Priest and Girlfriend

A popular Roman Catholic priest has quit the church and become an Episcopalian priest. His photo was taken with his girlfriend and he determined it was time to make a move. If you don't want to be a Roman Catholic priest any longer, should you go out with a girlfriend for weeks or even months or years before you make up your mind? Why not resign from the priesthood and move on before you create a scandal?
In this case the man gets a girlfriend is seen in public with her and leaves the church afterwards. He was a very public figure and this only hurts the church. He will go on to be a popular Episcopalian priest where the standards are low and priests can do whatever they please without much fear of scandal.
When you belong to an organization, you need to consider that the things you do may effect more than just yourself. They will effect the organization if your actions are public. It is very selfish to harm a group, then just leave them in the dust when the scandal breaks. There are many options to serve God, but when you give an oath, you need to keep it, or at least rescind it before you bring problems to your organization, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Most of the "child" sex scandals involved incidents that happened as much as twenty or thirty years ago. Most of the "children" were 16, 17 year old males having consensual sex with priests. All of that was wrong, but most of it was not child molestation.
The Roman Catholic Church does allow nations and individuals to act in self defense, as nearly all religions do.
There is no such thing as consentual sex as regards an Adult and a child=WAKE UP.In Italy theres a priest undergoing a trial for all his sex stuff with kids.Now theyve grown up they have the logic to come out with what happened kids don't-you suprise me if you are a Cop.
At least in California, and most other states, the law does distinguish between "children" of different ages. Sex between adults and childern under 12 years old is nearly always considered criminal and prosecuted. Sex between adults and those over that age may or may not be prosecuted. Sex between those who are 16, 17 years old and adults is seldom prosecuted. In many states girls that age can even marry, and frequently major crimes committed by persons 16 or 17 will be tried as adults. So know the law, and how it is applied.
I my view, and that of the church, homosexual sex acts are wrong as are sex acts between adults and children and sex acts between any two people who are not married.

Marraige is one thing sex acts between Majors and minors another.Anyone who seduces, messes with , or bothers a minor, however old they are is a Scumbag in my book.The Catholic Church is not just in the States as well. If you rarely prosecute a sex act between adult and minor you have seriously messed up laws brother!
As I wrote before, the Roman Catholic Church and I both condemn sex acts between adults and children and sex acts between people who are not married to each other.
If someone is like 19 and has sex with someone 15 then hes a ped in the UK.
Peopl who are not martried and have sex together are not as bad as people who get divorced
Our laws consider it statutory rape, but it is rarely prosecuted unless there is force.

God said protect those who cannot protect themselves. Tell that to fellow cops. Read your Bible more its refreshing.You'll become an even better cop than you are. If you do right then God walks with you.And do what the law requires not more.
I agree it should be prosecuted for anyone over 18 to have sex with anyone under 18 years of age.
Divorcees should be prosecuted as well.They are scumbags.They ruin families and Gods union.
Make sure you only give unto Caesar that which he asks.That means never overstepping the law. The law exists to represent God's will.
