War Protests Much of the anti-war movement was not simply anti-war, it was anti-President Bush and anti-Republican, and yes, anti-American. Democrats and other non-Republicans protested the war, in part, as a way to protest President Bush. They knew they could not get a big rally going to protest tax cuts, or other administration policies, so they protested the war, knowing they would get some traction. Democrats protested the war as a way to protest against Republican policies. Anything to make President Bush and the Republicans look bad. Stop this endless war was their cry. Now of course, they don't bother to mention it. The war needs to stop when our enemies are defeated and not one moment before that time. No matter how long it takes to acheive victory. Foreigners, and particularly radical Muslims, saw the anti-war movement as an additional front on the War on Terror and so supported the protests from an anti-American standpoint. This was especially true overseas. We heard all the time about the "Muslim street" and how the war makes us look bad. I don't care that we look bad to people how support those who want to kill us. Now that the Democrats are in power, most of those groups have gone home. Some think President Obama will end the wars, some don't want their own side to look bad because they disagree with President Obama on the war, but agree with him on other issues. When Republicans are in power we can could on the main stream media telling us that we are involved in unnecessary wars, that tax breaks are only for the rich, that there is a homeless crisis, and the president is stupid. When Democrats are in power the news media will tell us for years how the war is winding down, that tax increases are only for the rich, they will never mention homeless people and the president is intelligent, well spoken and a man of the people. My disagreement on the war is that we are not prosecuting it hard enough to bring victory. We need to vastly increase the size of the military and rather than micro-manage rules of engagement written by lawyers we need to press the enemy into defeat; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Hyperinflation When the government spends more money than it takes in, they have to borrow money to pay the bills. When that does not work, they print money. They have to increase interest rates so the money is paying enough to make it a good investment. To stimulate the economy, you have to cut interest rates so money is cheap and companies can invest and people can spend. The Federal government is spending so much money and they cannot tax enough to keep up. They also can't raise interest rates because the economy is so slow and unemployment so high they can't afford to cool the economy. The only way out for the Federal government is to drive the economy into hyperinflation. By inflating the economy the trillions of dollars in debt will be repaid with cheap dollars. The government will make all our money worthless and then use it to pay off their debts. Those of us who have savings will be wiped out. Those who have adjustable rate mortgages will have their payments skyrocket and many will lose their homes. All this with high unemployment to boot. People voted for Obama and they got Jimmy Carter. Look forward to stagflation; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

You Say You Want a Revolution? The Federal Bureau of Investigation has raided a Christian militia group that was planning on killing police officers. The group was basically a family of four and five of their friends. They were planning on killing a police officer and then setting off bombs at the police officers funeral to kill more police. They then wanted a stand off with police to set off a violent revolution against the Federal Government. They claim that Jesus wants us to be ready to defend ourselves by using the sword. This group is so wrong on so many levels. We have the right to vote in this country and as long as that is the case, we need to work hard for peaceful change. I agree the Federal Government needs to be changed, but we can do that with the ballot box. Rather than spend thousands of dollars on bombs, we should be donating money to conservative politicians who can win in November. Rather than spending our time on maneuvers in the woods, we should be walking precincts to get out the conservative vote. Small independent churches run the risk of creating their own incorrect interpretations of the Bible. Jesus says "...and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one." He does not say, and go out and kill police. Jesus gives the Christian the right to self-defense. That does not give the Christian the right to overthrow the government when there are peaceful ways to accomplish the same means. Being part of a larger Christian tradition can help avoid these types of Biblical errors, the traditions of the established churches teach that we are to obey the law; and that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Some Change is Good

Climate Change Killed Dinosaurs, German Scientist Says - AOL News When I was a kid, we were told that climate change killed the dinosaurs. The climate changed due to continental drift and over time the dinosaurs could not survive in the new environment and so they died off. Later, we were told that the environment was changed due to volcanic activity changing the atmosphere, perhaps making the Earth warmer and killing off the dinosaurs. Then we were told that a huge asteroid hit the Earth and the change suddenly wiped out the dinosaurs. Now we are being told that long term climate change has killed off the dinosaurs. Every few years, science proves that this or that or something else killed off the dinosaurs. Conservatives, as the name implies, like things to stay the same. Liberals tell us we have to embrace change. When it comes to the environment, suddenly the roles are reversed. Global warming is a terrible, scary thing and we have to stop it the liberals tell us. They don't want change, they don't understand that change is inevitable, and it does not have to be bad. Even conservatives know that; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

North Korean Attack? - South Korean Sailors Reportedly Die as Ship Sinks Near North Korea A South Korean navy ship has been sunk near the border with North Korea. At this time it is unclear if this was due to an attack by North Korea or some other reason. All the signs say that it is likely an attack by a North Korean ship. These days naval ships just don't blow up on their own very often. While America is distracted with President Obama trying to force his health care plans on the nation, the North Koreans are actually threatening the US and South Korean with attacks by nuclear weapons. Imagine that we are being threatened with attack by another nation, an attack using nuclear weapons, and the main stream media is giving us minute by minute updates on Sandra Bullocks marital problems. North Korea attacked South Korea without warning and without provocation in the early 1950's. They have never signed a peace treaty and have been working towards building nuclear weapons for years. Numerous previous American administrations have negotiated with North Korea, yet they still have been building and testing nuclear weapons and the missiles to carry them. North Korea is a very dangerous place and our media and our president need to watch out for them; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

In a recent broadcast CNN slammed the Obama Administration and Congress for their lack of openness on the Obamacare passage. No, CNN has not come to their senses. The liberal media is not just liberal. The liberal media is liberal and anti-establishment. That means that they hate George Bush for his policies and they hate him because he was president. That means they like President Obama for his policies and they hate him because he is president. The liberal media also hate being left out of anything. Note the substance of the critique was not that President Obama and the Congress passed a bad bill or that they have bad policies. They were complaining that they did not have access to the process for electronic media. CNN is not coming to their senses, they are just doing what they have always done, slamming the president, whoever he may be; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

The London-based International Maritime Bureau says Somali pirates captured 47 vessels last year and launched 217 attacks. More than 100 crew are still being held. A Somali pirate vessel attacks a Dutch warship. The Dutch fired "warning shots" a the pirates and then captured them. One of the pirates was killed. There is so much wrong with this situation. The Somali pirates are Muslim extremists, who are committing acts of terror on the high seas. The Dutch should not have fired warning shots. The Dutch should have sunk the pirate ship and then hung any captured pirates. The warning then is to the next group of pirates not to attack ships from Western nations. There are still at least one hundred crew members being held hostage by these Muslim extremists, that the main stream media wants to call "pirates." These are not just pirates, they are terrorists. They steal, torture, kill and interfere with the commerce of Western nations. The weakness shown by the West is only an invitation to further attack. Live in squalor in Somalia, or attack a Western ship. Make a fortune from theft, torture, kidnapping and extortion, or serve a short sentence in a Western jail. Better treatment then you get at home; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Protect Our Citizens An American citizen has entered North Korea and they intent to put him on trial. The most repressive and evil regime on the planet is planning to put an American on trial. A hundred years ago, this would not have happened. America was the friend of many nations, respected by many others and feared by the rest. These things did not happen then. President Obama should demand the North Koreans release their prisoner. The US should protect it's citizens from evil dictators. We have not been doing a good job of that in recent years. We need to get better at it. When illiterate Muslim extremists with a leaky boat can hijack a ship on the high seas and hold American cargoes, American ships and American citizens as prisoners it is time for the US to take swift action. Naturally, diplomacy should be the first resort, but we must be willing to take more definitive action security the safety of American lives and property; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Human Rights The California Human Rights Amendment will give legal protection to the most vulnerable citizens of California. The spot that should be the safest place in California is now one of the most dangerous. This law will make that place safe again. We must do this for the children. We must do this for the future of our state. This amendment will bring law into the 21st Century by finally catching up with what science and religion have told us for decades in the case of science and centuries in the case of religion. Human life begins at conception. Human life is valuable and worthy of legal protection. The most innocent among us are the unborn. How ironic in a state where serial murderers sit on death row for decades, the innocent, unborn babies are tossed out with the garbage. We must protect our children from the evil of abortion and pass this amendment; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Carbon Tax? A Republican is trying to suck up to the President for his own and his companies agenda. I don't like it. Republicans like him are the reason the Republicans lost the last presidential election. They were too liberal to provide a good solid conservative to run against Obama. McCain was a terrible candidate, and with guys like this running his campaign no wonder he lost. Now he is playing politics and saying he is in favor of a carbon tax? A tax to reduce American carbon emissions when the Chinese and Indians don't have to pay it? How about if we place that carbon tax on all goods and services imported into the US so our businesses would have a level playing field? No, Obama would not like that because it would not punish American companies. The whole global warming thing is bunk anyway. In recorded history it has gotten so cold the Thames River in London would freeze every winter. Now it does not. We are in a war period now. In recorded history it would get so warm that Greenland was actually green, hence the name. We are in a cold period. It's just pick and choose what you want to consider as normal; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Spending Our Childrens Money

House Passes Sweeping Health Care Overhaul -- Politics Daily The House of Representatives passed the Obamacare bill today. Despite millions of American in opposition to it, and no Republican support at all, they passed this massive health care bill. They have spent trillions of dollars that we don't have. One reason this bill passed is the anti-abortion Democrats got an assurance from President Obama that he would sign an executive order that would prohibit the Federal government health care funding from this bill from being used to pay for abortions. I doubt that will actually happen. If the bill is finally signed into law, and it could actually not make it, there could be significant changes to it by then. If I were one of the Congressmen who was in on this deal, I would want that language in the bill, not simply an executive order. President Obama may not even give the executive order. He may change the language of the executive order before he signs it. He may even rescind it all or in part over the next couple years. An executive order can be changed at any time by the president whenever he wants to change it. The pro-abortion child-murder lobby will immediately go to court to force money from this bill to be used to pay for abortions. They will argue that the sense of the Congress was to permit these monies to be used for abortions and that President Obama's executive order should be set aside. Some liberal judge will be found who will make this happen. It is a sad day for child rights in America; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

No Star Spangled Banner US Army troops providing relief efforts in Haiti have been ordered to not fly the American flag over their base. US Army troops who are helping people to dig out of the rubble, risking their own lives to help the people of Haiti have been told by our own President that they are not to fly the American flag. The people of the United States of American love our nation and our flag. When our troops are deployed overseas the flag is a proud symbol of America. America is typically the first nation to send relief to other nations that have faced disasters. Now Haitian government officials have asked that the American flag not fly over Haiti and the President of the United States has told our troops in the field that they are not to fly the flag over their base because it might offend someone in Haiti. Which would offend them more, see our flag fly over their airport or seeing the backs of our soldiers as we pack up and go home? The US is a great nation and we should not act as if we are doing something wrong or as if we are ashamed of our actions in Haiti. We are there to provide humanitarian relief, if they don't want our flag, then they should expect us to take it home and leave them to fend for themselves; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Pistol Packing Grandmama An eighty-two year old lady was shopping at Wal-Mart when she was attacked in the parking lot. The man threatened to murder her. She was able to fend him off with her cane and then draw a handgun from her purse and shoot at him. Only then did others come to her aid and the man ran off. If this woman did not have a gun, she very well could have been dead now. This loathsome person attacked a little old lady and threatened to kill her. Only because she lives in a state as freedom loving as Arizona that permits her to carry a gun is she alive to tell the tale and testify against this monster who attacked her. She could not wait for the police. A cell phone would not have saved her. The store employees did not know anything was wrong until she started shooting. Other states say that by giving concealed weapons permits to little old ladies would lead to disaster. This woman proved that it is self-reliance and the ability to care for one's own life and property that are important. Without that gun, she would in all probability be dead in the parking lot and a dangerous criminal would have escaped to prey on other innocents, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Border Fence For decades many of us have been trying to get the Federal Government to build a decent fence along the border with Mexico. Illegal immigration, drug smuggling, border violence are all terrible problems, made worse by the lack of a border fence. Rather than build a real fence, the Bush Administration determined that for large parts of the border they would build a virtual fence. Sensors and cameras to watch for border crossers and then Border Patrol would respond. I have never been in favor of a virtual fence. We need a real fence, and while a cameras and sensors are helpful, they don't replace a real fence. Now there are cost overruns and delays so the Obama Administration has stopped funding for the virtual fence. They want to start the process all over again. So we are already years behind, and now they want to start over. Years more delay before any kind of fence is build. Million more illegal aliens could cross the border. Many of us are concerned that the Obama Administration will grant an amnesty to the tens of millions of illegal aliens already here. By leaving the border open, this will allow thousands of potential Democratic voters into the country. Is there any surprise that they are delaying? Not here at the Hysterical Right Wing.

Nukes Yes! There is not enough security in American nuclear power plants. I have said for years that the USA needs more nuclear power generation capacity. I actually applauded President Obama for his call for more money for nuclear power. I also know that the anti-American anti-capitalist liberals will find any way they can to stop more nuclear power from being built in the US. There has not been a nuclear power plant completed in the USA in thirty years. The reason is not the money, the reason is the liberal who don't want new power plants. The location is unsafe. The design is faulty. There are too many people who live nearby. There is always an excuse. If President Obama really wanted to help free the US from foreign oil; if he really wanted us to generate clean nuclear energy, he would use his good offices to remove many of the unnecessary regulations that impede nuclear development. He could clear away the lawsuits that are filed for the sole purpose of tying up the power company lawyers. They only want to make the construction so expensive that it is not economically viable. Nuclear power is safe in Japan, in France, and many other nations, why not here? We need clean, safe, American nuclear power, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Coptic Christians

Egypt: Mob of muslims attack Coptic Christan community. Again The Religion of Peace, once again shows they are the religion of intolerance and hatred. When was the last time a mob of Christians attacked a Mosque? This is how Radical Muslims behave when they are in the majority. This is their view of toleration. Coptic Christians have been in Egypt for centuries. They exist in an Islamic nation where proselytizing is forbidden and where it is dangerous to be a Christian. Mostly they exist in the outskirts, in fringes, in monasteries far away from population centers. Were is the international outcry against this? One Muslim terrorist in Gitmo claims Islam is defamed because his Koran was touched by a woman guard and it is front page news for weeks. Muslim Radicals mob up and attack Christians and it is hardly mentioned. Not exactly fair and balanced reporting; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Monday, March 15, 2010

Traditional Christian values and conservative political principles are under attack in this nation and indeed the world. Hardly a day does not go by that we are told we must conform to either the religion of secular humanism or the religion of Radical Islam. America was founded by people who wanted a small government, based on Christian principles. They wanted citizens legislators who would go serve for a term or two and then leave government and return to work under the laws that they passed. These circumstances seem too very far away these days. So I write a blog so that in my small way I can speak out against the tyranny that is oppressing us here in America today. To cry out against the enemies of the West. If you like what you read here, become a follower and pass along a link to a like minded friend. If you have a blog, or a website, link back to me here and I will post a link to you too; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

How Many Noses? The census should count every person in the United States and use that information to redraw the Congressional districts. They should not estimate anyone, add or subtract anyone, make a guess, or use computer models to determine how many people there are. Illegal aliens should be be used in the count to determine the numbers used to redistrict. Illegal aliens are not legally entitled to vote, and don't qualify for most government services. The government should not collect racial information when they do the census. Companies are not allowed to hire or fire based on race. Redistricting is not done by race, so it is not relevant to the census. The census has become like too many government programs. It has grown vastly beyond the valid, legitimate purpose of counting people to make sure Congressional districts contain about the same number of people. The census should be done by bureaucrats, mindless functionaries, droning on with their duties of counting noses, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Taxes From a Stoner The Pentagon shooter turns out not to be a right wing nut case after all. Instead he is at best a Libertarian and at worst a left wing nut case. He is also a heavy user of marijuana. It seems he is the latest in a series of heavy marijuana smokers to shoot up a public venue. The image of marijuana smokers as harmless stoners may be seriously harmed if this trend continues. Too many politicians in California are looking to the illegal drug trade with greedy eyes. They are trying to tell use that marijuana use is harmless and no worse than alcohol. The politicians want to tax their way out of overspending. Rather than make the difficult choices they get paid to make, the State Legislature is looking at increasing tax revenues instead of making significant spending cuts. They know there is very little legitimate money left for them to take for law abiding taxpayers so the politicians are looking to create a whole new industry for them to tax. They think that by the few strokes of a pen the organized crime bosses who run the marijuana industry will suddenly become legitimate and rush to the Franchise Tax Board and State Board of Equalization to pay the massive taxes the government wants to levy on marijuana. If they think that's going to happen, then they must be high; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

No Guns for Six Year Olds

Fox News has reported that a six year old was suspended from school because he made his hand into the shape of a gun. They have zero tolerance for gun violence. He's six. It was his hand. They have zero tolerance for common sense and good judgement. Making your hand into the shape of a gun is what little boys do when they play army men, cops and robbers, cowboys and Indians and all sorts of adventure games when they don't have toys guns to play with. As a child I ran around all the time at public school playing army men, monsters, and all sorts of things with my school friends. We all grew up to be good, decent, hard working, patriotic Americans. Our imagination and our values insured that the good guys always won, and even if they got killed they died heroically, saving others with their sacrifice. A gun is a tool. Neither good nor evil. It it the values of the one who uses it that will turn the gun to good or ill. This school is teaching pacifism, stifling imagination and failing to teach the American values of responsible gun ownership; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Finger Loss, No Real Loss

Anna Ayala, Who Planted Finger in Wendy's Chili, Is Banned From Restaurant - AOL News Several years ago a woman put a finger in some restaurant food and then tried to sue the restaurant chain for negligence because there was a finger in the food. Thousands of people all over the food chain began searching for the cause of the finger in the food. Factories were shut down, peoples' lives were disrupted as the search went through all kinds of buildings, and stores. All because one women wanted to get rich quick. This is what happens when people are awarded huge claims for no real damages. Even if the incident was real, what actual damage would she have suffered? I found something bad in my food, don't charge me for the food and give me a coupon for another meal for every person in my party and give me a coupon for free food next time. Done. That's not how it works in our litigious society. Someone finds tainted food, they suffer no injury at all, and they suddenly determine that if they are given millions of dollars they will feel better. Lawsuits should be designed to make people whole after they suffer a loss. Money is seldom going to make everything better, and society suffers when people are given a huge windfall when they suffer no real loss; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Judicial Taxpayer Holdup

Judge reinstates ACORN funding ( After a whole raft of charges that ACORN was doing all sorts of things that were at least unethical, if not illegal, the Congress determined they would de-fund them. Rather than prove their innocence or accept their responsibility, they sued the Federal Government. Then a judge determined that he knows more than the Congress, and re-instated their funding. The Congress represents the will of the people. The people complained to their Congressmen and Congresswomen and demanded that ACORN be de-funded. The Congress actually did what the people wanted them to do for them. The judge determined that ACORN was entitled to other peoples money. Taxpayers money. The taxpayers have to pay for ACORN's activities, even when they don't want to pay for them. The taxpayers have to pay for ACORN even if they get their Congress to vote against funding. One judge sets himself above the Congress and above the people to take money away from the taxpayers and give it to people who don't deserve it; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

This has been going around the Internet for a while now: Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution: "Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States". Too many laws apply to us and not to our Senators and Representatives. In my opinion, all government employees should be on Social Security, not their own special retirement funds. There should be one Federal program for health care for all Federal employees. Senators, Federal Park Rangers, truck drivers, floor sweepers, if you work for the Federal Government you should get the same retirement and health care. It is wasteful, expensive and elitist to have different health and retirement programs for all the different agencies and different jobs. Elected members are supposed to be providing a public service, rather they have set themselves up to get rich with just one term. In a democracy, we should be represented by people who don't set themselves up higher than those they serve; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

African Disaster The practitioners of the Religion of Peace are converting Christians in Nigeria. They are bringing them the peace of the grave. Crowds of Radical Muslims are descending on villages and chopping the Christian inhabitants to death, men, women and little children. Naturally, our main stream media is bringing us all the latest news, from the Oscars. The deaths of a few hundred Christian Africans at the hands of Radical Muslims is not newsworthy enough to bother covering in any detail. Time and again, massive violence has wrecked African nations and the West has done little to intervene. Often, Western troops are sent in to stop the violence and then they simply stand around and do nothing. Too often the numbers of troops and their rules of engagement are so restricted that their presence is often useless. The Western nations need to have regional forces in place that can intervene when this kind of emergency happens, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

No Manned Space Program

"It is highly recommended that any human-rated launch system include a booster with ascent reliability at least as high as the Space Shuttle's and an abort system which, together with the booster, yield a predicted Loss of Crew (LOC) number of 1/1000. This number assumes a loss of one vehicle per 100 launches and a crew escape system providing a 90% probability of survivable crew escape." NASA JSC Memo: Commercial-Crew Vehicle Transition Concepts 1 March 2010 SpaceRef - Space News as it Happens I just read that NASA article about going private. This seems a pretty low standard of safety to me. One vehicle loss per 100 launches. How would that go with commercial airliners? One out of every 100 take offs results in a crash. Ouch. President Obama should not have scrapped the Space Shuttle, Moon or Mars missions. The government should do the cutting edge work and private industry should do the day to day operational stuff where there is money to be made doing it. President Obama should have said that in X number of years we will replace the Space Shuttles with new private craft to take our Astronauts into space. Then, when private companies have something ready, prove it works, then retire the Shuttles, or keep them in limited use for military and other high priority missions. The President is talking to his base, I don't think I have ever spoken to a liberal who was in favor of space exploration. They all think it is a huge chunk of money and that it should be spent here on Earth for social welfare. It is not unlike some conservatives who think that foreign aid is a waste of money and we should be spending it on the border patrol. Truth is, both NASA and foreign aid are such tiny fractions of the Federal budget that the GSA probably spends more on paper clips; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

I Am Not Fine With This A Federal Government agency is paying a fine because they mishandled some radioactive materials. They are paying the fine to another Federal Government agency. The next time you do something wrong, you should fine yourself. Take money out of your wallet and put it in your pants pocket. Now, you have been fined. Just like the government fines itself. One agency of the Federal Government fining another agency of the Federal Government is just stupid. The Congress determines the funding for Federal agencies and if they want money spent on a project, it should be spent on that project, not on fines to other government agencies. Taxpayers are footing the bill for all of it anyway, so the practical punishment is nil anyway. If someone in the agency did something wrong, then that individual should be charged with a crime and punished. In this case the person who did something wrong was not punished, the taxpayers were punished. The taxpayers money was taken to pay for another government agency. The government should not fine itself, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Don't Send In The Clones - Could Rebuilt DNA Lead to Cloned Neanderthals? There are scientists working on discovering the genome for Neanderthals. I fully support this type of research into the workings of biology. There are also some who would like to be able to clone a Neanderthal and raise it up as a person. I am unalterably opposed to the cloning of any hominid, no matter if it is a modern human being or a significantly more primitive version. Humans should not be cloned, ever, for any reason, whatsoever. Humans are made in the image of God and are unique among all the other animals. They have a dignity and rights that no other animal has been given. As a result, the only moral choice is that humans be brought into this world in a natural manner and raised by two loving parents, their father and mother. Humans should not be cloned to exist as a few cells for research. Humans should not be cloned to make body parts. Humans should not be cloned so that narcissistic people can have copies of themselves. Humans should not be cloned because childless couples want children. Humans should not be cloned to create science experiments in evolution. Humans should never be cloned, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Terrorists or Moms?

Bake Sales: Let Them Eat Junk! - ParentDish New York City is telling parents that if they have a bake sale, the traditional fare of brownies and cup cakes is not acceptable. They city is telling parents what they will be permitted to feed to their children. I agree that obesity is a serious problem. I agree that if you have a school district with hundreds of thousands of children, you will have some who have allergies to certain homemade products. I also believe that it is the parents job to teach their kids what they can eat and not the job of the City of New York. If my kid goes to school and they have a bake sale where my neighbors kid brings in a few cup cakes to sell, I don't see this as an opportunity for government intervention. What are they going to do, arrest the violators? Your natural bran cupcakes failed to provide enough fiber in them, you are going to jail. We don't need the government to micro-manage our lives to this extent. The victims of 9/11 would be happy to be able to see their children eat cupcakes from a bake sale at school. We are still in danger of terrorist attack and our large cities are still vulnerable. The City of New York has far too many problems to be wasting their time on issued like this; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

The Traditional Anglican Communion has been trying to achieve communion with the Roman Catholic Church. I think it is a good thing for as many Christian denominations to be in communion with one another as possible. In my opinion we should not give up our Anglican traditions and uniqueness to obtain that communion, however. Here in the Anglican Church in America our priests marry, even divorce, and so do our bishops. While I would hope that divorce should be very rare, it should, in extreme circumstances, be permitted to lay people and clergy alike. I understand that Rome has a different attitude towards divorce, but it even exists in the Bible as an option, but not a happy one. I hope that our bishops can develop a dialogue with Rome and that we can reach an understanding. This dialogue must not leave behind any of our clergy or our members; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing

No Murder A very evil man took his airplane and crashed it into an Internal Revenue Office is Texas. The American tax code has many problems. The people who administer that code do not deserve to be targets of violence. The tax code needs to be reformed, but it needs to be reform that comes from lawful lobbying, voting and legislation, not violence. The Federal Government is very large, and it can be very impersonal. Many of the domestic tasks done by our Federal Government should be done by the states or by private groups. Since our Federal Government is taking over more and more tasks, they need more and more money. They get that money from taxes. Our enemies are roundly condemned for their use of the suicide / murder attack. I think this is a terrible way to conduct irregular warfare, to kill innocent people intentionally. This man who used a plane to crash into a building, was intentionally killing innocent people, he was doing murder; thou shall do no murder; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Sex Offenders

Arrest Made in Case of Missing California Girl Chelsea King - AOL News Once again a registered sex offender has been arrested in the disappearance of a young girl. How terrible it is to think that this young woman may have been victimized by this convicted criminal. This is the type of thing to remember when we vote for our state legislature again. They are giving thousands of criminals early release because they don't want to spend the money on prisons. This is the type of thing to remember when you vote for judges who want to ignore our three strikes law and pretend the first or second strike should not be counted. Liberals will tell us that homosexuals can't be "cured" of being homosexual. They will say that it is normal and natural and just the that they were made. Then in the next sentence they will say that it is okay to release convicted sex offenders back into society because they have been to prison and paid for their crimes. They will say that with therapy they can be "cured" of their sexual orientation and will again be safe to live in our society with the rest of us. Both of these cannot be correct. When in doubt, it is best to err on the side of caution, keep sexual predators in prison for a long time and if they repeat their offenses, then the death penalty is appropriate; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Thomas Says Get a Gun

"The constitutions of most of our States assert, that all power is inherent in the people; that they may exercise it by themselves, in all cases to which they think themselves competent, (as in electing their functionaries executive and legislative, and deciding by a jury of themselves, in all judiciary cases in which any fact is involved,) or they may act by representatives, freely and equally chosen; that it is their right and duty to be at all times armed." --Thomas Jefferson, letter to John Cartwright, 1824 Thomas Jefferson said it is the right and the duty of the people to be armed at all times. Not some wild right wing radical. Not Sarah Palin, or Rush Limbaugh, or Glen Beck, but Thomas Jefferson. The liberals are quick to take the separation of church and state out of context from a private letter and use it as the basis to deny our Christian heritage. When it comes to the peoples right to keep and bear arms, suddenly they ignore Thomas Jefferson. The founding fathers intended that the people would be able to buy weapons, military style weapons, keep them in their homes and businesses and carry them in public. They knew the dangers of the world and wanted the people to be able to protect themselves. Only by being armed can law abiding citizens protect themselves from criminals who are armed. Police can't be everywhere, and they tend to be reactive; they show up when they are called, but usually they arrive well after the criminals are long gone. Most violent crime happens in only seconds, and so unless the victim himself can resist, the criminal will complete his crime. People have a right to protect themselves; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.
