How does that work exactly? How can you belong to a church that has taught that abortion is immoral for 2,000 years and yet act like there is some doubt on the teaching of the church? In the church, bishops are the defenders of the faith. If they as individuals had any doubt about the Roman Catholic teaching on abortion they should not now as many bishops have spoken out publicly explaining the church teaching on abortion. What other teachings of the church do these Democratic politicians choose to ignore? They constantly press for legal gay marriage. Why is it that they claim to be devout Roman Catholics, yet not only personally ignore the Churches teaching on both abortion and gay marriage, but they publicly work towards legalized abortion and gay marriage? How devout can you be if you don't follow the teaching of the Church? Individuals that have doubts about the teaching of their church are supposed to work with the leadership of the church to resolve those doubts, not use those doubts as the basis for making public policy; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

The Love of Money is the Root of All Evil

North Dakota Oil Boom Is Bittersweet - AOL Money & Finance In North Dakota the price of oil has made some people who live on the land and in small towns overnight millionaires. Some of this has made neighbors rich while others who don't have the mineral rights to their land are not rich. Some of the people are starting to allow the riches to create rifts in their relationships with people they have known all their lives. People don't always realize the nature of money and riches is not such that it brings happiness. Money is only a tool to help us do things we want or need to do. Money is not who we are and it is not a sign of our value as people. Poor people are just as valuable as rich people. Money should not be allowed to be a barrier between friends. Having money does not make you better than another person. Something for us all to remember during times of economic problems; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

No Milk

California wants to make a holiday for Harvey Milk. He was a homosexual activist who was murdered not long after he was elected to office in San Francisco. Naturally, they want the information about this persons life to be taught in schools. Of all the great hero's, inventors, presidents, and others who were born in California, or who lived here, Harvey Milk is not one who deserves recognition. In American we admire the best in individual achievement, not honouring people just because they are who they are. Simply because Harvey Milk was elected to office and was gay, people want to make him into a hero and make us celebrate a holiday for him. President Ronald Reagan was from California, was the governor of the state and won the fifty year long Cold War, and yet there is no holiday for him. Yet, liberals in California want us to make a holiday for a gay man, just because he was gay. There is no state holiday for anyone in California, and Harvey Milk does not qualify as being worthy of having a holiday. I contacted our governor and told him not to sign this bill, but to veto it. That's what the Hysterical Right Wing says.

Choose to be Poor

Senator Obama says he wants to cut taxes. What he wants to do is to redistribute the income of rich and middle class Americans to poor Americans. Why is it necessary to punish those who are productive by making them give their money to the poor? I don't see homeless people dying in the streets because of starvation or a lack of health care. The largest heath care issue of the American poor is obesity. Yes, obesity. Our poor people are so rich that they are so fat it is making them sick. Only in the United States do people who live in an apartment, with running hot and cold water, indoor plumbing, electricity, cable TV, color HD television, and an automobile count as "poor." All things are relative to others economically and while they may have less than some, they are not poor. Many of the poor suffer not from a lack of financial resources, but they suffer from poor life decisions. Having a child out of wedlock will make you poor. Only one person to care for, raise and pay for a child is not enough. It is difficult for two people, but if a woman tries to do that alone, she will almost certainly be poor. Don't want to be poor? Don't get pregnant unless you are legally married. If you don't want to be poor, don't use illegal drugs at all and don't use alcohol to excess and don't smoke cigarettes. Illegal drug use makes it very difficult to get and keep a decent job; it also makes it difficult to make good life choices. Using alcohol in excess often leads to criminal activity, domestic violence and health problems. Smoking cigarettes leads to greater work absenteeism due to more frequent illness, premature death, and sometimes causes people to burn down their house, and is expensive. If you are poor, how do you have $4.00 a day to spend on cigarettes? Being poor is often a matter of choice. People would rather spend money on things they don't need, that are bad for them, that will actually make their life worse than save money to move into the middle class. People will participate in self destructive behaviors, like promiscuous sex, gang and criminal activity and drug and alcohol abuse which makes it nearly impossible to move from being poor to being middle class. None of this is a secret, and yet, every day people will make these choices because they want the instant gratification our society tells them they need. I don't think taxing the rich to transfer money to people who consistently make bad choices is a good idea; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Economic Collapse, Government Bailout

All of this has happened before, it is not new, it has gone on for thousands of years all over the world and it is just a part of the nature of man. Depressions, recessions, bailouts are not new in American politics and have been with us from the beginning. In times of crisis or times of decision it is best to look to the Eternal Word of the Lord our God. There is nothing new under the sun. Ecclesiastes 1: 9-10 9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. 10 Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us. Realtors sell homes to people who cannot afford them, because the realtors love their money; they get paid, even if the house is foreclosed. Poor people apply for loans they can never hope to pay back, tempted to take a risk, thinking their homes will always increase in value. Bankers loan money to people that cannot repay the money, foolishly thinking they will make their money before it becomes a problem. Regulators harmfully lusting after jobs they can get once they leave government, so they force investors to loan money to those who can't afford the payments. Politicians greedily taking money for favors so they can be reelected, hoping if things fall apart they can blame someone else. Everyone wanting to get rich quick, hoping someone else will pick up the tab if there is a problem. No one wanting to take responsibility when the house of cards falls down. Greed, the love of money is the root of all evil. I Timothy 6: 6-12 6 Now godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8 And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content. 9 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 11 But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. Evil greedy people trying to get rich quick, not worrying about tomorrow, not willing to wait for financial gain, not willing to work hard and make the slow and steady income. Wanting to make the balance sheet tip grossly in their favor, and no one taking responsibility when there is a problem. Let the house of cards fall. Don't re-elect any of those politicians who took money from these people. Let some companies go out of business. Let some people lose their homes. Some people need to be fired, some people need to go to jail. Let this be a lesson to those who take unnecessary risks in the name of money and greed, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Stay Together

Couples Improve With Age, Book Says When young couples first get together they have an intense relationship. They have roaring emotions and it is all about the excitement. Later, as they get older and have kids and jobs that require more of their time they drift apart, spend less time with each other and often get divorced. Those couples who stay together through those middle years often feel closer than they ever have before and have a rewarding life that those who bail out will never know. Too often our society wants instant and constant excitement. As men get older they don't want to bother with the kids and have a wife who is not as exciting as she used to be, so they get divorced and get remarried. This even has a name, they call it midlife crisis and the new spouse is the trophy wife. Often the new wife is not much younger than the children of the first wife. This phenomenon leaves middle aged women, alone, often with limited job skills who have to go back into the workforce, frequently at a low paying job. Our society does not value hard work, and marriage can be hard work. We want the instant, but we don't get the long term benefits of a lasting relationship when we think of people as disposable. Many times the trophy wife herself is out the door in a few years as the man gets tired of her too. Swapping out an older partner for a new one is not the way to achieve a satisfying life. Find the person that is right for you and keep them forever. The long term benefits are well worth any bumps in the middle, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Blow Your House Down

How Did Lone Home Survive Ike? Photos show an entire island of devastation, nothing standing taller than a few inches off the ground and then right there not too far from the beach, a regular looking house is just fine. The owners say they build the property to withstand hurricanes and given the looks of the remainder of the island, no one else did. Just about everywhere in the nation there is something to worry about. Hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, earthquakes, brush fires, volcanoes, and various other natural disasters. When homes and businesses are destroyed by these events the only way they should be rebuilt is if they meet the standards necessary to withstand whatever the local natural disaster may be. It is foolish to keep building in places that flood unless you build the house to withstand a flood. It is foolish to keep paying over and over again for homes and businesses that if they had been constructed properly the first time would not be destroyed now. The Federal Government, FEMA, States and local agencies as well as insurance companies should insist that this be done. If the area is too dangerous, then FEMA should pay off the homeowner and buy the land. Then it should be kept in Federal or State hands and used for the common good like a park, golf course or other open space. I don't mind if FEMA and your insurance company buy you a new house after a disaster destroyed the old one. I just don't want to buy you a new house every hurricane season; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Marry Everyone

California is about to vote on gay marriage. Naturally the liberals in favor of it are doing all they can to confuse the issue and prevent the measure from passing. There is a television commercial that shows a beautiful woman, dressed in the full wedding gown trying to walk from her dressing room to the side of her man, dressed in a tuxedo, waiting to get married. She gets her dress caught, falls down, etc and the voice over says that we should imagine what it would be like not being able to marry the person we love. In typical liberal disingenuous fashion, they don't come right out and say what they mean. They disguise the issue so that people are not sure exactly what is being discussed. They don't show two men or two women trying to get married, they show a man and a woman. They know that society does not want to change the institution of marriage so they don't show any change. There are so many things wrong with the gay marriage issue. Marriage has been between a man and a woman in every society for thousands of years. There is no reason to make a change in that institution. I have already read about people who want to go further. I read about a man who was saying he should have multiple wives and child brides because of gay marriage being accepted. Once you eliminate the Biblical basis for marriage, then any other combination becomes reasonable. The other issue that concerns me is that simply making gay marriage legal will not be enough. Gays will require that everyone perform weddings for them. They will attempt to get conservative religious leaders to marry them, Roman Catholic Church's and other traditional religious leaders will be sued for discrimination, failure to provide equal protection under the law because they will refuse to perform gay marriages. This is another attempt for evil to destroy the traditional conservative values the Church has held for centuries; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

No More Gay

Palin's Church Promotes Gay Conversion Why is it that if Sarah Palin's church promotes something that is unusual we get linked to it right away by the main stream media and we are made aware that it is her church, not merely the church she attends, as if she is running the place? They were saying all kinds of wacky, scary things at the church Obama attends and we did not hear a word about it until it appeared on Youtube. Since most conservative religious people think that homosexual behavior is immoral, and since most conservative religious people think that the power of God is unlimited, why would it seem strange that they might pray for people to stop living an immoral lifestyle? It seems reasonable to me that someone who does not have a strong homosexual attraction might be moved back to the straight lifestyle with a little encouragement. I think that most people would rather be straight than homosexual, and so why not encourage people to live a lifestyle with less likelihood of contracting AIDS, fewer suicides, and greater public acceptance? It seems to me that these people are trying to help, and they are not forcing anyone to join them, so I think it is a good thing, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Now they are making an energy drink with alcohol so that people who drink it will not feel as drunk or as tired or as sleepy. That way they will be more likely to think that they are okay to drive, handle dangerous weapons, or even continue to drink until they are even more drunk. Alcohol abuse contributes to driving deaths, murder, child abuse, domestic violence and many other negative aspects of society. Making a beverage that will reduce the felt effects of the alcohol is not a good idea in my opinion. I think that it will only make things worse rather than better. Mercedes Benz made trucks for Nazi Germany in World War Two. BMW made fighter plane engines for Nazi Germany in World War Two. Volkswagen made Jeep like vehicles for Nazi Germany in World War Two. Many other companies did business for or with the Germans in World War Two. How many of those same people who will be offended drive one of those cars? How many of Allianz employees that worked for the Nazi's work there now? None. How many of their shareholders from those days are still shareholders now? Probably very few, if any. Nazi Germany was defeated over fifty years ago. Allianz has not been affiliated with Nazis since that time. Allianz wants to give money to put their name on a stadium. That is a very American practice. We should want our former enemies to join our melting pot and be a part of our society on our terms. They are not asking to exclude minorities from the stadium or to support a regime that is an enemy of the United States. They simply want to advertise the insurance they sell. Our enemies are now radical Muslims. The Germans have been good in helping us fight the radical Muslims. This is a terrible thing to have happen. All too often Muslims commit honor killings because a Muslim converts to Christianity. In my opinion, those who practice Islam know that their religion cannot stand up to the truth of Christ and so they kill anyone who converts. They are so afraid that if people were to learn about Christ and were free to follow that truth they would lose their religion very quickly. Islam is a false religion and it oppresses those who believe in it. They treat not only women badly but anyone who questions the religion can be subjected to terrible treatment, even death. Just recently the son of a leader in Hamas converted to Christianity and he too is afraid of death. I have said from the beginning of the War on Islamic Terrorist that the Word of God is the most powerful tool in our arsenal against them. This young woman in Saudi Arabia learned about Christ on the Internet. We need to insure that the ideals of freedom of speech are practiced in as many nations as possible. We need to make the Word of God available to those who would search for it on line so that they may come to know a loving God, not a God who demands the death of those who only search for truth, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Japan Beginning to Flex Its Military Muscles - New York Times After World War Two, Japan had a new constitution that was written to say that the Japanese military cannot be sent overseas. They were called the "Self-Defense Force" to empathize this mission. For many years the Japanese did not send troops anywhere outside Japan. In the Korean War, international Communist aggression was almost at their doorstep. They did help by allowing American forces to stage and train in Japan. The Japanese also repaired and prepared American materiel for use in Korea. They sat out the Vietnam War, again allowing the Americans to stage there and they helped by providing logistical support for the war. Eventually, Japan determined it was in their best interest to help by sending troops outside of Japan. They sent a few troops to Cambodia to help rebuild after the war. The have sent other humanitarian forces overseas to help after disasters. Most recently they had sent troops to Iraq to perform actual combat for the first time since World War Two. Japan has been building their naval forces and working with the US on missile defense. A more militant North Korea and a more capable Communist China are causing the Japanese to increase military spending with little discussion in the West. The last time the Japanese had a powerful military we went to war with them. Perhaps this is a good time to discuss what a powerful military will mean for Japan today, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Voters to Decide on Nashville Foreign Language Ban The language of the United States of America is English. One of the most important things to tie a nation together is a common language. Without the ability to communicate to one another it is very difficult to exchange ideas, make friends and work together. A common language facilitates that. Despite the obvious will of the people to have a common language, the elites continually try to force multiculturalism and diversity of language upon us. In California nearly everything is in Spanish in addition to English and voting materials are in Chinese and several other languages as well. It seems to me that one of the first things that anyone should do when moving to another nation is to learn the language. Even when my wife and I went on a two week vacation to Germany we tried to learn enough of the language to get by for a few weeks. English should be made the official language of the United States and the government should stop promoting the use of other languages in day to day living here in the US. English is already the most widely spoken language in the world today, it is ironic that so few in our own government want our own people to speak it, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Honor Killings

Democratic Vice Presidential Candidate Biden is Roman Catholic. The Church says that human life begins at conception and that abortion is the killing of a human being, and is wrong. He said on NBC's show Meet the Press that "I'm prepared as a matter of faith to accept that life begins at the moment of conception. But that is my judgment, for me to impose that judgment on everyone else who is equally and maybe even more devout than I am seems to me is inappropriate in a pluralistic society." That makes me wonder several things. If he will not impose his judgment on someone else in a pluralistic society based on his religious beliefs, what will be the basis he will select for imposing his judgment on others? Will he impose his judgment on some on the advice of his wife? How about advice from his party? Or is he simply unable to impose his judgement on anyone else for any reason? We are a pluralistic society but there are basic norms in our society that we all have to follow, even if we don't want to, that's why we have police and even soldiers to force those who will not follow the norms of our society. One of our norms is to value the life of innocent people. Science tells us that when an egg is fertilized we have the chromosomes for a unique and innocent human being. In fact, even the law recognizes that is a separate human being because killing it without the permission of the mother is murder. Why is it not a innocent human being if the mother wants it to die? And why can't Joe Biden recognize it for what it is and impose that judgement on others, that's the questions I have here at the Hysterical Right Wing.

I'll Drink To That

Colleges Want Debate on Drinking Age Colleges want to lower the drinking age from 21 years old to 18 years old because they don't want to have to police underage drinking. They claim that kids will get alcohol and drink anyway so why should they bother, just make the drinking age younger and then there is no problem. The real reason, in my opinion, is the not only don't want to police underage drinking, they want to make money off of it. They want to sell alcohol at every student union, every ball game, every pep rally, every student cafeteria and facility and make money. No matter what the drinking age, people a few years younger than that will always look old enough to buy alcohol and get it for themselves and their friends. If the drinking age is 21, then often kids 20 or 19 will manage to get alcohol. If the drinking age is 18, then kids 17 or even 16 will get alcohol, but this will not bother the university presidents, they will have pushed off the problem to the high school principals and they will have made their money. If you want to solve the problem, make the drinking age 25, and then no one on college campuses can drink. College students claim that if they can go to war or vote then they should be able to drink. There is an easy answer to that, all honorably discharged veterans who are registered to vote can drink alcohol at age 21. The shirkers and cowards and whiners who go to college yet don't serve their country can do without alcohol; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

I think that gun control is the single most important reason to vote against Obama/ Biden. They won't let us have these type of weapons because they don't trust the common people. Please explain why if the maximum speed limit is 70mph you should own a car that goes faster than that? Please explain why you need a home of more than 1,000 square feet? In the war on Radical Islamic Terrorists the best weapon we have in our arsenal is the Christian faith. We should be flooding the Islamic world with the message of the Good News of Jesus Christ. Churches should be sending missionaries and the Word of God should be beamed into Islamic nations by radio, television by satellite and Internet. Islamic nations have had a free hand in spreading their religious beliefs and often with the help, finances and sponsorship of their governments. Our government is so concerned about the separation of church and state, which our Constitution does not actually say, that they have not forced or even pressured Islamic nations to allow freedom of religion and a level playing field for Christian religious expression. Just as the atheist Communists governments were eventually collapsed in part by Christian leaders working to free their people, the Islamic world can be freed the same way. Too Good To Be True

League Bans Child for Being 'Too Good' - AOL Sports In a nation that demands excellence we tell a child they are too good to play baseball with other kids. And naturally the first place everyone looks is to the lawyers. I can understand the concern that some parents may have that the kid their child is playing against can pitch the ball very fast and that he may hurt them if they get hit by the ball. I can also understand that the parents who sign their kid up to play are unhappy if their kid can't play because he is "too good." Let's try and resolve this with a little common sense and good judgement. What is the purpose of little kids playing baseball? So they can get some exercise, learn about team work and have some fun. Is it fun to be so good that other teams simply forfeit games and you win? No. Is it fun to play a game where the other player may hurt you if he makes a bad throw? No. Does anyone get any exercise if all the other teams won't play against your team because of the one extraordinary player? No. Kids baseball is divided up by age group with the supposition that kids of similar ages are of similar skill and maturity levels and can play together. It seems the needs of the many are being outweighed by the wants of the few. Perhaps if the boy is this good he should be playing with older kids. After all how much of a challenge can it be if you are that much better than the other kids? How will he get better if he can't play against and with players of similar skill? I am not sure the good player or the other kids are being served by having him in their league, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Free Trade In Ideas

20 Muslim nations ban U.S. religious workers We have free trade in so many items but we don't have free trade in religious ideas. Why do we have Allies that allow us to defend them but won't accept missionaries into their nations? Why do we let them send religious leaders here when they won't let religious leaders from here travel there? Perhaps the government should treat religion as well as they treat tomatoes and televisions and cars, by requiring free and fair trade or they can't sell their religion here if we can't sell ours there. The best weapon we have against Radical Islamic Terrorists is the word of the Lord, Jesus Christ. The best way to fight a bad idea is with a better, stronger idea. Perhaps they know that well and will not let Christians send missionaries into their nations. Part of the Christian religion is the Great Commission, to go forth and preach the Gospel to all corners of the world. The Middle East did not become Muslim because Islamic missionaries travelled there and in the free market of ideas everyone determined being a Muslim was the best choice. It became Muslim because Muslim armies conquered the Christian and pagan areas and eventually killed or enslaved or drove out nearly all those who would not convert to being Muslims. All those churches in the Bible were in areas that are now Muslim. I think Muslims will not allow Christian missionaries because they know that in a free religious marketplace where people are free to choose, they overwhelmingly choose Christ, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Muslim Nation

Muslim Americans for Barack Obama '08 The website above has endorsed Barack Obama for president. They have a list of some of the issues that concern them. They want a law to prevent harrassment of Muslim wearing Hijab at the airprot, DMV and other places. So when a woman goes to the DMV for her photo she can get a photo with her face covered. Why does that make any sense? Make laws to force employers to give Muslims Friday off to go to prayers and make the two days of Eids national holidays. Why do we have to get special laws to accomodate every religion? If you are a good employee, your boss will accomodate you or you will have to get another job or work another shift. Just an additional cost to employers and next they will ask for other holidays and time off. This is not a Muslim nation and it is not our tradition. Make sure there are optional Halal meals in all public schools and colleges and federal buildings. Naturally, they won't stop there, it will be required everywhere food is served eventually. Provide prayer areas for all public and private buildings; do we do this for other religions? Why must we do this for Muslims? They want to have a Muslim American group to assist in recommendations for US foreign policy affecting majority Muslim countries. Do we do this for Christian nations? Why do we have to treat Muslim nations differently? America was founded and has been a Christian nation with laws, practices, traditions based on our Jewish and Christian heritage. I don't want this to become a Muslim nation, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Bad Business

American Amusements: Soldiers Not Welcome - Associated Content A British soldier was planning on attending a funeral for a fallen comrade in the UK recently. When he went to a hotel to check in he was refused a room and told that they did not rent rooms to servicemen. A hotel in the UK that would not rent a room to a soldier from the UK. In my humble opinion, a soldier who is risking his life for his nation should get a room for free, or at least very low cost. It is inexcusable that a hotel would refuse service to an active service member. The hotel is owned by a company called American Amusements, I hope that they are not actually an American owned company. If they are, then I am ashamed that an American company would do that. Certainly I would never buy anything from any company that disrespects our servicemen in that manner. Our soldiers put their lives on hold and then put them on the line when they go on active duty and go into a war zone. It is the least that we can do to show our appreciation for them when they return. No Secret Ballot

California could change farm worker union votes - sacbee.com California wants to change the ballot to vote for or against unionization from a secret one to an open one. The unions fought long and hard for a secret ballot so that companies could not pressure employees so they would not vote in a union. Now that the unions are the ones who apply pressure they want to see who among the workers is voting against the union so they can lean on people themselves. I wonder if they would be so interested in knowing how everyone voted if the companies had the right to fire anyone who voted for the union? Somehow I suspect they would be demanding that the ballot be kept secret. Unions used to be a good thing. Companies were very powerful and workers had few rights under law. Now the opposite is true. Workers have many rights under law and companies seem to have fewer and fewer. We seem to be moving towards a European system were it is more an more difficult to get rid of employees the company does not want. Now unions just want more and more benefits for their workers without regard to productivity, competition, the state of the company or economy. Some unions are actually bankrupting the very organizations their employees work for; when did that seem like a good idea. My dad belonged to a union and I belong to one too but I an not sure just how useful they are anymore, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Abortion Teaching

Catechism of the Catholic Church - The fifth commandment Since some of the Democrats don't understand the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, I went to the Vatican website. They have a complete copy of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. The catechism is the official teaching of the church. It has not changed in about a hundred years and was first written in the 1500's. Most of the changes are further explanation rather than changes in position. The Church says the act of getting an abortion is wrong. It is evil. It is a basis for excommunication with the Church. They are very clear. There are no weasel words about rape, or incest, or birth defects or first or second trimester. All abortions are forbidden without exception and that is a basic concept in the Roman Catholic Church. So when Democratic leaders say they are not sure when life begins and they are not sure if abortion is wrong, or if it is okay some of the time, and they profess to be practicing Roman Catholics in good standing; they are lying. You cannot be a Roman Catholic and advocate and practice that which is forbidden by the Catechism. Those politicians who vote in favor of abortion, who advocate abortion, who lobby for abortion should be denied communion until they change their position. Pray For The Navy

There is a demand from the ACLU that the Naval Academy discontinue their tradition of having a chaplain pray before lunch. The ACLU wants to discontinue a practice that has gone on for decades and harmed no one. Voluntary prayer at a public function is a perfectly legitimate activity. There are so many terrible things that happen every day in this nation and in the world, why does the ACLU find it necessary to worry about voluntary prayer at the US Naval Academy? The phrase "separation of church and state" is not found in the Constitution of the United States. That shocks people, because the media repeats it over and over again. The Constitution says that the "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." That meant that the Federal government would not have an established church like they did in England. In England they had a government sponsored church, paid for by the government and that had religious tests for people to hold office. We did not want that here. We did not have "separation of church and state" we just had a government that was not going to be co-mingled with a church. That was the idea of separation. Not that church is somehow evil and must be kept away from the citizens at all public gatherings outside of a church building. There is no reason to stop praying at the Naval Academy; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

No Bibles For China

Recently several Christians tried to visit China with 315 Bibles in their luggage. They and the Bibles were detained and while eventually the Christians were released, their Bibles were not returned. China has a law that prohibits the importation of religious objects beyond those needed for personal use. Apparently 315 Bibles is considered too many for personal use. The next time someone, like Democratic Presidential Nominee Obama, praises Communist China, remind them of this incident.

The best tool we have in the war of ideas between totalitarian systems is the Holy Bible. It speaks of freedom and personal responsibility. Perhaps every Christian that goes to China should take one or two or three Bibles in different translations for personal use and then present them as gifts when they leave the nation. That way they are taking religious items for personal use and still helping to feed the Christian hunger for the Word of God, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Flag That

Confederate flag ban challenged in court - ParentDish Why is it that the Confederate flag is outlawed but not the Canadian or Mexican flag? How about the state flags of Georgia or Mississippi? They contain the Confederate flag as part of their design. The Confederate flag is part of the history of this nation. I see kids wearing the image of Che Guevara all the time. Why is it that a flag that represents part of the history of the United States is outlawed, but the image of a murderer, terrorists, enemy of the United States who represents International Communism that killed 100 million people is okay? The CSA has been gone for 120 years, whereas there are still repressive Communist nations murdering their own people even today. Schools ban foolish things. I read that a kid who was on an Olympic shooting team was prohibited from wearing the Olympic shooting sports logo because it had a gun on it and they have a zero tolerance for guns at the school. A severe lack of common sense and good judgement. How frequently do we hear of Olympic athletes committing gun crimes? That would be never I suspect. Schools need to maintain order in the classrooms. They also need to treat their students fairly. If they want kids to wear uniforms, that's fine, but don't prohibit the kids from wearing part of our history and permit them to wear advertising for tyrants; that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Freedom of the Press

Random House caves to Muslim pressure (OneNewsNow.com) Radical Muslims may be offended by a book, so the powers that be at Random House chose not to publish a book. They did not even get threats about the book, they just determined there could be a problem so they don't bother to publish the book. It is too bad that the few Muslims in the USA have the power to veto a book publishing, without even doing anything other than existing. We often hear about the importance of freedom of the press. We hear about the brave reporters that risk everything to bring an important story to light. We hear about the free press acting as the palladium of our freedom. We hear that without a free press, democracy is finished; that a free press is essential. Yet now, a major publishing house has determined they will not publish a book because they are afraid. Afraid of the repercussions of publishing a book that some Muslims may find offensive. This followed by the refusal of many media outlets to publish the "offensive" cartoons a few years ago. Before that, CBS news was editing reports out of Iraq because they were afraid of losing access to Saddam Hussein. Where will this road leave us? Where is it heading? What other stories don't we get to read because our media is afraid to bring them to us? How long before our media simply has Muslim extremists edit all their stories before they are published? Many disturbing questions here at the Hysterical Right Wing.

Child Bullfighter Sparks Controversy - AOL News A child from Mexico goes to France to fight bulls. The animal rights people use this as an opportunity to lash out against bullfighting in general under the guise of trying to protect this child. Animal rights people have a real agenda of stopping bullfighting. They are just using this child as a means to an end. One of them claimed it was wrong to teach a child of six years old to kill. Children who live on farms learn about life and death and killing much younger than six years old. They have to help with the chores and when feeding the chickens you will sometimes find one dead. Sometimes you have to harvest animals to feed the family. Death is a part of life and it is normal to teach children about it. Children also learn to fish and hunt. The fish die and are eaten by the children who catch them. Children hunt with bow and even rifle at young ages. Animal rights people generally seem to be city folks who have no real connection with the outdoors and with the natural cycles of life. Children should be allowed to be children and not have many responsibilities until they get older, but animals and people die. Our society often tries to keep death at a distance, in part because we have become so secular we don't look forward to heaven as we should do, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.

Pro-Abortion Catholic

Addressing the oxymoron 'pro-abortion Catholic' (OneNewsNow.com) At last the Roman Catholic Bishops are voicing their concern about high profile elected officials who speak out as "Catholics" and claim abortion rights and that there is some confusion in the Catholic teaching on abortion. The teaching is that life begins at conception and abortions for any reason are against the teaching of the Catholic Church. When listening to people speak about abortion I enjoy listening to their justification for the abortion. Some will say it is okay during the first trimester because the new life is barely formed, it is okay until their is a heartbeat, or brain waves or until the baby moves. So the next logical question is why don't they support limitations on abortion after that point? Why not make abortion after the third month, fifth month, eighth month illegal? They then have difficulty giving an answer to that question. Typically it becomes a question of not wanting to force their morality on other people. Why not? All laws force one morality on other people. We don't steal because it is immoral, we don't murder because it is immoral. We should not have abortions because it is immoral, that's the view from the Hysterical Right Wing.
