore there is no real reason why homosexuals cannot get married. It means that the very legal tool that moderates give to homosexuals as a substitute for marriage becomes the lever they use to achieve homosexual marriage.

As a conservative I support the traditional Christian concept of marriage, one man married to one woman. That marriage should be for the life of the partners. While many of us fail to achieve these ideals we should not abandon those ideals. The passage of civil unions is just one step towards that abandonment that we should not take. Just as our society has permitted pre-marital sexual relations, marriage without blood tests, divorce without fault, sanctioned couples living together without being married to each other, children out of wedlock, and now civil unions; homosexual marriage is one of the consequences of walking down that path; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Retire When You Are Dead

Raise the retirement age to 70? At a time when we don’t have enough jobs now for our people we are going to keep people in the workplace for an additional 5 years? Why does that make sense? We need to do several things to save Social Security and none of them have to increase the retirement age. First, build the border fence and require local police to enforce immigration laws. That will eliminate workers that don’t belong here taking jobs from Americans.

Next we need to eliminate all government retirement and pension plans and put all local, state and federal employees, including the military on Social Security. If the big government unions can’t negotiate sweetheart deals for themselves they will be more interested in saving Social Security. The Social Security system should be like the gas company or the electric utilities. It should be a carefully regulated private industry. People and their employers should be required to deposit a certain amount in their retirement account that includes a disability insurance component. Those who don’t pay into the system don’t get benefits from the system.

The money paid into the system should belong to the employee and if the employee dies the money should got to their heirs. More secure, higher benefits, eliminate the power of public employee unions, and solve the Social Security problems forever; without raising the retirement age and without the government being able to rob the system; that’s real reform; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing

Joe Biden asleep and air traffic controllers are asleep on the job. Excellent examples of the quality of work being performed by our bloated federal government. In private industry if you get found sleeping on the job, generally you get fired. Often the first time. I work in the security industry and have fired plenty of people for sleeping on the job. I also have worked my share of swing shifts and graveyard shift and long hours and weekend. I have never fallen asleep at work.

Falling asleep at work is a form of theft; you are taking your wages and not doing any work for them. It is also immoral to be trusted with the lives of people and then go to sleep. It is the duty of air traffic controllers to insure the safe movement of aircraft. They can’t do that if they are asleep. The controllers who fall asleep should be fired.

The FAA immediately determined to have at least two controllers at these sites. Employees have trouble staying away so now we have to have two of them. These air traffic controllers make twice what the average person makes and yet they can’t even be depended on to stay awake. That’s terrible, it show how little dedication they have for their jobs. Perhaps the one’s who fall asleep can work together for half as much money. They could simply have a requirement that they call in every hour or have some kind of dead man switch. In the private economy we don’t double the work force just because some employees can’t stay awake; the government should not either; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

One In Every Six Americans Get Gov’t Money

Millions of Americans are being paid by their neighbors to do nothing. How can we continue to justify the transfer payments from working Americans to those who do not work? Welfare should be paid for by the states and administered by the counties. The cost of living varies tremendously from one part of the country to another. Administering welfare at the national level is a waste of money. It is too difficult to determine who needs the money and how much they should have from Washington.

Local control means that local agencies can more easily investigate who is on welfare and more readily determine their needs. The long term goal for most welfare should be to get people into the workplace. Give people thirty months of welfare and twenty-four months of training as a nurses aide. They can then enter the job force providing care for other welfare recipients who are in need of home health care.

People who get long term welfare benefits should be working for that money. They should be doing jobs that are difficult to fill and can serve their fellow welfare recipients. Teach welfare recipients to provide day care services. Some welfare recipients can provide day care so that others can perform jobs in the private sector. Some can be trained to do home maintenance and then they can cut the lawns, paint the walls and perform minor repairs to their low income housing projects. This type of training can be done in only a couple years, can make low income housing projects more self sufficient and can lead to good jobs in the private sector. It’s a win for everyone; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Your Taxes Are Too Low

President Obama says that the rich don’t pay enough taxes. The reason that the US does not have enough money to pay for our budget is that we spend too much and we have increased spending too quickly. They way to increase government spending is to borrow money for short term expenses and to grow the size of the economy for long term expenses.

The rich can buy things like homes, cars, yachts that are made, serviced and sold by middle class Americans or they can pay their money to taxes. Tax money does not produce goods and services, in most cases the money is simply paid by one person, goes to the government and the money is then paid to another. The money is not paid for services, just a transfer payment.

I support a flat tax system with few deductions. The rich don’t pay many taxes because they have accountants and lawyers to structure their income and expenses in such a way that they lawfully avoid them. The tax system should be designed primarily to raise money to finance the operation of the government. Tax loopholes, tax credits, tax exemptions, tax deductions are designed to encourage or discourage behavior. That’s generally not a legitimate function of the tax code. Eliminate deductions and lower tax rates; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

CNN Pushing Trump

A CNN poll shows that among Republicans, Donald Trump is a leader for the presidential nomination, with 19% of Republicans saying they prefer him as the nominee. That’s the same as Governor Huckabee. CNN has been running stories about Donald Trump for weeks now. Clearly, like John McCain, he is their choice for a Republican nominee. The main stream media likes candidates that are not conservative but that will be sure to create good news stories while losing to the Democrats.

John McCain was spoken of as a “Maverick.” A maverick was what the main stream media liked because it meant he was not a hard core conservative, but rather someone who was more likely to get into disputes with his own conservative base. As a Republican candidate you need to energize the conservative base or they won’t work for you. They will vote for the Republican, but without their money and get out the vote work, the Republican candidate will fail.

We all know Donald Trump from his television appearances. Most people think that as a rich businessman he will be able to run the office of the president and make our economy stronger. What is his position on national defense? What is his position on homosexual rights? What is his position on all the various social issues facing the United States today? I suspect that most people don’t know and I suspect he is more liberal than the average Republican. Donald Trump may be a good candidate for the main stream media, but he is a poor candidate for the Republican Party; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Silver Lining?

I was watching CNN recently and they had a story that higher gasoline prices have a silver lining. They said that higher taxes on gasoline mean more money for states with sales taxes on gasoline. That’s a benefit? The government gets to take even more of my money, putting off the massive reforms that need to happen at the state level because of an influx of cash due to high gasoline prices. That’s not a benefit.

They cited a study that showed a 10% reduction in overweight if there is a permanent one dollar per gallon increase in gas prices. They say that people will walk more and ride bikes more rather than drive their cars. That’s because they can’t afford the cost of fuel. Maybe we should just forbid fat people from owning or riding in cars altogether and solve that problem.

Maybe we should pay $50 per gallon and solve all our problems. The government will collect lots of taxes; everyone will get lots of exercise walking to work and to school. Or due to the devastation that high energy costs bring they can be walking to the unemployment office and welfare offices. Trying to claim that high gasoline prices is a good thing is like saying traffic collision deaths are good because it provides organ donors and that’s just wrong, that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Libya Tactics

The way to defeat and depose the Libyan dictatorship of Kaddafi is not difficult. Is real power is in his aircraft and his armored vehicles. The NATO and allied nations should base ground attack aircraft in Sicily. They should destroy every aircraft in Libya and every armored vehicle, particularly every tracked armored vehicle. They should be flying around the clock missions until the Rebels are able to take over the ground from Kaddafi.

The Rebels morale and momentum are better than those of Kaddafi’s forces. Kaddafi’s forces are only able to defeat the Rebels because of their greater firepower. It was a mistake for the Americans to pull back and let the other NATO nations fulfill the leadership role. There American A-10 aircraft is the best ground attack fighter in the world. We are the only ones who operate this aircraft and it is the best at attacking tanks on the ground.

In a few days, even a week the US, NATO and our other allies could destroy enough of the Kaddafi tanks, artillery and armored personnel carriers to tip the balance. NATO should also be providing the Rebels with anti-tank guided missiles and training on how to use them. That will allow the Rebels to destroy the few remaining armored vehicles used by Kaddafi. Anti-tank rockets are also of little value to terrorists if the fall into the wrong hands. Kaddafi needs be deposed, and go on trial; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Two Americans Killed in TJ

Reports have come out that say two American tourists were approached by drug cartel members to carry drugs across the border. The tourists refused that request. The tourists were waiting in line to get back into the USA and someone walked up to their pickup truck and shot them to death.

If you have used illegal drugs in the last year, then you bear some responsibility for these deaths. Illegal drugs purchased by American provide the financing and motivation for these drug cartels. The United States needs to be doing a much better job of controlling drug abuse by American citizens. Any movie or TV show that depicts drug abuse as fun, acceptable, should be rated as an adults only show. All of show business, movies, television, music, video games, books, and magazines need to review their policies and content to insure that they do not present drug abuse in a positive light.

Local police and prosecutors need to insure they are prosecuting all drug cases to the fullest extent of the law. Officer need more training so they can recognize drug offenses and detectives need more training to be able to break drug smuggling and selling rings. California and other states should be looking to increase penalties on drug offenses, eliminate the medical marijuana scam and put dealers in prison and seize all their assets. Rather than spend so much money on combating cigarette use, which is legal, California needs to spend more money making commercials against the use of illegal drugs. We need to get serious in the war on drugs to break the power of the drug cartels; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Trade Deficit

When American money goes to foreign nations to buy goods, services and commodities that’s money that is not going to pay American workers, pay American taxes or solve American problems. The trade deficit is a terrible problem but it seems to get very little attention from either the main stream media or the two major political parties. The worst part of the trade deficit is that the money has often been used against our own self interest by financing both terrorists and conventional military buildups of potential enemies.

Venezuela receives billions of dollars for its oil. They then use part of that money to oppress the opposition in their country and work to destabilize their neighbor Columbia. Saudi Arabia gets billions of dollars for its oil exported to the USA. They then fund radical Muslim schools all over the world that preach a brand of Islam that is opposed to Western and American values.

Communist China gets billions of dollars for just about every type of consumer good imaginable. They then use those billions of dollars to develop advanced weaponry and threaten our allies Japan and Taiwan as well as American naval power in the Far East. I support free and fair trade. Nations that sell us products, goods and services need to buy products, goods and services from us, or we should look elsewhere for our business; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Michael Vick Keys to City

The city of Dallas has given Michael Vick the keys to the city. What has happened to morality in this nation? Someone who has been convicted of terrible crimes should never be honored by any city by giving him the keys to the city. If Michael Vick had performed some tremendous service to the nation, and atoned for his past offenses, then perhaps he could return to public life. I don’t see any of that has happened.

Sports stars should be role models to our nation’s children. To my mind, that is even more important than their actual skill as sports players. Sports players have a moral obligation to society to live exemplary lives. Sports contracts used to have morals clauses to insure that sports players kept an image of being law abiding and moral.

Most major sports stadiums are built and often owned and operated by public funds. The Public has a right to expect that those who are using those facilities to be decent, law abiding persons. Those who can’t do that don’t deserve to be paid millions and be lauded by government. To whom much is given, much is expected; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Most Powerful Rocket

Space X has announced that they will be building and launching the most powerful civilian owned rockets in use today. This is great news. While I think that President Obama should not have cut the Space Shuttle program and that NASA needs to continue to perform manned space exploration, the true future of space is with private industry.

Private companies will perform valuable work in space. The mapping of the Earth has great uses for private individuals and companies. It is right that these jobs should be taken over by private companies too. There are also many manufacturing techniques that work well in space.

Private companies are already using space for tourism and for advertising. If the cost of getting a pound of goods to space can be reduced then more people can use space for more products. Searching for raw materials, searching for archeological sites, and monitoring the weather can all be done from space. So many new products and services that can come from space, if we can commercialize outer space, that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

US Ends Tech Restrictions

The United States has ended restrictions on exports to India. In the past the US was worried about nuclear proliferation and so we restricted high technology exports to India. Now that India has been a nuclear power for decades these restrictions were not working and were actually hurting American business.

India is a natural strategic partner for the United States. Their Hindu populations are natural enemies of radical Muslims. The Indian government has been fighting radical Islam since independence just after World War Two. They can provide the US with a great ally in the War Against Radical Islam.

Many of the people of India speak English and we have a common heritage as former English colonies. They are a democracy and have limited free markets. The US should work with India to free their markets to American trade; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Concrete Evidence

Operating aircraft carriers is very difficult. Landing a high performance aircraft on a very small surface is extremely hard skill to master. It is also difficult to conduct not only air traffic control but even controlling the aircraft and people on the deck of the aircraft carrier are a daunting task.

The United States Navy is the most highly skilled in the operation of aircraft carriers. We operate larger aircraft carriers and more of them than any other navy in the world. The aircraft carriers have permitted the US to project power all over the world in a timely manner.

Now the Communist Chinese are using the American dollars they get from selling consumer goods to the USA to build an aircraft carrier of their own. They are engaged in a massive arms build up financed by American consumers. There are few legitimate reasons for the Chinese to have an aircraft carrier. The can use an aircraft carrier to threaten the US, Japan and mostly Taiwan. Chinese aircraft carriers are a very good reason to buy American; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Obama & Bin Laden

Some on CNN are asking if President Obama will be swept into the White House for a second term because Osama Bin Laden was killed on his watch. While the death of Osama Bin Laden was a great victory for the United States but was it a great victory for President Obama? Osama Bin Laden was found in the border region between Afghanistan and Pakistan where everyone expected to find him. It took a long time to locate him because it is a difficult area to gather intelligence.

Al Qaeda is not destroyed as an organization but this is an important victory against them. It will not end the War Against Islamic Radical Terrorists, but it will make it more difficult for them to attack us and our allies. Just as President George Bush had no particular blame for the 9/11 attacks success, President Obama has no particular credit for the successful killing of Osama bin Ladin. The 9/11 attacks were in part the result of failures of the American intelligence community and the raid on bin Laden was a success of the American intelligence community. President Obama authorized the raid but beyond that there is little

We must remember there are still many problems this nation faces and the death of Osama bin Laden will not solve them. We need jobs for our people. We need housing construction; we need an industrial policy that will prevent good jobs, even essential jobs from going overseas. We need to solve our financial problems as well as our energy problems and this does nothing for that. The Republicans need to unite behind strong, conservative candidate who has good military credentials; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Ding Dong The Witch is Dead

United States Military Forces have killed Osama bin Laden. Over the years I prayed for his conversion to Christ so that he could repent of his sins and spend eternity in heaven where all of us belong. Since he did not convert and repent, I am glad that our forces killed him so he could do no more evil here on Earth. It is not good to rejoice too much over the death of any man, but we can rejoice that we have won a great victory over the evil he represented. We should rightfully rejoice that an enemy of Christ, of Western Civilization, of the United States of America is dead. We should not rejoice to greatly because we are all sinners before God and must stand before him in judgement some day. I am glad that the US Military was able to make that day happen for Osama bin Laden, I never doubted we would get him some day. There is still much to do in the war on terror. We may even see an upsurge in attacks in revenge for this victory. I hope this will lead to an unravelling of his terror network and we should be able to press the attack and bring more victories. I am glad that President Obama did not insist upon the capture of this evil man and I give him some measure of credit for the death of Osama bin Laden. The Western World owes a great deal of gratitude to the US Military for this great victory; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Day of Silence

I always thought that schools should be free from political influence. The curricula should be one that fosters belief in our democracy. The schools should not be getting involved in current political or social activism. There is so much that kids have to learn now that they don’t need the distraction of political and social events of today’s issues.

There is a group that is trying to make one day in April a day of silence. They want all students to avoid speaking for any reason on one day in school. This year they are looking at April 15th. They want the students to do this in solidarity with homosexual awareness. This is a terrible idea at so many levels.

Children should not be active political tools of any agenda. They certainly don’t need to be instructed in homosexual issues until at least high school, if at all. Many traditional parents don’t what homosexual values taught to their children and sexualizing then in elementary school is a bad idea no matter what the politics. This is just another example of the liberal politicians, activists, and media trying to bypass parents and trying to teach their degraded sexualized view of humanity on innocent children. Let the kids go to school without the politics and sexual agendas; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.
