Veto AB 962

On Friday Sept 11, California Assembly passed AB 962, 44-31 which would do the following: Ban all mail-order and Internet sales of handgun ammunition Prohibit the retail sale, the offer for sale, or the display of handgun ammunition in manner that allows the ammo to be accessible to a purchaser without the assistance of an employee. Require that the delivery or transfer of ownership of handgun ammunition occur in a face-to-face transaction, with the deliverer being provided evidence of identity of the purchaser. To establish identity, the seller must record the following information at time of sale: Right thumbprint of the purchaser, Date of the sale, Purchaser's driver's license number, Brand, type and amount of ammunition sold, Purchaser's signature, Name of the salesperson who processed the sale, Purchaser's full residential address and telephone number, Purchaser's date of birth. The bill is on the desk of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, where it awaits his consideration. He will have until Oct 11, 2009 to sign or veto the bill. If he does not veto the bill, it will become law. This is the type of feel good legislation that liberals love, but which does nothing to prevent or solve crime. Criminals don't present valid identification to buy guns and ammunition. Criminals don't even pick it up themselves most of the time. They get third parties to buy ammo for them, or they steal it. This is just another expense, inconvience, and tangled web of laws to restrict our right to keep and bear arms, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Monsters

'Gollum-like' monster emerges from lake Metro.co.uk People are always seeing monsters. Yeti in the Himalayas. Sasquatch in Oregon. Loch Ness monster in Scotland. Giant squid in the Pacific Ocean. Monsters everywhere. Over the years, many people have had encounters with these monsters, and usually they are peaceful. Sometimes a person will get a photo. Usually, they just have a story. The real monsters are often right out in the open. Obamacare is one of those monsters. It will be hugely expensive. The single most expensive new government program since Social Security. All to provide health care for about 20% of the population. Why should it cost so much? It would be cheaper to have the military train another few hundred thousand medical personnel and have them treat everyone. The other part of the monster is the death lurking under the guise of health care. Abortion on demand. Millions who will die in the name of health care. Euthanasia, a way to keep down the cost of health care. If grandmother is killed, then she will not cost the government any more money. Assisted suicide, if you have poor quality of life, then you die. Don't count on things getting better, just kill yourself and get it over with. Monsters, they are out there, and some are scary; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Nuclear Iran

http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/meast/09/27/iran.missile.test/index.html?eref=rss_topstories The West is concerned that Iran is developing nuclear weapons. They are test firing short range missiles that can hit US bases in Iraq. They are testing medium range missiles that can hit bases in Israel, maybe even in Italy or Germany. They have told us they have a second nuclear facility, and there are now rumors of many more. As a response to this international crisis, President Obama has immediately boarded Air Force One and flown to Europe to try and get them to allow the 2016 Olympic Games to be held in Chicago, Illinois. What? We have taken one step closer to nuclear attack on American and Allied forces and rather than stay home and deal with the situation, he goes looking for sporting events. Of course, it is foolish of me to complain. This president won't do anything about Iran gaining nuclear weapons. He will continue to negotiate and talk and chat until it is too late. Then he will say he did all they could do and we simply have to accept the new reality of a nuclear Iran. I hope those incinerated by Iranian nuclear weapons are as accepting; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Lies

http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/meast/09/27/iran.missile.test/index.html?eref=rss_topstories When they said Iran has only one nuclear facility and is doing nuclear research for peaceful purposes, what they meant to say was that Iran has only one open nuclear facility and a secret nuclear facility and is doing nuclear research for peaceful purposes. So if Iran is only doing peaceful nuclear research for peaceful purposes, why does Iran need a secret nuclear research facility that is not subject to international oversight? If Iran is only doing nuclear research for peaceful purposes why does Iran have to lie to the international community? If Iran lied when they told us that they only have one nuclear facility, how do we know they are not lying when they say they only have two nuclear research facilities? If they are lying about the number of facilities, then how do we know they are not lying about the nature of the research they are conducting? Lying to the international community about the number of nuclear research facilities that a a nation has in operation is hardly the best way to gain the confidence of the world. Of course, there will be no consequences to this admission, because the United Nations, Western Europe and recently the United States don't believe in consequences for outlaw nations; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Security For Islam

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEPod-hxD7g A small group of Christians go to an Islamist festival in Dearborn, Michigan. They ask people questions and try and film their answers. The festival is in a public place, on public property. Security guards are called who rough up the Christians and intimidate them until they leave the property. If an event is taking place on public property, the visitors should be able to go about their lawful business without harassment from security guards. The guards should not be able to bounce people around if those people are not doing anything wrong. I have worked both public and private law enforcement for most of my life and these guards are acting in a very unprofessional manner. Islam likes to bill itself as a religion of peace, yet the people depicted in this video were certainly not peaceful. The people in the booth were not acting in a peaceful manner. Part of being a Christian includes attempting to convince others to become Christians. The great commission as it is called. Christians don't force others to become Christians, but we should not be forced to stop talking, certainly not in America; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

I Am Offended

It is interesting how different companies try and market their products. About 85% of the people in the United States claim that they are Christian. In order to help cash in on this massive demographic, Sears is offering a Christmas Club on their website. Sears recognized the value of marketing to a demographic that is larger than women, larger than any race, larger than any other single demographic. The Gap, however, does not view Christians as a marketing opportunity. They see them as potentially offensive to the other 15% of the population. So The Gap stores will not be offering Christmas sales, or any advertising that mentions Christmas. Banana Republic and Old Navy are owned by the Gap and they are afraid, they don't want to offend anyone by mentioning Christmas. As a Christian, I am offended that The Gap and it's other stores don't want to mention Christmas in their advertising for fear of offending non-Christians. Too many companies are out there every day publishing advertising that is offensive to Christians. Advertising that offends our values and that actually mocks our beliefs as well. I doubt that I will be shopping at The Gap this year, but expect to see me at Sears; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Feelings Feel Good

Terror probe: Why is threat level still yellow? csmonitor.com People are concerned about the continuing use of the yellow elevated threat level. There have been several incidents recently that have caused concern that Radical Muslims may make a terrorist attack against the USA. Despite this, the threat level has stayed yellow. Now they are considering making the threat level blue. Adding a new level to try and make people feel more secure in the absence of a specific threat. Rather than keep the existing threat levels and raise the level when there is a threat, our government wants to lower the threat level, without actually doing anything to make us safer. This is typical liberal behavior. We can't fix the problem, so we simply redefine the problem. We can't make Americans safer, and take us down from the yellow threat level, so we simply redefine what it means to be "yellow" and give us a new level, define it the same as the present yellow level, and then move us to the new level. Then the government can take credit for making us all safer. Liberal like to do things that make us feel better, without changing the actual situation. Change to few greenhouse gas emissions, without any real evidence that global warming will be changed by it. Change the tests required for graduation from high school, rather than require that the kids learn more so they can pass the existing test. Lower the threat level by adding a new level, without making us safer. End the war by no longer calling it a war even if the enemy is still fighting. Results don't matter, except in the real world; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Hate Crimes

The 14th Amendment to the US Constitution guarantees equal protection under the law to all citizens. That means that everyone is protected under the law in the same way. In recent years this concept has been twisted and some people have been given more rights than others. Hate crimes are a good example of this concept. A man is beaten and robbed. The person who did that is a criminal and deserves to be punished. He should be punished for the robbery. He should be punished for the beating. The criminal should not be punished for his thoughts. While he may be motivated in part because of a hatred of a particular group, beating and robbery are bad crimes and the punishment for them should be enough. If we determine that there are significant numbers of crimes against any segment of our population then law enforcement must respond to that crime trend. If normal law enforcement techniques are insufficient to deter these crimes, then legislation to tighten the laws against these crimes should be passed that will benefit all potential victims, not just a few people in a particular group. Increase the fines or jail time for all robberies, for all beatings, not just those that apply to a small group. Every crime is a hate crime, because I hate crime; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Social Justice

Social Justice is another example of New Speak. The radical left has done this with so many words and phrases in the English language. "Gay" is no longer a word to mean happy and carefree. Given that the suicide rate for homosexuals is so high it is quite the oxymoron. Madonna is not the Mother of Christ, she behaves like a whore in print and video and song. We no longer wage a War on Terror, we work to prevent man made disasters. Now the Federal Government wants to take people without health insurance under their wing. They will do this without raising taxes, without cutting benefits to those who already have them and without rationing care. They can't pay for Medicare or Social Security without huge increases or benefits every few years and yet we are to believe this new plan will be different? Matthew 26:11 For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always. It is important that we care for the poor, but care should be voluntary, not mandatory. We don't need the government to steal our money and give it to the poor. The government is not Robin Hood. Forced charity is not charity; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Too Good For You

House Resolution 615 calls for all those in the Congress to take the same health care option for themselves and their families as they pass for the rest of us. I think this type of law is long overdue. The Congress passes all kinds of laws and then exempt themselves from those laws. They come up will all kinds of excuses, but the real reason is they know how bad these laws are and don't want to have to live with them. The first thing is Social Security. Why is it that Congress, school teachers, police, firemen, almost every government official, and the military are exempt from Social Security? Why don't these millions of people have to pay into Social Security and get the benefits from that system? They like to claim that their work is too hard or that only young people should be in the military or some other excuse. Many civilian, non-government jobs are difficult, or have only a limited number of years that most people can do them. In private industry that means people get paid a lot, or they only work the job for a few years and then go on to some other jobs. Government employees are not so special that they should get the pay, retirement and other benefits that vastly exceed what their private sector counterpart receive; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Pirates? Ha!

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/journalists/chris-irvine/ 8:05AM BST 06 Sep 2009 That ship, the Arctic Sea, that was taken by pirates in the English Channel may not actually have been a victim of pirates after all. The charge is that it was carrying weapons to Iran from Russia. The rumor is that the ship was taken by agents trying to prevent these weapons from reaching Iran. Why would Iran want to get secret weapons shipments from Russia and who would try and stop such a shipment? Iran wants to build nuclear weapons to threaten the US, Israel and Western and Central Europe. Russia wants to make money. Their weapons are good and they want to export them to help pay for other weapons projects as they try and rearm. Naturally, the US, particularly under President Obama did not stop the weapons shipments, and the Europeans are also unlikely to have taken such action as well. I suspect Israel is the nation that would have taken the ship and then disposed off or destroyed the weapons; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Henry & the Bible

My Rifle, My Bible and Me - Media Decoder Blog - NYTimes.com The Henry Repeating Arms Company is running advertisements that show people with both Henry Arms products and the Holy Bible. They also are touting the fact that their guns are made in America. Henry Repeating Arms Company 59 East 1st Street, Bayonne, NJ 07002 Telephone: 201-858-4400 Fax: 201-858-4435 http://www.henryrepeating.com/index.cfm I own a Henry rifle in .22 caliber and it has the smoothest action I have ever shot. It is a fantastic weapon and great to shoot. If you don't now own a Henry, then go buy one. I may even buy another one after seeing these advertisements; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Suicide

http://townhall.com/columnists/ThomasSowell/2009/09/01/suicide_of_the_west?page=full&comments=true Thomas Sowell has been writing about the suicide of the West. He is correct. We are not being destroyed by enemies from without. No Islamic armies are sweeping into America from the Canadian north. No Muslim armies are rolling over our southern border with Mexico. No Radical Muslim marines are landing on our beaches. Yet, every day our Radical Islamic enemies are winning victories. Every day we retreat from the victory that should be ours. President Obama just gave up missile defense for the Czech Republic and Poland. There was a time in the distant past when the Poles sent soldiers south and they saved Europe from Islamic domination. Now the Poles are being left vulnerable to attack by missiles fired from Iran. In the US we don't even like to pretend we are fighting a war any longer. Our unions press companies for Islamic holidays. Our President has Muslims visit him in the White House and bows to an Islamic King. Our media makes movies about terrorists but they always seem to be Nazis, or Christians, or anything but radical Muslims. We are committing suicide; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Missile Defense

Obama Scrapping Missile Shield for Czech, Poland In his September 11, 2009 address President Obama said: “Let us renew our commitment to all those who serve in our defense -- our courageous men and women in uniform and their families and all those who protect us here at home. Mindful that the work of protecting America is never finished, we will do everything in our power to keep America safe.” Then a couple days later he scrapped missile defense for Czech Republic and Poland. Our rivals in Russia and our enemies in Iran have been complaining about this missile defense system for years. You only complain about a missile defense system if you plan a missile offense. You only give up something to get something. One of the first rules of diplomacy and negotiations. President Obama has given up a huge symbol of solidarity with Poland and the Czech Republic, for nothing. He has given up something that the Iranians hated, for nothing. President Obama: "We will do everything in our power to keep America safe." Neville Chamberlain: "I believe it is peace in our time." Two men who both betrayed the Czech people; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

President Obama

http://badfiction.typepad.com/badfiction/2009/09/numbskulls-in-the-mist-birther-update.html While I did not vote for President Obama, and I think he is a terrible president, I don't think we should oversell what is going on in our nation. I think it is possible that he may not be legally qualified to be President of the United States, but at this time I think there is an absence of proof. I am pleased that this is working it's way through the courts, but we must be patient. We must believe in the system and the rule of law. When things go our way we agree with the system, and now that elections have not gone our way, we still must follow the law and work within the system. I think that President Obama should release the long form of his birth certificate. I also think that we need to put laws in place now, state by state, so that all future presidential candidates must release a long form birth certificate to get on the ballot. In the meantime, President Obama is still our President; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Freedom

http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/world/la-fg-brazil-arms8-2009sep08,0,5843260.story Brazil is buying fighter planes from France. Columbia is signing deals with the United States. Venezuela is building an arms factory for AK-47s, and hosting Russian naval visits. There is a massive new arms race going on in South and Central America as new socialist regimes oppress their own people and perhaps prepare to invade their neighbors. The Obama Administration has at best been ignoring these moves and at worst they are actively encouraging those who should be our enemies. The socialist nations are taking away the freedoms of their people. Seldom are they content with that, and so I anticipate at least border wars, if not guerrilla wars to erupt in the next few years. In the days of the Reagan Administration, the US aided freedom fighters and toppled regimes that were oppressing their people. The best thing to do is lobby and work for freedom. All people long to be free. Socialism, Communism and radical Islam are all oppressors and the US needs to continue the fight against them; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Bibles Make You Sick

http://travel.aol.com/travel-ideas/cruises/articles/ten-things-never-to-do-on-a-cruise?ncid=AOLCOMMtravdynlprim0593&icid=mainhtmlws-maindl4link3http%3A%2F%2Ftravel.aol.com%2Ftravel-ideas%2Fcruises%2Farticles%2Ften-things-never-to-do-on-a-cruise%3Fncid%3DAOLCOMMtravdynlprim0593 AOL ran an article where they told people to never touch the Bible on a cruise ship. They say that some cruise line found virus on Bibles and had to remove them from the ship to safeguard the passengers. I suspect that none of the passengers actually got sick from touching the Bible. I suspect that the number of people who get sick every year from touching books of any kind is astonishingly low. The cruise ship had viruses in many places, simply avoiding Bibles would not likely have saved anyone. As usual, the main stream media never misses an excuse to to warn people about the dangers of the Holy Bible. I am not surprised by this because there is no thing that is new under the sun, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Gun Rights

I wrote a letter to Senator Dianne Feinstein to press for national conceal carry laws and this is part of her reply: "It is my belief that concealed weapons laws that may work in rural states are not suitable in urban areas. What is good for Alaska or Wyoming may not be good for California or New York. As a former Mayor of San Francisco, I have had direct experience with the consequences of gun violence. I have been present at homicide crime scenes." I too have had direct experience with the consequences of gun violence. I have spent my entire life in public and private law enforcement and the US military. I have been to murder scenes. I have had people shoot at me, and I have know many people who have defended their lives with the use of a firearm. I think that the innocent law abiding people who live in urban areas deserve the same right of self defense as those who live in rural Alaska or Wyoming. It is all well and good for people like Senator Feinstien who have all kinds of police protection to proclaim that the rest of us don't deserve guns to protect ourselves. Most states now allow concealed carry, and big cities like those in Texas have managed to allow people their rights and not have some terrible bloodbath; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Why Stay Here?

When my daughter graduates from college I hope she will leave California and move to Texas or some other part of Free America. California has gotten so bad that the population is actually decreasing. If it were not for the continued influx of illegal aliens the population would probably be a lot smaller. There are many days when I ask myself why I stay here, and it seems to get more difficult to convince myself that I should stay. I was born and raised in Long Beach, California and I still live less than twenty miles from there. California seems to be so liberal and has so many problems I sometimes feel like I can hardly stand it anymore. Our taxes are now the highest of any state in the nation. Our sales tax approaches ten percent. Our income tax and property taxes are very high too. I live in the same house I lived in for the last twenty years and I worry that if my property taxes were to go up because of Proposition 13 being overturned, that I could not afford to live here anymore. Proposition 13 was passed several decades ago and said your home would not be reassesed for property tax purposes until you sold it or at a rate of greater than 2% per year. So property taxes have remained low for those who don't move often. Even now with property values down about 25% my home is worth four times what I paid for it. Our gun laws are so restrictive, they have made many firearms illegal and the firearms laws are so complex even most police officers have no idea what is legal and what is not legal. But ignorance of the law is no excuse. As a cop I have the legal right to carry a concealed firearm, but that right is denied nearly everyone else in the state. Background checks, fees, waiting periods, and other restrictions on firearms have just about killed the firearms industry here. There are very few gunshops left. I have a pretty good job, a church I like and have gone to for 17 years, a number of good friends and relatives close by that I want to spend time with. My house morgage payment is very low and I am very familar with the area. At 53 years old I figure I got about another 30 years here and then it won't matter much to me what happens. I know if I were 23 again, I would not live here; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

White House Communist Party

http://www.newswithviews.com/baldwin/baldwin532.htm On September 20, 2009 news reports say that President Obama will permit the Red Chinese flag to fly over the White House while they celebrate the founding of Red China 60 years ago. The founding of the most murderous regime in the history of mankind. The nation that fought the United States and United Nations in the Korean War in the early 1950's. The nation that helped supply the North Vietnamese in their war against the United States and South Viet Nam in the 1960's and 1970's. Now, President Obama wants to allow them to fly their flag over our White House and have a party. The Red Chinese are the ones who enable the North Koreans to continue to exist as a nation. Without their help North Korea would have collapsed years ago. The same North Korea that threatened nuclear war with the United States and to launch nuclear weapons against Los Angeles. Communist China recently threatened the United States to stop reconnaissance missions to observe their military actions. Soon after they threaten us, we allow them to use the White House for a party. President Obama should not permit the Communist Peoples Republic of China to use the White House for a party; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Golden State Gun Laws

http://www.nraila.org/Legislation/Read.aspx?ID=5122 In California the local chief of police or the county sheriff can issue a concealed weapons permit. In most cities and counties, you must be politically connected or a government official to get a permit. Why is it that our law enforcement officials are failing to protect the public by issuing them concealed weapons permits? In other states, almost any law abiding person can get a concealed weapons permit. People with those permits generally commit few crimes and almost never commit gun crimes. Criminal fear citizens with guns, and I think it is a good thing for criminals to fear regular citizens, rather than the other way around. California should change it's laws to require the issuance of concealed weapons permits to those who have the legal right to own guns and take a gun safety class. It is a right of the people to keep and bear arms. There is no reason to own guns, only to have to keep them locked up in safes. Guns locked up in safes don't stop rape and murder; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

WWF Ad

The Point: 9/11 WWF Ad Controversy A liberal animal rights group asks for an advertisement and a foreign company writes a highly offensive advertisement showing a group of planes flying into the World Trade Center. As usual, the lives of innocent Americans are denigrated and not honored. As we approach 9/11 the anniversary we should be honoring those who served their fellow man on the day of that attack. The radical Muslims who attacked the United States on that day are some of the most recent in a centuries old war that has been raging between radical Islam and Christendom. Islam has been spread by the sword for centuries. Only when the Christian nations of the world have banded together to defend themselves have we been able to beat back the Islamic armies. Today we are faced with Iran on the verge of developing nuclear weapons. Al Queda is trying to steal nuclear weapons from Pakistan. North Korea has nuclear weapons and is willing to sell technology to anyone with money and Middle Eastern nations and groups have the money. We need to continue to fight the war against radical Islam and not allow ourselves to fall back asleep; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Keep Them Locked Up

FOXNews.com - British Court Convicts 3 in Plot to Blow Up Trans-Atlantic Flights - International News News of the World M. As British Courts are pulling them in the front door of the jail, Scottish courts are letting them out the back door. This shows the folly of fighting the war on terror as a police problem. The British failed to get convictions on several of those who were said to be involved in the plot to blow up airliners. This shows the wisdom of the Bush Administration in fighting this as a war, not a police activity. The suspected terrorists are rounded up and placed in prisons without legal recourse. It keeps us safe and holds them in custody for as long as the war lasts. The citizens of the US and it's Allies are kept safe. That is the mandate of the US President and US Military, keep the American people safe. Too many liberals forget that. The War on Islamic Terror must be fought as a war. The Obama Administration is doing the nation a disservice when they speak not of terrorist attacks, but of man made disasters. They are doing the nation a disservice when the try and use law enforcement to achieve goals best left to the military. What radical Islam is doing to the West is not simply criminal, it is war; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Radical Establishment

CA Political News show President Obama has surrounded himself with radicals, and communists. Then he acts surprised when Americans say they don't trust him. These are the very people who in our lifetimes were trying to destroy our nation. People who were working to defeat the United States in the Viet Nam War and the Cold War against the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. I do not trust President Obama or his aids to do the right thing. I disagree with his politics. When he says he is going to make a live speech directly to our school children I worry about what he will say to them. Why can't he tape the speech and then allow teachers and parents to hear or read the transcript of those remarks before hand? Then if he is going to say something we don't want our children to hear, we can opt out. The President of the United States should be able to make a speech to our children, live, and we should have the confidence that he will give a generic stay in school, obey your parents, study hard, listen to your teachers, do your homework message. The fact that so many American are worried that he won't say that is very troubling in may ways. In the past the radical outsiders were espousing values to the establishment that were outside the mainstream. Now, mainstream values seem to be outside the establishment. That's troubling here at the Hysterical Right Wing.

Prison Time

If a law is passed to make it safer for us, but after years of experience the law has not made us any safer, should be repeal that law? In California we used to be able to buy a fully automatic sub-machine gun in the mail, without a background check and without a waiting period. We could load the gun, and drive around with it concealed in our car and not have to have a permit to do that. Are we safer now then when those laws were passed 70 years ago? Is there more criminal acts now that all that is illegal? Why bother to keep these laws on the books and continue to enforce them if they are not making us safer? Laws are written to change behavior. To get someone to do something, like wear their seat belts, or stop people from doing something like committing a robbery. If the laws don't change behavior, then why keep them on the books? We pass laws that make it a crime to commit robbery. In California, that can mean five years in state prison, yet, people commit robbery every day. Why doesn't this law work to stop robberies? Maybe not enough robbers get caught and convicted. Perhaps five years is not enough time in prison to deter robbers. Maybe every year we add a year to the penalty until we find how many years in prison is enough; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Big Trucks and Big Guns

St. Louis-area dealer thinks Hummers and firearms go together like Smith & Wesson — Autoblog Big cars and big guns. I love it. Americans like to live large and we like big vehicles and big guns. The coupling of a firearms dealership and a Hummer dealership is a natural symbiotic relationship. I would not mind an electric car, if it could go 100 miles per hour, zero to sixty in less than eight seconds and seat six adults comfortably when it does it. Americans should not have to give up freedom or comfort to move into the new century. We need innovation, not regulation. Give up the idea the government will regulate us into prosperity and comfort. Government will take away more than it gives us and those who can make our lives better will be penalized for it. Cut government spending, cut taxes, cut regulation, I think we could probably eliminate at least half of our laws and still be just fine. Ignorance of the law is no excuse, then they give us a tax code that is tens of thousands of pages long and even those the President appoints to high ranking government positions are accused of violating it, the thing is so complex. Give us a Federal Flat Tax of 10%, no deductions and no other Federal taxes and live on what comes in; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Stay Strong

http://www.boston.com/news/world/asia/articles/2009/08/27/end_military_surveillance_missions_china_tells_us/?rss_id=Boston.com+--+Latest+news The US military performs surveillance on Communist China. We have done that for decades. Now, Communist China is telling the US to stop these missions. The US military was radically downsized at the end of the Cold War. The US Navy is less than half the size it used to be under President Reagan. Now the Communist Chinese think that with a socialist US President that they can tell us what to do in the Eastern Pacific. We have failed to ramp up the size of the US military in response to the War on Islamist Terrorists. We have failed to respond to continued threats from Russia and China. Now the Chinese think they are strong enough to start telling the US to stop surveillance we have done for fifty years. The United States never got into a war because our enemies thought we were too strong. We have gotten into wars because our enemies thought we were weak. A Russian has just announced that he thinks the US will implode sometime in the next year. The Communist Chinese are building a blue water navy. The North Koreans are building nuclear ballistic missiles. The world is still a dangerous place, and we need to stay strong; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Guns and Crimes

http://www.austinweeklynews.com/main.asp?SectionID=1&SubSectionID=1&ArticleID=2386&TM=82835.64 Chicago has a ban on handguns. Unless you owned the gun 30 years ago and continue to register it every year, you cannot legally own a gun in Chicago. Chicago is called by some the murder capital of the nation. How is it that you can't own a gun, yet people still get murdered? Could it be that making guns illegal has little or no effect on murder rates? Could it be even worse, that making guns illegal actually increases the murder rate? If you are a law abiding person and guns are made illegal, then you won't own a gun. If you are a criminal and you want a gun to facilitate your criminal lifestyle you won't mind breaking the law, because as a criminal, that's what you do. If you are a criminal in a city where you know no one who is a law abiding citizen, then you know that you have everyone at your mercy if you get a gun. So as a criminal, you will get a gun and you go on a crime spree. As a criminal you know the cops won't shoot you unless you threaten them. So you only threaten honest folks. As honest folks, you don't have a weapon to defend yourself, your wife, or your children; you are at the mercy of the armed criminal; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Terrorists & Kangaroos

(http://www.spiegel.de/international/germany/0,1518,644818,00.html) A kangaroo is on the run in Germany. Kangaroos don't live in Germany except in zoos and in private collections. Yet, recently there was a wild one spotted bouncing in the countryside. One kangaroo sighing you might put down to premature Octoberfest, but then more sightings were reported and soon it was clear there really was a kangaroo on the bounce in Germany. This just shows how difficult it is to contain or capture an animal that is obviously in the wrong place. A kangaroo is pretty easy to spot as animals go, it is not something you can mistake for a cow, or an eagle or snake. Animals that don't belong don't know how to hide properly or survive normally in the wild. The Western World has been trying to find Osama Bin Ladin for years. We can't seem to locate him. We search for him, offer rewards, and hunt for him relentlessly. Just like that missing kangaroo we are having a hard time finding him. Hunting for people is harder than hunting for kangaroos; but in this case, more important; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Censorship of Conservatives

http://www.politicsdaily.com/2009/08/28/abc-and-nbc-refuse-to-run-ad-critical-of-obama-health-care/... The main stream media which talk all the time about freedom of expression, don't really believe it. They actually push a liberal agenda but try to disguise that most of the time. When the time comes to show they are willing to show both sides, they don't. Groups have tried to run advertisements that are pro-firearms freedom or critical of ObamaCare don't make it to the small screen. The main stream media are so opposed to conservative values that they won't even show advertisements for those values. Companies that have a license to broadcast should be required to show political advertising without regard to their political position. It certainly show how liberal the networks are. It also puts the lie to their mantra that we need a fairness doctrine. If we did we would have to cut their programming in half and broadcast conservative shows; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.
