God vs IRS

IRS backs pastors' political activities ( When liberals like The Reverend Jesse Jackson speak on the social issues of the day, he is lauded by the liberals as an enlightened and progressive spokesman on these issues. When a conservative Roman Catholic Church official speaks out on a social issue, suddenly it is a serious problem and it is a violation of the separation of church and state and a good reason for the Internal Revenue Service to revoke their tax exempt status. Recently, a group of liberals complained that some conservative Christian pastors were meeting an discussing political issues. They wanted the IRS to investigate and revoke the tax exempt status of the Christian churches. Amazingly, the churches won their argument. The liberals have blurred the line between the political and religious by constantly taking social issues to the courts, and into politics. The Church has often spoken out on matters that relate to their views on social issues. Suddenly when a church does it, too many liberals see this as a problem. They simply want to use the force of government to silence opposition to their immoral agenda; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

North Korea Missiles The North Koreans continue to fire missiles after they are warned by just about everyone that they need to stop. The US says they won't send more troops to the area. That's nice, the US is not going to send more troops, or ships, or planes. That way if the North Koreans attack, we won't have enough troops, or ships, or planes to actually defeat them. The Army has said it would take 90 days to deploy more troops to Korea. I would think this would be a good time to test that claim. The Obama administration is so afraid that they will have a third war on their hands that they will continue to sit aside and do nothing to defend South Korea and our troops there. Does the Obama administration want Japan to start building nuclear weapons? That is certainly not an unreasonable response from the Japanese if the US is not going to step up and stop North Korea. I suspect the Obama administration is simply waiting for an opportunity to bribe North Korea with billions of dollars in American aid for a promise that they will stop making nuclear weapons. Naturally we will have to ship all the aid to them first as a gesture of good faith and good will. There will not have to be any inspections or penalties if the North Koreans fail to keep up their end. Maybe President Obama can send them General Motors? That's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

No Gay Gene

APA revises 'gay gene' theory ( American Psychological Association a few years ago was pushing the homosexual agenda by claiming that there was a mysterious "homosexual gene" that caused people to be born as homosexual. After years of further research, this mysterious gene was never discovered and they have had to admit that it does not exist. Naturally, when the so called "gay gene" was "discovered" the media was all over it telling everyone there was a gay gene. So many people who are on the fence about gay issues were more inclined to be pro-gay, since science "proved" that gays had no choice in being gay or not. Now that the APA has said there is no gay gene, the media are ignoring the findings. As usual the main stream media will ignore facts that don't fit their liberal agenda. So they spend all their time telling us about how homosexual activists will try and fight Proposition 8, the California initiative that stated marriage is between a man and a woman. Since homosexual lifestyles are a choice, there is no need to grant homosexuals special rights; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Kindergarteners & Homosexuals

Parents fight homosexual indoctrination of kindergarteners ( Schools want to indoctrinate children into the homosexual lifestyle. The homosexual lobby wants homosexual behavior to be considered totally normal, not unusual, as average and acceptable as a heterosexual lifestyle. They don't want legal differences, societal differences, religious differences between homosexuals and heterosexuals. These radicals are trying to push their agenda on every aspect of society, including on our children. Little kids don't know or care about homosexual lifestyles. The only reason the homosexual lobby is pushing this course of study is to train children before they know anything about sex, that homosexuality is perfectly normal and fully as acceptable as heterosexual lifestyles. Science has not found a "gay" gene, in fact, there is evidence there isn't one. Since the homosexual lobby is losing on the science, they are trying to win by stealing the minds of our children. Same sex marriage was voted down by the people. The California state supreme court upheld that law. Even in a liberal state the people don't want the gay agenda. Despite this the homosexuals continue to press for their immoral lifestyles to become law, to be taught in schools and to be accepted by everyone; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Chemotherapy, Yes or No?

Boy Chemotherapy - AOL Health A boy has cancer and his parents belong to a religious sect that says they should not use modern medicine. Without chemotherapy, the boy will almost certainly die of cancer, with chemotherapy the boy will almost certainly life a normal life. A judge says that the child must use chemotherapy. While generally, I support religious freedom and the ability of parents to determine the health care of their children, sometimes it is proper for the courts to intervene. Children who are denied modern health care when the medicine is usually able to rapidly cure the child should get that care. This case is not one where the doctors have only some small chance of saving the child. In this case it is clear that the doctors will almost certainly be able to cure the child. Only in those cases where the good of the child is very clear should the courts intervene. The rights of parents are very important and the government should not be quick to step in and usurp those rights. In this case the judge was right and the parents were not; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

America is Pro-Life

America is Now a Pro-Life Nation -- Politics Daily The polls have finally shown what many of us have always believed to be true, that America is a pro-life nation. Most polls skew the results to show that Americans think abortion is something that should be made available to everyone all the time. That is not true. Americans love little babies and when given the choice, they choose life. Abortion was foisted on America by an activist Supreme Court. There was no reason for it, except that they had a liberal bias and wanted to make abortion legal. Liberals claim that large numbers of women died when abortion was illegal because they would get abortions done in back alley abortion clinics. These clinics were nasty places and infection caused many women to die. Of course, there is no actual hard evidence that this happened, but liberals can't be denied because of a lack of facts. Now liberals claim that abortion must stay "safe and legal" because we can't go back to the bad old days. Of course, liberals also oppose any reporting on deaths of women who die during or after abortion procedures because they don't want hard facts to show how many women actually die in these "safe and legal" abortions. Abortion should be illegal, with readily available birth control there is no need for abortion; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Guns Not For Sale

Select Here to Contribute Now! California has gradually made it more and more difficult for people to obtain handguns. They made companies certify that their weapons are safe and if the weapon is not on the approved safe list, then they can't sell their guns in California. Naturally, this testing is expensive and companies don't want to spend money on testing guns that will not sell well in California. This has the long term consequence of fewer and fewer guns being on the list for sale in the state, because companies don't want to pay the yearly fee. Over the long term this has the effect of government denying us the right to keep and bear arms. If the government regulates the gun industry out of business, then the government has essentially taken away the right to have guns. If the government regulated the printing press industry, radio industry, television industry out of business, then what good would the right to a free press be to a people who have no access to the means of publishing news and opinion? The testing is a waste of time and money and is only designed to prevent people from getting guns. It raises the cost of guns by making companies perform expensive tests and pay annual government fees. Why should you have to pay an annual fee if the design of the gun does not change? Why wouldn't a gun simply stay on the list forever, as long as the design did not change? This is just a back door method of gun control, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Miss California

Miss California Shares Untold Stories with Her San Diego Megachurch Miss California answers a question about same sex marriage, and she gives an answer that is very similar to the answers that most politicians give, including President Obama, but it creates a firestorm of protest. The liberal left wants "gay marriage" and will go after any public figure that they can harm who speaks out against it. In all of history, no civilized society has permitted same sex marriages. It is against both god and nature, which is why no major religion has historically endorsed it and even secular governments have failed to endorse it. Even today, only those denominations that have abandoned the historic faith perform same sex marriages. In the beauty contest, Miss California gave a reasonable answer to the question and gave an answer that conformed to her opinion. She should be applauded for her honesty, rather than pander to political correctness and give an answer that would have appeased the judges, she gave her real opinion. I applaud her for that; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Religion Makes You Better

Popular Pakistani Singer Allegedly Murdered by Her Family - A woman becomes a singer and is very popular. She has a husband and two children. She is living a life that many would envy. Since she was a Muslim, and her family were Muslim, her brothers determined that she was living a sinful life and needed to die. So, they broke into her home and shot her to death in the name of the Religion of Peace. People of every religion commit crimes every day. Christians commit murder. Hindus kill people too. Jews beat their wives. But only Muslims do these crimes with the approval of the mainstream religious leaders of their religion. Christian, Hindu, and Jewish leaders speak out against murder, rape, and domestic violence. Muslim leaders join with their people to encourage and even plan murder, rape, and domestic violence. Humans are not perfect, even those who have a faith in a god. A faith in god provides us with guidance for life, it will tell us what behaviors are right and which ones are wrong. A religion should make us better members of society, not murderers; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Israel May Attack Iran

Israel 'preparing massive strike on Iran' Worried not only about Iran's development of nuclear technology and missile capability, Israel is preparing to be ready to deliver a "massive strike on Iran." They are worrying that the West is simply going to continue to blather and whine about Iran but not actually do anything about the continuing development of nuclear technology by Iran. Israel can't withstand the deaths of a few millions of it's citizens, they would cease to exist as a country if that happened. Iran can afford to lose a few million people and would not disappear as a nation if they were struck by nuclear weapons. It is this lack of symmetry that is such a concern to Israel. Their enemies can absorb much more punishment than they can absorb. The development of nuclear weapons by rogue nations, North Korea and Iran is a very dangerous development. The world needs to stand together and prevent these nations from getting nuclear weapons under any circumstances. The world is not doing a very good job; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Thursday, May 21, 2009

This week California voters turned down five ballot initiatives that all would have raised taxes and prevented pay reductions or lay offs of various public sector employees. Not only did we vote them down but we voted them down by a two to one margin. Many of us in the private sector have taken cuts in benefits, pay cuts, and even lost our jobs. Why should public sector employees be immune to those same burdens the rest of us are having to carry? California just passed the largest tax increase that any state has ever done in the history of the country. We have the highest taxes in the nation and we still have a budget deficit of tens of billions of dollars. Our state spending has increased a tremendous among in recent years. Now we have over 200,000 state employees. They are talking about making "huge" cuts in the state payroll, saying they may have to lay off as many as 5,000 state employees. That's a mere 2.5% of their workforce. Big deal. The turnover and retirements are probably that much every couple months anyway. They can lose 2.5% without firing anyone. They should be losing about 25% of their workforce, then I would be impressed, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Nuclear North Korea

The Communist government of North Korea has said they will start up their uranium enrichment program unless the sanctions against them are lifted by the United Nations. They are using their nuclear program to gain political advantage against the nations they consider their enemies. Can their be any doubt that the North Koreans fully intend to make ballistic missiles with nuclear warheads? Does anyone outside of North Korea think this is a good idea? What is the world going to do about this development? Is a North Korea armed with nuclear ballistic missiles in any ones best interest? Will Communist China sit idly by while North Korea makes nuclear weapons? What will be Japans' reaction to a North Korea armed with ballistic nuclear missiles? What will South Korea do about it? There are a few nations in the world that should no longer exist. They need regime change. They are oppressive to their own people and dangerous to their neighbors. North Korea is one of those, perhaps only Iran is more dangerous. This is an important moment for the world to see if we will allow North Korea to get nuclear weapons. The Obama Administration needs to be working hard to insure this does not happen, but I suspect they will not do anything effective to keep them from getting ballistic nuclear missiles. The Obama Administration will say there is no need to use force because North Korea does not yet have nuclear missiles. Once North Korea has nuclear missiles, the Obama Administration will say we can't use force because they have nuclear missiles; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Tax and Spend

Recession erodes Social Security and Medicare trust funds The ponzie scheme that the Federal Government claims is the Social Security Trust Fund is being eroded. There is no trust fund. The government collects money for Social Security, then borrows it and spends it on the daily operation of the government. There is no trust fund. The trust fund can't determine to loan the money to someone else for a better interest rate. The trust fund can't determine to avoid loaning the money and just hold it in trust. The government years ago determined to spend all the money. They take in the money from workers and pretend there is a fiction of a trust fund. It is simply a regressive tax on the working class; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Blame the Victim

Saudi Judge Slap Wives The Religion of Peace says it is okay to slap the wife as long as she deserves it. Like if she spends too much money on herself. Those in the West who try and say we are not at war with a culture that is all that different from our own need to be reminded of these cultural differences. How do you think that would play out in Los Angeles, Rome, Tokyo, London if you try and claim it is okay to slap your wife around if she deserves it because your religion says it is okay? On most Los Angeles Police cars there is a bumper sticker that says "There is no excuse for domestic violence." Apparently that's wrong. The excuse is that she deserved it. God said so. Keep in mind there are millions of Muslims in Western nations that think the same way as this Saudi judge. Keep in mind millions of these same Muslims are becoming citizens and voting in elections, even running for office. How soon will a Muslim judge in Paris or New York make the same ruling? President Obama wants to appoint judges who have empathy with minority groups. Perhaps he should appoint the first Muslim to the Supreme Court of the United States, someone with empathy towards men who have wives who deserve to be beaten; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Six Times In A Row

Services : The Rock Church I have no doubt that this is a sincere church and that they have the spirit of Christ in their church. I am also certain that they do a lot of good. If you don't have a church home and live in the San Diego, California area I am sure you can do far worse than to visit this large and vibrant community of Christians. When I read the website about this church there was one thing that concerned me. They perform communion eight times a year. Jesus said, in the Gospel of St. John, Chapter 6: "51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. 52 The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat? 53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. 54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. 56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. 58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever." Six times in a row Jesus says for us to drink his blood and eat his flesh. If Jesus says something than much, I suspect he wants us to do it more frequently than only eight times a year. Go to church at least once a week, go to Communion at least once a week; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Good Bye Animals

Animals and money: Bronx Zoo lays off hundreds of 'unpopular' animals The largest zoo in the nation, the Bronx Zoo in New York City is getting rid of hundreds of animals because they are faced with a budget shortfall of $15 million and have to cut costs. The mandate of zoos is to educate us about animals and to provide animals for research and to preserve animals that might be threatened in the wild. For a measly $15 million, about a dollar for every person in NYC they are trashing that mandate. What other options were explored before this plan to dispose of unpopular animals? Did they advertise the less popular ones to try and spark interest in them? Did the pair unpopular animals with popular ones so the relationship between them can be explored? Did they reach out to the ethnic communities who may have a special place for these animals and ask for donations? Did they raise the price of admission, or expand the gift shop and website to earn more money? Did they approach their sponsors and ask for special donations? Did they examine their own expenses to see if attrition can reduce staffing or if outsourcing some work could save money? Did they freeze or cut staff pay, or get volunteers from the community to do some of the work? Did they partner with colleges or high schools for work study programs? Did they contact other zoos to see what they are doing to stay in business? A zoo should be more than just lions and tigers and bears; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Israel vs Iran Some say that Israel may be prepared to act, if the United States won't, to prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons. The state of Israel is very small and they can't survive hits from more that a couple nuclear weapons. An attack on the United States on five or six major cities by nuclear weapons from Islamic terrorists would be a terrible thing, but the nation would survive as a nation. An attack of that magnitude on Israel could destroy them as a nation. They can't afford the risk. Should the Israelis determine that it is in their best interest to attack Iran, the US should cooperate fully with them in that task. It is in our best interest also. In my opinion the US should be leading the attack, but naturally we won't. Europe should be part of the attack too, but of course, they choose to continue to negotiate. I often wonder what it would take for the Europeans to actually go to war anymore. If 9 / 11 had happened in France, or Germany, or Norway, what would they have done? Asked the UN for a resolution condemning international violence? Ask the US to go fight for them? Ask for tougher sanctions against Iran? Our enemies only understand strength and determination, but as we are strong militarily; we are weak willed; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Left Wing Agenda

100 DAYS, 100 MISTAKES FOR BARACK OBAMA - New York Post The Washington Post has listed 100 mistakes by President Barack Obama in his first 100 days in office. In my opinion many of them are not mistakes, they are lies, and misdirections. He spoke in the campaign about more openness and less special interest spending and more transparency with less corruption. He never intended to keep those promises. Why would he appoint all these people with issues in their background with back taxes and other legal problems if he wanted an administration with less corruption. The answer is he does not care about corruption as much as he cares about advancing his left wing political agenda. Why would he spend trillions of dollars and pass spending bills without letting anyone read them first, even the very people who are voting on those bills? The answer is he does not care as much about containing spending as he cares about forwarding his left wing political agenda. The advancement of his left wing political agenda takes precedence over any promise he made in the campaign. So if openness, fairness, curtailing special interest spending or any other promise much be sacrificed, then so be it, as long as President Obama can forward his left wing agenda; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Choose Life

"ACA House of Bishops Statement on the “Freedom of Choice Act” The so-called “Freedom of Choice Act” now working its way through Congress eliminates any choice at all, first for the thousands of unborn babies who will be slaughtered at taxpayer expense, and also for conscientious medical practitioners with moral and/or religious objections to performing abortions. The former will be dead, and the latter will be subject to legal penalties, including forfeiture of their licenses to practice medicine, if they refuse to provide fodder for the charnel houses. This legislation constitutes the epitome of the death culture’s grab for power in our country. As bishops in the Church of God, we the House of Bishops of the Anglican Church in America call on such medical providers to practice the quiet, peaceable civil disobedience which once triumphed over “Jim Crow” laws, by continuing to provide principled medical care. And we call upon all faithful Christians to seek and obtain medical care from such practitioners. If this creates a “white market” in medical care, so be it. If it comes at a cost to some or many, it will be no more than the cost of obtaining civil rights for all some forty years ago. I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. Therefore choose life. (Deut. 30:19)" A statement from the Anglican Church in America; and I concur here at the Hysterical Right Wing.

Forced Abortions?

President Obama Starts Process of Removing Doctors' Protections on Abortions Many doctors and other health care providers took an oath to do no harm and to not do abortions. They practice a health care that tries to preserve life, not end life. Many Roman Catholics and others refuse to provide abortions and the law has protected them. Now the Obama Administration wants to remove those legal protections. Just because abortion is legal does not mean that everyone thinks it is a moral activity. Should every retail store be required to sell cigarettes and booze just because it is legal? Should every printing company be required to print pornography just because it is legal? Just as those who want an abortion have legal and moral rights those who provide medical services have rights too. Just as no one should be forced to have an abortion, no one should be forced to perform one either. The pro-life movement has been very successful in it's message to medical providers. Fewer and fewer doctors are performing abortions because they have come to have a pro-life view or because they don't want the stigma of being seen as a "baby killer." It is wrong for the government to force medical professionals to perform any procedure they consider immoral; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

No Same Sex Marriage

"ACA Message on Marriage House of Bishops, Monserrat Retreat at Lake Dallas, TX - 21 April 2009 Since the beginning of human history, marriage has been the institutional building block of society. And since the beginning of human history, marriage has been between a man and a woman, male and female. The Book of Genesis testifies to this for Christians and Jews. Aristotle (ca. 350 BC) adds his own secular testimony. “The dual purpose of marriage is unitive and procreative. It provides a structure for raising children. The political state will not be healthy without health citizens, and healthy citizens come from healthy families, comprised of mother, father and child(ren).” Our Creator made us male and female, with the result that the physical union in marriage is a reality. Male and female really unite in a way that is impossible for members of the same sex, and that union is open to the possibility of procreation in a way that no “same-sex union” could possibly be. Romantic “love,” we agree, is not the concern of the state. But the crux of the issue is whether marriage serves society and conforms to the will of our Creator. Gay unions cannot do this because they cannot produce good citizens, and refuse to conform to the way in which human beings were created by God. There is an order to all things; there is a natural law-a law of reason, received from our Creator. Through this law man can comprehend his ultimate end, and the way he must live to fulfill it. God will not be mocked. To disdain his law is inevitably to invite disaster, both personal and social. While the Anglican Church in America, part of the worldwide Traditional Anglican Communion does not support discrimination in any fashion against any human being and upholds the dignity of all, neither do we believe that the state has any right to change the definition of a sacramental gift from our Creator. Presented and approved by the House of Bishops, Anglican Church in America, meeting in session, April 21, 2009. Follow the ACA House of Bishops Statement on Gay Marriage and the Freedom of Choice Act for the official statements." That's what I think here too at the Hysterical Right Wing.

Oily Businessmen

Islamic Republic News Agency :: 14th int’l Oil Show kicks off in Tehran The show included five US companies and oil companies from all over Europe and South Korea. If there are supposed to be embargoes against Iran for developing nuclear technologies, why are all these companies, especially American companies, at this show? All the time the US and EU talk tough about stopping other nations from developing nuclear weapons but then do little or nothing about it. If we were really serious there would not be American or European companies in Iran trying to sell them oil equipment. Oil is the major source of money for Iran and if they have more money they can finance their nuclear projects. The USA and EU should be working to increase nuclear power use by their own people so that they can reduce the need to buy Iranian oil. Stopping the enemy from making money is an important tool we need to use more often; that's the view from the hysterical right wing.

God Save Laura Ling & Euna Lee

North Korea Trial God Save Laura Ling & Euna Lee because our President and Congress certainly don't seem intrested in doing so. North Korea has kidnapped two American reporters from the border area with China and now plans to put them on trial. Why is it that North Korea is able to get away with such outrageous behavior? Why is it that our press does not print the names of Laura Ling and Euna Lee and mention them on every newscast until they are released? North Korea counterfeits our currency, builds nuclear weapons, test fires ballistic missiles and kidnaps American reporters and our government seeming does nothing about it. The US government should be squeezing North Korea everyday until they stop these outrageous acts. In fact, it is my opinion that regime change should be the policy of the American government vis a vie North Korea. The repressive, evil Communist government of North Korea cares nothing for their own people and even less for those outside their nation. North Korea cannot feed itself, it has few energy resources. Most of their trade is with the Communist Chinese. The US should demand the release of all Americans in the custody of North Korea. Failure to release these Americans should result in a total stopping of all American aid to North Korea and we should pressure all other nations to do likewise. Even Communist China should not be trading with North Korea. The US should impose trade restrictions on Communist China if they continue to prop up the failed North Korean government. A North Korea armed with nuclear ballistic missiles is not in anyones self interest, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

No Weather Gal on That TV Station

No Saudi Women Allowed on TV, in Print - Lemondrop Clerics have said that women should not be allowed to appear in either television or in print. Those liberals in the Western nations who keep insisting there is no culture war against Islam continue to ignore the obvious differences between them an these Mullahs. As American liberals continue to decry the lack of Black faces and gay and lesbian characters on television and in print, Islamic clerics say that no women should be on television. How can that not be a clear sign of a culture war between Islamic values and Western values. In the West we value women and place them at a status that is equal to men in nearly every endeavor. In conservative Islamic societies, women are not allowed to appear in public without being covered from head to foot and are now being banned even from appearing on television. The West needs to listen to these people who are making statements about how to live in a modern Islamic society. They clearly are not in keeping with Western values. What will these Liberals say when a European nation becomes a majority Muslin nation and votes to remove the image of women from all television and print media? Of course by that time, they won't be able to say anything; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

CA Political News show Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega lashed out at the United States and afterwards when asked about his speech, President Obama had nothing constructive to say. He did not defend the United States nor did he point out the many problems with Nicaragua. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was equally evasive only saying how much she enjoyed the cultural events of the day. This is all part of the failure of those in the free democratic Christian nations of Western culture to believe or stand up for themselves. They are afraid of being called racists, or intolerant, or even just rude by people who are our sworn enemies. The President of Nicaragua was not afraid to stand up in front of everyone and complain about the United States. One would think that if anyone would stand up for the USA it should be the President of the United States. The nations of the free world are slowly slipping into decline. We are afraid to confront the very evil forces in this world that attack our institutions. We have to ask the President if Navy snipers can shoot pirates that are shooting at Navy warships and threatening the lives of American citizens. There should be no question about that. There should be no question that the West defend itself from every attack, verbal, pirate, or terrorist; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Internet Tax

Internet purchases soon to include sales tax Congress never content with any business activity that goes untaxed is now working on developing plans to tax purchases made on the Internet. Sales tax will have to be collected and paid in the state where the purchaser lives. So every small mom and pop business that sells products over the Internet will have to know and comply with the tax policies of fifty states. If you sell bird feeders in Vermont and someone from California buys one you have to know how much tax to charge them. In fact, in California we have at least four different sales tax rates and probably more than that. Our state allows local governments to charge additional sales tax beyond what the state gets. So you the small businessman have to comply with perhaps hundreds of different sales tax regulations. In California some foods are taxed and some are not. How will someone know what is taxable and what is not in 50 different states, and hundreds, even thousands, of counties and cities? Then at the end of the quarter or end of the year you have to send them all checks? Maybe send a ten cent check to some state that had little business with you? This is an accounting and compliance nightmare and should be defeated; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Fair Game

Ron Howard vs William Donohue Ron Howard has produced a movie, "Angels & Demons" that is a prequel to "The Da Vinci Files." The movie claims that the Roman Catholic Church committed a mass murder several centuries ago. The incident never happened. The movie is of course a work of fiction, but it is depicting historical events. I can understand the need for dramatic license to combine characters or compress time but to make up incidents of mass murder and ascribe them to an organization that still exists is insulting to that organization. If the movie depicted a massacre of Irish in 1935 by the British that never happened would be met with outrage by the English. If the movie depicted a massacre of white settlers by American Indians in 1890 that never happened, Native American groups would be up in arms denouncing the movie. If the Roman Catholic Church is accused of a mass murder that never happened, that's apparently just fine. Hollywood and the main stream media constantly attacks the Roman Catholic Church. The Church has taken a stand against abortion, against same sex marriage, and in favor of traditional values. The movie industry seldom misses a chance to slam the Roman Catholic Church. This is just the latest in a long series of movies and TV shows and slanted news items; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

National Will

We won the war in Iraq. The conventional war and now the unconventional war. If we keep troops there long enough the Iraq government will be stable and experienced enough to govern themselves. It takes at least five years for a police officer in the United States to develop the training and experience to be a really good cop. In Iraq where they started with little infrastructure and few supervisors and field training officers it will take at least ten years. We have kept soldiers in Germany and South Korea for 50 - 60 years, why should we think that Iraq would require less of an effort? The key is the will of the people. The intangible desire of a people and their leaders to accomplish goals that may be hard that shape us. The West has lost much of their will and even fail to grasp Western Culture, Christendom as unique and valuable. It was the national will that sent Americans to the Moon. It was patriotic fervor, leadership that dared to do hard things and a people who believed that they could do it. We need societal institutions that teach American culture and it's greatness and a media and political establishment that reinforce those beliefs. If we do not then Islam, or socialism will destroy us. I suspect it will be socialism first and then Islam, the same path Europe is following; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Pirates Are Dumb

Blundering pirates attack Nato ship - AOL News These are the moronic dolts that we are afraid of off the coast of Africa? They are so stupid and incompetent they can't tell the difference between a German naval supply ship and a civilian vessel. A group of pirates attacked a ship that turned out to be a German military supply ship. The pirates were all captured. I wonder why the pirates were not simply blown out of the water. The pirates should have been the recipients of a helicopter gunship attack and sunk at sea. This brings up the perfect strategy for anti-pirate use. The Q-Ship. In the First and Second World Wars, the US and other navies used ships disguised as harmless merchant vessels to lure enemy submarines to the surface. Once the enemy ship approached, the sides of the "merchant ship" fell away and opened up to reveal a cruiser in disguise. They would take the enemy ship under fire and destroy it. The Q-ship seems the perfect type of ship for anti-pirate patrol. If they are approached by armed men in small boats, they wait until they are 250 meters away and then sink the vessel, killing all aboard. Once pirates go out on missions and fail to return, the word will get out that piracy is not the profitable job it once was. Couple that with Marines and hostage rescue teams going in after the hostages and stolen ships and care and the pirate problem will be solved quickly enough; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Drugs & Guns

NRA-ILA :: President Obama Announces Support for Firearms Treaty President Obama has announced his support for a firearms treat that would restrict the sale of weapons. They claim that it is designed to prevent drug traffickers and terrorists from getting weapons, but many fear it will be used against lawful gun owners to further restrict our rights. There is near civil war in some parts of Mexico due to the violence associated with revolutionaries and drug lords. The Mexicans blame the American for the violence because they claim that the drug cartels send people into the US to buy guns and then they are taken back to Mexico. In California everyone who buys a gun has to pay a fee, wait two weeks and pass a background check. I suspect the average Mexican drug lord is not a resident of California and could not pass the background check. He probably also does not want to wait two weeks to get his guns. If this is indeed how the Mexican drug lords are getting their firearms then they are already committing several crimes. Passing additional laws or treaties is unnecessary. Simply enforce the laws that are already on the books. I read an article a couple years ago that said very few people who buy guns in California fail the background check and most of them are simple accounting errors. People with similar names or data entry errors or issues that have been resolved but are still on the records. This is liberalism, it does not matter that the existing laws are not enforced or that there is no actual problem, lets do something anyway. Even if it does not solve the problem at least we will feel good about it; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Hate Crimes

'Hate crimes' bill - bad news for believers ( The Congress is considering a bill to ban 'hate crimes.' Hate crimes typically add additional punishment to acts that are already a crime due to the motivation of the perpetrator of the criminal acts. In recent years they have been expanded to include 'hate speech' as a hate crime. Making otherwise legal public discourse into a criminal act. Now the Federal Government wants to add the term "sexual orientation" to hate crimes legislation. The obvious intent of this legislation is to increase the punishment for criminals who commit illegal acts against homosexuals because they are homosexual. The more subtle agenda is that the term sexual orientation can mean as many as thirty different sexual orientations. They include, but are not limited to incest, necrophilia, pedophilia, and even bestiality. This could mean that if someone speaks out against those activities they could be subject to prosecution for a hate crime. They could be accused of hate speech. This law could eventually be used as the basis for anti-discrimination lawsuits. If your fail to hire a pedophile for your day care center or someone who participated in necrophilia for your mortuary you could be accused of job discrimination of someone in a protected class. Hate crime laws are unnecessary. If someone is victimized it does not matter why, and the criminal should be punished for what they do, not for what they think; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.
