Spying

The same nation that wants to sell cars in the United States is buying something from us. They are buying secret military information. Trade with Communist China is not working out well for us. I support free and fair trade with other nations but they can’t sell us refrigerators and then steal airplane technology from us too.

You can’t trust those who steal from you. Allies don’t need to steal from each other. I understand that nations may “spy” on each other to verify their intentions are peaceful and that they conform to privately stated assurances of friendship. I have no illusions the British and Israel probably spy on the United States. It is not appropriate for them to spy on us but is it unacceptable for anyone to steal our technology.

Those nations that steal from us should pay a heavy price in trade and trust. How can we perform joint military exercises with the Chinese if they are stealing our technology? How can we trade with them when they are looking for a special bonus of secret industrial processes and secret techniques? The Communist Chinese are building new missiles, stealth aircraft, and aircraft carriers and stealing our technology. Those are not the acts of a friend; that’s the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.
