No Organization

In the past organizations had a commander, lieutenants, and an organization chart. In the new world order of terrorism organizations don't follow the traditional concept of an organization. They are flat. There is no leader. There is no followers. There are no assigned roles. There are role models. They call for attacks. They do so publicly, using the Internet, television news releases, and other mass media. They say to strike out against America or Britain or some other target. Then people who are sympathetic to the goals of the role models act alone or call up a couple friends or relatives. They determine a target and conduct the attack alone. In this way the capture of a terrorist does not lead to the unravelling of a massive terrorist conspiracy. It does not flow up to the head of the terrorist organization because there is no organization. This type of terrorist is difficult to stop because they are individuals or a couple people acting in concert in response to information that is available to everyone. This means that law enforcement and counterespionage organizations need to work together to keep us safe. This is a difficult type of warfare to stop; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.
