Sam Spade's San Francisco: SFC Patrick J. Arthur, U. S. Army, Comes Home after 58-years MIA Over ten years ago the North Koreans gave the US several hundred boxes containing the remains of up to 500 US Army service members. The Army just identified SFC Patrick J. Arthur as one of those sets of remains. He was captured by the Communists and died of disease and malnutrition only two months later. Red Cross packages go undelivered and American and Allied POWs died under the cruel treatment of the Communists in North Korea and the Peoples Republic of China. Now the North Koreans are testing a new American administration that is again determined to show weakness rather than strength. The same North Koreans who claim they want to be a part of the family of nations wants to launch a missile that many are worried is simply another step in their goal of obtaining intercontinental ballistic nuclear weapons. We cannot trust the North Korean government of today anymore than SFC Patrick J. Arthur could trust them to do the right thing. The same repression, lies and Communism run North Korea today. They try and put a happy face on their actions but even a cursory review will show they are still and evil and repressive regime, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Bilderberger Conspiracy Trilateral Commission Council on Foreign Relations I am not a member of any of these groups. As far as I know, no one I know is a member of these groups. Rich people often get together and form groups, commissions and councils. At those organizations they discuss issues that concern them. They are not a conspiracy. They are not a secret cabal. Their meetings are usually in public and often they publish reports about their activities. They don't issue orders and all their members don't go forth after the meetings and implement their secret agenda. These are people who have similar interests, similar income, similar values. They discuss major policy issues and their organizations issue reports about how the world can best solve it's problems. They see things generally the same way. These are rich and powerful people who their whole lives have worked in government and international big business. They see every problem as needing a solution that will come through government and international big business. What they don't have is good Christian religious leaders showing them the compassion and example of Christ. They don't know the goodness that is in people and how it can be tapped for the accomplishment of good things. They don't have regular middle class folks who can tell them how hard working, honest God-fearing men and women can raise families and help themselves. They don't know how many problems their solutions often create and that most people know what's best for themselves without having to have government interfere with their lives; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Borneo snake hoax The Internet shows a picture of a giant snake in a river in Borneo. A few days later it is revealed as a hoax picture. How come the Internet news is so quick to print junk news? They gave us the woman who claimed to have swam the Atlantic Ocean, at more than 200 miles per day! The quality of reporting is so low that any claim seems to be given play on line, even by large companies like AOL. The drive to show something first seems to be more important than getting anything right or even carefully reading their own articles to see if they make sense before publishing. Once the article is published the damage has been done because few people will read the retraction, if they even bother to make one. Too often the initial story runs on the headlines for days and then the retraction or correction is buried someplace and only runs for a short bit of time. Better research is called for on Internet new; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Fisher-Price Ends View-Master of Sites - WalletPop Fisher-Price says they are ending the View Master series that shows historical sites and sites of interest. This series has been popular from the beginning of View Master but now they have determined that a mere $10 million is not enough income to make it worth their while. So many businesses out there that would be thrilled to have a annual gross income of $10 million. Today's companies are so greedy, they look to squeeze every tiny little bit of cash out of everything they do, and if they can't get the return on investment they want in the short term then they stop the process and move on to something else. Television is a good example of this, they put on a television show that millions of people watch every week. If they can't break into the top few shows, then they pull the show off the schedule in search of the next big thing. Millions of viewers are not enough to keep a show on the air, yet so many cable TV shows are lucky to have even a million viewers. Corporate greed may have sounded the death knell for American capitalism. The Obama Administration is bailing out companies and taking over ownership of them. They are micromanaging the companies and telling the CEO's what they can pay their workers. A free market economy is a great idea, but it needs to be tempered with morality, decency, and a few to the long term; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Cave home saved! Meet its savior! Some folks purchased a cave in Missouri and turned it into their dream home. I looked at it on eBay and it was a great place with lots of potential. I seriously considered buying the home and discussed it back and forth with my wife. I read more about their plight and that they were selling it because they had hit a rough patch in their lives and did not really want to sell or to move. Along came a hero who refinanced their home and now they will get to stay in their house. This story has a happy ending and did not involve any government bailouts. It was all done by private people who worked hard, invested, took some risks, made some money and then when to help their fellow man. This is the greatness of American, the generosity of our people; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Shark Video Triggers Some Backlash Men video tape a two hour underwater fight with a shark that ends with the death of the shark. Then the video gets posted on line and suddenly the liberal animal loves all jump on the Internet to complain that the shark got killed. It was a shark. Two men killed it, they ate it afterwards. It's what men do. Men kill sharks. Men has always killed sharks. Sharks are good food and their skin can make a good leather and other products as well. Too many liberals are so far removed from what happens in the world, how products are made, how people are fed that they are totally clueless about the food chain. There are billions of people in the world and sharks and other seafood are an important resource to feed those people. I am not in favor of the simple slaughter of animals, even sharks. They are a resource that should be used. When you go fishing or hunting the animals harvested should be eaten and the hides should be used if appropriate. Responsible hunting and fishing actually saves species, that's why there are so many white tailed deer in the US; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

9/11 Defendants Documents Those Islamic terrorists who murdered thousands of innocent people on September 11, 2001 have defended their actions calling the USA terrorists. They claim that it was justified by the acts of America. The US military has very restrictive rules of engagement when fighting the War on Islamic Terror. The US military has very restrictive rules on how to treat prisoners and their treatment is no worse than the way we treat our own soldiers. The US military has the power to flatten every city in the Muslim world. We could have launched missiles from the US and from ships overseas and kill nearly everyone in Afghanistan and Iraq, with nuclear or even non-nuclear weapons. We did not do that. We placed our own troops in harms way to insure that we kept civilian and non-combatants injuries and deaths to a minimum. At some point, all US troops will leave those two nations and they will be free and independent states. We could have simply kept those countries as colonies and stolen the oil and other resources. Does anyone doubt that the Islamic Terrorists would not have used nuclear weapons against us? Does anyone doubt that they would take over the US and make it an Islamic nation if they could? Does anyone doubt that they would kill anyone from a Western nation they can get their hands on? They have killed missionaries, aid workers, contract workers, and even their own people if they don't hold the same views as they do; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

saudi woman sentenced to lashes In Saudi Arabia a woman has been sentenced to lashes. This from a nation that is allied to the US in the war on terror. This from a nation that has looked to the West for technology and has made some progress towards modernization. This just shows how far Islam is behind most of the rest of the world in social development. The West is at war with radical Islam. Radical Islam is not a law enforcement problem. Radical Islam has declared war against the West and against the United States in particular. They consistently repeat this declaration and yet many in the West keep wanting to make this war into a crime spree. The Obama Administration keeps trying to eliminate the verbiage used by the Bush Administration in the War on Islamist Terror. One failing of the Bush Administration was a failure to mobilize the nation to fight the war. They were too timid to call it a war against Radical Islam and instead called it a war on "terror." World War Two was not a War on Blitzkrieg. Blitzkrieg was a tactics, just as terror is a tactic. We are at war, with Radical Islam, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

9-Year-Old Girl Abortion A man has sex with his daughter and gets her pregnant. The Roman Catholic Church makes a recommendation for life, that the little girl not go through the trauma of an abortion and kill another human being. The liberals get all up in arms because they can't stand to see a little girl have to face the trauma of having to give birth to a child. Why is it that a natural physical process like pregnancy and child birth is a "trauma" but a dangerous medical procedure like abortion is not a trauma? I can understand that a nine year old girl should not be having a baby. But I also think that nine year old girls should not be having sex or having abortions either. I have no problem with the girl having the child and then giving it up for adoption. I have no doubt that there would be plenty of parents waiting to take the child. The left is so anti-life and anti-child they always recommend the death penalty for any innocent person. Child is pregnant? Have an abortion. Baby is deformed? Have an abortion. Baby is born with a birth defect? Euthanize it immediately. Grandma is old and infirm? Put her down like the dog. Grandpa has a poor quality of life? Give him something to make it all stop. Mom is depressed? Have the doctor give her a shot and put her out of her misery. Brother murdered five children? Life in prison, that's what the liberals say, but not what I say here at the Hysterical Right Wing.

Obama Afghanistan Taliban Lets look for the moderates in the Taliban. Perhaps they will be the ones who will cut your head off with a ceramic knife as a nod to modernity. The Taliban believe that Western ideals and culture are an affront to god and they will never be willing to co-exist with others who have Western ideas. They don't want women to drive, hold important jobs, or even appear outdoors in public without wearing a burka, or go outside without a male relative. What is the compromise position with that? When the Taliban was in power they allowed soccer to be played in the Olympic stadium in Kabul. If you applauded a save or cheered for a goal, Taliban men would run to your location and beat you with a long whip. Soccer was only for exercise and not for keeping score. Other times the stadium was used for public executions for adultery and other crimes. When women went to the doctor they were not permitted to disrobe, they had to point to locations on a doll to show the doctor where they were hurting or injured. What is the compromise position with those issues? There were ancient statues of Buddha in Afghanistan that international organizations, other governments and even foreign Mullahs said was not threat to Islam. Despite this, the Taliban blew them up into little bits. The Taliban went into museums and broke up statues and friezes that were centuries old and cut out people from any paintings as an affront to Islam. What is the compromise position for that? There are no moderate Taliban and we are fooling ourselves to think that their are; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

My friend Ken has had a great idea to replace President Obama's bailout approach to the U.S. auto industry; he says it was completely backwards. Instead of sending vast sums to GM and Chrysler, the hard dollars should have gone directly to aid the consumer in a safe and specific format. Firstly, in recognition that Detroit has, in recent years, been producing generally more reliable, durable and safer vehicles, especially passenger cars; and the object is to stimulate American consumers’ purchasing of domestic vehicles, which directly and obviously serves the cash flow and viability interests of the Big 3 automakers and rather than President Obama giving our and our grand kids’ precious monies directly to those corporations, the new aid policy should have announced that provided a U.S. citizen consumer purchased a new, domestic vehicle directly from a Big 3 U.S. dealer, during calendar year 2009 only, the Federal Government would pay the first $10,000.00 of the purchase price. That’s right-- an outright, one-time, completely tax-free gift of ten thousand dollars to every U.S. citizen buyer-- to be exercised, if at all, during the remainder of the 2009 year. Make a limit of one or two per household, including such impositions on business and corporate fleet purchasers by limiting them to half a dozen. No need for any cash, check or other money instrument to actually pass through the consumers’ hands, since the proof sale documents, vehicle registration information goes from the retailing dealer to the Federal program. The purchaser pays any and all costs above the $10,000, including all state new car registration, licensing fees and sales tax. Finally, to prevent any opportunistic dealer gouging, the dealer sales price of all domestic vehicles would be frozen at the retroactive date of Jan. 1, 2009. The value of this plan is that it is simple and direct with a direct value to the consumer. There is little overhead to administer the program and the car companies get to make cars, employees stay working and people get new cars. A win for everyone; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Hard left media figure Whoopi Goldberg has been complaining about the increased taxes by the federal, state and local governments. The far left loves big government and now they are being asked to pay for it, and suddenly it is a problem. The Federal Government is spending vast amounts of money. Our grandchildren may be paying for this spending. I doubt that they will. I think things will happen that will prevent them from having to pay for this spending. Massive government spending often leads to inflation. If we keep spending like this for very long we will have hyperinflation and our debt will be paid off in cheaper inflated money. The other way our grandchildren can avoid the problem is for the government to simply void the debt. With the government taking ownership of the bank, I can see them simply writing off the debt that they own to themselves. Some creative and immoral accounting procedure to make the debt go away. We are spending too much and with no real return on the investment; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Do you think that the idea of the federal government taking over the banking system is a good or bad idea? I think it is a very bad idea. What does the federal government do well? Not very much. The post office? The VA hospital system? Why would banking be any better? I think poor lending rules required by the Federal Government caused lending firms to loan money to people who could not afford houses and now the Federal Government will just take over the system that they broke and make it better?!? The government is not motivated by making a profit. They are all about rendering a service, with little regard to cost or even effectiveness. Public schools consistently are out performed by Roman Catholic schools, who have less money per student. Private toll roads are typically better maintained than public roads. Would you rather go to a public county hospital or a private hospital? The government should not take over banks. The government should not micro-manage banks. The government should regulate banks to make sure they don't' steal our money and if they go bankrupt the government should let them go broke, just like any other business; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Do you believe that the Obama administration can spend its way out of our economic catastrophe and do so without raising taxes on all of us? I think they will raise various fees and excise taxes and such so they can pretend they are not raising taxes, because it is not Income Tax. They will raise taxes on the "rich" and I think they will keep defining the "rich" as lower an lower amounts, not $250K, but $200K or $150K or even $100K a year income. They will also increase the Social Security withholding because it is paid by everyone and most is used for general revenue not Social Security spending and again they will pretend they are not raising taxes on the "Poor" and "Middle Class." They will cut taxes and give tax credits to those at the bottom as a way to redistribute the wealth, giving money from rich people to poor people; very socialist. In a couple years all his spending will lead to inflation which will wipe out all our savings and much of our nations debt, because the zillions he will spend will be worthless. With 20% inflation for a few years he can make much of the debt go away. It will also lead to higher wages so more people will fall into that rich category and can pay more taxes; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.
Tuesday, March 17, 2009
Do you agree with the idea that someone who makes $250K a year is rich and should be subjected to higher taxes? $250,000 a year is not all that rich and I don't think they should have to pay higher taxes. A cop who works a lot of overtime and a nurse in a critical care ward could have a combined income of that much. Are cops and nurses rich people now? What happens when rich people are taxed more? They stop working. The nurse does not take those extra shifts and stays home and their income goes to $235,000 a year. The small businessman who owns four dry cleaners and works 14 hours a day sells one and only works 12 hours a day and makes $245,000 a year instead of $300,000 a year. So tax revenues often go down when you raise taxes. God only wants 10% of your income why does the Federal Government need half of it or more. I have heard discussion recently that we need to go back to the old tax rates of as much as 90% of income. That's just wrong; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Obama-linked think tank calls for US “nuclear umbrella” in Middle East President Obama wants to cut our nuclear arsenal at the same time his administration is considering extending our nuclear umbrella over more territory. Does anyone think Obama would really fire off a nuclear weapon to protect Israel, Iraq or any other Middle Eastern nation? I am not so sure he would fire one off to protect the USA! The US nuclear umbrella has extended over Western Europe since the end of World War Two and South Korea since the end of that war. The US makes it known that an attack against a particular nation will be considered as an attack against the US and the US to retaliate just as we would if we were attacked. It works very well, if you can convince the potential enemies that you really, really mean to launch a full scale attack against any potential enemy. Would the US go to war, again, to defend Iraq? How about after we withdraw most of our troops from there? If Iran were to launch a major conventional attack against Iraq would we be as willing to launch nuclear weapons against Iran to defend Iraq as we would have done against the Soviet Union, when we were defending Western Germany? I am not so sure that this administration at least would be credible on that; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

The mainstream media is divided into to camps, and has been for at least 40 years. Most of us on the right don't realize this division because both camps attack us so we tend to think of them as being the same group, a huge leftist monolith that hates conservatives. About 50% of the main stream media is leftists that hate conservatives. They will allow Obama to do almost anything as long as he is generally liberal. These are the people that excused all the bad things Clinton did as president. They are willing to overlook the sexual harassment, corruption, graft, lying because his political views are the same as they have and they want their people in power. They will do the same with President Obama. That is how most conservatives view all of the media, but we are wrong about that. The other half of the media is anti-establishment leftists who oppose anyone who is in power. They are often anarchists with the mantra "question authority," they oppose religion, corporations, the establishment, the police, laws in general, authority figures of any kind. So when Bush was in power they critiqued him because he was generally conservative and he was an authority figure. Now that Obama is in power they critique him because they hate those who are in power. Their views overlap those of the left, they like gays and diversity and green issues, but they don't like a power structure. These are the people who will complain about corruption in the Obama administration. They like his views, they don't like the power structure. They hate people and want a world population of only a few hundred thousand, they don't want governments, or religion, or any group that tells them they are wrong. They are the gay, drug user shrub types that have a bolt in their forehead and tattoos all over their body if they are young, or wear a suit with a pony tail if they are my age. They are the ones who want to "stick it to the man." Conservatives don't recognize the difference between these two groups. This second group endorsed Obama only because they hated McCain; but they would have voted for Ralph Nader or some other Green or Socialist or Communist candidate if there was one running. Most of the main stream media is opposed to those of us who are conservative, but much of the media will be opposed to President Obama because he is a member of the establishment; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

How California Became FranceUnable to afford a welfare state and unable to reform it. California is on the verge of collapse. The Federal government has raised taxes on the "rich," and now California is raising taxes on everyone. Income taxes are supposed to double, the car tax is increasing and so is the sales tax. At a time when businesses are slowing down the government is "stimulating" economic activity by taking away money from not only those who make money but by taking money away from those who have little money. The legislature was months overdue on a budget. They have to balance the budget every year. With incomes falling and property values falling they have less income this year than last year. Rather than make major cuts in programs and staffing and payrolls, they raise taxes and give less to the cities. Local governments are cutting police. The state has been playing games with the budget for years. A few years ago the governor tried to bring pensions and other payroll expenses under control but the unions told everyone he was anti-police, anti-nurse, anti-teacher and that the state would collapse if we voted for his proposals. Well, his proposals were defeated and now the state is about to collapse. The unions got their way and as conservatives predicted the state has no money. I don't see things getting better here anytime soon, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

That's Fit An article about a woman who exercised her husband to death. Eat well, keep fit, die anyway. People forget that everything dies. We have to put everything in context. I read an article that said if I exercised 20 minutes three times a week I would add 90 days to my lifespan. I did the math and figured out that at my age 20 minutes three times a week would take up about 90 days of my life. All that pain, and no real gain. If I exercised 24/7 could I then live forever? Fitness is nice, it is best not to weigh 400 pounds, but too much of fitness is like too much else, not worth the trouble. Unless you are a Navy SEAL or Army Ranger there is no need to exercise all the time. Too much of the activity at the gym is just posing and narcissism. Look at me, I am lifting more weights than you are, I am more beautiful than you. Our society has become too self conscious. Too self absorbed. Too many people have become in love with themselves and look for other to worship them. Celebrities who are famous for being famous, just because they are beautiful. Then those who fawn over them because they are so beautiful. They spend all their time looking at each other, and ignore the real problems in this world that need fixing. They spend all their time worshiping themselves, and not worshiping the only One worthy of worship; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Widow of Chain-Smoker Gets $8 Million If I run with scissors and fall and get killed, can my widow sue the scissors company for $8 million? If I eat and then go swimming ten minutes later, and drown, can my wife sue the swimming pool company for $8 million? If I wave a red flag at a bull and get killed, can my wife sue the beef industry for $8 million? In the 1930's Nazi Germany had massive government anti-smoking campaigns. The health hazards of smoking are no secret to anyone. The dangers of smoking have been well known for at least 80 years, if not longer. There have been warnings on cigarette packs for 30 or more years. People do something stupid, even do something stupid over a long period of time and then try and blame someone else. Smoking is dangerous. Smoking can kill you, or make existing illnesses worse. Who does not know that? Does this lawsuit mean that the more stupid and ill informed you are the more worth? So the man who is too ignorant to know smoking is bad is worth $8 million if he dies as a result of smoking but the well informed man who smokes anyway is worth nothing? Too much greed, masquerading as victimization; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

boy accused of killing brother The main stream media looks at a child who has killed his older brother and sensationalized the murder because it is brother against brother and the killer is so young. The reason the older brother was murdered is that the younger brother wanted to take over his cocaine distribution business. The failure of the war on drugs has created two new causalities. The main stream media fails to look on itself and accept the blame for their part in the drug culture. The constant barrage from music and television and movies about the glamor of drug use and the implication that "everyone does it" and that it is a "victimless" crime all give people the feeling that it is okay to use drugs. In a real war, the whole society would be mobilized to fight the enemy, in this case, illegal drugs. The problem here is too many people don't realize the danger of the enemy and too many have been co opted by the enemy. Too many people think it is a personal choice to take drugs, forgetting that twelve year old children can't make informed decisions to take drugs or not. Too many people in influential places take drugs themselves or have friends and relatives who take drugs to take the fight seriously. Drugs are a terrible scourge on our land, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Topless Coffee Bar Stirs Things Up in Maine - Lemondrop Is this part of the President Obama stimulus package? Does everything have to be about sex? I hope they go out of business soon. There is enough porn going on that we don't need it in small towns in Maine too. Adult businesses create an environment that increases crime. Some cities talk about how much money they can get from having a casino. They seldom talk about how much more crime it will bring. Prostitution, gambling, nude shows, gangs, drugs all travel together. Which of us want our mother or our daughter to work at a place like that? Crime costs are often hidden. It is not just that someone has something stolen. It is the lives that are damaged. It is the neighborhoods that are destroyed. It is the cities that go from quiet towns to crime ridden streets. Look behind the tax income, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Should You Be Able to Sue a Guy Who Gives You Herpes? - Lemondrop If someone has a disease and knowingly does something with you that leads to your getting that disease, then should you be allowed to sue them? If someone has AIDS and gives blood? If someone has AIDS and then has sex with someone else should they be sued? People do dangerous things all the time, but they generally get informed consent before they do a dangerous thing like sky diving, or scuba diving or preforming some other dangerous activity. If someone knowingly does something that is likely to pass on a disease to another person then the person with the disease should be liable. It is irresponsible to have sex when you have a disease, and especially so when you don' t have safe sex and you don't inform your partner prior to participating in sex. Of course, there are many solutions to this problem. Quarantine people who refuse to practice safe sex practices if they have a fatal disease and if they pass it on to someone else, sue them into bankruptcy. If they spread a potentially fatal disease, why are they not prosecuted for manslaughter? The best way to avoid this whole problem was stated a long time ago in a best selling book, 'Thou shall not commit adultery'; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.
Woman Banned From Xbox Live for Identifying as Lesbian - Switched A website for playing games has banned a women because she identified herself as a lesbian. They don't want people on the site to discuss sexual matters, so she was banned. Why is it that gays feel compelled to interject their orientation into every discussion? If you are on a website for playing video games then play video games and leave it at that. Then Switched naturally comes out, so to speak, in favor of the lesbian. Why does an Internet magazine have a policy in favor of homosexual activity? The society has continued to inject sex into everything. Advertising, technology, video games, there is no place safe for children to go, there is no place where one can escape for a little while. The West is engaged in a culture war. We are fighting for traditional values and against Islam. We are losing that fight. Everywhere we turn there are champions for those who would change the values that made this a great country. A traditional Christian family, with father, mother and children built this nation and made it a great nation; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

http://www.suntimes.com/news/metro/1437260,w-va-hospital-racism-japs-surrender021809.article Ban history. VA Hospital took down a newspaper because the headline announcing the end of World War II said "Japs Quit" and someone complained about the use of the word "Japs." How sad. Now political correctness is being applied to the past. So if we see something offensive that was made in the past, we have to destroy it to avoid present sensibilities. This used to happen in Communist China. I remember the publication of a book in China many years ago. There was an event in Communist Chinese history called The Long March. Chinese Communists moved their headquarters away from attacking Japanese soldiers in the Second World War. They had to walk over a thousand miles over typically harsh terrain. They had a famous photo of the march that showed Chairman Mao and his wife and a number of other leaders walking together. In later years, Madam Mao fell out of political favor, so they began publishing the photo, but Madam Mao had been airbrushed out of the picture. The past had become offensive so they censored it. Now American troops who fought in World War Two and defeated the "Japs" cannot read about their victory over the enemy because the term has become offensive to some. How sad that people are so sensitive and foolish that they cannot read a document in it's historical context and not be offended. I am offended by the attack on Pearl Harbor, by the Bataan Death March, and by political correctness; Japs don't offend me; here at the Hysterical Right Wing.

Newsmax.com - Obama Plans Major Shifts to Reduce Nuclear Arsenal President Obama wants the United States to reduce it's nuclear arsenal to 1,000 nuclear weapons. The United States has not had to use nuclear weapons since the end of the Second World War. The reason for this is we have strong conventional forces and a nuclear arsenal second to none. Nuclear weapons come in many sizes and are designed for different purposes. A large nuclear missile with multiple warheads may be used in a major war to destroy many objectives in an enemy nation. A big single warhead on the same type of intercontinental missile might be used for an major command center that requires deep penetration of overhead cover. A national command center might be buried under a mountain or deep under a capital city. Large conventional armies may be targeted by small nuclear weapons fired from tactical missiles to destroy their tanks and armored personnel carriers. Other types of nuclear weapons may be used for air defense, electronic warfare, anti-submarine warfare or ship to ship defense. The US should not reduce it's nuclear arsenal. There are still many enemies in the world who look at us with envious eyes and our nuclear weapons help keep them at bay; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

TV Executive Accused of Beheading Wife A Muslim who started a television station to improve the image of Muslims in the United States has been accused of beheading his wife. Just a thought, you may be able to improve the image of Muslims in the United States if Muslims stop beheading people. This is so typical of the political correctness crowd and the Muslims in the media. They complain all the time whenever Muslims are portrayed in a bad light. I have read that it is not religious, it is cultural. It is a Middle Eastern thing to cut someones head off, not a Muslim thing. Then why is it that Christian Palestinians don't cut off people's heads? Why is it that only Muslims cut peoples heads off? It is not a cultural thing, it is a Muslim tradition. Radical Muslims have a belief system that is not compatible with Western societal norms. It is foolish for us in the West to pretend otherwise. Radical Muslims treat women as second class citizens. Woman are forced to cover their heads, they cannot drive cars, they cannot do anything that may "shame" the family without risking death by a male family member. While I certainly don't condone immoral activity, it is much more immoral to murder someone for that behavior; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

"China's military rebirth prompts U.S. response. Pentagon shifting more surface ships, subs to West Coast" By Steve Liewer, San- Diego Union-Tribune Staff Writer 2:00 a.m. February 17, 2009 While China's growing financial clout has garnered worldwide attention in the past decade, it is the Asian nation's military awakening that has Pentagon leaders in Washington gazing warily westward." This is no surprise, we were warned of this decades ago. Our fleet is in places like San Diego and Pearl Harbor where it is difficult to get to sea quickly in an emergency. The taxes on yachts, so called luxury tax, have sent most of our small ship building facilities overseas so the rich could continue to build yachts without paying the huge taxes they have to pay on yachts bought here. In WWII yachts were requisitioned by the Navy and used as auxiliary sub chasers, and rescue boats. In a war with China those yachts will not be subject to American use because they will be registered in foreign nations and we can't build them here anymore so we can't increase production. Military planning required more than just thinking about what my happen this year or next, but ten or twenty years from now. China does that. President Obama wants to cut military programs while our potential enemies are rearming. America was never involved in a war because our enemies thought we were too strong. We need to look at the world and build our military based not only on our present war, but also on any potential war; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

The stock market is about half of the value it was only a year ago. My house has lost about 40% of it's value in a not much longer period of time, and certainly I am not alone in that. Unemployment is going up, and gas prices are still expensive, no one is buying cars. The Congress has passed a bill and the President has signed it to stimulate the economy. It's not working. Spending a fortune to give everyone a couple bucks is not going to solve this problem. My unemployment check was $25 a week higher this week as part of the stimulus package. I am not going to go out and buy a car or a new house with the extra $25. Twenty-five bucks was not tipping point between me and a major purchase. Rather than hand out political favors and take over major sectors of the economy, why couldn't we just do something easy? How about just waiving all Federal taxes this year? How about skipping the Social Security taxes this year? Either of these would have targeted working people who create wealth, jobs, and capital. This would have been across all groups and political connections, it would not have simply targeted liberal Democrats who supported Candidate Obama. Oh wait, I have answered my own question; here at the Hysterical Right Wing.

We have won the war in Iraq. The surge worked and now most of the enemies of the new Iraqi government or dead, captured or on the run. Iraq had an election a few days ago and no one was killed. There were no car bombs, there were not even boycotts of the electoral process, most eligible voters voted. That does not mean that there will be no more casualties. The Germans surrendered in May of 1945 but the last American killed by the Nazis was killed in 1947. It took two years after the war was over for the fighting to finally end. We have had troops in Korea and despite an armistice that is over 50 years old, there are still concerns that fighting can break out at any moment. As recently as 1984 an American soldier was wounded and a South Korean solder killed in a 20 minute long firefight along the border. We will need to keep troops in Iraq for years, maybe decades. As long as radical Islam is a problem in the world the US will need to keep troops in far off places, like Iraq to help keep our enemies in check. It takes about a decade to develop a police department or an army from nothing to a functioning agency able to provide the full range of services to their nation. That means Iraq will need help at least that long; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Runaway Stimulus By George F. Will Spend $789 billion and reshape our government? No time to debate that now! The Reichstag is on fire. We better give sweeping new powers to the executive. The federal government is going to spend trillions of dollars to stimulate the economy. Why is the government doing this? Why is that that having lobbyists is the most important part of running a business? Companies are running to Washington with their hands out to get money. I don't believe that most of the stimulus money should be sent. It is not the job of the federal government to take money from taxpayers and simply give it to bankers, car makers, community activists and anyone else with their hand out. Our grandchildren will be paying this debt off. Government should incur debt to fight wars or perhaps to make a capital investment, like a canal, major roadway or other short term project. All other projects should be paid as they go, operating expenses, recurring expenses need to be paid for as the revenue comes in, not paid on borrowed money. The stimulus package is a lot of bad ideas packaged up and raced to passage so the people won't find out just how bad it is; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.
